The sound resembled a shriek. Kyrie caught a slight glimpse in her dream of a blonde haired woman. Her hair was short and her clothes were strange.

Her face was dimly lit by red lighting as she brought her hands up to her face and screamed again in terror. Kyrie made a move to reach out a hand to her only bumping it into the lid of her coffin.

The coffin lid was abruptly opened and she was greeted by the dour face of Nan Flanigan.

"We will be arriving shortly." She stated and briskly walked away. Kyrie sat up slowly hearing the shriek of the train whistle again.

She glanced around at the lavish room she had been given by Eric for their travel across the country. There were no windows so no light could come in.

The great steam engine had startled her considerably as it pulled next to the platform. It groaned and whined. It hissed as it came to a rest.

Kyrie had been fascinated by it as people climbed out of the train and others began to board. The train conductor stood with his whistle grabbing luggage and motioning towards the cars as people asked him questions.

Kyrie had clung tightly to Eric uncertain what to do and followed his lead. She was afraid, there was no denying it. Every instinct in her body told her not to enter that great beast but knew it was a necessity. The last thing she wanted to do was cause a scene and embarrass her progeny.

She should have been setting the example for him not the other way around, still she held his arm tightly with hers fearing the world she had found herself in.

Now as the train began slowing down she braced herself slightly grasping at the sofa that adorned the space. She walked over to the mirror to fix the ornate hat into her hair with pins. She smoothed down the skirt of her dress nervously as Eric entered the car.

"Ready to see San Francisco?" He asked smirking slightly.

"As ready as I will ever be." She stated smirking back at him. With a nod Kyrie followed Eric out and allowed him to help her onto the train platform.

"This way. I have a car waiting." Nan stated. "Your luggage will be transported to where you will be for the duration of your stay here."

"Exactly how long is that going to be?" Kyrie asked.

"Undetermined as of right now Ms. MacShire. You will be informed as it is seen fit." Nan stated.

"But of course." Kyrie stated softly to herself. She was beginning to understand this Flanagan woman and realized that she was simply a tool for the authority to use as they saw fit. She didn't trust her.

The automobile was of the same design that Kyrie had seen in New York. Nan tied a kerchief to her head to keep her hair in place as Eric helped her into the passenger seat.

He lifted Kyrie to sit on the back part of the contraption as he climbed in himself to sit next to her.

"Hold onto your hat." Eric said wrapping an arm around Kyrie as the automobile lurched forward and began to move. It wasn't the fastest she had ever gone but it still unnerved her.

They turned down many streets that were lit by gas light lamps. It was lovely, she had to admit although it seemed to drown out the stars in the sky. After some time the automobile came to a stop in front of a large house.

"Here it is. Your new residence." Nan stated. She turned around in her seat handing Eric a set of large keys. "These will open any door in the house. I would give you a proper tour however I must attend to business elsewhere. I will send for you tomorrow night Mr. Northman."

"I look quite forward to it Ms. Flanagan." Eric replied exiting the automobile. He helped Kyrie out as another automobile pulled up alongside them with their luggage.

Eric nodded to the driver and grabbed their bags out walking up onto the large front porch. He unlocked the door opening it as he tossed the luggage in ahead of him.

Kyrie hesitated before entering taking in the furnished surroundings. Eric let out a sigh before undoing his stiff collar and shrugging out of his jacket.

In turn Kyrie removed the pins from the decorative hat she wore and let her hair down. She ran a hand through it and shook it down further.

She glanced over at Eric as he smirked at her slightly. She raised a brow at him in question. With out a word uttered he walked over to her and removed her cloak letting it fall to the ground.

He proceeded to unbutton the heavy dress she wore and worked his way through the layers of her corset and full size undergarment. He knelt down as he pulled down the leggings she wore and unlaced the calf high boots she had on. At last he stood staring down at her.

Her clothing pooled down around her on the floor leaving her nude. She felt free from the oppressiveness she had been feeling lately.

"There's my Kyrie." Eric said gently as if pleased with himself.

"Your Kyrie? If anything you are my Eric since you are my progeny." She stated.

"With all the times that I have had you in my arms you are mine." He stated protectively. He reached down to brush her hair out of her eyes.

"And you are mine." She said to him unbuttoning his shirt pulling on it until it slid down falling to the ground. Eric pulled off the undershirt he wore adding it to the growing pile.

He grasped Kyrie up in his arms laying a soft kiss against her lips. It had been so long since she had felt such closeness to her progeny she felt her fangs descend down on their own accord.

Eric let out a soft chortle as he walked over to the den. He laid her down on the floor on the decorative rug that adorned it. Kyrie wrapped her arms around Eric pulling him down closer to her catching his lips in a deep kiss.

She felt her fangs knick his lips and sucked on them gently his familiarity coursing through her bringing her great comfort.

Eric wrapped his arms around her laying against her with out putting his full weight on her. It was as if no time had passed between at all as they moved with each other.

Kyrie ran her fingers through Eric's hair taking note just how short it really was. Eric rested comfortably in her arms sighing every so often against her skin.

"It won't be so bad mama." Eric stated softly. "At least we are together."

"A vic, that's more than I could have asked for." She replied. She felt Eric smile for a moment and she felt her arms wrap more protectively around her child.
