My voice deepens before I talk. "I'm not gonna marry Tikal"
"No one is gonna take you away from me" I whisper into her ear. I see her move as a smile forms on her perfectly lit face. "Of course no one is" she quietly responds as she nuzzles her face into my chest.
"Get ready we are leaving." I stated before turning around to continue packing up.
"Oh where have you been Amy?" my mom asks me as she caresses my cheek.
"MOM!" I shout at her. She turns around and gives me a warm smile. I reach the bottom floor and smile back. "Can you drop me of at school?"
The hall finally cleared out and everyone was at class except for me,Sonic and Tikal. I watch as Sonic pushes Tikal away then turns at me. Tears drowning my face. "Amy…" Sonic says as he took a step towards me. I took a step back and shook my head. "Just stop" I softly say as I quickly walk away.
Chapter 9: Heartache
Tikals POV
I reach to Marry Ward High School and I gotta say why haven't I ever been here?. Anyways I walk into the school and find my way to the principles room. I knock on the door and hear a person say come in. I walk inside to find a blue hedgehog with curly quills and light blue eyes.
"Oh please sit". the blue hedgehog says. I walk towards her desk and decided not to sit.
"I'll be quick." I say. The blue hedgehog nods. "Oh my name is and I'll be your principle" stretches her hand towards me and I kindly take her hand and shake it. "Tikal. Tikal The Echidna" I smile and returns the smile.
sits down and intertwines her two hands together. "So how may I help you today?" she asks me. I cross my arms across my chest and smile. "Well I need my schedule and locker number" I kindly say. I watch as opens one of her drawers and takes out a piece of paper and a lock. "Here" she extends her hand and I take the schedule and lock. "Thanks" I say before walking out of the room.
I look at the schedule which has my locker number. "Mhmm locker number is 685 third floor." I look right then left and saw some staircases leading upstairs. I walk up and open the doors to find the hallway noisy. Guys making out with their girlfriends and girls gossiping. I roll my eyes and make my way to my locker. "Wonder who my locker neighbours are" I wonder. I open my lock and stuff in all of my binders into my back and everything I didn't need into my locker. I close my locker and look at my schedule. Mhm. "Looks like I have science first"
I look up and look who I just found at the end of the hallway. I smirk and started walking towards the familiar hedgehog. "Hey Sonic" I say as I give him a warm smile. I watch as his eyes widen and he backs away. Everyone starring at us. I can hear whispers all around us.
"Ti-kal" he mutters. "It sure is" I cross my arms across my chest. I watch as Shadow walks in and sees me. I smile towards Shadow and give him a warm hug. Shadow pushes me of "Butt of slut" he coldly says. I pout "awh don't be like that".
"Tikal why are you here?" Sonic coldly asks. I turn my attention to Sonic and his friends. "Well I missed you and I told you that we need to catch up didn't I?" I question Sonic. "Sonic doesn't want to talk to you Tikal" Knuckles say as he goes in front of Sonic. I smirk "Sonic can talk for his behalf" I coldly say to knuckles as I flick his forehead. "Why you little-" Sonic quickly grabs Knuckles before he could throw a punch on my face. "Knuckles chill. This is just what she wants. Let's just go" Knuckles closes his eyes and exhales. "See you later slut" Knluckes says as he walks past by me with Sonic and Shadow following behind him. I turn and smirk. "This is gonna be interesting".
8:45am
I decided to head to class so I turned at the end of hallway to find Sonic on his phone waiting in front of the class. "Well well it's just my day now isn't it?". I walk towards Sonic and he notices so he lifts his head up from his phone and he freezes. I stop right in front of him as he stares at me. "So you have science first too?" I ask all innocent like. Instead of answering he just looks back down at his phone. "Hey I'm talking to you blue". I watch as his ears twitch and his eyes shoots directly at me. "Don't call me that" he coldly demands. I caress his cheek and I can feel his face burning up. "Awh your blushing" I smile towards him and our eyes meet.
He takes my hand and removes it from his cheeks. "Just go to class Tikal" he coldly says. I smirk "Sure but first things first" I smack my lips onto his and I grab his quills as my fingers ran through his quills. He grunts but doesn't respond. I suck on his bottom lip and he parts his lips apart. I smirk in between kisses and shot my tongue inside. All of a sudden he grabs my waist and pulls me closer. He takes control and now our tongues are battling.
