Izumo was having an awkward staring contest with Kotetsu on the couch.
"Could you repeat that?" Kotetsu asked shocked.
Kotetsu kept bothering Izumo to get pregnant now rather than later. Izumo promised Kotetsu that he would agree to be pregnant if (and only if) he picked when he'd like to get pregnant. So, Izumo told Kotetsu that it was going to be a surprise. Kotetsu stopped asking him after a month if he was pregnant since Izumo continuously told him 'no'.
Izumo of course was about one week along and was waiting for the perfect day to tell Kotetsu. A day where Kotetsu was excited and happy and not exhausted from working. Which happened to be that day.
"I. Am. Pregnant." Izumo told him, needing to over pronounce each word.
"You… really… we…" Kotetsu was trying to form a sentence but it wasn't working out well.
"A baby!" Kotetsu yelled, jumping up and startling Izumo as Izumo was hugged tightly by the overexcited man.
"Hey! Be careful…" Izumo blushed, putting his hand on his stomach gently that was in between Kotetsu and him.
"Sorry, sorry" Kotetsu said blushing before he kept glancing up and down from Izumo's hand to his eyes; Kotetsu's hand slowly made its way to Izumo's hand. Kotetsu gently rested his hand on top of Izumo's, a light blush illuminating Izumo's face as Kotetsu's smile began to grow.
"I can't wait"
Two Months Later
Sasuke sighed into his pillow, enjoying the comfort, before feeling outside movement on his protruding stomach. Sasuke peeked open his eyes looking down at his stomach seeing Naruto smiling lovingly at his stomach, his hands roaming all over.
"Naruto?" Sasuke asked sleepily getting the blonde's attention. Naruto kissed his stomach before looking up at Sasuke's sleepy face.
"Hi" Naruto said quietly before his eyebrows furrowed in worry, "how are the babies?"
"Good" Sasuke yawned. Naruto smiled in relief making Sasuke chuckle.
"My due date isn't until next week you know" Sasuke said shuffling his hand through Naruto's mess of hair.
"I know I'm just anxious I guess" Naruto said quietly resting his cheek gently on Sasuke's stomach, getting soft taps against his cheek.
"Besides, Iruka-sensei was a few days late of his due date" Sasuke said, resting his head onto his pillow again.
"Yeah…but I kind of want to see our babies" Naruto whispered, "See what they look like. Meet them."
Sasuke smiled before lifting Naruto's face off of his stomach, moving off the bed carefully, before kissing Naruto gently.
"I'm getting breakfast. You hungry?" Sasuke asked curiously only to have Naruto following obediently behind him.
"Hungry for you" Naruto said bouncing his eyebrows up and down.
"Idiot" Sasuke rolled his eyes at the man starting breakfast.
"Why are you two looking at me weird?" Sakura asked Shikamaru and Shikaku curiously. Both of them were just looking shocked at her which in turned made Sakura regret the move she just made entirely.
Sakura had lost another bet to Shikamaru and agreed to play shogi with him once more. Unfortunately Shikaku was visiting them at the start of their game wanting to see his daughter in law again giving them more presents from his wife. A promise was a promise after all and Sakura forgot to hide the one move that was well known throughout the village. The Nara's unbeatable general's move. It made it impossible for any opponent's next move to be successful, without putting their king into danger (and ultimately losing the match). Sakura truthfully didn't want a long game with Shikamaru because if she sat cross legged too much, her stomach started to hurt; but she didn't want to worry Shikamaru about such a trivial thing. Sakura did notice from time to time, when she was lying down in the middle of the day to sleep, Shikamaru would look at her worried hoping she was okay along with their child.
Now the reason why she regretted the Nara's unbeatable general's move was because Shikaku and Shikamaru couldn't figure out where her shogi skills came from. She had yet to tell Shikamaru that his grandfather was the one who was teaching her when she started dating Shikamaru. She didn't want to tell Shikamaru anyway considering she heard that Shikaku had a fight with Shikamaru's grandfather a long time ago which is why they weren't talking. Sakura didn't want to say anything making Shikaku mad at her and especially didn't want that to cause Shikamaru being mad at her too.
Of course she would visit Shikamaru's grandfather every now and again to see how the old man was doing. He was actually quite happy about her getting married and having children with Shikamaru and hoped she would come by with his great grandchild. Of course she knew that the old man did miss his own son, Shikaku, but was too stubborn to do something about it.
"Would you look at that…I won… and it's actually almost noon" Sakura said chuckling awkwardly, "I think I'll make some lunch."
Sakura hurriedly scurried off the open deck that wrapped around the house, before going inside worried for a moment.
"She could have only learned that move… from grandfather" Shikamaru said shocked, looking at his father.
"I know" Shikaku said almost with a grunt before smirking, "that old man seems to come into my life one way or another doesn't he?"
"He did wish for your forgiveness some time ago" Shikamaru sighed, standing up, "besides, I highly doubt Sakura would allow such a man to teach her anything, if he wasn't initially a good person, neh?"
Shikamaru walked away from the shogi board wanting to find Sakura, leaving his father to grumpily go say 'hi' to his father after ten long years.
"Sakura" Shikamau said, almost with a smirk.
Sakura turned around with a sandwich on a plate looking very shy for a moment making Shikamaru's eyes soften at the sight.
"Shikamaru-kun, I-" Sakura began before Shikamaru kissed her gently, his hands resting on her stomach.
"You aren't in trouble" Shikamaru said smiling making Sakura blush before frowning.
"But… I heard your father got in a fight with your grandfather. So I thought you would get mad if you found out because… I wasn't sure what your feelings were towards your grandfather" Sakura said quietly.
"My grandfather and I enjoy each other's company well enough. He tried making up to my father many times, but hard headedness runs in the family so they kind of been at war with each other for a while. Don't worry about it. Besides I'm guessing you've been seeing my grandfather for a while to have those kinds of moves, neh?" Shikamaru smirked at her.
"I don't want your father mad at me though" Sakura said frowning, one hand holding the plate up while the other rested on Shikamaru's hands which were still on her stomach.
"They have their problems which are soon to be fixed I'm sure" Shikamaru said smiling kissing her again, "don't worry. My father couldn't hate you anyway. So again, you aren't in trouble" Shikamaru said winking at her.
"So I can have the sandwich then?" Sakura asked cutely making Shikamaru kiss her softly before taking the plate from her.
He walked away with the plate, sticking his tongue out at her, making Sakura pout at him.
"That was my sandwich if I wasn't in trouble!" Sakura said chasing after the man who already started eating her lunch happily.
Sakura,
Naruto is worried again. Could you come visit me to tell him everything is fine…again? I have that tea you like here since I've been bothering you so much.

Sakura smiled at the letter that just appeared with a sleeping Shikamaru resting comfortably on her chest since Sakura was more comfortable on her back. Sakura kissed Shikamaru's head gently wanting him to come with her.
"Shikamaru-kun" Sakura said quietly, nudging the boy. Shikamaru stirred slightly, peeking his eyes open.
"What's wrong?" Shikamaru asked with slight worry.
"Naruto is worried again about Sasuke. Do you want to come with me?" Sakura asked gently, shuffling some of Shikamaru's loosened hair that came out of his pony tail while he was sleeping.
"Sure" Shikamaru yawned stretching and standing up. Sakura stood up too before losing her balance gasping as she began to fall. She felt to arms hold her body tightly to a broad chest.
