Some thugs were hanging out at the Gotham dock. "Hey whatever happened to the Batman?" one thug asked. "I don't know" the other thug replied. "But have you heard of this new vigilante named Nightmare?" the thug asked. "Who?" the third thug replied. "Me" came a voice. The thugs turned, "Show yourself!" Suddenly Nightmare leaped out and killed the thugs instantly with his twin pistols. He put his guns away and climbed back on top the rooftop, running off.
"Breaking news! Three murders have been reported at the dock! The killer is suspected to be the new violent crime fighter Nightmare," the reporter announced. Bruce glared at the screen and shut off the computer. "He's at it again?" Diana said, sitting down beside Bruce on the couch. "Yea" he sighed. "Bruce.. It's time you be Batman again" Diana said.
Bruce shook his head, "No, I gave him my word" he said, referring to Ra's Al Ghul. "He doesn't control you!" Diana protested. "It's not just that! I've lost my son.. My daughter.. I let you die. What next?" he sighed. Diana hugged him. "Bruce, Don't be hard on yourself.. It's not your fault." Bruce broke from the hug and stormed out of the room.
Meanwhile at Argus. Amanda Waller was watching some security cameras. Superman walked in, "Has he cracked?" she didn't look back to him, "You can't keep them locked up forever." The cameras showed the suicide squad locked up in a large cell. "Batman is like a brother to me, I will find his son" Superman said. "This wont help" Amanda growled. "I never asked for your opinion! Now continue your work. You know how to contact me." Superman turned and flew out.
The Suicide Squad sat there in the cell. "Bloody tell her already!" Captain Boomerang snarled at Deadshot. "I don't need to talk to them" He remarked. "Oh my puddin must miss me" Harley frowned. "Will you shut up about your damn Joker!" King Shark growled. "Oh shut up!" Harley glared at him.
Nightmare slipped back into the warehouse. Kevin took off the mask. "Well done" Scarecrow grinned. "Thanks" Kevin smirked. He threw down his mask as he walked towards the group.
At the young justice base: Cassandra was sitting on the couch, watching the news. "Great! First we loose Kevin and then we lost Zattana" Carols complained. "Oh relax Carols, were fine on our own" Cj said. "Guys lets not talk about Kevin when she's around" Hex glanced at Cassandra. "Oh.. Right" Carols said nervously. Cassandra got up, "I need to go to Gotham."
Zatana sat in her room at the watchtower. She sat crossed legged on the bed as she thought about everything that had happened. Kevin was still on her mind. She sighed as she continued thinking.
Kevin continued to watch the news when Ivy interrupted them, "Guys." Cassandra was flying towards the warehouse. Kevin grabbed his mask and slid it on. "Everyone hide!" he ordered.
Cassandra landed and fly in. Nightmare slowly came out of the shadows, holding a gun to her. "Ever since you came to town everything has changed! It's time to stop you." She landed on the ground. "Stop me? That's something that you wont do," he said. "I'll stop you!" she hissed. "Your letting your anger guide you, and that's a fatal mistake" Nightmare said in a robotic voice. She met his gaze, staring at him for a moment. "Who are you?" she finally said.
Nightmare knew he couldn't hide this from her. He slowly pulled off his mask when suddenly Cassadra was stabbed in the back with fear gas. She faintly saw Kevin's face before she fell onto the floor. Scarecrow looked down at her, "Fool!" his eye glowed red in her fear vision, then bugs crawled all along the mask. Ivy created vines around Cassandra, tieing her up. "Good job! You nearly blow or cover!" Cheetah snarled. "I-I can't do this anymore!" Kevin aimed the gun at Scarecrow now.
