The Bijū, beasts of myth and legend, are one by one returning to the mortal world. Yet they are not alone. Old forgotten bloodlines are once again awakening in heroes and villains, ancient contracts are being found, and the following battles will shake the world.

The Tailed Beasts; Bijū. Large, living forms of chakra, sometimes referred to as "Chakra Monsters", or Chakura no Bakemono, giving them power that far outmatches most shinobi. However, this immense strength is tempered due to their bestial nature, which restricts them from being intelligent enough to use it effectively.

However, once sealed within humans, known as jinchūriki, they are able to benefit from the knowledge of their hosts, giving them the ability to speak and better utilize their powers. The group known as Akatsuki had been capturing the Jinchūriki, and sealing the Bijū, and as of the start of the Fourth Great Shinobi World War, they had captured and sealed all but two; the Hachibi and the Kyūbi.

Most records of the war had been lost, so all that is known is that The Shinobi Alliance won. One of the older records, a journal of the Nanadaime Hokage, stated that right before the hosts of the final two Bijū died, they allowed the group Hakumei (Twilight) to seal away the Hachibi and Kyūbi. A group of ten shinobi given the job of guarding the Gedo Mazo, the statue in which the Bijū had been sealed by Akatsuki, by the council of the Gokage (Five Kages), Hakumei was the Alliance's response to the now-defunct Alatsuki. They were a safeguard, both for the shinobi, and for the Biju.

After the final Bijū, the Kyūbi, was sealed away, Hakumei hid the Gedo Mazo away for the purpose of keeping the tailed beasts out of the hands of the ones willing to use them for evil. Unfortunately, a century that, two-hundred years after the end of the Fourth War, the combined force of the Bijū's chakra overwhelmed the statue, causing it to explode, obliterating almost everything within two-hundred miles of the blast. Said blast also almost succeeded in destroying human-kind, with an unknown consequence being the dispersal the Bijū around the world. Tired from losing most of their chakra from the explosion, they would enter hibernation for the next few thousand years.

However, they were not the only ones to do so.

The amount of chakra released forced the kekkei genkai of the various shinobi clans, like the Hyūga's, and the Inuzuka's, into hibernation. As time passed, and while the face of the Earth changed, human-kind would show its resilience by coming back from the brink of destruction. Now, millions of years later, in the early 21st century, mutants and aliens live among us. Some seem to destroy us, while others seek to protect us. However, the Bijū are starting to wake, and so are forgotten abilities, throwing carefully set plans in disarray and changing the playing field forever.

Ichibi no Shukaku. The One-Tailed Tanuki, the psychotic sentient chakra construct was sent by the explosion into the part of the world later to become Africa. When he went to sleep, his remaining chakra created what is now known as the Sahara. He wishes to kill everything it can, including his siblings if he can.

(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)

Nibi no Bakeneko. The Two-Tailed Monster Cat, she was also sent by the explosion into Africa into what is now Egypt, where she was worshiped as the Cat-god Bastet. Ironically, she sleeps less than ten miles from the Sphinx. She wishes to see if there are any descendants of Yugito's, her old host, sister, Samui, and if there are, to meet them. She also wishes to meet up with the Hachibi, since their hosts were friends.

(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)

Sanbi no Kyodaigame. The Three-Tailed Giant Turtle, it was sent by the explosion to the area known as the Bermuda Triangle, whose strange effects and disappearances were caused by the Sanbi's chakra. It just wishes to be left alone to live in peace.

(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)

Yonbi no Saru. The Four-Tailed Monkey, it was sent by the explosion to the part of the world that would later become South America. He wishes to somehow get revenge for his old host, Roshi, for he believed they had a good relationship.

(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)

Gobi no Irukauma. The Five-Tailed Dolphin Horse, it was sent by the explosion to the part of the world that would later become the Himalayas. It just wishes to be left alone, to its own devices.

(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)

Rokubi no Namekuji. The Six-Tailed Slug, it was sent by the explosion to the part of the world that would become the Central Marshes of Iraq. It, like the Sanbi and Gobi, wishes to be left to its own devices.

(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)

Nanabi no Kabutomushi. The Seven-Tailed Horned Beetle, it was sent by the explosion to the part of the world that would become Australia. It wishes for peace among its siblings.

(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)

Hachibi no Kyogyū. The Eight-Tailed Giant Ox, it wound up in what would someday be Indonesia. It just hopes that someday, Bee would be reincarnated.

(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)

Kyūbi no Yōko. The Nine-Tailed Demon Fox, the only unknown one.

(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)

They are awakening. They are coming. They are Gods.

This was just an old work I decided to finally bring into the light. Yea, it sucks; it was one of my original works. It likely won't be continued, so decipher it as you choose.
