Every boy dreams about being the hometown hero well tonight I felt like it as everyone came up patting my back yelling out congratulations. Even my coach came over and slapped my back telling me I made the right move. Nothing could stop the grin that spread across my face as I jogged back to the field where my team was gathered.
Watching Lucy and her team line up to start their next cheer my eyes traveled across her body she had the most amazing butt I have ever seen on a girl. Simon: "We should celebrate how about a night out in Indianapolis this weekend we can see that new action movie that's out tomorrow night, take the ladies out to a nice dinner, than stay at a hotel maybe spend Sunday exploring the city"
Brett: "I love the idea I'm sure Archie will be in to take Kendra out"
Simon: "I'll ask Molly out what's the worst she can say?"
Eddie: "So who's going to ask Charlotte out?"
I slapped his back knowing how much he likes her but his hands flew up so fast I was almost knocked over by the wind.
Eddie: "No way not me she still hasn't forgiven me for the whole Juvie thing"
I always feel there's more to that story than her just being mad for being caught drunk but he never shares the details so I don't push. Looking back at them I couldn't stop thinking how lucky I was to have her as a girlfriend even if I didn't love her she was still hot not a bad way to spend my high school years with. I mean all the girls are hot. They were in a pyramid now Charlotte's leg was high above her head as Lucy's own leg matched it their toes touching. What a great view.
The voice of one of the new boys startled me as he came up slapping my shoulder turning I saw it was Maddox standing by me he seems like a cool dude.
Maddox: "Who's that hot girl with the curly hair?"
Eddie: "Her name is Charlotte but hands off"
What was with Eddie? He wanted her he didn't want her? I had no time to think about it because the ref blew the whistle. We had to win I railed the team together more focused than ever.
We lost but the blow was less serve to me because I had my girl back which meant my college acceptance was almost a sure fire thing. Saturday didn't come fast enough for me but I was so happy sitting across from Lucy who looked gorgeous in her belly revealing red sliver halter. Cassie and Richie were holding hands sitting to my right. Molly and Simon across from us were deep into conversation. Archie and Kendra were giggling over some meme completely ignoring us in their own little world.
The only two who looked uncomfortable were Charlotte who was glued to Lucy's side and Eddie who looked pale and sweaty. I wanted to make them feel less anxious but was clueless how to. So I texted the one person who is a genius at plans.

"Yo how do we get Charlotte and Eddie to stop looking like their going to a funeral?

