"Time to wake, my children. The sun awaits us. Today is a celebration. That is why I let you sleep late." I rolled over and bumped into Elijah's side and opened my eyes to look at Mother.

"What type of celebration? Where's Father?" I stayed there, waiting for my siblings to wake up. I would NOT be the first out of bed. The others began to stir after she fanned out our covers. Where was Mikael? Wasn't he usually the one to wake us up?

"You'll see. I wanted to have a special surprise for you children, since we've been sad lately." I looked at my pillow, reminded of why we were sad. Nothing in the world could replace my family… and I hurt my own family. I laid back down and closed my eyes. My siblings however got out of bed, eventually. "Niklaus, please." She sat beside me and began to run her fingers through my hair. I sighed before actually sitting up. She kissed my cheek as I left to the kitchen to find the table full of cups and food as usual.

Things don't seem as if anything had changed… but I know they have. Why does she not act like it? Why does she act so happy? I remember when I brought… never mind. I don't want to think about it. I sat down in no particular spot at all and stared at my plate as I played with my fork.

"Children, please eat. I promise today will be great." She said, keeping her back to us. I sighed before picking up my steak and taking a hesitant bite from it. It tasted dull, bland. No flavour at all. I looked to my siblings and they seemed just as enthusiastic as I was. "If you will not eat, then please drink." I picked up my cup and took a sip before trying to drink it all down, if only to get out of the house.

"I have drank my fill. May I leave?" I asked.

"Children? Are you ready to leave?" They nodded in reply and I followed suit. "Then you may leave." I let my siblings leave first, but Rebekah didn't move. I heard the door open and the next moment, everything went black.

When I woke I was lying on the floor and the first thing I noticed was blood on my shirt. I gasped. What? What happened? Then I heard Rebekah gasp. I looked up, moving myself and crawled over to her.

"Rebekah?" I sat up, touching the blood splotch on my shirt.

"Blood! What happened?" She touched hers as well.

"Don't worry Beky, everything will be all right. You will be okay. We will all be okay. I promise." Then the door opened and Mikael came in with a girl. I looked up at him. "What are you doing?"

"We must finish what we started!" He pushed the girl down onto her knees in front of us. I backed off, trying to help Rebekah. "You have to drink if you want to live." He cut her wrist. I stared in horror. What is wrong with Father? "Drink!" Rebekah looked at me but Mikael commanded her again. "DRINK!" I tried to push him away but I was shoved aside, like nothing but a toy. Rebekah cried out and put her mouth on the girl's wrist, drinking. I stared at the scene, not knowing what to make of it. "DRINK!" She drank deeper than the first time and veins appeared in her face. When Rebekah left the girl alone Mikael turned on me. I bit the girl and drank, just to keep Mikael's anger at bay.

It was Dinner time and everyone was now in the house again. We were sitting in utter silence. An unbearable silence. I couldn't tell what was wrong but something was out of place, and it wasn't just the fact that my youngest brother was not where he was supposed to be.

"Children, time for Dinner. Dinner is ready. Please one of you, say something." I shook my head and looked at the floor. I didn't want to break the silence that had been there for at least an hour. I sat as far from Mikael as possible, just in case he yelled at us again. Rebekah was sitting with Kol and Elijah.

Finn sat by our parents as usual and we began our meal. It had more taste but I wasn't in the mood to actually taste the food. I just wanted to go to bed and try and pretend everything was okay.
