A/N: Truth be told I'll likely rewrite this chapter. Parts of it I like and parts I don't. So be warned and Feedback is welcomed.
Chapter 5: Mt. Moon and Cerulean City.
After their Pokemon were healed and a restful night's sleep the foreign duo left out early for Mt. Moon, wanting to get through it before night falls. They each had battle different trainers along the way as well, as wild Pokemon. Naruto using this chance to raise his newly hatched Scorbunny and Torchic up some and was proud to say they were both close to their evolution.
Both caught some new Pokemon. Naruto catching a shiny male Nidoran and Ayumi caught shiny Mankey, apparently you just need Naruto around to find any shinies yourself.
As they made their way through Mt. Moon they found an unusual amount of Moon Stones laying around and remains of lights and other electrical equipment. Following it out of curiosity, they found a large room with a sizable hole in the center of it. And the area showed remnants of a battle accruing.
'What do you think happened here, daddy?' Questioned Lilynette.
"Well the obvious is a battle and from the hole I say it was for whatever laid here." Naruto answered while taking a closer look. "From the looks of the tracks it was mainly Clarify here and from the looks of it there was six humans here as well. These tracks are a fresh, maybe an hour at most."
"I think we should follow it." Ayumi stated, before looking at Naruto, "If the tracks are as fresh as you say, then there's a chance whoever took this is still there."
'Yeah daddy, it's obviously important to the Clefairy, we have to help!' Came Lilynette urgent reply.
"I say go for it kit, I could use a little workout." Was Kurama's suggested request.
Sigh, "Seems I don't have a choice in the matter. Alright lets go." Was his dull reply.
"Alright!" Ayumi shouted with excitement. She took a step towards the hole and looked down it, "Um how are we gonna get down there? I don't hav-" Ayumi was cut off as a blue hue came over her body and she was gently lifted into the air. Freaking out a bit she looked towards her travel companion to see the same thing was happening to him.
"Relax Ayumi this is just my psychokinesis at play." Naruto calmly spoke. Seeing her calm down he continued, "Sorry for not warning you, but I feel time is of the essence and this is our fastest way down. Now be prepared to 'fly' fast " was the only warning she got as both of them shot down the hole at an impressive speed.
Within a few minutes they reached the end of tunnel, with Naruto slowing them down to a crawl, he slowly raise Ayumi and himself till just their heads peeked out the top, only to find long magenta haired woman and a violet haired man in front of the hole, luckily their backs were towards them and across from them was scientists, a tanned skin teenager, that looked like a younger Flint the Pewter City Gym Leader, a carrot top girl and a raven haired boy wearing a baseball cap and what looked like Z's on his cheeks.
Seeing the last person made Naruto's eyes widen and almost gave away their position. Looking towards Ayumi, who turned towards him, they each gave a nod and Ayumi reached for a Poke'Ball and Naruto gave a signal to Kurama and together "Nidorino Ice Beam/Kurama Shadow Ball!"
The Ice Beam hit the man and woman first, freezing them solid, and the Shadow Ball hit them directly after causing an explosion and sending them and a Meowth, neither saw at first, into the sky disappearing into the distance and shocking the group of four in front of them. However as the cap wearing boy got over his shock he looked towards the two and his eyes lit up in recognition at the site of the redhead.
"Naruto is that you?!" He shouted as he ran towards the boy, ignoring his two friends as they told him to stop.
The red haired boy gave them a lazy grin, before replying, "Hey Ash its been quite awhile hasn't it?" As he shook his old friend's offered hand.
"Yeah it has, not since the Pokemon Summer Camp, have I seen you or Serena." He replied as he smiled, before taking notice of the silverette, "Oh sorry and you'd be?"
"No worries and I'm Ayumi Devon of Jubilife City of the Sinnoh Region." She answered and shook his hand, "And judging by your words you must be Ash Ketchum right" she stated more than asked.
