The sun was setting when Haru finally opened her eyes. What woke her up was not the soothing voice of those who stood next to her. No, it was the sound of her stomach singing the song of its people. It took her a while, though, to get used to the idea that it was 10 in the morning, the sun was not setting, and the first thing she had seen, was the light reflect on one of Dino's subordinates. Yes, the bald one, which is why the girl thought that it was almost night.

Leaving that insignificant detail to a side, it had been three days since she had killed a man for the first time in her life. Ah, yes. A man, dead, because of her, in a slightly painful way –or at least she supposed. It's not like she had ever been shot to death before, so she couldn't really compare. - Her mother would be so proud of her.

Her head felt heavy, and her hands were still shaking to the point where she couldn't even grab a spoon. She felt so useless, being unable to do anything, not even getting up, and not to mention, after sleeping for three days in a row, she felt more tired than ever. She had no memories of what had happened after the thing, but she supposed Hibari called Dino and some more people died, people always die in these cases, and probably something along the way exploded and hey, normal stuff you have to deal with when you get involved with the goddamn mafia, what was she expecting? And she could deal with all of that. She wasn't physically strong, but her mind was prepared for the most brutal bullshit the human being could ever come up with. What was way beyond her was that Hibari hadn't showed up to see her not even once after she regained consciousness. Well, she had been awake for less than a day, but it was still disappointing that he hadn't rushed to see her, the way any romantic comedy main character would do. Then again, Haru's life had 0 romances in it, and the only comedy was her laughing alone at her own bad jokes.

-Are you sure you're ok? - Dino asked her for the eleventh time, with a clumsy smile.

The brunette just tried her best to smile too and nodded silently.

-Do you need anything?

Again, a simple gesture of her head to indicate that, no, she didn't need anything, but by her expression it looked like she was trying to say 'fuck off I want to sleep'.

-How is she?

Dino looked up from his paperwork to see another man standing by the door, slightly leaning against the wall and staring at the floor. Hibari resembled a little boy who had just been yelled at by his mother for not finishing his vegetables. It was kinda funny the way he looked, not to mention cute. He had bed hair, he wasn't wearing shoes, he wasn't wearing a tie either, and his shirt wasn't even buttoned properly, and then, there were those bags under his eyes… to say it shortly, he was a mess, but he still looked so good that Dino had to remind himself for a moment that he was straight.

-Huh? Are you worried? She's still awake, you know? Why don't you go see her? - He smiled, slightly relieved that he now had a reason to put off his paperwork.

-I can't. This is my entire fault. I knew I shouldn't have let her come with me. –notice that he never denied being worried.

-Oh come on, It's not your fault, and I'm sure Haru thinks so too.

-Do I look like I care about what you think?

Saying this, the cloud guardian took a seat in the nearest chair and stayed there in silent for a while. Dino looked at him, starting to lose his patience. Even after all those years, he was still a brat who didn't understand a thing.

-You wanna know why you couldn't protect her? It's not because you're weren't strong enough, or fast enough. No, that's not your problem. Your problem is that you think that by being strong you have more than enough and you don't see that you're lacking something a lot more important. And it's ok, she hasn't noticed it either, but at least, when she does, I know she will accept it, while you, instead, already know what I'm talking about but you're too busy being in denial about it.

Usually, these spurs of courage come followed by a feeling of 'oh shit' caused by a metal stick being thrown at the blond at an unhealthy speed. But this time, something was different. After his usual violent demonstration of love, Hibari didn't walk away. Instead of doing so, he just sit back and said:

-What are you talking about?

Dino got up and cleaned the dust from his pants with the palms of his hands. A sheepish smile spread across his face.

-Do you really want to know?

-Stop wasting my time and tell me.

-Well… I could, but I think I'm going to let you figure it out on your own.

There it was: that side of the Cavallone boss that always got Hibari on his nerves.

-I'm going to give you two seconds to speak. –He said as he grabbed his other tonfa –because yes, he has two.

-I'll give you a hint: it's the L word.

-…Lesbians?

-I meant love… but yeah, that… that also works as the L word….

-Oh. Love. Wait a moment you dumb horse, what about love?

-Oh dear. I thought you would know better than this. Kyoya, why don't you go to bed, have some sleep and maybe, just maybe, reflect on the fact that you're a 27 year old man who has fallen in love for the first time and you haven't even noticed.

First of all: I AM TERRIBLY SORRY. I HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN ABOUT THIS FIC, I JUST GENUINELY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO CONTINUE and I think this is the same I said on the last chapter?