"You okay?" Shikamaru asked with worry before Sakura kissed him happily.
"I am now" Sakura smiled making Shikamaru sigh out. Shikamaru held Sakura's hand tightly, both of them making their way to Sasuke and Naruto's apartment.
Naruto quickly let them in almost seeming frantic only to have them find Sasuke sitting peacefully in the kitchen with tea prepared.
"Hi Sasuke-kun" Sakura said rolling her eyes.
"Here's the tea I promised you" Sasuke said, pushing a cup towards her from across the table.
"See Sasuke-kun! Even Sakura is worried about you!" Naruto said waving his arms around making Shikamaru have to avoid him.
"I sent her a letter Dobe" Sasuke said rolling his eyes. All of them started laughing at Naruto's pouting face before Tsunade 'poof-ed' into the room.
"I need you two for a moment" Tsunade said surprising the group. Of course she was referring to Shikamaru and Naruto.
"What for?" Naruto asked curiously.
"Some suspicious people have been spotted by the border, we need a plan in case there is an attack" Tsunade said making both men frown.
"Can't just Shikamaru go!?" Naruto whined holding Sasuke tightly to him.
"Sasuke's due date is really close! What if something happens?" Naruto said seriously.
"Dobe…" Sasuke said blushing, his eyebrow twitching with slight annoyance at the blonde.
"Your presence is required as future Hokage, brat!" Tsunade said huffing at him.
"Besides, I have to leave my pregnant wife too" Shikamaru said frowning at the blonde making Sakura have the same blush and twitch as Sasuke.
"Anyway my pupil can look after the Uchiha brat since she was the one who made it possible for him to get pregnant in the first place. I'm sure she can watch him for about an hour or two you know" Tsunade said rolling her eyes.
"We're still here you know" Sasuke and Sakura said annoyed.
"No longer than an hour old woman" Naruto said grumpily, kissing Sasuke gently.
"Same here" Shikamaru said hugging Sakura and giving her a kiss as well.
"Agreed, now hurry up brats" Tsunade said briskly before all three of them 'poof-ed' away.
"Anyway thanks for the tea" Sakura said smiling at Sasuke. Sasuke nodded at her as both sat in a comfortable silence.
"So you are feeling alright then?" Sakura said after a moment.
"Yes. My stomach is just sensitive at the moment" Sasuke said rubbing his stomach.
"They move a lot. Without your sugar I'd probably be bruised from the inside out by now" Sasuke said sighing.
"No worries. Besides you're due in about a week anyway so your stomach is probably getting itself prepared for when you're ready" Sakura said touching his stomach. Sasuke smiled excited.
"Do you have names?" Sakura asked curiously.
"I was going to decide with Naruto once the babies were born. Since we both decided to be surprised by what gender they are, Naruto wanted to come up with names right on the spot" Sasuke said nodding.
"That's just like him" Sakura said smiling.
"Of course you know what they are don't you?" Sasuke asked, smirking. Sakura of course bought the appropriate baby clothes for the babies already as gifts for Sasuke (who straight out refused a baby shower); of course Sakura didn't blame him considering how much bountiful energy their friends had.
"I have no idea what you're talking about" Sakura said playfully, standing up to go to the living room.
"You're awful at lying" Sasuke partially yelled from the kitchen making Sakura laugh. Both Naruto and Shikamaru had only been gone for about forty minutes but that didn't stop Sasuke or Sakura's minds to wander towards the two men.
That is before the lights in the apartment went out.
"What the…?" Sakura spoke out quietly. She suddenly heard glass shattering in a back room somewhere.
"Sasuke!?" Sakura yelled loudly only to practically run into him who ran out of the kitchen.
"Did you make that noise?" Sasuke spoke quietly.
"No" Sakura said seriously. Sasuke handed her a hidden kunai he had, holding one himself.
"I think we should get out of here" Sakura said whispering to him in the dark. Both knew full well that they weren't in any condition to fight; Sasuke least of all. When they turned towards the front door in the living room, before they could take one step, it was too late.
"I don't think so" A man with a gruff voice spoke out in the darkness.
"You two won't be going anywhere" another man spoke out to their right somewhere.
"At least not in your conditions" another man started laughing at them to their left somewhere.
"I'm quite sure the present and future Hokage's, Uzumaki and the slug queen, will give us anything we want for the two of you. As well as Konoha's two favorite geniuses, the copy-nin as well as the Nara" the leader of the group, it seemed, spoke out to them.
"Don't you think?" All the men started laughing as Sasuke and Sakura were now back to back with each other.
"Of course damaged or not, they will still do anything for you" one of the men spoke out.
"What do you want from them?" Sakura spoke out angrily, her hand tightening around the kunai in her palm.
"Money, riches, and some interesting scrolls the Leaf is known for" one of the men said with excitement for the riches he was sure to gain.
"And what will you do with us?" Sasuke spoke out.
"Well if you come quietly, we won't kill your unborn children" one of the men said maniacally.
"But, if you don't come quietly, we'll kill them. And then if we don't get what we want from your family and friends, we'll kill you" another man spoke out, the sneer on his lips almost audible.
"Either way it is a win-win situation for us" the leader spoke again.
"Sakura" Sasuke spoke out quietly. Sakura's eyes grew wide, at the fear she heard in Sasuke's voice. Neither of them could fight considering the chances of their children being killed were very high, along with their own lives.
"Hold on to my hand Sasuke-kun" Sakura said, fear filling her own voice.
"How sweet. Two friends ready to die together in the end" All the men started laughing again.
"Now men, we mustn't damage the goods too badly, or we won't get any chance at all at getting what we want" the leader spoke again, even in the dark his smile could be heard; he didn't even sound too worried about getting his riches or not.
Both could sense the men encircling them slowly getting closer to them. Blades could be heard being unsheathed.
"Looks like the little girl is scared boys" one of the men spoke out with glee. Sakura placed her hand on her stomach, her kunai against her stomach, with green chakra glowing giving the room an eerie glow. For one last moment, both Sasuke and Sakura could see eight men were evenly spread out around them, ready to strike. In the last moment, Sakura could practically see their muscles shift, ready to strike like a snake at them.
Sakura dropped her kunai from her hand kicking the weapon in midair at one of the men. Sasuke threw his kunai at the nearest man faster than could have been seen, both were able to get a hit before Sakura transported them in the last second as the leader and his men were about to capture them.
Sasuke immediately noticed they were in a training field near the Hokage mountain before relaxing slightly.
"Sakura, good work" Sasuke said turning to the woman only to see her gasping in pain, her hand no longer glowing green around her stomach.
"Sakura!" Sasuke yelled out in shock. Sakura transported them, knowing the risk it would have on her body, but her hope was to lessen the damage by keeping healing chakra around the baby. The area around the baby however had inner damage.
Sasuke knelt on the ground and held Sakura's head, holding her hand tightly.
"Sakura?" Sasuke asked quietly, fear filling him.
Sakura peeked open her eyes, knowing it would take her a few minutes to get the pain to go away.
"I'll be okay" Sakura gasped flinching making Sasuke tighten his grip on her hand exponentially.
"I just need a few minutes to heal myself" Sakura said quietly concentrating on her stomach while Sasuke watched, keeping a look out around them.
"Naruto, where are you?" Sasuke asked out with worry.
