The Vongole had a huge amount of subordinates and affiliates. Despite this fact, there was only one person capable of giving Haru a regular welcome home. That girl was Chrome, one who had the patience of a saint compared to everybody else in that damn place. The brunette had never been so happy of seeing someone in her life. She missed her house, her life, her bed, and mostly her food. Well, yeah, she also missed her friends, but let's set priorities here.
-Are you ok? I heard you killed a man?-Great way of breaking the ice: going straight to the point with zero boundaries.
-Uh… yes. I guess I did…
-Oh wow, you must be happy! Congratulations –the shorter woman smiled warmly and gave Haru a hug. One of those hugs you don't really know where they come from but you just stay still and accept the fact that you're being hugged.
What world had Chrome come from? How the fuck was murdering a person was a thing that should be celebrated? Then, as soon as Haru was starting to think, it hit her. One word: mafia. Dino had talked to her a lot about how she shouldn't worry, about how this guy would probably come back to life mysteriously anyways, and how he was a drug dealer and a rapist so he deserved it, but the brunette had never liked the term 'he deserved it'. Nobody deserved anything, except for her, who deserved cake. A 7m tall chocolate cake because wow she had just killed a guy and then there was that thing with a certain other guy and she had no idea what had been worse.

Long story short, while they were still at Dino's house, Hibari finally deigned himself to go pay Haru a visit.
-Hi.
Yes, 'hi'. Fucking brilliant. After all that had happened, the best thing he could come up with was 'hi'.
-Hibari-san…- Haru looked at him with a soft smile. The first word she had said in all that time was his name, and that was kinda sweet when she thought about it. –You look really pale, are you ok?
On the bright side, Hibari wasn't the only one who had no idea what to say.
-What are you talking about? That is my line. - He ran his fingers through his hair and took a seat on her bed, just like she did every time she visited him in his room. –How are you feeling?
-Could be better, I'm not gonna lie. –She tried her best to smile, just for him, but it was slightly more difficult than she thought it would be, and by slightly I mean a lot.
It followed a long minute of silence. Even if it was just a minute, it seemed like an eternity for both of them. At least it wasn't the awkward kind of silence. This one was comfortable, and Haru felt better just by having Hibari sitting there. She wasn't the kind of girl who craved for sweet words and caresses and all that stuff typical of Disney princes, and even if she was, expecting any of that from him out of all people would be naïve and stupid, very stupid.
The minutes passed and they both started minding their own business. The brunette opened a book (Harry Potter's 7th book. She was reading it for the 3rd time.) and Hibari casually started knitting –yes, knitting.
After a few hours of priceless silence between the two of them –let's just say that the skylark enjoyed this particularly given that a moment like this would probably never happen again and Haru would just go back to her usual 'never shut up' mode –the man got up from his chair and walked towards the door. Haru looked at him and put her book down. Her body moved on its own and after days of being unable to move –more like, not feeling like moving at all –she got up from her bed just to walk the cloud guardian to the door, even if it was not necessary at all. He turned around and stared at her for a moment with an unreadable expression before bending forward and embracing the girl softly. No big deal, just a hug, lasted two seconds, he let go before she could assimilate what had just happened and left the room slamming the door. But on another hand, it kinda was a big deal, somehow, because A: he blushed and Haru saw it. B: he whispered to her ear something that she could have misheard but that sounded an awful lot like "I'm so glad you're ok" and even if that meant nothing at all, just the fact that he had actually said something distantly sweet to her was already a very big deal.

After some weeks of doing absolutely nothing all day in Dino's house –she could have gotten used to it- Haru assimilated that she had, indeed, just killed a person but it was in self defense and perfectly justified and the police wouldn't be involved and so many other things that made her feel better, but what made her feel way better was the food on the plane. Tsuna had hired a private jet to bring her home –lord knows with what money –and the dinner looked like it had been taken out of a king's palace. There was turkey and pork with some caviar as a side dish and then there was salad, to watch the weight, and all types of sandwiches and cupcakes, and maybe kings didn't eat sandwiches but they sure as hell ate that unpronounceable French dish she had in front, made with the dead meat of some suspicious looking animal but it tasted great so she didn't care. The crew had been especially nice to her and they even put chick flicks to entertain her while the plane was in the air. All of this made her happy. All of this made Hibari not so happy. Let's be honest here, chick flicks? Really? But the brunette could have sworn she saw him smile at some parts of Mean Girls. Who would have guessed?
Little did she know that the reason he was smiling was not Regina George being hit by a bus –even if it was funny enough-. This is the part where a reader's imagination goes wild trying to figure out what he was smiling at, but yes, it was because of Haru, as cheesy as it may sound.
He was worried that something like this would happen again, but Haru had dealt with things way better than he thought she would. He had almost no problem admitting that she had grown so much stronger –mentally, of course- and that pleased him. He didn't want to say he liked her, but he liked her. He just didn't like like her, or at least that's what he kept telling himself, knowing that if anybody knew how he was feeling he would probably be teased to death for acting like a 12 year old girl about it.
Once Haru had settled down in her room and everything was good as it should be, Hibari walked straight to Tsuna's office. This was not going down without a fight.
-Sit down. –Said the young boss with a grin as soon as the door opened.
Hibari didn't reply. He didn't sit down either, for the matter.
-Listen, I know you probably feel like ripping my skin off and using it as a carpet while you have my eyeballs for dinner – graphic description Tsuna had probably learnt from Mukuro – but I just want to say that you have my blessings.
The cloud guardian raised a brow. Blessings. The little animal was finally crazy.
-Don't look at me like that –continued Tsuna. –I know how you feel about Haru. Chrome told me. I mean, I know you aren't dating or anything, but boy, the way you look at her! …well, that's what she said when I talked to her earlier. So… is it true? Do you like her?
And if there were some questions that needed to be asked, this was one that Hibari would have given everything to ignore.

and ta-daa! I updated and that's already something. Sorry for any mistakes and sorry if this was short or boring or both. Actually, I can apologize about many things… but yeah. Thank you all who have reviewed lately and added this to favorites, or followed this fic. Damn I thought this fandom was dying but hey, not while we have our dying wills, huh?
*insert applause for the worst joke of the millennia*
So yeah. Here it is and let's see how long it takes me to write more. Bye~
