(NIGHTWINGS POV.)
Even as we started on our way to Slade's lair, I still couldn't help being a little ticked off at the fact that if they had originally believed me we could have already had Robin back by now.
But even through the pissyness I was feeling I could not help going through every plan and backup plan we had out of worry.
I mean, we didn't plan that much out. Just that we were going to scout out a little while and then if we saw that it was safe enough we would go in and forcefully take Robin. It wasn't a fool proof plan and it relied mostly on brute strength than anything else, but, at least it was an outline of a plan.
Still, I had thought of every backup plan I could, each one becoming more and more risky than the last. One of them I knew would work no matter what, but it would risk some much it might not be even worth it.
Let's just hope we don't have to resort to that.

(NO POV.)
The silver justice league jet glided through the air flawlessly, never making a whisper of a sound or showing any difficulty flying.
The occupants inside were less than calm though, each one being nervously wound up as tight as a clock. They knew that Nightwing had something up his sleeve, some backup plan that was risky and dangerous yet bound to work.
What bugged them all was that none of the knew what it was. They could only hope that everything would go well and that he wouldn't have to surprise them with anything.
But with them being the heroes of this equation, it meant nothing went smoothly for them.
Right as they got over their drop zone the jet was hit with what most of them could only assume was a small missile.
They could all see Batman running to the computer to see what was hit while M'gann, Starfire, Raven and Superman all flew the rest of the heroes out of the ship onto the ground.
It was only when Starfire finally flew out with Nightwing and Batman landed soundlessly on the ground next to them did the find out what happened.
Batman looked at them all to make sure no one was severely hurt before growling out, "the jet was hit in the second engine with a small missile."
Everyone grimaced, knowing that they lost their one quick mode of escape unless M'gann called on the Bioship.
Batman turned to Nightwing, looking him up and down.
"Would Slade have access to missile's about the size of the one we got hit with."
Nightwing lightly scoffed before answering, "if Slade doesn't have access to them I would be seriously surprised, especially for the man who can bend every criminal in the city to his will."
Luckily, they had been hit right above where they were planning on landing anyway. Silently the group of heroes made their way to the large warehouse, each of them going over the pathetic attempt at a plan in their heads repeatedly.
Once they got close enough, the heroes split off into two groups, one of which would sneak in the front while the other would sneak in the back.
Everyone knew to be on their guard, especially because they had just been shot out of the sky. That's why everyone was so surprised to find the large building seemingly empty.
The two groups eventually met in the large middle room of the warehouse, both of them stating that they hadn't experienced anything or anyone on their way through the halls of the building.
That's when everyone heard the telltale click of a gun being cocked and looked up to see Sladebots surrounding them from all angles.
That's when hell broke loose.

Batarangs and birdarangs started flying, multiple types of lazors were shot out and there were weapons drawn all around. But none of them seemed to do anything to the robots.
They all paused when they heard a low chuckling coming from the shadows.
Then, out came Slade, dressed in his usual garb of black and orange, followed by an older man, with the name tag of Wintergreen on his suit jacket.
But what really caught their attention was struggling young vigilante in the elderly man's grasp.
"Well, I see the titans got some new friends. Nightwing, I thought you didn't like the league."
You could practically feel the hate coming from Nightwing's glare when he heard slades condescending tone.
"League or not, I believe you have something that belongs to my, so called, friends."
His voice was cold and would probably make the Joker shit himself, but Slade just laughed as though Nightwing was just some young child trying to scare a parent.
"Well, Nightwing, my last apprentice didn't work out, so I needed to find a new one."
Slade looked knowingly at the Titans as they all felt a shiver go down their spines at the mention of the time they almost lost their leader to the mercenary. The Justice Leaguers all gave them a questioning look that no one responded to.
Nightwing took a deep breath, knowing that what he was about to do would go over like a ton of bricks with the other heroes.
"What if we could offer you an even better apprentice than Robin?"
Slade smirked from behind his mask. He knew what was about to happen but he wanted to hear the teen say it.
"Oh, but who is better than the dark knight's squire? Who would I want more than him?"
Nightwing took a deep breath before answering, shooting sorrowful glances at the titans, who knew exactly where this was going. They cursed their leader for his self sacrificing nature, but knew there was nothing they could do to stop him.
"Me..."