Five Minutes Earlier
"Baa-chan! It's almost been an hour! Besides the guards said that the men were gone right?" Naruto whined at Tsunade making her huff at the man.
"They mysteriously disappeared you idiot!" Tsunade growled at him.
"Well we won't find them here so I'm going back" Shikamaru said slouching.
"Agreed. I was supposed to have dinner with Iruka and Akeno right now" Kakashi said, his pout obvious behind his mask.
"I told you two before (she's referring to Naruto and Shikamaru) that we need a plan considering we don't know what they want or who they are. I also told you that Sakura can take care of Sasuke while you guys are gone. It hasn't even been an hour!" Tsunade said annoyed.
"Is Sakura with Sasuke right now? At your apartment Naruto?" Kakashi asked curiously having the blonde nod at him.
"Well that makes it easier for me" Kakashi said with an eye crescent, "I need to ask her something anyway."
"What are you going to ask her?" Shikamaru asked curiously.
"Don't worry about it" Kakashi said, waving his hand at the boy making Shikamaru skeptical at the man.
"Oh no you three don't" Tsunade said as all three of them were about to transport themselves back to Naruto's apartment. Everyone in the room was just watching them in amusement at this point.
Back at the apartment (Two Minutes Earlier)
"I want you five to search for those two and don't come back until you do" the leader said with anger, "the rest of us will catch up to you in a few minutes."
Five of the men left while the leader and the other three searched the house for possible items of value.
While the three men reconvened in the kitchen, finding a small pile of money and placing it on the table, as well as a few well-crafted objects, a poof suddenly caught their attention.
"Sasuke-kun! Sorry I'm late-" Naruto began before seeing the three men in his kitchen. That's when Naruto saw red and pulled out his katana attacking the leader head on as the other two grabbed the money to go meet up with the others. Unfortunately their greedy endeavors were in vain when Shikamaru, Kakashi, and Tsunade appeared in the kitchen (Shikamaru and Kakashi with happiness on their faces and Tsunade's with annoyance) before seeing a fight before them.
All of them grew shocked before anger ran through their veins, rushing at the other two men. The other two, previously holding the money, were killed almost instantly. Naruto finally defeated the leader, the man choking on his own blood and forced to his knees. Naruto grabbed him forcefully by the collar.
"Where" was the one word out of Naruto's mouth, laced with poison.
"Dead I hope" the leader coughed out with malice making Naruto growl, on the verge of snapping the man's neck.
"My men will kill them both" the leader started laughing before his wounds became too much and he ended up dead on the floor.
"Damn it!" Naruto screamed out, banging his fist on the wall. Shikamaru angrily shut his eyes, his head hanging down in frustration as his fists tightened.
"Wait!" Shikamaru said suddenly, "that means both of them were able to escape."
"That's right!" Tsunade said. Kakashi quickly summoned his ninken.
"Find Sakura and Sasuke!" Kakashi said angrily at them making his ninken scatter fast out of the apartment. Pakkun was jumping through the forest fast, picking up Sakura's cherry blossom scent through the forest as the other ninken spread out in the forest as well. Kakashi, Shikamaru, Naruto and Tsunade were running after them.
"Sakura?" Sasuke whispered out seeing the girls breathing went back down to normal.
"I'm okay. Is it safe for us to stay here for a moment longer?" Sakura asked worriedly.
"I haven't sensed anyone" Sasuke said helping Sakura sit up, letting her sit on her knees at least.
"Is your baby okay?" Sasuke asked with worry.
"Yes. I was able to get the damage of using too much chakra to hit my body instead" Sakura said making Sasuke frown. He would have said something about her being injured but knew he would have done the same thing.
"Not bad for two pregnant people, neh?" Sakura said playfully at him making Sasuke chuckle.
"If you say so" Sasuke said. Pakkun suddenly leaped from the forest landing next to them.
"There you two are! Are you alright!?" Pakkun asked worriedly having Sasuke and Sakura nod at him.
"Sakura is injured but nothing severe to her and the baby is fine" Sasuke said seriously for Sakura making Pakkun frown.
"Alright let me tell them where you are" Pakkun told them before clicking his head set on.
"I found them. There in training field three, hurry" Pakkun said seriously.
Sakura frowned suddenly looking worried at Sasuke.
"What?" Sasuke asked.
"Shikamaru's going to be mad at me" Sakura sighed.
"I think he'd understand" Sasuke said patting her shoulder. Sakura just hoped he was right.
Sakura suddenly heard something whizzing in their direction before seeing Sasuke's arm in front of her, his kunai clanging against a senbon. Sasuke suddenly gasped loudly clutching his stomach before doubling over in pain.
"Sasuke!" Sakura yelled out in worry, picking up his kunai in protection.
"Found you!" one of the men yelled out, all five of them running towards them.
"Can you move Sasuke!?" Pakkun yelled out.
"I think the babies are coming now due to the stress on his body because of the situation!" Sakura yelled out at Pakkun holding Sasuke close to her. Sasuke started convulsing due to the pain startling both of them. The men were closing in on them, Sasuke was ready to give birth, and Sakura couldn't get them out of there.
She held up her fist ready to hit the ground with brute force to get the men to at least scatter. She was about to hit the ground before Tsunade slid in front of her ready for the men to even try and get close to her pupil. Kakashi, Shikamaru, and Naruto were fighting the five other men, Kakashi's ninken joining the fight.
"Tsunade!" Sakura yelled out getting the woman's attention who was trying to concentrate on the fight in front of her.
"Sakura I can't have them harming-" Tsunade began with determination before Sakura interrupted her.
"Sasuke's ready to give birth! We need to get him to the hospital before his children suffocate!" Sakura said with worry. Tsunade was shocked considering he was a week early.
Tsunade jumped towards the two transporting them to the hospital. Tsunade lifted Sasuke onto the bed who was gasping and sweating badly from the pain.
Tsunade started hooking Sasuke up to the machines holding her hand out, "epidural!" Tsunade yelled to Sakura.
Not feeling the shot in her hand she turned to see what the girl was doing before her eyes grew wide. Sakura was collapsed onto the floor out cold.
"Sakura!" Tsunade yelled out in fear before slamming her hand on the wall where the emergency button was, her voice on the intercom.
"I need the closest medical personal to get to this room immediately!" Tsunade roared.
Tsunade placed her hand on Sakura's stomach seeing the baby was fine but she had internal injuries around the fetus. If she wasn't careful then Sakura's injuries were going to get severely worse.
"Hokage-sama!" the head nurse walked in (her, and another woman besides Sakura were the head nurses at the hospital).
"Take Sakura to a room and take care of her injuries. Be careful" Tsunade said with so much seriousness that the other head nurse that just walked in was slightly fearful. Two other nurses helped the two head nurses take Sakura to a room while Tsunade took care of Sasuke.
She quickly gave the man an epidural, repeating exactly what Sakura told her to. She very skillfully giving the man a C-section as two other nurses were coming in watching Sasuke's vital signs and handing Tsunade the things she needed. This continued for about fifteen minutes before a cry was heard. Tsunade handed the baby to one of the nurses who was ready with a blanket before a second cry was heard. Tsunade handed the second baby to the other nurse who was ready with a blanket. Tsunade removed what was left of the make-shift fetus before stitching Sasuke back up, attaching Sasuke to blood drip since he did lose quite a lot of blood since he was having twins and it was a C-section.