"IDK man but these two are making me sweat what the hell is up with them? Holly shit he just spilled the water all over her!"
Charlotte's scream made my head shoot up Charlotte was standing up covered in water her blue gown soaked Lucy, Molly, Cassie all jumped up trying to help her dry off. Eddie was beat red stuttering as he tried to apologize.
Lucy rushed her off to the bathroom I could see Charlotte trying not to cry as Molly and Cassie wrapped their arms over her shoulders. Kendra looked torn but gave Archie a kiss before rushing after her. The five of us scratched our heads as four of us turned to Eddie who shrugged.
Brett: "What the hell man? Were trying to get to home base here what did you do or say to her? Why is she crying?"
Eddie shrugged
Eddie: "I didn't say anything man I swear I just told her she looked beautiful and I tried to reach for her hand and she freaked I got scared and knocked the water over"
Richie: "Casanova you are not my man but let us help you first stop trying so hard second take a deep breath, third just relax be yourself"
Archie: "Did something happen between you two?"
Eddie: "Why would you say that? No man nothing happened were just maybe were just not meant to date"
Brett: "Did you ask before you reached for her hand? You know how jumpy she is"
The way he hung his head told me the answer was no shaking my head I slapped the back of his head.
Brett: "Always ask first man or she'll think you are a dog"
Eddie seemed more nervous as they came back Charlotte's eyes were slightly red rimmed from crying what had happened why was she crying? I didn't hear or see anything that would make her cry. Going over to them I asked Charlotte for permission to hug her she nodded. Taking her in my arms I rubbed her back.
Brett: "Did he do or say anything to hurt you Charlotte?"
She shock her head hugging back tightly I noticed she was shivering so I rubbed her arms as she wiped her face apologizing for running out. Lucy smiled at me so sweetly I knew I had just scored points for being nice to Charlotte. Wasn't what I was going for but I would take it.
Brett: "You know your mom is worried you haven't been home in weeks have you called her? Talked to her?"
Charlotte shock her head not looking up at us Lucy wrapped her arms around her shoulders.
Lucy: "I'll call your mom let her know your fine why don't you eat something Char you need your energy"
I shot Eddie a text telling him to offer her his jacket as she sat down while Lucy went to call why wasn't Charlotte talking to her parents? Did I miss something? I watched Eddie read my text than nervously go over to her and gently place his jacket over her shoulders. Taking our seats I sent him another text to ask her what her favorite food was something he should know since we've known each other forever but it would at least show her he cared.
Molly: "So Charlotte which picture are you going to use for your profile for the school website we have to have our profiles done for the cheerleading team page by next week."
Charlotte: "I don't know I haven't had time to really chose Eddie can you help me decide?"
Charlotte showed him a few pictures she was posing different in each but Eddie's response nailed it.
Eddie: "I don't know their all amazing can I see them again why don't you get a little closer it's hard to see from across the table"
Charlotte giggled as she moved over switching spots with me I didn't complain now I was sitting right by my amazing girl who smelled so sweet.
Lucy: "Thanks for being so sweet to Charlotte she's never really dated so she's beyond nervous she almost got sick in the bathroom she's having some family issues so she's a nervous wreck I want to help her so bad"
Brett: "Anything to help out a beautiful girl I like seeing you smile and if making Charlotte feel better helps you smile I will go to the ends of the world to help her"
Lucy: "Aw your so sweet Brett kiss me fool"
Gladly I took her in my arms and kissed her deeply as Eddie took her phone softly asking if he could wrap his arm over her shoulders. Lucy's lips felt amazing so soft so sweet I was in heaven kissing her I couldn't breathe but I didn't care I didn't want to let go. I felt so close to her my heart was beating so hard I just wanted to hold her in my arms and never let her go.
Coming up for air was something we had to do but I didn't want to of course as soon as we did everyone was clapping and giving us shit. The look on Lucy's face though was all I needed she was blushing and looked shy. Something Lucy Dunn is never.
We skipped the movie and went out to the country side to spend time by the fire which took Eddie, Richie, Simon and I forever to light, Archie spent the time making fun of us. Sometimes he lucky he is in that wheelchair. Finally we got it lite up and cuddled together on logs roasting smores.
Charlotte: "So here is Cute startled"
Charlotte showed Eddie the first picture as Eddie smiled playing with one of her curls.
Charlotte: "I call this baby girl surprised, I call this Flirty Gossip"
Eddie kissed her check bone as she smiled blushing.
Eddie: "I like all of them babe because their all you in their own unique ways and you are beautiful in every one of them"
Charlotte's squeal was infectious making all of us laugh as she wrapped her arms around him laying her head down on his shoulder. Lucy laid her head down on my shoulder as she gazed up at the stars wrapping my arms around her I held her close burying my head into her hair damn she smelled amazing.
Lucy: "Have you ever looked up at the stars and wondered how you got here? Ever wonder why were here? I mean the stars are so beautiful the way they shine and twinkle so bright. Like they never have to worry about anything"
Sometimes Lucy amazed me I mean who really thinks about things like the stars?
Molly: "Yea I have actually did you know that every star in the night sky is bigger than the sun?"
Kendra: "My favorite star is Sirius it twinkles so much it looks like it's having a seizure"
Brett: "No star twinkles as much as you my love"
Lucy awed as I kissed her I saw Molly roll her eyes as Richie suddenly jumped us throwing mud at us, Lucy, Charlotte screamed jumping back falling on their butts.
Brett: "War!"
Slinging mud at him was easier than taking cake out of Lucy's hands but he was joined by Eddie and Simon throwing my hands up I yelped but didn't give up. Lucy was pissed though and in seconds I had her Charlotte on my side flinging mud back at them. Cassie, Molly and Kendra joined in as Archie wheeled like hell to escape.
Richie: "Oh no where do you think your going Wheels?"
Before Archie knew it he was covered as well laughing and throwing mud we all ended up slipping and falling as the fire crackled and hissed. Somehow I ended up on top of Lucy as I tickled, rolling with her, her kissing her even caked in mud this girl tasted fabulous.
Charlotte's scream didn't take me out of the moment as Eddie picked her up she hit his back with her fists kicking but he just picked her up like the lightweight she is and carried her above his shoulders towards the lake. Oh no this would not end well if Lucy saw so I didn't let her see I rolled her back over on her back she moaned so softly it turned me on. Wait did she just reach for my pants?
Lucy: "I'll give no meaning to the words dirty girl Brett what do you say make love to me here and now?"
I didn't need to be asked a second time kissing her I pulled her to me pulling up her skirt slipping inside of her, she moaned gripping me as Molly chased Eddie. Without her part of me felt like I was screaming, and no one could hear. I felt ashamed. That someone could be that important that without her, I felt like nothing. No one will ever understand how much it hurts. I wished I could have all that bad stuff back. So that I could have the good, I would never take Lucy for granted again, good or bad she was my girl and I would make sure she knew how much she meant to me, her screams told me I was making that happen. At least till we graduated.

Lucy screamed as she clawed me but nothing she could do saved her as I threw her in the water, Cassie wouldn't let Richie even try she dove in herself. Molly swung in using a rope clothes went flying and Kendra stripped right on the embankment giving Archie a show. Lucy hit at me as I threw off my shirt stopping her in her tracks her eyes twinkled as her lips found my nipple making me moan.
Eddie: "May I kiss you Charlotte? I think your beautiful even covered in mud"
She giggled as Kendra grabbed Archie jumping on him Archie squealed in delight but delight turned to horror as his wheelchair fell over dumping them both in the water. Luckily he was still a strong swimmer.

Eddie grinned slowly leaning in his lips touching hers just as Molly screamed crawl-fish she jumped knocking Cassie out of her way to get out of her spot falling back into Charlotte who tried to fight her off but lost her balance as she went down. All the girls started screaming so Eddie jumped in to get the stupid crawl-fish.
Lucy: "Charlotte! Where are you Charlotte?
Everyone else was splashing around half naked but Charlotte was no where to be found. We could barely see it was so dark we only had the moonlight to go by but I could feel the fear something wasn't right. Diving in deep I held my breath looking as did Archie, Malcolm finally I spotted her body floating down. My lungs ached but I pushed myself forward and swam to her grabbing her shooting up.
Brett: "She's not breathing!"
