I was at the bar, waiting for my friend to come by. He was supposed to meet us here and I had seen him two nights in a row. So why not again? I looked around once more. Rebekah had left me because to her he was taking too long. I told her it was like her trying to get dressed. She of course threw a fit but she did leave. I had been here all day, drinking. I'd been here with my men, my mates.

I was on my 265th drink and I was aiming for 500 so no human could ever beat my record. My mind was travelling back to what happened when I first turned Hybrid/Vampire. I was an Original vampire. When in reality I was a hybrid and my own MOTHER took it from me and now my father was- DEAD! My father was DEAD! He would NEVER leave me. Or maybe he decided that I just wasn't worth it. I swallowed my drink and then reached for another. Why should I care? I don't need anyone! I don't need love! I don't need any-

I saw Stefan enter and I smiled. My only friend who didn't run from me. Why does everyone hate me? Never mind, unimportant. They hate and fear me because I WANT them to. Stefan sat down at the bar and I got to follow him, stumbling a bit but who cares? If they get in my way I can just eat them… Mmm. Food.

I plopped myself right in the seat next to him. "You're late." I ordered another beer and began to drink it.

"Sorry, I got held up." Held up… yeah right.

"Stefan what did you do to that Liam guy?" He looked at me, smiling widely. Almost baring his teeth in the smile. I smiled back before finishing my drink again. I looked at my glass as I felt my thoughts returning. When would they learn to keep away? I don't want to think! I hate thinking! "Stefan?"

"I told you that earlier but I'll tell you again later, when there are NO people in this room and we can actually talk freely. Not in front of the human Nik."

"Stefan?"

"Yeah? What is it Nik?

"Why does my family want me dead? They hate me. I don't know what or where I went wrong." I replied, feeling tears in my eyes at admitting my family hated me. But I deserve it don't I? I mean I ruined their family… didn't I? No that was Esther's fault. I killed her and if Beky ever found out… He slid me a drink. I caught it and drained it immediately. That was two more added on to my score.

"They DON'T hate you. You know what they really are? They're jealous. Your family wants you dead because they can never be what you are." 'Abomination!' 'A beast!' I bit my lip.

"What? An abomination?" I asked, dejected.

"No. A king." New Orleans? He doesn't know about that! I looked at him, smiling. He always knew what to say. He smiled greater than the sun before laughing, shaking me. I laughed too. I gestured at him and then myself.

"Look at us. Two sad orphans." He took his drink and drank.

"I know." He looked at somewhere other than me and I looked up to see my sister staring at us. She'd finally seen him, and was now probably eavesdropping. Annoying sister. Now was MY time with my best friend. I turned back to him. He was looking at his glass again. I needed to give him advice if he were to be dating her.

"My sister fancies you, you know." He looked away smiling.

"Mmm." I pointed and tapped him on the shoulder to take his attention off his drink.

"But..." I tapped him twice as hard and he finally he looked at me. "I should warn you, Rebekah doesn't do anything half-speed, and that includes-" He had looked away but quickly looked back at me. "-falling in love. So just be careful. She's totally mad." We laughed and I hit the bar with my hand, laughing a bit too much. I looked up and ordered two more drinks.

"I appreciate the advice." I chuckled as Gloria refilled our drinks. That was one more to add one, meaning add on three to that number.

"And when the point comes where she inevitably leaves you..." I put down my drink and turned to look at Stefan. "She can't help it-" He was looking at his drink. I moved and he looked directly at me. "it's just who she is. Don't let your heart do anything stupid." He nodded his head and I nodded, happy he agreed with my statement. He looked back at his drink and after a minute raised it and stared at me.

"You know what, you're a good friend, Nik. I'm glad I met you." He raised his drink, and toasted me. I lifted mine.

"Cheers to Friendship, my friend." I smiled and he nodded. "You know what mate? You are welcome to my apartment." He shook his head. I looked at him, hurt.

"Nope, YOU are coming to MY apartment, grab some girl. Your going to need a dance partner. I'll have Rebekah. We'll go and then, as a snack, you're girl." I beamed at him.

"I'll get TONS of drink too." He smirked.

"It's a party then."
