Kyrie had never experienced a voyage on a ship. She was excited the first night when they emerged from below deck. The ocean was endless and stretched on seemingly for forever.

Her acute senses could see down far into the depths of the water and knew it was much deeper than she could tell from first glance.

The air was rich with the scent of salt, the water would spray up every once and a while over the deck. It would hit her in the face and settle deep into her clothes, not that she minded at first.

The vampire authority, specifically Roman, saw to it that not only did they have comfortable chambers while on their trip but that they were well fed.

There were only few aboard the crew who knew what really they were, they would protect them during the day while they slept. Even still with a food source they had to feed sparingly.

The crew was unsettled by the sickness that seemed to strike men in their sleep but the captain assured them it was due to chronic ailments the men had prior to the journey.

"Tell me my lady, how is it you drink from men as if they had wine running through their veins?" The captain asked Kyrie.

She was often invited alongside Eric to dine with him in his quarters. On this particular night it was only Kyrie.

It had surprised her at first that he addressed her so formally. No one had ever called her a lady or held her in high standing.

The captain informed her he was well dressed with her kind, simply because she appeared to be a child meant nothing.

"It is wine for me." She stated with a smile. "Every human is unique in taste. You can most certainly tell the difference between a noble men and a pauper."

The captain, Spaulding, took a bit of meat from his plate popping it in his mouth. He leaned back in his chair grasping his wine glass taking a long swig from it.

"And what of a seaman Lady Kyrie." He wondered raising a brow at her.

"Hearty, salty, slightly metallic; as if he has iron running in his blood." She stated after some thought. At that Spaulding stood walking around the table to stand behind her.

"I wonder how my blood would taste to you then." He said bringing his hands to rest against her shoulders. He kneaded his fingers into her muscles making her uncomfortable.

Kyrie cleared her throat shrugging him off quickly.

"Is that how it is then? The moment I am not in my companions company you think it fit to put hands on me?" Kyrie quipped standing haughtily. She turned to face the man.

He wasn't bad looking. He was middle aged but still held onto his youthful appearance nicely. His hair was jet black with some grey sneaking in to highlight it. Still she held no interest for him in that sense.

"If you would excuse me Captain." She said walking towards the door. He grasped her wrist pulling her back towards him. She stared at him incrediously.

"I mean no harm by it my lady, upon my parents tomb I swear it. I would never jeopardize your virtue, that is unless you wished me too." He stated smirking at her. Kyrie shook her head slowly.

"You do realize I could rip your arm off with a flick of my wrist?" She asked certain he had no real understanding of what she was.

"I know. It's fantastic." He said with a broad smile. "You are amazing." Kyrie swallowed hard remotely reminded of the first words Godric had spoken to her.

"What is it you want from me exactly?" Kyrie asked.

"I must confess it has become a guilty pleasure of mine for lovely ladies such as yourself, to allow me to sustain you through out your voyage." Spaulding said.

"You allow yourself to be fed off of?" Kyrie asked amazed.

"Oh yes, I have found it is quite pleasurable for both parties involved." He replied.

Kyrie was shocked by this revelation. A human wanted her to feed from him. Generally the humans fought unless they were glamoured. She stared into his eyes certain that he must have been at some point but there was no sign of it. His eyes were clear.

While Kyrie was deep in thought the captain took it as another meaning as she stared at him. He closed the gap that was between them placing his lips firmly against hers.

Kyrie let out a startled gasp. She hadn't prepared herself for that, it made her mind slow to respond and her body tremble. He reached up pulling the pins out of her hair causing the braids to fall out and fall down her back and shoulders.

She pushed away from him. He was warm, so very warm. She had never experienced that type of warmth other than when she was feeding.

She placed her hand over her icy lips only realizing then how cold her skin was. The taste of him remained on her lips and crept into her mouth. Her tongue snuck out tasting more of him.

Her fangs descended quickly as her hand wound into his hair snapping his head to the side. In a flash she sunk her fangs just above his collar bone.

He hissed sharply taking in a breath before letting out a moan. He wrapped his arms around her holding onto her tightly. Kyrie felt him wrapping her hair around his fingers.

She lapped at the wound she had made before placing her lips back over the bite marks. His blood was smooth and rich. She could taste the countries he had visited, the things he had eaten, and the women he had been with. It was invigorating.

She broke off away from him to snag his lips in another kiss. She deepened it seeking out more of his delicious warmth. He was so full of life, she wanted to feel it.

Spaulding breathed heavily into the kiss before breaking it off. His own blood reddened his lips. Kyrie snapped her fangs back.