Suddenly he pushes me and the kiss is over. I look to my left and see a familiar pink hedgehog standing in place. I then focus back my attention to Sonic and smirk towards him. He looks at me with suspicion and looks to his right where he finds Amy crying. "Amy…" He softly says to her. "Just don't" Amy says before fleeing from the scene. I watch as the pink figure disappears. "Uh-oh" I innocently say. Sonic looks back at me and shoots glares. "Fck of" Sonic pushes me to the side then enters the class. I roll my eyes and follow behind him.
Sonics POV
I enter the classroom to find Sally sitting on my seat. "Hey Sonic" she says to me. "Sally move" I coldly say to her. Tikal enters the room behind me and starts to walk towards me and Sally. I watch as she lifts an eyebrow up. I look back at Sally as she crosses her arms across her chest as she puts one leg over the other.
Tikal slams her hand onto the desk making Sally flinch. Wow never seen Sally ever scared of someone. "He said move didn't he sweet heart?" Tikal says as she tilts her head a bit. Sally rolls her eyes and gets up from my seat and walks back to her own. I sit down on my seat and look away from Tikal.
"No thank you?" she asks me. She sits at the empty seat beside me making me turn to look at her. "That's Amys seat" I coldly say. I watch as she smirks and shakes her head. "Not anymore".
The teacher walks in and for the first time I'm thankful that walked in. As started writing stuff on the board the doors wing open and my eyes glued on the pink figure. Amy scans the room and sees that the seat beside me is taken by Tikal. I look towards Tikal as she waves her hand towards Amy. I look back to Amy as she starts to walk towards the empty seat beside the window.
The whole class time I couldn't stop looking at Amy. As hard as she tried to focus in class I see tears escaping her eyes and rolling down her cheeks. She quickly wipes the tears but after another minute or two another tear rolls down her cheek. I feel like I shot her right at the heart. I want to explain. How am I gonna fix things now that Tikals back. Do I still have feelings for Tikal?. I don't know anymore.
After class
I quickly gather my books and quickly go towards Amy. But a pair of hands stopped me. I turn to see Sally. "Sally not right now okay?" I quickly say as I was about to leave but Sally grabs my arm and stops me. I look back towards Sally as she has a serious face plastered on her face. "Who the hell is she?" she spats at me. Oh lord. I let go of Sallys grip and back away. "Not now" I quickly say and turn around to see that Amy is already gone. I take a deep breath and exhale. I ruffle by head and walk out and decided to just go to my next class.
Amys POV
I quickly walk pass the hall and into my next class which is History. I walk into class and see Cream sitting peacefully beside my empty desk. I smile and slowly walk towards the bunny. "Hey Cream" I say as I stop right in front of her desk. Cream slowly looks up and as her eyes meet mine her face brightens. She jumps up from her seat and embraces me with a big hug. "I've missed you!" Cream explains. I laugh and hug her petit body. We let each other go and I take a seat and so does Cream.
"Where have you been?" the cute bunny asks me. I turn to her gaze. "Just took a short vacation" I reply back. She smiles and title her head a bit. "Lucky" she says. I laugh and take out my binder and text book. Cream pokes me shoulder which captures my attention. "Mhm?" I hum. "I texted you. But you didn't reply" she says. Oh shoot right. I rub my nape and smile. "Sorry Cream I forgot to reply" I nervously say as I chuckle a bit. "Mhmm okay It's fine" cream says as she brings back her attention to the front of the class. At that moment the teacher walks in and the lecture begins.
Lunch Break
Me and Cream side by side into the cafeteria where we find Rouge waving her hands like a maniac beside our table. I look at Cream and Cream looks at me. We both laugh at this site and continue walking towards our table. "AMY!" Rouge says as she wraps her arms around my neck and embraces me with a hug once we reached the table. "Missed you too Rouge" I struggle to say. She let's go and we all sit down. I notice that two seats are empty. "Where are Cosmo and Sticks?" I ask Rouge and Cream. "Well they are helping out at downtown for their community service so they didn't come today" Cream explains. I nod and take out my lunch and started to eat.