Tsunade quickly checked his heart and body before allowing two other nurses to continue the man's checkup. Tsunade left the room quickly needing to check Sakura's injuries and Sasuke's newborn babies.
"Baa-chan!" Naruto yelled out from down the hall with Shikamaru and Kakashi right on her tail. Anbu were taking care of the men that were killed in the training field. Tsunade ignored them jogging down the hall towards Sakura's room.
Naruto, Shikamaru, and Kakashi were breathing heavily in the middle of the hall wondering what was going on with everybody.
Where was Sasuke? Where was Sakura? Were they alright?
All three of them decided to follow Tsunade not knowing what else to do. Tsunade quickly ran in to Sakura's room seeing the nurses concentrating very hard around the woman's stomach. Tsunade joined them noticing that some of her inner wounds were healed while others were still very serious. Tsunade concentrated hard on making her wounds minimal and for them to remain that way. Seeing as they were, after what seemed like eternity, Tsunade quickly left the nurses to continue; she headed towards the maternity ward needing to make sure Naruto's children were healthy.
When she walked in she almost had a heart attack seeing the two new born infants in incubators.
"What happened!?" Tsunade yelled at the two nurses who helped her earlier.
"They are just premature and aren't strong enough yet" one of the nurses said in fear as the other nurse just nodded.
Tsunade breathed slowly checking both infants before collapsing in a chair outside the maternity ward.
"Baa-chan!" Naruto yelled again, turning a corner seeing Tsunade worn out in a chair.
"What happened!? Where is everybody!?" Naruto asked worriedly.
"Because of the situation Sasuke was forced to give a pre-mature birth and Sakura passed out due to chakra depletion and had some sever inner wounds" Tsunade breathed out in exhaustion only to stiffen immediately not meaning for it to sound like that.
When she looked up, Naruto and Shikamaru looked like they were on the verge of tears through their shock.
"What…?" Shikamaru breathed out while Naruto grabbed his shirt, where his heart was, in an iron grip. Tsunade coughed needing to straighten the situation out at least.
"Sasuke will be out for a while, but the birth seemed to be a success in the most part" Tsunade began seeing Naruto look fearful at her.
"The newborns are in incubators due to a slight premature birth but they seem healthy" Tsunade said softly directly the blonde to look through the maternity ward window. Naruto slowly turned from the woman, still shocked while walking towards the window.
"I was able to get Sakura's wounds to minimal but she's out cold as well" Tsunade said to Shikamaru, "she's in the room I last left."
Shikamaru nodded, thanking the woman, before walking quickly back to the room the woman was talking about.
Kakashi was briefing Tsunade about the men they were fighting while Naruto was silently crying through the maternity ward window with so much happiness he thought he might just die like that.
There were only two incubators in the maternity ward while other regular cribs were around.
The first newborn was wrapped in a light blue blanket and had blonde hair with black eyes and was sleepily and calmly looking at him. The second newborn also had a blue blanket and had black hair and black eyes. The second newborn was crying before seeing Naruto who was smiling so happily at them. The second newborn slowly fell asleep cutely.
"I know exactly what to name you" Naruto whispered to no one in particular. Naruto placed his hand on the window needing to see how Sasuke was doing. He past the door he was sure Sakura was in (with an anxious and somewhat angry Shikamaru in it) walking to the other door Tsunade came out of.
When Naruto walked in, seeing Sasuke completely exhausted, his heart sped up a little. But he saw the heart monitor was showing a strong heartbeat, so Naruto relaxed pulling up a chair next to the bed.
"Sasuke-koi, you did it! I love you" Naruto whispered out, kissing Sasuke on the forehead, before resting his head on the new clean blankets Sasuke slept on.
Shikamaru was pacing the room with Sakura sleeping; Shikamaru looking frustrated at the bed, running his hand through his ponytail. Shikamaru wanted to look at Sakura's stomach, but was afraid of what he would see there and was also afraid he would cause Sakura more pain if he touched anything. After a few more minutes of pacing, and his heart moving into his throat, he decided to breathe deeply before moving the blankets over slightly.
He lifted her hospital gown slowly, very carefully and delicately so as to not touch anything. When he did he had to shut his eyes tightly trying to breathe evenly. There was an evident circle that outlined the fetus because it was outlined by bruises. Shikamaru tried with all his powers not to shake the girl in anger but his heart was beating with pride also for the woman to have protected their baby like this.
"I wish I had been there for you. None of this would have happened" Shikamaru said sadly before pulling Sakura's hospital gown down again and pulling the covers up over her. He saw that her vitals were relatively stable so he decided to sleep for a little bit, knowing he couldn't do much more for the night.
Several Days Earlier
Kakashi and Iruka were having an awkward staring contest at the dinner table for about ten minutes. Well Kakashi was just looking at Iruka with hope while Iruka looked at Kakashi briefly, a blush adorning his face, before quickly looking back down at the table.
"It's getting late Kakashi, I'm going to bed okay?" Iruka whispered out getting up from the table quickly.
"Aren't you going to answer the question?" Kakashi asked with haste, following after Iruka. Iruka sighed, ignoring Kakashi for a moment.
"Just yes or no" Kakashi said quickly, "do you want to have more children?"
Iruka was actually surprised that Akeno asked such a question but was even more surprised by the overly happy look on Kakashi's face. Iruka didn't think that it was particularly bad for Akeno to have more siblings; in fact he thought it was a wonderful idea. It was just that his last pregnancy didn't exactly contain happy moments for him. Iruka was just unsure of what would happen and if everything was going to be okay. He was worried about being a good parent for more than one child and he would never want anything to happen to him or the baby upsetting Kakashi and Akeno in the process.
Those were most of the worries Iruka had who looked frustrated at his reflection once he finished brushing his teeth; he ignored Kakashi while walking to their bedroom.
I'm already worried about a child I haven't even had yet Iruka thought glumly washing his face.
"What should I do?" Iruka asked himself. Money wasn't a problem, and Kakashi's father's house was definitely big enough. Their friends accepted them for who they were, as had most of the village. So what was the problem?
I guess I'm insecure about this type of thing Iruka thought glancing down at his stomach. He placed his hand on his stomach, a soft smile on his face, before sighing once again. Iruka walked out of the bathroom before Kakashi walked into the bathroom himself. Iruka took out his ponytail before putting on his pajamas, ready for bed. Iruka forgot to fold some laundry so sat on the floor for a moment, folding some shirts. Kakashi walked out of the bathroom a few minutes later, lying on the bed.
When Iruka turned to him, once finishing his small chore, he saw Kakashi's back to him. Kakashi was lying on his side, his back facing Iruka. Iruka quietly chuckled to himself knowing Kakashi was pouting about Iruka's lack of response to the question.
"Are you pouting Kakashi-kun?" Iruka asked nicely, trying not to laugh. Kakashi harrumphed not responding to the man. Iruka sighed, lying next to him, wondering what he should say to the silver haired man. After a few minutes of lying awkwardly next to Kakashi in the bed, Iruka decided he should probably say something.
"Kashi?" Iruka said very quietly with Kakashi giving no response at all. Iruka sighed wondering if Kakashi was asleep before thinking he might just say what he was thinking about to an unconscious Kakashi instead. At least that way he could practice before actually telling Kakashi when he was awake.
