Kyrie stood in the middle of what had been the living room of the house she had shared with Godric and his underlings. Stan had been killed in the blast leaving only Isabelle and, of course, her maker had met the sun. It had been a few days since, Eric had attempted to get her to go back to his own territory but Kyrie had stayed her ground. She had to figure out what to do with the house until then she would stay at the hotel.

Isabelle came up next to her and sighed. The two females simply took in their surroundings and surveyed the damage. It could be fixed, like any building could be after a disaster, perhaps even if it had to be rebuilt but in their brief conversations they had had with the contractor it didn't seem it would have to that extensive. The house could be fixed but neither was sure if the wanted to stay in it any longer.

"We can sell it the way it is." Isabelle said. "Granted we won't get as much money for it."

"I don't care about the money." Kyrie replied. "Lord knows we have enough of that."

"Yes of course." Isabelle stated.

"I just am not sure what to do." She said after a moment or so had passed.

"I have been offered the position of sheriff for this territory." Isabelle said softly glancing at the ground.

"Have you now?" Kyrie asked. "I am surprised seeing as, how they say, Godric was a royal fuck up."

"That's not true." She quipped.

"I know that, better than anyone, but if it's on TV. then it has to be true." Kyrie ground out sarcastically. In the few days that had followed the incident at the house and Godrics true death there had been no shortage of news stories on the matter.

At the head of most of them was Nan Flanagan weaving her lies and pretty cover ups. Kyrie had nearly ripped the flat screen off the wall of her hotel room when she couldn't take it anymore. There would be a reckoning with that woman, she blamed her fully for Godrics demise even though logically she knew it had been her makers choice alone.

The anger she felt inside of her had replaced the denial she had initially felt which in turn led to a deep grieving that she felt as if she could hardly bare. Yet each night she rose from her dreamless, dead sleep and went through it all over again. "I'm going to go back to the hotel for now."

"Kyrie…" Isabelle said as she turned to walk away. "It's difficult but we have to deal with it. It would be easier on both of us if we did so together."

"Maybe tomorrow night." She replied heading out the door. She walked slowly back towards the downtown area of Dallas stopping once in a while to stare up at the sky and everything that lay beyond it. She could see so far and yet not far enough it felt as of late. What exactly she was searching for she had no idea but surmised that maybe it was some sign of heaven or another plain of existence, proof that Godric hadn't simply vanished.

Once inside the hotel she moved quietly past the other guests making her way over to the elevator. She kept her head down and her eyes half lidded not wanting to acknowledge anything around her. She entered the room with a key card walking in to the large suite and stopped dead in her tracks.

She couldn't process the other figure who sat on the sofa directly across from her.

"Hello mother." Nora greeted as if no time had passed between them.

"Nora?" Her voice caught in her throat as the other female stood quickly and held her in an embrace.

"Mama, I've missed you." She said softly. Kyrie slowly wrapped her arms around her progeny feeling a deep sense of relief at having her by her side even if it was only fleeting.

"What are you doing here?" She questioned curiously.

"Of course I would come to your side." Nora replied as if it were obvious. "Kyrie…when I heard of…fathers…oh, it's just dreadful to think that he would…"

"I know." Kyrie soothed as her child rested her head against her shoulder.

"I had hoped that Eric would be here as well." She stated.

"He left some days ago now." She said. "I could have gone with him but I can't be a burden to him any longer."

"Mama, there is another reason why I am here." Nora said. Kyrie led her to the sofa and squeezed her hands in both hers for her to continue. "Over the years I have found myself in quite the position with in the authority. There is a place for you there."

"I have no desire to have anything to do with the authority." Kyrie replied.

"It's not your decision." Nora said. "I'm sorry but you have to come with me." Kyrie took her hands away from her and slanted her eyes at the other female.

"And if I refuse." She demanded softly.

"They will use Eric against us." She replied. Kyrie stared at her daughter before swallowing hard. She should have gone with Eric, should have…what difference did it make, they would have come for her regardless. With Godric gone now they would do with her as they saw fit and pleased.

"Very well then." Kyrie said standing. "Let us go."