"Amy we have cheer practice after school today" Rouge says. I look up and nod. It's good thing that I brought my Cheer outfit. I continue to shove some spaghetti down my mouth. "Oh did you guys know that Sonics ex is here?!" Rouge says out loud. I choke on my spaghetti and Rouge covers her mouth embarrassed of speaking so loud. I quickly drink some water and exhale. "R-really?" I say. Cream shoots me a concerned look and I nod indicating that I'm okay.
Rouge leans closer on the table so that she could whisper the information that she has acquired. "Well what I herd is that she is here because her dad enrolled her here because she has some business that she has to take care of" Rouge lays back on her chair and crosses her arms across her chest. "But I don't know what the business is exactly" she says with disappointment. "Maybe it's just school stuff" Cream says all innocent. Rouge shrugs and rocks back and forth on her chair.
As I was about to take another bite of my spaghetti my phone rings and I drop the fork back in the container. I check my phone and see that Sonic is calling. I stare deeply at the screen thinking if I should answer it or not. "Amy why is Sonic calling you?" Cream says as she leans towards me looking at my screen. I quickly press decline and shove my phone into my pocket and continue to eat. "Nothing" I quickly say hoping they believe me. I watch as Rouge raises an eyebrow and Cream looking deeply at me.
"Okay the thing is-" I was about to talk and admit but my phone started to ring again. I quickly take my phone and get up. "I'll be right back" I say to the girls before quickly walking out of the cafeteria.
I press accept and place the phone beside my ear. "Hello?" I mutter. "Amy please. We need to talk" Sonic says through the phone. "Sonic there is nothing to talk about" I coldly reply back. "There is. Let me explain please" he quickly responds back. I take a deep breath and slide my back down the wall. I close my eyes and wait for Sonic to talk. "Amy please…I don't want to lose you" he says sadly.
I can feel my heart breaking. My eyes watering up and my breathing going heavy. I continue to remain silent. "I love you" I hear Sonic say at the other end. My tears fall and I drop my phone and sob into my palms. I raise my head up and take a deep breath. I take my phone and bring it back beside my ear. "I…I'm sorry" I finally say as I end the call and drop my phone ones more and look up to the ceiling.
This is the right thing to do. I can't win against Sonics ex. The girl he committed to for three years. They have a history while me and Sonic only has a quarter of what he and Tikal has. I love you but I don't want to get hurt. and be left behind.
I take my phone and stood up. I wipe my tears and calmly walk back into the cafeteria. I walk back to the girls and sit back down not making eye contact. I look down at my lap and fiddle my fingers around. "Amy?" Cream says as she puts a hand on my shoulder. "You guys….were right" I struggle to say as tears escaped from my eyes and dropping down to my hands.
"Amy…" Cream softly says as she embraces me into a hug. I sob on her shoulder as she pats my back. "Dear what's wrong?" Rouge says as she brings her chair beside mine. I raise my head from Creams shoulder and wipe the tears on my face. "Sonic…" I mutter. It's time for them to know. I take a deep breath and begin explaining everything that has happened between me and Sonic.
After the explanation xD
"And now I don't know what to do" I ended. I look at Cream and then at Rouge. Rouge gets up as me and Cream watch her. "Well you aren't gonna sob here. You have to show him that you are better without him" Rouge explains as she holds her fists across her chest. "How am I suppose to do that?" I question Rouge. Rouge smiles at me and brings her fists down. "Well show him the side that he hasn't seen and slay Tikal of course!". I look at Cream as she nervously smiles. I look back at Rouge and let out a giggle. Rouge smiles and lifts my head up with one finger. "See that's the smile I like to hear". I smile back at Rouge and nod. "Okay let's do it" I say determined as I get up from my seat. "That's what I like to hear" Rouge says as she smirks.
After School
"Hurry up Amy" Rouge says outside of the girls washroom. "I'm coming I'm coming" I say running out of the washroom. I'm wearing the schools cheerleading uniform and tied my hair into a high ponytail. "How cute" Rouge says as she smiles and takes my hand and runs out as I am forced to follow behind her. We finally reach the field and the rest of the girls are waiting. I scan the group of girls and realize that Sally isn't part of the group of girls. I nudge Rouges shoulder as she looks at me. "Where is sally and her friends?" I ask her. Rouge laughs then pushes me playfully. "Did you really think I would let her be on the team?" Rouge says as she continues to laugh. I smile and started to laugh with her. "I guess not". We finish laughing and I go to the group of girls.