"I-" Iruka began nervously, before taking a deep breathe.
"I think I'd want to have another child with you… it's just that my first pregnancy wasn't exactly full of the greatest moments of my life. If something were to happen to me or the baby…I'd never want to put you and Akeno through that. I'm just so unsure…" Iruka whispered rolling onto his side away from the man. He suddenly felt strong arms wrapping themselves around Iruka's upper body, one going under his arm.
"Iruka…" Kakashi said quietly making Iruka silently curse himself for thinking Kakashi could have been actually sleeping.
"I know that your first pregnancy wasn't perfect, but no one's usually is. I mean neither of us have ever gone through something like that before, so it's not exactly unexpected that things were kind of… messed up. But I would… really like to have another child with you" Kakashi whispered into Iruka's neck before kissing him there.
"Kakashi…I'm just so unsure. Please, let me think about it" Iruka whispered out worriedly. Kakashi sighed into the man's neck before nodding.
"Okay" Kakashi whispered out hoping Iruka really wanted to have another child, but let it go, falling asleep. Iruka stayed awake for a few more minutes deciding he'll make his decision tomorrow. After all Kakashi was on guard duty with Naruto (they both had an evil scheme of stealing Tsunade's liquor so that was their punishment from the old woman) from 10:00-2:00 and Akeno had school so this was his only chance to talk to Sakura.
Iruka woke up early the next morning making himself some tea and once again having an awkward staring contest with Kakashi.
"Goodbye Okaa-san!" Akeno said happily, hugging Iruka around his thigh before running to the front door.
"Come on Tou-san!" Akeno said opening the door. Kakashi kissed Iruka on the cheek, biting his lip in worry, unconsciously, before putting his mask back on and leaving with Akeno. It was already almost ten and he decided to walk to the Nara complex, knocking on the door. Sakura answered the door, peeking out slightly, before opening the door wider and smiling at the man.
"Iruka-sensei! How are you? I haven't seen you in a while" Sakura said happily, letting the man in.
"Where is Shikamaru-san?" Iruka asked curiously.
"He said he had to stop by the mission room for something" Sakura said, suspicion obvious in her voice making Iruka chuckle.
"How is your baby doing?" Iruka asked curiously seeing Sakura pretty far into her pregnancy.
"Good," Sakura said smiling at him happily, her hands covering her stomach.
"Anyway what can I do for you?" Sakura asked curiously, leading the man to sit onto the couch.
"Well Kakashi and I were talking last night, mostly because Akeno brought it up but I've been so unsure" Iruka spoke softly.
"I don't follow…" Sakura said gently wondering why the man was acting so flustered.
"L-Last night Akeno asked if he could have a…" Iruka tried, coughing slightly in embarrassment. Sakura leaned forward considering Iruka was only whispering at this point, wanting to hear the man.
"A sibling" Iruka whispered out. Sakura lifted up her eyebrow confused wanting the man to continue, although her excitement was growing.
"Kakashi also wants… another... baby" Iruka finished, a blush reaching all the way to his ears. Sakura's smile was just growing as she watched the man.
"Is that what you want as well?" Sakura asked happily.
"I'm just unsure. My other pregnancy wasn't… great… and is it even possible?" Iruka asked curiously.
"I don't know. I haven't done it before. You're my little guinea pig!" Sakura said giddily.
"Thanks" Iruka sweat dropped.
"Why are you unsure though?" Sakura asked quietly.
"I… don't know the reason myself" Iruka sighed sadly.
"Well you know what to do now right? I mean you won't be mal-nutritious again since you aren't stressed (or would be less stressed), and you know Kakashi wants another child" Sakura tried explaining.
"What if something happens to me or the baby again? I couldn't put Kakashi or Akeno through that" Iruka said feeling awful.
"Iruka-sensei" Sakura said, putting her hands onto the man's shoulders, "you will protect this baby and your family, with the same strength you had the first time. And that strength was magnificent."
Iruka looked at her with worry, before his smile started growing on his face and then a full blown smile appeared.
"So," Sakura started, "when would you like to be pregnant?" Sakura said happily making Iruka splutter and blush.
"Want me to surprise you again" Sakura said with an evil glint in her eyes.
"No thank you!" Iruka yelled blushing.
"So you'll discuss it with Kakashi-sensei then? I want to see that" Sakura smirked at him. Iruka huffed at her before telling her he'd discuss it with her later. Sakura just giggled a goodbye at him.
Sakura had a feeling that Kakashi was going to discuss with her in secret about Iruka's danger level again and if it was possible to have a second child with Iruka; she was kind of curious about the meeting that was sure to happen.
Iruka walked in a daze around the village just thinking about what was about to happen to him again.
"Okaa-san!" Akeno yelled from the mission building before jumping into the man's arms.
"Akeno" Iruka said happily kissing the boy all over his face moving the boy over onto his hip.
"And how is my Otokonoko* today?" Iruka asked resting his head on top of his son's.
"Okaa-san!" Akeno whined, "I'm not a baby!"
"But you'll always be my baby" Iruka said softly, kissing Akeno making the boy roll his eyes before chuckling.
"Yes Okaa-san. But if I have a sibling, then I won't be your only baby right?" Akeno asked curiously.
"Are you okay with that?" Iruka asked seriously.
"Yes!" Akeno said cutely, "because family is important. Tou-san told me that. So if we have more people for our family, then we'll be the important-est!"
Iruka had a slight blush before smiling.
"Your Tou-san is right" Iruka said making Akeno nod happily.
"I know I'm usually right, but about what this time?" Kakashi asked curiously surprising both Iruka and Akeno.
"Tou-san!" Akeno yelled happily, waving his arms happily at the man having Iruka place him into his father's arms.
"So what am I right about?" Kakashi asked curiously.
"First off you aren't always right" Iruka said, hands on his hips, "and second off you don't need to know."
This only made Kakashi sweat drop and made Akeno chuckle.
Iruka suddenly noticed a nervous look in Kakashi's eyes before it was gone in another moment.
"So did you get that mission scroll I asked for from Raidou-san?" Kakashi asked his son. Akeno nodded telling his father everything he did.
"Kashi?" Iruka whispered to the man, tugging slightly on his sleeve in worry. Iruka and Kakashi stared at each other for a moment, Kakashi with the look of apology, while Iruka looked at him with concern.
"Very good" Kakashi said, looking back at Akeno, the smile obvious underneath Akeno's mask.
Both walked back home, Kakashi explaining the parameters of the C-class mission he and Akeno were going to go on soon before they all had dinner. After dinner, Akeno was going to bed early to go train with his father in the morning. Iruka moved to sitting on the couch drinking a cup of coffee, looking worriedly into his cup.
Was Kakashi upset at him? Iruka was just lost. He was almost perfectly determined to have a baby with the man, but would Kakashi be so hurt if Iruka decided not to have the baby?
"Your face will freeze that way koi" Kakashi said gently, sitting next to the man, before lifting up Iruka's chin gently.
Iruka looked sadly at him before looking back into his cup.
"Iruka…" Kakashi said with worry, hugging Iruka suddenly almost surprising the man.
"I'm so sorry for pushing you again. Forcing you to do something you were so unsure about. I feel awful. It's your decision to make and I'll be happy with whatever you decide, really" Kakashi said quietly.
"I…" Iruka began standing up, setting his coffee down as he did so, from Kakashi making Kakashi frown; Iruka left his arms after all.