She felt his fingers tugging at the back of her dress while his eyes questioned hers. She ran her hands up under his jacket and shirt pulling the buttons apart from the inside out.

He shrugged the clothing off revealing his well toned arms and chest. Kyrie ran her hands across his shoulders taking him into an embrace. She kissed at the wound she had made sucking at it gently.

He backed her up to the table before turning sharply towards his bed. As they neared it Kyrie used her speed to spin him around and toss him onto the bed.

He bounced on the mattress slightly letting out a slight laugh. In a flash Kyrie was on top of him feeding again. She felt his hands rip at the fabric of her dress.

His hands were so warm as they moved across her back and ran down her arms. She rolled off of him tugging his belt off as she went onto the mattress.

He reached under the under skirt she wore to pull down the heavy bloomers. Kyrie kicked them off as he positioned himself on top of her.

His pants fell down to the floor as he sunk himself into her with expertise. Kyrie gasped at his warmth filled her.

"Sorry if that hurts my dearest." He whispered huskily stopping the roll of his hips against hers.

"I'm fine. I've never had relations with a human before. It's different." She said. He smirked down at her capturing her lips with his.

Kyrie licked at the blood that had dried on his and she shuddered. The pleasure from feeding and sex was almost overwhelming for her.

"Kyrie, may I drink your blood?" He asked. She was brought back into reality slightly by his question.

"What for?" She asked intrigued.

"Vampire blood is intoxicating." He whispered. "It leaves me feeling drunker than any alcohol ever could."

It was an odd request. Again he had thrown her for a loop. She wasn't sure how to answer him. The only person who had ever fed from her was Godric and that was in severe times of need.

Spaulding pushed into her harder causing her to moan out as he asked her again. Kyrie brought her wrist to her fangs and bit down drawing blood.

The captain wasted no time seizing her wrist in his mouth and sucked drinking from her. Kyrie watched as a strange light seemed appear in his eyes as they glazed over.

She pulled her wrist away from him as he moved with more vigor against her. It didn't take long for him to finish.

He practically leapt off of her and jumped in place. Kyrie sat up and stared at him.

"Are you alright?" She asked warily. He was acting odd, more than simply being drunk. He skipped over to the table drinking wine straight from the bottle.

It leaked out of his mouth and down his chest puddling on the wooden boards. He raced back over to Kyrie grasping her hands in his pulling her up to stand.

"Never better my dear. Now, let us enjoy this night above deck." He said starting out the door.

"Your clothes, wait." Kyrie said. He dragged her out of the room towards the stairs that led up.

"Trivial things." He stated. She broke away from his grasp as he practically ran onto the deck. Kyrie watched him as he grasped at a rope and began climbing towards the crows nest.

"This...is not ending well." She whispered to herself.

"What is wrong with the captain?" A crew member shouted.

"He's stark raving mad!" Another yelled as he reached the first sail and grasped onto it hanging on.

The wind whipped and ripped his hands away from the fabric. Kyrie covered her eyes quickly hearing a heavy splash a few moments later.

"Man overboard!" Someone shouted loudly as a bell was rung. Crew members scrambled to the side that he had fallen over.

Kyrie backed down the steps slowly making her way to her sleeping chamber she kept with Eric. She closed the door quickly behind her.

Eric had a book open and glanced up at her quickly.

"Kyrie I've told you before, I understand you are not accustomed to wearing so many layers of clothing but you must in order to fit in." He said.

"A vic, have you ever fed a human your blood?" Kyrie asked attempting to hide her nervousness.

"Why do you ask?" Eric questioned back curiously.

"I think I may have just killed the captain." Kyrie said softly.

"What?" He asked startled.

"He told me that vampire blood was like alcohol to humans. I allowed him to feed from me. Eric, he wasn't right afterwards. It made his judgement extremely poor, I think he may be dead." She said walking further into the room.

Eric adjusted himself uncomfortably in his seat. He placed the book down on the table next to him.

"I hope for our sakes that is not the case." He said. "Captan Spaulding is our main source of protection. With out him who is to say the crew won't turn on us."

"How much longer is this journey?" Kyrie asked standing in front of her progeny.

"Sixty more days, good weather permitting." He said.

"After we reach North America I will not go on another voyage like this again. It's too risky for us." She said thoughtfully.

"To answer your question, no I have never fed a human my blood but I have heard of other vampires sharing their blood. Humans in fact become intoxicated with it and from what I understand dependent upon it." Eric said.

"There is something in our blood that affects them. Promise me Eric that you will never share your blood with anyone other than another vampire if necessary." Kyrie said sitting down exasperated. Eric gave a short nod and picked his book back up to resume reading.