"Yeah that's right." He said before his eyes widened, "Oh and these are my friends, that's Misty, that's Brock and this is Pikachu." As he pointed at the girl, the older teen, and confirmed who they thought he was, and to the yellow Mouse Pokemon that claimed on to his shoulder.
"Hey I'm Naruto Uzumaki-Namikaze and if you didn't hear this is Ayumi Devon. Also this is Lilynette and Kurama." He lazily greeted, ignoring their shocked looks, before turning his attention back to his friend, "So what was all that just a moment a go anyway?"
"Oh that was Team Rocket up to their usual antics. This time they were trying to steal the Clefairy's Moon Stone." He explained, "Thanks for the help by the way, but how'd you know where its was?"
"Simple we follow the lighting equipment and found where a battle had occurred and everyone wanted to find it and help out if need be." Naruto explained with a yawn and lazied wave of his hand, getting Ash's friends to feel sweat dripping down the back of their heads at his attitude and getting the rest to laugh about it.
"Still the same as always huh." Ash laughed out.
"I wouldn't be me otherwise." He said with a shrug. Before looking at the large Moon Stone and the Clefairy around it, 'Do you need help with getting that back to where it was originally?' he mentally asked the Clefairy.
Clearly this shocked the Fairy Pokemon, but was able to respond, 'Yes if you don't mind.'
'Leave it to us.' "Lilynette I'll need some help getting this back to its original spot." Getting a nod and ignoring the comments about needing heavy machinery to do such a thing, Naruto and Lilynette used their Psychic abilities to left meteorite and started the slow process of moving it back to the Clefairy's home.
"How is he doing that and why are you two not surprised about it?!" Came Misty's erratic questions.
Chuckling nervously Ash responded, "Well I knew him back when I was 5 during Summer Camp that Professor Oak held and he showed me and another friend of ours what he could do. It seem he's gotten better control as back then he could barely left the three of us at once."
"He told me about his powers the other night" Ayumi said with a shrug.
30 minutes later
It took Naruto and Lilynette half an hour to get that two ton rock back to its original resting area and he had the biggest headache he's ever had. While lifting the Moon Stone boulder thing, was easy maintaining it for a long period of time is something he needs to work on.
"Oh, hey your back already!" Ash shouted only to see him wince, "You okay?"
"Apparently maintaining my psychokinesis for prolonged periods has painful drawbacks, in the forms of headaches." He quietly said, as he made his way towards his backpack and rummaged through it and found what was looking for. It was a vile of green liquid, he opened it shot it down and shuddered at the taste. "That was horrible, but I should be fine in about ten minutes or so."
Before anyone could ask what it was they saw Naruto lay down and immediately started snoring. Bewildered Brock asked, "D-Did he just fall asleep, instantly?"
Ayumi and Ash both answered, "You get used to it."
Walking to where the vile was Misty picked it up and read, "Headache remedy, that's all it says." As she looked over every inch of the vile.
"I guess we have to wait?" Brock wondered.
'Yes the medicine daddy took works faster when he's asleep or so he says.' Lilynette said before narrowing her eyes at the end, but made no move to wake him.
"Did that Pokemon just talk!" Ash, Misty and Brock shouted, causing Ayumi to wince at the volume.
"Yes she did and her name is Lilynette." She answered with narrowed eyes. "Plus why are you surprised? From what you told me that Meowth from Team Rocket could speak."
"Oh right sorry." they sheepishly apologized.
"What's this about a talking Meowth?" Asked the now awake Naruto.
"Nothing much, but apparently that Meowth that was with the Team Rocket members we sent flying, could speak like Kurama." Ayumi answered.
"Huh, neat." Was all he said. "So what now?"
"I was hoping for a Pokemon Battle!" Was Ash's quick response.
"Sure." Was the unenthusiastic reply, causing Brock and Misty to face fault. "One v one sound good to you?"
