Side-story/sequel to Clutz: Classes in Tokyo U are never boring, considering how Sakura has at least one Akatsuki member in all her classes. Is it too late to transfer?
School Festival - 3
Sakura stared at the students running around all over campus. It was the week before the school festival and the university was full of students busy preparing for their own booths. As she stepped around the students making the balloon gate, she walked over to the Akatsuki basketball members who were lounging on an empty spot on the lawn.
"Aren't we in charge of a cosplay event?" Sakura asked, curious on why the members didn't look anywhere close to being busy, "Don't we need to prepare?"
Pein chuckled and pulled the girl towards him. With a yelp, she landed on his lap as he hugged her from behind with her head tucked underneath his chin. Amidst the glares of the other team members, Pein replied to her, "Others have enthusiastically 'volunteered' to prepare everything for us. We just need to show up to the festival."
Hearing those words, Sakura relaxed and was secretly glad. That meant that during the festival preparations, she could catch up on studying. Sakura gently pulled away from Pein's hug - to his disappointment - as she dug through her backpack to get her notes. Before she could enter the world of mathematical proofs, she glanced at what Kakuzu was doing, "Kakuzu-san, when did you buy a DSLR?"
"Investment," he grunted.
…
Sakura could feel her jaw unhinge as she stared at the 'set' the basketball members would be staying at during the school festival. It looked like a room from the Forbidden Palace itself, complete with a golden dragon throne in the middle of the gym, elevated on a pedestal of three steps.
Members of the drama club were showing each member their location and what actions they would be doing during the festival, hearts in their eyes as they stared at the Akatsuki team. After being told on their actions, the members of the sewing club came running in with all the costumes. After each member got their costume, Sakura walked with Konan to the women's bathroom to change.
"Do you think they have my measurements correctly? I'd feel really bad if it doesn't fit properly." Sakura asked her dorm roommate as she held the silk cloth skeptically.
"Don't worry Sakura-chan" Konan had already finished dressing up and was putting her hair into a bun with an origami flower, "The people who visit today will be mostly rabid fan girls. They won't pay attention to us."
Her words gave Sakura immense relief, since Sakura was generally very shy in front of crowds.
Finishing with her hair, Konan turned towards Sakura who was still struggling with her robes, "Here, I'll help you."
…
"What's taking them so long?" Deidara complained as he sat on the cushion he was supposed to stay at for the duration of the festival. He was sitting cross legged in front of a short table. In his right hand was a large calligraphy brush and on the table was a scroll with kanji written all over it. It did not take much to recognize his costume as a scholar. He wore a long pale green robe similar to a yukata in style that was tied at his waist and his hair was pulled up to a high ponytail instead of his usual half up. Slits on both sides of his waist opened the otherwise confining robes, showing that underneath his robes were yellow pants that were tied by laces at his calves and on his feet were soft black slippers.
"Shut your mouth Deidara. Do not test my patience." Sasori replied grumpily, seated five feet away from him and twirling a similar calligraphy brush. The redhead was wearing robes that were identical to Deidara, with the exception of being maroon in color instead of green. By his side was a large scroll with a half completed painting to complete the look of a calligraphy painter.
"Geez Sasori, what's got your panties all in a twist?" Hidan snarkily remarked. Hidan was reclining on a chair instead of the floor cushions. The man in question was dressed in plain brown robes that screamed Xiaolin monks. But instead of properly tying the front of his robes closed, the man had left them open, showing off a generous amount of chest and abs. The scythe that he normally carried around was instead replaced with a long pole.
"He's probably just impatient to see Sakura, and so am I" Zetsu replied, sitting on the stairs leading up to the dragon throne. He was required to be standing for the most part during the exhibit, so he was taking advantage of the fact that the festival hadn't started yet to be lazy. Zetsu wore navy long court robes of an imperial official. The look was completed with a cone-shaped black hat with red strings fanning all over it.
"Does anyone remember what Sakura's costume was?" Pein asked, sitting on the dragon throne above Zetsu. He was wearing golden robes with a dragon coiling through clouds embroidered on his robes. He had decided to forgo the hat normally worn on emperors and left it hanging on the back of his throne, completely forgotten.
"Tobi thinks Sakura-chan was supposed to be a pretty princess!" Tobi replied, jumping up and down from excitement. Tobi was dressed as a page boy, with short blue robes and black pants. The cone shaped hat on his head was tilted from his actions, giving him an adorable look. The young Akatsuki member who captured the motherly instincts of all fangirls looked even more deadly in his simple cotton page robes.
"Guess that'll be interesting, don't you think so Itachi?" Kisame addressed the Uchiha next to him. The two of them wore matching short black robes with black pants. But on top of the robes was a set of metal armor, complete with a chest plate and guards for the arms and legs. Kisame had a large sword strapped to his back while Itachi had a thin sword hanging on his waist. The two of them were imperial guards and looked very intimidating, to the jealousy of the others.
"How come you guys get to wear armor! I only have this stupid dinky robe yeah!" Deidara whined, looking at their armor and swords in envy.
"You're such a girly girl that you only get to wear silk robes!" Hidan cackled as he pointed his fingers at Deidara.
Deidara jumped up from his cushion and yelled "I'll get you for this, stupid monk!"
As Sasori grabbed the angry blonde from jumping at the laughing Hidan, he growled out, "Stop it you imbecile, Sakura's here."
All the Akatsuki team members stopped their squabbling as they turned towards the opening doors.
Konan walked in delicately. Her midnight blue robes with silver flowers embroidered throughout matched her hair that was tied up in an intricate bun. A silver sash acted as a belt that cinched her robes at the waist and she looked every inch the noblewoman she was dressed as.
Konan turned around, and pulled at the hand that was nervously holding onto her as if for dear life. When the owner of the hand appeared, all the members felt their hearts leap up in their chests.
Sakura walked in nervously, embarrassed at her state of attire. She wore a plain cream robe that wrapped around her like a kimono. A red silk belt emphasized her narrow waist and the end of the belt hung down on her right side to her knees. Her sleeves were so long and wide that if she put her hands down, they would touch the floor. Wrapped around her arms like a shawl that fell off the shoulders was a long sheer cloth of pink. Her hair was down and it gave her an innocent look. Overall, she resembled a fairy that came down from the heavens itself.
A wave of silence enveloped the gym as everyone stared at Sakura. The moment was broken when Itachi walked up to Sakura and gently held up her hand.
"Hime-sama" Itachi knelt down and kissed the tips of her fingers, "You look wonderful."
"Don't you dare try pulling a fast one on us!" Deidara yelled, rushing towards the offending Uchiha.
As Hidan joined the mix, Konan gently steered Sakura away from the forming brawl towards the throne, where Sakura was stationed.
Pein had walked down the throne and gently took Sakura's hand, "Your place is here, my princess."
Did you guys think I forgot Kakuzu? I didn't. He'll be a surprise next chapter haha~
Cheers,