"I'm lost" Iruka said suddenly, confusing the man.
"I thought I'd be hurting you if I didn't agree and I thought you were upset with me. I didn't know what to do at all" Iruka rubbed his arms for warmth before feeling strong arms encircle him again.
"Please forgive me. I don't know what came over me. It's just… once I knew I was able to have a family with you, all I wanted was more" Kakashi said sadly.
"It's okay, to want something like that" Iruka whispered out.
"It isn't okay if I have to force you" Kakashi said as a rebuttal.
"You didn't force me. You asked me a question" Iruka said seriously. Kakashi just hugged him tighter worried Iruka was mad at him.
"I made my decision" Iruka whispered feeling Kakashi stiffen, "I'd like to… make our family bigger."
Once the sentence was out, Iruka's mouth was attacked in a fiery kiss, Kakashi holding him so tightly.
"I would still" a lovely kiss by Kakashi, "be okay" another kiss by Kakashi, "if you didn't want to."
Kakashi looked seriously into Iruka's eyes only to have Iruka's eyes full of kindness.
"I'm nervous but, if you're with me, I hope that nervousness goes away" Iruka said with worry.
"I'll always be with you koi, forever" Kakashi said, kissing him with so much passion.
"Me too" Iruka said happily before being lifted up by the man bridal style.
"Kashi!" Iruka said surprised.
"I'll always love you Iruka" Kakashi whispered into the man's ear before kissing him there.
"And I'll always love you too" Iruka repeated with a blush.
"So how about we go make a baby!" Kakashi smiled happily bouncing his eyebrows up and down at the man.
"We haven't decided when we want this to happen yet!" Iruka yelled flustered.
"The sooner the better right?" Kakashi said happily.
"We don't even know how things are going to work this time anyway. I'm the guinea pig after all" Iruka said, rolling his eyes.
"Yes, but you are a very cute guinea pig" Kakashi smiled at the man, placing him onto the bed.
"Idiot"
Sasuke blearily woke up four days later, with an anxious Naruto coming in to visit him every second of the day when he was sleeping. Sasuke tried sitting up, but it was a somewhat difficult task. After two very long minutes, he was able to lean back on the back board.
Sasuke suddenly had a heart attack noticing his stomach was now flat. The minute he touched his stomach, he suddenly had a flashback of the fight scene. Sasuke gasped at the realization and tried with all his might to get off of the bed and see where his babies were. Unfortunately, his legs hadn't quite woken up yet so he collapsed onto the floor with a thump.
"Ow…" Sasuke said annoyed to no one in particular.
"Sasuke!" Naruto yelled worriedly, coming into the man's room again after having a quick lunch and stopping by the maternity ward to see his adorable children again.
Naruto's face went from shocked to concerned before quickly picking Sasuke up, helping the man back onto the bed.
"You alright?" Naruto asked with so much worry making Sasuke have a slight tint on his cheeks.
"I'm fine" Sasuke said quietly having Naruto smiling one of his stunning bright smiles.
"Arigato" Naruto said happily only having Sasuke's blush grow on his cheeks.
"Dobe…" Sasuke said, rubbing his nose to get his blush to go away.
"Are the babies okay?" Sasuke asked with slight worry since he gave birth a week early.
"Yes. They are still in incubators since it was a slighty premature birth or something but Baa-chan said they are healthy" Naruto said, trying to remember everything Tsunade said for Sasuke's sake.
"Why are they in incubators for?" Sasuke asked confused. The babies weren't that permature or anything.
"Baa-chan said something along the lines of 'it's for safety purposes' and that Sakura ordered all children born from males to be in incubators until Sakura-chan checks on them. Since Sakura-chan is still out cold, Tsunade-sama was going to wait until she woke up; I think she said Sakura-chan was supposed to wake up around the same time you do or something" Naruto said, his memory of the conversation running on empty.
Sasuke breathed a sigh of relief before a small smile was trying to make its way onto his face. Naruto suddenly kissed him softly, Sasuke return the kiss and enjoying it so much, before Naruto sat next to his bed in a hospital chair.
"Naruto-kun…um… would it be possible for us to see our babies?" Sasuke asked with worry. Naruto's eyebrows scrunched up with slight frustration.
"You should stay in bed for a few more days Teme and the babies can't leave the maternity ward until Sakura-chan gives the okay," Naruto told him seriously. Sasuke looked down with a sigh but he was really eager to see them, to make this entire dream real.
Maybe I could sneak out later Sasuke thought to himself wondering when the blonde was going to leave again.
"Hey brat, I need to check the Uchiha" Tsunade said briskly walking in making Naruto pout at her.
Tsunade checked his stomach thoroughly along with his heart and other vital organs determining that everything was fine.
"You should be able to walk around in a two or three more days," Tsunade said finishing his checkup.
"And the babies?" Sasuke asked with slight worry.
"I'm sure Naruto has told you about them but they should be out of their incubators in another week or so, so don't worry" Tsunade said seriously.
"Anyway brat I need you to see if you can identify any of the men that attacked Sasuke and Sakura" Tsunade said seriously.
"But Baa-chan!" Naruto whined at the woman receiving a smack to the head.
"Now brat" Tsunade said leaving the room, Naruto slowly following after her.
"Be right back okay?" Naruto said apologetically, kissing Sasuke softly, "and don't go anywhere" Naruto said jokingly.
Sasuke tried looking like he wasn't just caught thinking about leaving his bed which made Naruto look at him strangely.
"What?" Naruto asked curiously.
"Nothing" Sasuke said quickly. A little too quickly making Naruto entirely suspicious.
"I will be right back" Naruto said, pointing at him. Naruto left in a hurry, wanting to come back quickly. Sasuke waited for exactly thirty seconds before getting off of the bed; which actually took a good three minutes to do. Sasuke didn't really want to walk down in his hospital gown, so decided to put on hospital grade pants and shirt before peeking out his room. Seeing a nurse walk around a corner, he left his room walking very slowly since his legs weren't working well quite yet. He read the signs in the hallway that led to the maternity ward before the open glass windows came into view.
Sasuke was excited to see his children and he almost felt his heart stop, seeing the only two children in incubators. Sasuke covered his mouth, trying to quiet his gasp.
"My Daiisshi and Dainishi… my baby boys" Sasuke breathed out happily. Sasuke wanted a closer look at his children; he couldn't wait anymore. He opened the maternity ward 'nurses only' door, sneaking past the nurse on duty there, before entering the glass room. Sasuke was probably already at hospital grade sanitization for the last three days, but he was sure to avoid the other children in case he wasn't perfectly clean. He went to the first incubator that had the blonde haired child inside, sleeping peacefully. He looked into the one next to it that had the black haired child in it. Both made him smile happily.
Naruto was only gone for twenty minutes, coming back with Tsunade before his eyebrow twitched in annoyance seeing the room empty.
"The maternity room" Tsunade said.
"The maternity room" Naruto repeated, both walking quickly down to the area. When they turned the corner they saw a nurse was completely terrified with another nurse trying to calm her down.
"What's going on here?" Tsunade asked seriously.
"Mr. Uchiha scared the nurse! He isn't supposed to be in there Hokage-sama!" The nurse calming down the other terrified nurse told the blonde woman.
"Sasuke-kun you didn't have to scare the nurse" Naruto said, rolling his eyes once entering the room with all the babies.
