Feliciana ran to Monika and embraced her tightly, crying on her as everyone else gathered around and watched as the military began shooting missiles at the dome, only to have them stop halfway and explode without a dent. Monika then looked at Feliciana and smiled.
"This isn't a time to be reminiscing. We've got to take down whatever hell you've just brought to this world." Monika looked at the dome, confounded.
Amelia had glomped Alfred while they all gathered in a circle, their team reunited. They began hugging and telling stories without realization of what was going on around them.
Then their reunion was cut short when another Kaydom batch came thrashing through the force field. They began crushing the tanks and throwing men aside as they open fired. The group scattered, Alice left alone without direction.
"Alice what are you doing?!" Monika went back and grabbed Alice by the hand and pulled her away to a safe zone behind a destroyed, flipped tank.
"Monika I'm sorry. I can't see anything."
"What do you mean?" Monika looked at Alice, and then realized her eyes glossed over. "Oh God, Alice how did this happen?"
"No time to explain. We've got to regroup."
The sound of screams, gunfire, and raging attacks ceased when the Kaydoms all ran to different direction like the last ones had, nearly a hundred to each way. The bombing of the force field continued on for nearly twenty minutes, but nothing budged.
The group came back together, only now Alfred had a man in uniform with him.
"Captain Jones. We've gone through our options: the force field won't budge with our weapons and we can't fight off these beasts. They've already taken out a tenth of our militia with just that one blow."
"Then what are we going to do?!" Alfred had a serious tone, something that nobody had ever heard before.
The man looked down at his feet, and then back up at Alfred. "Suicide mission."
Everyone gasped at the man.
Anya grabbed him by the collar and glared at him. "There must be something else."
The man looked back at her with pity and fear. "There's no other way around this now. We'll have one man go through the force field since it doesn't seem to be having any effect on life forms, but the bomb that they'll be planting is enough to take out Texas."
"Why so powerful?" Yao asked.
"We've already tried everything else, and the other weapons have been exhausted. We need to act now before the monsters keep spreading. Also, the strength of the shield was tested and we know that the bomb will be contained inside. "
Anya put him down forcefully.
"Another thing…." The man held his posture even though the group was prepared to kill him.
"What?!" Monika shouted.
"We don't know why, but none of our men can get through the force field, not even the strongest ones. It may not be ideal…but with your strength as a country..."
"No." Alfred stopped his sentence. "You're saying that you want one of us to go in with a bomb that shouldn't even be in our possession and kill themselves? This is ridiculous. Why would we be able to get in when even your missiles can't do anything? Also, why the hell did you use up everything else?! What was going through your mind when you believed that to be a good idea?! You've compromised everything now, haven't you?! You've killed us all!"
"Alfred!" Sakura held her fists tight next to her sides.
He looked at her, then back at the soldier. He took a step back, his face still angered.
The soldier was shaking from Alfred's yelling, but he continued on. "A-as countries you possess strength that's unmatched by anything we have here. Your friends here have already proven that they can leave and go with ease, but nothing here can even make a dent."
"Then why can't they plant it and run out?" Alfred shook.
"This bomb hasn't been modified from its original blueprint since it's a new model that's only been tested once. It doesn't have a timer."
Everyone exchanged looks. "I'll go." Feliciano stepped forward to the man.
"What?!" Everyone wheezed in horror.
Feliciano looked down at her feet. "I've volunteered myself, and that's all that's needed right? Give me the bomb and I'll go in and take this thing out."
"Feliciano…" Ludwig stared at him.
Feliciano, the normal crybaby, was sacrificing himself for the safety of mankind. "I won't let you." Feliciana shouted.
"Why not? I'm tired of being the weakest one of everyone. I want to prove myself!"
"But you live in a world that still lives. If anything it should be one of us since our world is practically dead already." Feliciana grabbed the sides of his arms. "I'll go."
"No!" Amelia said. "Let me go. I'm always boasting about being a heroine, but I've got nothing to prove for it."
"That would be a selfish act Amelia. You'd be killing more than just yourself." Franҫoise pointed out.
Amelia's eyes widened in realization; "what does she mean Amelia?" Alfred looked at her with concern, but he already pieced it together when she rubbed her belly.
He stood in silence, letting all the crap sink in.
"This isn't fair." Sakura covered her face with her hands. "Nobody should have to die."
Feliciana then shouted again. "I'll go!" She pointed at the soldier. "Prepare that bomb I'm going in."
"Are you crazy?!" Monika cried. "I'm not letting you go again!"
The soldier, as well as multiple others, came back with a metal backpack which they strapped onto Feliciana. "Feli~ no…." Alice let down her tears.
"It's okay. Our world is dying anyways. I'll go. If anything I'm happy. The war will hopefully be one step closer to done."
"Feliciana." Monika stepped up and hugged her tightly, then so did Franҫoise, Anya, Chun, Sakura, Amelia, and Alice. Then the guys joined in.
She lightly pushed them all away and they walked to the force field where she planted her hands against it and, with one last goodbye, pushed her way through back into Hell. She saw the Queen as she began to mass produce more Kaydoms in the pods, but as disgusted as she was, Feliciana remained. The Queen paid her no mind since she was so small in comparison. She was about to walk when suddenly another body came through.
"Feliciana hold on." Monika grabbed Feliciana's hands and looked into her eyes.
"Monika what are you doing here?"
"Feliciana…I don't want to see you go."
Feliciana smiled painfully as Monika's lips shook. "Feliciana?"
"Yes?" Feliciana knew what she was about to say, and still her mind drew blanks all over.
Monika leaned in and kissed Feliciana on the lips, holding her tightly even if she was wearing the backpack. Feliciana, first surprised, held Monika as well since for the first time during the war her mind was clear. Monika broke away and looked back at Feliciana.
"I love you, and that's why I can't let you do this."
"Mon-." But Monika had pinched the back of Feliciana's neck, knocking her out.
She pushed her through the force field, taking the pack with her. When Feliciana's body fell through, everyone scrambled to surround her. She came to and saw everyone staring at her, her mind fuzzy…then she realized."
"MONIKA!" She shouted, trying to get through the force field, but Amelia and Sakura stopped her.
"Feliciana calm down!"
"Calm down? CALM DOWN?! FUCKERS YOU JUST LET MONIKA DIE! BURN IN HELL YOU BASTARDS AND LET ME GO!"
"She told us she was only going in to say goodbye, but then you came back unconscious and she was already running away from the border. There was nothing we could do." Amelia looked into the goo.
"No…."
She was pulled away by the soldiers who were surrounding the force field. "Let me go!" Feliciana shouted as she kicked the hands holding her away.
She ran to the shield, but it was too late. Before she could push her way through the bomb detonated and the entire inside of the shield shook and filled with fire and smoke. The top of the shield had even erupted giving the dome a volcanic stature. She fell back in shock, everyone else holding each other or staring intensely at the confined explosion.
They all stood solemnly for nearly ten minutes, and then the man came back to Alfred before anybody even moved. "Sir it has been confirmed that those invaders are dropping like flies all over the world. The invasion is over."
The war that had killed billions was done. Everything that's been sacrificed and found, lost and destroyed, had all led up to this moment where the queen died. Still, there was no celebration.
Alfred looked at him, eyes dulled to nothing. "But at what cost?"
-Sorry I don't know anything about bombs
