Warning: Bad Chapter ;;-;; I'm so sorry but I had no ideas for this one. My mind was just blank because I was so caught up with the ending and stuff. *bows* Please forgive this :'(
"It's impossible! Something that big can't just disappear!" She ran to the empty spot, jumping over rubble, hoping that she was just going insane and that it was there. "How the hell does something that big and immovable…move?!"
She stood in horror, their one chance of escape gone. She picked up a large piece of rubble and threw it at the wall, her fury rising with every breath. "DAMN IT DAMN IT DAMN IT!" She screamed over and over until she just fell onto the wall and curled up into a ball.
Kiku, Francis, and Arthur ran up to her in attempts to comfort her, but they didn't realize how this had destroyed her hope. Kiku looked into her eyes, wiping away the hot tears.
"Amelia-san we're all going to be fine. Promise." He gave a weak smile in attempts to console her, but there was nothing left to console.
"We're going to find that nest, and blow it sky high. Got it?" She pushed him away and stood up, walking back to the elevator. "Come on." She demanded.
The three guys followed her back up in silence; not even Francis and Arthur wanted to fight in front of her in fear she would do something outrageous. They just climbed back up the unsteadily long ladder, stopping every now and then in case some rubble looked as if it were to fall. They reached the top where the sky had grown dim and weary, but everyone who was outside was still waiting by the ladder in hopes that they wouldn't have to go down and rescue them. When Amelia came up she moved straight on to the jet, not looking into the face of anyone around her. Franҫoise grabbed her shoulder after she felt Amelia's strain, but Amelia just brushed her away.
"So what's the deal with the portal?" Alice asked.
"There is no portal. The entire complex was destroyed floor by floor. Come on, we've got things to kill and stuff to do." Amelia walked to the door of the jet which was elevated a few feet because of the wheels of the jet protruding.
She looked up and sighed. "We're going. Come on." She kept pushing people to go. "Somebody give me a boost."
"Amelia are you okay?" Feliciana gave her a rare look of concern, but she was only given back a sharp glare.
"I SAID I'M FINE!" She shouted back, pulling out her baseball bat and pointing it at Feliciana.
Everyone stared Amelia, but nobody dared move. Amelia saw the looks of pity, horror, and fear that they all gave her, and she didn't care for it. Something inside her was trying to break, and she was only holding onto a thread to keep the pieces together. Her eyes widened some, realizing the words and actions coming out of her.
She heaved a sigh and dropped the bat. "I'm sorry; I don't know what came over me." She looked down at the ground. "The portal isn't here anymore, so the next best thing we can do is find that nest and take it out." She looked back up, her face stone. "So we've got to go now before it gets dark or else we'll be sitting ducks. I'm amazed nothing's come by to try and kill you people yet."
Kiku let himself relax; he knew that, though she was growing a hard outer core, her bubbly personality was just in storage. This war, it changes people, and he knew that. "Ok. Let's get out of here." He gave her a boost up and she opened the door and jumped inside.
She extended her arms out to Kiku who grabbed them so that he could be hoisted up. Francis led Alice to the jet and gave her a hoist up to Amelia who pulled her in. Then she pulled up Francis and afterwards Franҫoise who the pulled in Arthur who pulled in Feliciano who pulled in Feliciana and then all of them just watched as Ludwig jumped up and grabbed the plane door's floor and pulled himself up.
"That everyone?" Feliciana asked.
"Mhm!" Kiku counted the people and reassured himself.
Amelia jumped to the cockpit and set up the coordinates on the radar to follow. She slowly began takeoff, but then something in the distance caught her eyes. She looked out the window and saw a giant herd of veined, ugly, red eyed, forsaken beasts of hell running towards their jet, the smoke and fire in the wind around them flying vigorously with their footsteps which made the very earth tremble. Amelia was at first frozen in shock, but she quickly snapped herself out of it and furiously tried to get the jet to start wheeling forward, and slowly it did, but she couldn't set it in any other direction other than directly towards the hoard. She prayed for the plane to get of its wheels before she barreled into the blood thirsty beasts.
The two were coming closer and closer to collision, but then suddenly Amelia pulled the throttle with as much strength she had (which was a lot) and the plane inched its way off the ground. Unfortunately it wasn't fast enough to completely evade the Kaydoms because one of them grabbed the tire which was still sticking out and fell back into the crowd when it tore off the jet.
She let out a heavy sigh and thought to herself "nobody will ever know how badass I just was."
She flew past lands of lands, and a body of water so massive it was blue for miles. Still, all she was worried about was following the coordinates, and she was getting closer with every minute. The sky was blackened like coal now, the stars faded from the pollution in the air. She hoped that the gas would hold up as long as it could, but she also knew one more thing. Wherever they stop, they're stuck because there isn't enough gas to have another takeoff.
"Amelia-san. Would you like some company?" Kiku came in and sat down beside her in the other chair.
She had also been thinking, during her time of solitude, how she'd break the news to Kiku. Then she thought, better now than later. "Kiku?"
"Hai?"
"There's something drastically important I need to tell you." She tightened her grip on the throttle.
"What is it?" He felt nervous and tensed.
She gave off a sigh and felt her stomach. "Kiku…I'm…." She turned to him and gave him a smile unwarily
It took him a minute, but then it clicked. "W-w-what? No…that's impossible! Are you sure?"
