"I don't want to be here." Jeremy hummed under his breath. Hope laughed and shoved him, throwing another ham sandwich at him. He took a big bite out of it and enjoyed it obnoxioulsy, causing a few people to turn and look at them. Hope gave one girl who was sneering at them the finger, causing the girl's eye to grow as big as saucers and turn around, red in the face. Jeremy and Hope snickered behind their hands as Bonnie and Caroline shushed them. Jeremy pulled his phone out of his and answered it.

"Hey Ric, what's up?" Hope popped a few grapes in her mouth and went back to watching the movie, tuning out whatever Jeremy was saying to the teacher/hunter. He hung up and got to his feet quickly, pulling Hope with him.

"Damon's gotten loose and the police are after him. We gotta go find him. He's looking for Elena." Hope nodded and the four split into pairs, looking for the rabid vampire. Hope felt bad for him, he had been kind after they had found her father...and she was pretty sure he was in love with Elena. The two searched through the movie watchers and were on their way to start looking in the shops when they literally stumbled into Damon, bent over, struggling to catch his breath.

"Damon." Hope grabbed him around his waist. He looked at her hopefully.

"Elena?" Hope smiled softly and nodded to Jeremy, who grabbed an arm and pulled it over his shoulders. Damon leaned heavily on them and they led him to the thankfully empty Grill. Jeremy leaned Damon against the table as he circled it to make a phone call. Hope moved Damon into a chair and knelt next to him to get a look at the wound on his arm. It was nasty looking, but she hoped that maybe her healing magic would help with the side affects. Suddenly, Damon stood up and right before he flashed away, a gunshot sounded through the restaurant. Hope's eyes met Jeremy's shocked face as red bloomed around a gunshot wound in his chest.

"NO!" She cried out. She rushed over to Jeremy, shoving a shaking Sheriff Forbes out of the way. Hope's hands instantly went to the wound to stop the bleeding, her eyes tearing up at the scared look on Jeremy's face. She watched helplessly as Jeremy's eyes widened slightly before rolling into the back of his head and the doors to the restaurant flew open. Caroline and Bonnie knelt on the floor next to Jeremy, and the blonde vampire shoved her wrist into Jeremy's slack mouth, the blood uselessly sliding off his lips. Hope sobbed as she closed her eyes and lowered her shields. She had never tried this, but she had studied the theory.

She was a necromancer after all.

"I know what I have to do." Bonnie said. Hope opened her eyes and the four people gasped. The green of her eyes were like neon signs and Alaric, Bonnie, Caroline, and her mother were shoved back a couple feet by an unseen force. A circle of forest green light encased the two, and Hope shut her eyes once again.

Hope could see in her minds eye the Spirit World. The grief and determination were fueling her magic enough to keep the unwanted dead away from her, as she honed in to Jeremy's signature. She could see the dead, the colors of their souls dull due to her lack of focus on them, but she was running through the sea of auras, searching searching searching until she found who she needed. He was close to the edge, brand new, and his body was outlined in a brilliant forest green.

"Hope! Wh-what happened?" Hope sighed in relief and grabbed his hand.

"Everything's going to be okay." She whispered. Her shields were beginning to weaken and she closed her eyes, whispering the words that had been drilled into her head day after day for weeks.

In the Living World, Hope's hands began to emit a brilliant forest green light that began at Jeremy's wound and started to seep down his whole body and up Hope's arms. Hope's mouth moved a hundred miles a second as she chanted, no sound escaping her lips. Soon, the two were encased in that brilliant forest green light and Hope's whole body stiffened. Her eyes opened, shining like two beacons in the darkness that had moved quickly through the room. Her eyes unseeing, but in the Spirit World she watched as Jeremy started to fade.

The glow around them intensified greatly before started to recede until it was just the size of a softball over Jeremy's wound. It sank through his chest and his body gave a great jolt, like he had been electrocuted. Hope's chanting sped up as she raised two fingers and on the last word touched Jeremy's forehead. His eyes opened and he flew forward, great heaving breaths shaking his whole body. Bonnie and Caroline sobbed as they hung onto each other, the former surging forward and pulling Jeremy into a hug. Hope stood up and stumbled to a chair, her body shaking and her face covered in a thin film of sweat. She felt depleted, like she was on E, but the sight of Jeremy standing, breathing, and alive was enough for her not to care about the ache that was settling into her bones. Bonnie turned towards her, an awestruck look on her face.

"How? I would have needed-" Hope cut her off.

"I'm a necromancer. It's kind of my job." Bonnie nodded and turned her tear stained face to Jeremy as she and Alaric helped him up from the floor. Hope took a deep breath and then Jeremy was standing in front of her, pulling her into a bone crushing embrace, so grateful it left him speechless.

"Thank you." He finally choked out. Hope tightened her arms around his waist, wondered when he had gotten so tall, and nodded. He pulled back and kissed her forehead. Bonnie and Alaric led him out of the Grill, and Hope soon slipped out as well once she saw the moment brewing between her best friend and her mother.

She walked down the sidewalk for a few seconds before the full reality of what just happened had hit her. For the first time, she had called on her necromancy abilities and she had been successful. Jeremy was alive and walking around, and she had done that. She sat down on the edge of the sidewalk, propping her elbows up on her knees as she buried her face in her hands. Her dad would be so proud of her. She stayed like that for a few moments before she felt someone kneel in front of her and remove her hands from her face.

"Are you okay?" She nodded and and smiled softly at the concern in Matt's eyes. He eyed the dried blood on her hands and said nothing as she wiped them on her jeans. He helped her up and wrapped an arm around her shoulders as she wrapped one around his waist. Hope felt as if she could fall asleep at that exact moment.

"Let's get you home." She nodded and leaned against him as they made his way to his truck. He buckled her in and closed the door, jogging to the driver's side and sliding in. He looked over at her and laughed in disbelief. She was asleep, her chin resting against her shoulder, a few stray curls falling over her face. He couldn't help himself as he reach over and tucked them behind her ear. She smiled in her sleep.

And if anyone noticed that Hope reached out in her sleep and entwined her fingers with his on the seat between them, well, he wouldn't have cared.

Can you say out of the blue chapter? I'm the biggest crap writer and I could understand if you have left this story, but the biggest thank you if you still continue to look for updates on this story. I have just been re-inspired for Hope and Matt, so lets hope it stays that way!

Next chapter will be picking up around a few episodes into Season 3 and I'm super excited! I was so happy to finally delve into the necromancer part of Hope, and I think that having her bring Jeremy back from the dead made more sense...since you know, that's kind of what she does. It won't change the plot of the show much, just that the witches won't be so pissed off at Bonnie.

Please leave a review and tell me what you thought!

Love you!