"Can't we hold them?" Sasuke asked with a pleading look making Naruto soften his eyes at the man. Sasuke's hands were pressed against the glass of the incubator.
"Well…" Naruto began, walking towards the man.
"No you can't. Both of you get out now" Tsunade said, busting in through the room.
"But Baa-chan" Naruto said with a pleading look in his eyes at the woman.
"You should be able to hold your children in about a week" Tsunade said crossing her arms.
"Just for a minute" Sasuke asked seriously. Tsunade rolled her eyes knowing it was going to be impossible to convince either of them to leave that room.
"One" Tsunade said. She opened the incubator picking up the blonde haired infant handing him to Sasuke who very carefully and lovingly held him. Sasuke gently caressed his son's face causing the baby to slowly flutter its eyes open at him. The child lifted its hand up touching Sasuke's face, curiously observing him. Naruto was handed the other child with the black hair who was excited touching Naruto's face everywhere tugging at Naruto's hair and giggling. Naruto just had that bright big smile plastered on his face.
Sasuke and Naruto looked at each other as if they could see the other's soul for a moment before Tsunade took the black haired child from Naruto for a minute so the blonde haired child was placed into Naruto's hands and then the black haired child was placed into Sasuke's hands who started playing with Sasuke's hair and happily gurgling at him.
"I know what to name them Sasuke" Naruto said quietly, smiling up at Sasuke who looked surprised before smiling as well.
"That little rascal in your hands, I was thinking he could be Akarui* and for this sweet pea here" Naruto said quietly kissing the baby, in his hands, on the forehead, "Ansei*."
"It's perfect Naruto" Sasuke said quietly, kissing the happy child in his hands on the forehead as well. Sasuke leaned down to Naruto's arms kissing the blonde haired child on the forehead as well. Naruto repeated the motion so he was able to kiss the black haired child in Sasuke's arms. Naruto and Sasuke looked at each other with so much happiness before gently kissing each other. Both of them were shoulder to shoulder, leaned in towards each other happily.
"Alright you two, time to get Sasuke back to his room and these babies back into their incubators, which are Sakura's rules not mine, or you're going to have to wait a lot longer to hold them again" Tsunade said seriously having to personally take the babies out of their arms.
"Come on Sasuke" Naruto said softly having to gently tug Sasuke out of the room, both of them passing by the scared nurse.
"Don't worry honey, they're our family. They'll be ours forever" Naruto whispered into Sasuke's ear, kissing the man softly with so much love, Sasuke returning the kiss. Both fell asleep, unable to wait to hold their children again
Sakura woke up a day after Sasuke woke up seeing that she was in a room in the hospital.
"Sakura-chan, you're finally awake" Sasuke said causing the woman to glance to her right.
"Sasuke-kun…" Sakura started slowly before becoming worried, "the babies!" Sakura sat up quickly only to have Sasuke pat her arm telling her everything was fine.
"Tsunade took care of it, don't worry" Sasuke said reassuringly. He explained to her how the babies were only slightly premature, but healthy and that he was fine as well. He also told her that he would like Sakura to at least give the okay for his babies to be out of the incubators.
"Sorry I couldn't help out" Sakura said apologetically, "and I'll get to your children soon, okay?"
"You got us out of the apartment. If you hadn't done that I don't want to think of what could have happened to us. So thank you for everything" Sasuke said making Sakura smile.
"What about… me?" Sakura asked worriedly.
"Tsunade-sama said that you had some critical spots around your stomach but most of it is healed by now. Everyone will be happy that you woke up though" Sasuke said nodding.
"Except for Shikamaru-kun, huh?" Sakura said sadly.
"Don't say that. I think he's been worried about you this entire time" Sasuke said seriously. Sakura sighed but was not too sure about that herself.
"Well I'm going to the maternity ward" Sasuke said about to leave.
"Your babies aren't going to get out any faster no matter how many times you visit them" Sakura snickered at the man. Sasuke just rolled her eyes at the woman wishing things did work that way, before exiting the room. Sakura sighed rubbing her stomach before Shikamaru walked in a few minutes later.
"You're awake!" Shikamaru said with surprise, sitting next to her on the bed.
"How are you feeling?" Shikamaru asked with worry touching the hand that was on her stomach gently.
"Tired, but I'm okay" Sakura said gently.
"Shika…" Sakura said nervously, "about what happened a few days ago, the choice I made…"
"Wasn't a choice I particularly liked, but was a better choice than others I suppose" Shikamaru sighed out.
"I still caused you trouble" Sakura said sadly.
"You are a troublesome woman, but I love you" Shikamaru said kindly.
"But the baby-" Sakura began.
"Was protected by you" Shikamaru replied, "thank you."
Shikamaru kissed her softly, Sakura returning the kiss.
"I thought you'd be mad" Sakura said quietly, "or at least annoyed."
"I was more worried about you both than anything" Shikamaru said quietly, moving a strand of her hair behind her ear. Sakura hugged him suddenly making Shikamaru smile into her hair. Shikamaru moved to sitting behind Sakura, Sakura's back resting against his chest.
"How does your body feel?" Shikamaru asked curiously, his hands slowly resting onto Sakura's protruding stomach gently.
"Achy but I'll live" Sakura said, her hands going on top of Shikamaru's, their hands lightly holding each other. Shikamaru started rubbing Sakura's stomach happily.
"You know you and Tsunade-sama never told me what gender the baby was" Shikamaru sighed into Sakura's neck.
"It's a girl" Sakura said quietly feeling Shikamaru's hands stop for a moment.
"Really?" Shikamaru asked, trying to hide some of his excitement.
"Yes" Sakura said with slight worry.
"I'm happy, thank you" Shikamaru said, kissing her neck softly. Sakura smiled, leaning her head back slightly to give Shikamaru a gentle kiss.
"You're welcome"
(Two years after Sasuke's children are born – the near death experience Iruka and Akeno had has already happened)
Iruka woke up drowsily from last night of raucous love making with Kakashi. Iruka stretched out his hand to find the warmth that was Kakashi but was unable to find him in the bed. Iruka sat up slowly, stretching, before putting on clothes and looking around the house. Iruka was in the kitchen, feeling hungry, but knew better than to make anything without people around to watch him.
"Iruka-kun!" Kakashi said excitedly, finding the man in the kitchen.
"Are you ready?" Kakashi asked, hugging the man tightly, kissing the man all over the neck.
"Hatake, Kakashi. Don't tell me you were bothering Sakura-san this early in the morning" Iruka said, hands on his hips.
"She was already awake" Kakashi whispered out, pouting.
"Okaa-san is loud" Akeno yawned walking out in his pajamas.
"It's your Tou-san's fault" Iruka huffed out making Akeno chuckle, lifting up his arms to be held. Iruka picked him up, kissing him on the head.
"Your Okaa-san and I have a surprise for you" Kakashi said, ruffling the child's hair. Akeno had the look of pure excitement on his face waiting to hear what they were going to tell him.
"Your Okaa-san and I decided that you are going to have a sibling in several months" Kakashi said, wrapping his arm around Iruka's shoulders.
"Really!?" Akeno asked excitedly, "yay!"
Akeno started wiggling up and down in Iruka's arms (trying to jump up and down) making both men laugh.
"Now go off and play with Pakkun okay?" Kakashi said lifting the boy out of Iruka's arms, setting him down to run off through the house.