She nodded.
"But I'm a country and…eh…" he went silent for a moment then turned back. "Am I really going to be a father?"
"Yessum."
Suddenly he perked up. "I'M GOING TO BE DADDY!" He laughed at the thought with content. "Amelia-san I'm excited!"
She was shocked. "Wait, really?"
He absolutely shined off happiness. "Amelia I promise I'm going to be the best father ever."
She looked back through the glass. "You can start by clearing all the hell out of this world."
Just as she said that the radar began blaring and beeping, making sure it caught her attention. She looked down, but when she read the radar she was confused. It had said that the nest was right in front of them, but all that was there was an island…wait.
She stared at the island harder and suddenly it was clear. The island had purple slimed towers and a major green bulb in the center that was crowded with shrubbery which made her first think it was a giant tree. It was true. The nest…it was real.
She brought the plane down to the "island" and sat it down right by the beach where it was silent and cold. She and Kiku went back into the main area and told everyone the news.
"We're here." She opened the door and looked out to the forest of strange and twisted trees which were covered in purple slime all throughout.
"Mon Dieu what a mess!" Franҫoise took a waft of the air, her nostrils filling up with the putrid smell of rotting flesh. "Disgusting." She muttered.
"Wow…so it's real?!" Feliciano was at awe of the horrifying state of the once seemingly living island, now covered in what only seemed to be killing it.
"I guess so." Ludwig jumped to the sand and stared into the forest, trying to see out of the goo.
Everyone else jumped down onto the sand and looked around their surroundings. It was shrouded in death and sorrow, and the trees looked like they were reaching out to the ocean for help. Alice shivered. "I feel hate everywhere."
She was right. The place just exploded hatred and pain, but they all knew they had to venture on. Amelia looked at Feliciana. "Do you want to lead the way?" She signaled down into the forest.
Feliciana looked at her for a moment, and then gave a nod. "Weapons ready guys. This is their base, the holy grail of all this shit. If I were in charge then I'd have this place crawling with militia." She felt for her throwing knives as everyone else had out their crossbows, wand, and baseball bat.
"I've never felt so vulnerable…." Francis sighed as he watched Alice hold her wand tight.
They began walking through the forest, the overgrowth of the forest blinding any path. Francis held on to Alice's hand, guiding her even though she felt silly with him holding her like a child. They walked for nearly an hour until Franҫoise stopped the group.
"Oy. Isn't anybody going to point out that we haven't seen any Kaydoms at all?" Everyone turned back to her, realizing her point.
"She's got a point. We've been walking for nearly an hour and it's been quieter than Canada." Arthur was unnerved.
Amelia pushed them forward. "Who knows?"
They walked on for twenty more minutes when suddenly…
"What was that?!" Alice stopped dead in her tracks and turned around, pointing her blazing wand.
"What was what?" Ludwig turned in horror as well as everyone else.
There was nothing though, just the dying trees.
"The silence is getting to you." Feliciana patted her on the back, but she still worried.
"I swear I heard something."
"It was no-oh God." Feliciana, as well as everyone's eyes widened.
The trees broke down to the sides, the branches ripping away from its body. The floor shook with such power that it nearly knocked them off their feet, but it wasn't as powerful as the sight in front of them.
It was hideous, the mucus dripping from its red and green blank eyes, four to be exact. It went to nearly eight feet though it slouched down so that it's hundreds of barbs were sticking out, the tips covered in green sludge that burned the ground that it dripped on. Also, its skin was shredded up and had its under flesh revealed, but even the under skin was tough as steel. The skin itself was red all around, but its body consisted of different shades of red, the left side being darker and bloodier while the right side was bright, berry red.
"RUN!" Francis grabbed Alice and began running down the forest, the rest following in haste as the beast trampled everything in its past.
They kept running until they reached a slime covered wall of what they thought to be rock. The beast furiously came closer and closer to the group. Alice leaned back against the slime and, suddenly, fell through and disappeared completely.
"Alice?!" Francis shouted as he dove in after her unknowingly.
"Well ain't that a fucking treat." Amelia pulled Kiku in who was then followed by the rest.
Kiku felt the sludge all around him evaporate to nothing as he fell through what had looked like a wall of slime covered rock at first. When the film of slime completely fell away from his body he fell out the other side. His face hit against the floor of the other side, bruising his cheek.
"What the hell is this?" Arthur stared up at it.
It was a beast of no proportion, and all around it hanging from the dome of goo were pods that swelled. The beast itself though, sat in the center on a humongous throne of trees; it's massive clawed feet having the capability of stepping on them all without problem. Its massive body reached sky scraper heights, its torso fat and covered in scales that resembled both ruby and emerald. On its sides there were tentacles which were stabbing into the goo dome while its hands rested by its sides, the long barbed claws ready to shred anything. Then there was its face, a hideous concoction of eyes that blinked sideways, two mouths with sharpened teeth, and long grey hair that fell down to the shoulders of the monster as well a wrap around its massive horns. In front of it was a gigantic tangle of its tentacles that seemed to be maneuvering different parts around an object.
"What the hell is that thing?" Ludwig was breathless.
"The Queen." Amelia answered back, drawing her bat.