"Listen up girls!" Rouge shouts trying to get everyones attention. Everyone quiets down and puts their attention on Rouge. "The football season is in a couple of months and that means we have to make a cheer for the tournament. That means no missing out practices for the next two months" Rouge explains as we all nod. Looks like I can't go to anymore trips with Sonic. Amy snap out of it. I shake my head and focus back my attention towards Rouge.
"Okay the flyers are Me,Britney,Steph,Lu and Amy" Rouge says out loud. My eyes widen as my lips forms a big smile. I love being the flyer. It was something that I'm actually good at hehe.
Rouge named all of the base girls then we all started to practice our cheer. As we were getting ready I noticed that the football players were coming out with their coach. Probably gonna practice just like us. As they were coming out a familiar blue hedgehog captures my attention. It was Sonic. My eyes widen as my heart skipped a beat. I quickly turn around and take a deep breath. Rouge notices and walks towards me. She puts a hand on my shoulder and smiles. "Let's show him what you got" Rouge says as she lifts one fist across her chest. I smile and nod. "Okay".
"Okay girls so we will begin with all of us at the back in a straight line. Once the music starts the two girls at the end starts of with four layouts. At the end you two should meet at the middle right beside each other. After words you four girls will do an aerial three times and end up making a triangle. After that the flyers will run to their spots and do one front flip then put one foot on the base girls and they will push you up which once you are pushed up will do a back flip and landing on the ground." Rouge explains as well look at her with our blank faces. Rouge laughs and gives us the que to get into places.
Rouge plays the music and she quickly runs to her spot in the line. I take a deep breath and exhale. Okay Amy you can do this. The music starts and the two girls do four layouts meeting at the middle just as what Rouge wanted. Next the base girls run and do three aerials ending up in a triangle. Finally it was our turn and I run and do a front flip and place one of my foot on the bases hands. They flipped me up and I do a back flip. I land on the ground and exhale.
Rouge goes and stops the music and makes her way back to us. "Good job girls. Let's do it one more time" All of us nods and we go back in a line. Rouge plays the music then quickly runs back to her spot.
The two girls go and do four layouts then the base girls ran and did three aerials forming a triangle then us flyers ran and did one front flip. I place my foot on the bases hands and all of a sudden I hear someone shouting "Heads up!". I look at the guy shouting and waving his hands which made me distracted. Then I was pushed up into the air and the football hit me. I fall and I can hear the girls scream.
I close my eyes tightly and wait for impact but it never came. Instead I was caught and fell down into someones arms. I open one eye and see that my team mates are surprised. I look up to see my hero. My eyes widen as Sonic looks at me with worry written all over his face.
"Sonic…" I mutter. I can feel Sonic panting. He lets me down and stands there starring at me. "I-uhh. Thanks" I shyly say avoiding eye contact. Sonic turns my face so that I'm facing him. I look deeply into his eyes then ran my eyes down his torso. Sonic was sweating and his abs is visibly showing through his shirt. I gulp and look back into Sonics eyes. "Amy I'm-" I shake my head and back away from Sonics grip. "Thanks again" I say before turning around and walking pass my team mates.
"Amy wait up!" Rouge says as she runs towards me. I stop in place and exhale. I turn and see Rouge panting. "I'll be going home now if that's okay with you Rouge" I kindly ask. Rouge nods and smiles. I return the smile and continue walking into the school.
I go up the third floor and open my locker and grab my back and close my locker. I walk down to the front of the school and walked back home. It took me fifteen minutes to get home. I open the door and walk up to my room.
I plop myself on my bed and let out a big sigh. All of a sudden my phone starts ringing and I pull out my phone from my bag. The caller ID said that Rouge is calling. I press accept and put the phone side my ear. "Yes Rouge?" I say. "Mall tomorrow 11am. I'll pick you up" Rouge says. "Wait why?" I ask with curious. I hear Rouge laughs at the other end. "Remember we are gonna make sure Sonic regrets hurting you" Rouge explains. Oh right almost forgot heh. "Okay! see you tomorrow" I say before hanging up and placing my phone on my side table. I look up to my ceiling as the events of what happened today ran through my head. What a day.