A knock was suddenly heard at the door and they knew exactly who it was.
"Ready?" Kakashi whispered, smoothing some of Iruka's hair down looking deeply into his eyes for any kind of regret. Iruka and Kakashi decided that it may be best to have another child when Akeno was a little older. That way Akeno would be able to with stand some of the responsibilities that came with being an older sibling.
"I hope" Iruka said nervously, kissing Kakashi softly before answering the door.
"Hi Iruka-sensei" Sakura said happily, Shikamaru with her.
"Hello" Iruka said a little nervously.
"Why are you here kid?" Kakashi asked Shikamaru curiously.
"I've never seen this type of thing done before and it sounded interesting" Shikamaru said shrugging.
"Yeah, me either" Iruka and Kakashi said at the same time before chuckling.
"Well let's start," Sakura said happily, "I'll need you to lie down on something flat."
"Is the floor alright?" Iruka asked curiously getting a head nod from Sakura.
"You can put a pillow under your head if you like" Sakura said as Kakashi and Shikamaru sat on one side of Iruka while Sakura sat on the other side of Iruka; Kakashi placed a pillow under Iruka's head, kissing him on the forehead before all three observed Sakura.
Sakura lifted Iruka's shirt up taking a cotton ball with alcohol on it, rubbing it on the man's stomach. Sakura put on heavy duty looking gloves and took out a jar with black paste taking a scoop of the substance into her hand. Sakura very carefully and very precisely placed the paste onto Iruka's stomach in a very thin layer, seeing the paste disappearing every time she put a new layer onto Iruka's stomach.
Once the container was empty of the paste, Sakura very carefully took off her gloves and then burned them which created blue smoke until there was nothing left. Sakura sat and waited staring at Iruka's stomach.
"Is that it?" Iruka asked very quietly.
"How did it feel?" Kakashi asked Iruka just as quietly.
"It was cold and grainy" Iruka said quietly.
"How long will this take?" Shikamaru asked curiously.
"Just a few minutes. But I don't know if it'll work" Sakura whispered, concentrating again.
All three men watched Sakura, wondering what was going to happen. Sakura very slowly put her hand onto Iruka's stomach, her brows furrowing for a moment.
Kakashi grabbed Iruka's hand hoping it worked. Iruka and Kakashi looked at each other, both with the same look in their eyes.
"I don't see…" Sakura began slowly making Iruka close his eyes in sadness and Kakashi look down at the floor along with Shikamaru.
"Oh wait…wait" Sakura said, concentrating a bit more making Iruka open his eye and for Kakashi and Shikamaru to look at her once more.
"Oh, yep. There it is!" Sakura said happily, thrilled that it worked again. Kakashi and Iruka looked at each other for a brief moment before Kakashi kissed him happily making Shikamaru and Sakura literally say 'gross' out loud.
"It's right there" Sakura said pointing to the middle left of his abdomen, "I think. We'll know more in about a few weeks okay?"
Kakashi helped Iruka off of the floor before Sakura and Shikamaru got up and left, wishing them luck and that Sakura would check on Iruka in about two weeks.
"Kakashi" Iruka said quietly getting the man's attention, both facing each other with so much passion in their eyes.
"I'm pregnant" Iruka almost burst out, a blush covering his face.
Kakashi hugged him immediately, laughing softly; a laugh Iruka would loved to hear for the rest of his life (which he was planning on doing).
"Thank you" Kakashi said continuously kissing Iruka before he lifted the man up, spinning around.
"Okaa-san!" Akeno yelled from the hallway that led to the 'kennel,' running into the kitchen until he got to the living room.
"Akeno! You are covered with dirt!" Iruka said, hands on his hips.
"I know…" Akeno said cutely, looking down at the floor, nudging his foot against the ground.
"So cute!" Iruka said picking Akeno up and kissing the one place on his face that wasn't completely dirty.
"Iruka! Be careful!" Kakashi said seriously, worried.
"What's wrong!?" Akeno asked scared.
"Don't worry Akeno-sweetie, your Tou-san is just worried about your sibling" Iruka chuckled.
"They're here!? Yay! Where, where, where!? Akeno started kicking around in Iruka's arms trying to find his sibling. Of course he was immediately lifted out of Iruka's arms by a possessive Kakashi who almost had a heart attack when Akeno started kicking around.
"Akeno there are some rules okay?" Kakashi said seriously, sitting down on the floor with Akeno following suit.
"Kakashi…" Iruka said embarrassed.
"Your sibling is growing inside your Okaa-san. In about nine months' time, they will be born. They are right here" Kakashi said, his hand gently splayed out on Iruka's stomach making the man blush, putting his own hand on top of Kakashi's. They both looked at each other for a moment with so much love before Kakashi continued.
"Since your baby brother or sister is in your Okaa-san's tummy, you must not move around when you are picked up by your Okaa-san. Your Okaa-san will get bigger to fit the baby but don't mention that. We must make sure that this area right here needs to be protected, along with the rest of your Okaa-san. Okay?"
"Yes daddy" Akeno said cutely, "we'll always protect Okaa-san and now my baby brother or sister."
Kakashi kissed Akeno on the head before telling the boy that he needed to go take a bath before things started growing on him.
"Kashi… did you really have to say that" Iruka whispered out, his blush reaching his ears.
"He needs to understand that if he wants a sibling, he must protect you and our baby" Kakashi said seriously. Iruka nodded before kissing Kakashi shyly.
"So cute!" Kakashi smiled happily making Iruka roll his eyes at the man.
"No how about I make you and the baby something to eat, okay?" Kakashi beamed at him making Iruka shake his head at Kakashi, but couldn't erase the smile from his face.
Kakashi kissed Iruka suddenly holding him almost crushingly. There breathing matched kiss after breathless kiss. Hands roamed over bodies as muscles tensed together. Kakashi's hands wandered to Iruka's stomach, Iruka's own hands covering Kakashi's.
"My family"
The years passed by for the village, each couple gaining a larger family; one that they loved for the rest of their lives.
Kotetsu and Izumo had a child two (she would be about three) years after Akeno was born; it was a baby girl. Genma and Raidou decided to have a child three years after them and it was a baby boy. Naruto and Sasuke were ready to have another child seven years after their twins were born and their third born child was a girl with black hair and blue eyes. Not surprisingly both Naruto and Sasuke's two boys gained the Sharingan from their Okaa-san and were almost through the Ninja Acadamy as fast as Akeno was. Sakura and Shikamaru had another child a few years after their daughter was born and had a little boy.
As for Akeno, he made it into Anbu around the same time Kakashi did and was considered the second white fang (Kakashi was very proud). Iruka soon had his baby and it was a baby boy that looked exactly like Iruka (without the scare across the bridge of his nose of course). Akeno loved his brother more than anything along with his parents and his name was Kamoku.* He was very smart but did not talk much and did things at a very calm pace. He was almost as good as Akeno but was scared of people he didn't know. He was definitely protected by almost everyone. He was bound to catch up to his brother and Akeno was happily helping him and teaching him along with Kakashi. The ninja flowers that Kakashi and Iruka had were re-planted in a single pot by the two men; the very roots of the plants now entwined permanently.
Each family loved one another and no one was lonely and always had someone there for them.
It was time for their children to pass through the paths their parents paved for them and create their own legend.