(A/N: I'll admit I'm not good at Battle Scenes, just yet, but once I get more practice I'll come back and rewrite all battle scenes)
Nodding in agreement and excitement Ash ran out to put some safe distance between them. "Alright Pikachu let's show him what we can do!" He exclaimed getting a "Pika!" In return.
Naruto stared at the yellow Mouse Pokemon in thought, "Am I correct to assume that Pikachu is your starter?" Getting a nod of confirmation he continued, "If that's so then it's only fair I use my starter as well. Lilynette ready to shine!"
"Pikachu start off with Thunder Shock!"
Giving a cry of its name, Pikachu fired off a medium size bolt of lightning towards the Melody Pokemon
"Redirect it with Psybeam and use Relic Song then Zen Headbutt!" Doing as told Lilynette used her powers to redirect the lightning bolt while singing her, causing her to change into he Pirouette Form and charged in to headbutt Pikachu.
"Quickly Pikachu use Quick Attack to dodge it!" Using its impressive speed, Pikachu dodge Lilynette headbutt and started to speed around to confuse her.
'Lilynette use Grass Knot and trip him, then use Teeter Dance to confuse him!' was the redheads mental order.
Lilynette focused her power to grow some knotted grass in front of the speeding mouse, tripping it. Seeing the opening Lilynette stood in front of Pikachu and started a strange dance that soon had the mouse doing the same. Once the dance was over, it left Pikachu with swirls in its eyes as it wobbled to and fro.
Ash, also being confused as to all of what happened, "Come on buddy snap out of it and use Electro Ball"
Dispite its current status ailment Pikachu actually created an orb of electricity and fired it, but it was way off course.
"Alright Lilynette let's end it with an Icy Shadow Claw!"
Lilynette focused on her hands and formed shadow like claws that looked to have frost covering them. She quickly changed the mouse and unleashed a fury slashes at it, until Pikachu collapsed.
"Well looks like I win this time Ash."
"Yeah but the next time I'll be the winner!" Ash exclaimed with a grin.
"We'll see, but it's getting late. Why don't we set up camp for the night and I'll start up some dinner?" The whiskered trainer suggested.
Getting nods of agreement they begin doing just that. Once done everyone begane to enjoy the curry that Naruto had made. While eating the resident water specialist remembered a question she had been meaning to ask.
"Naruto I've been meaning to ask, but do you happen to be related to the Kushina Uzumaki by chance?"
Said boy turned his lazy stare to the carrot top girl and keep it there for a few seconds, before answering, "Yes she's my mother."
Eyes lighting up in excitement she exclaimed, "No way you have to introduce me to her!"
Staring again he studied her, causing her to fidget, "Why would I do such a thing?"
"Dispite being a coordinator and using fire types, she's a master of water types and it's my dream to be a water type master!" As she explained and everyone could see the excitement and passion she had.
Thinking it over for a bit he finally responded, "If the circumstances ever present themselves, I see no problem introducing you to her."
This caused her to cheer, "Thank you so much!" Only for him to lazily wave her off. But this lead to Brock asking a question of his own.
"If you don't mind me asking, but why are you two starting your journeys here and not in your home region?"
Ayumi gave a simple answer, "I just wanted to."
Naruto explained his own reasoning, " Both of my parents started here, so I figured I'd do the same."
After that they, or so Naruto, answered more questions such was what kind of Pokemon Lilynette and Kurama we're and so on ad so forth till it was time to turn in for the night.
Next morning
After everyone awoke they all had breakfast and set up their plans for the day.
"So why are you wanting to stay here a bit longer for?" Ash asked with the others looking at Naruto curious as well.
Sighing once more, "Simply because I want to catch a Clefairy and I've heard there as been sightings of Bronzor in Mt. Moon" he explained.
"Hmm I wouldn't mind getting a Clefairy either so I don't mind staying a bit longer." Ayumi said in agreement.
"Well I guess this is goodbye for now, till we meet up again anyway." Ash said with a small smile.
"Yup, until then." Naruto responded and shook the offered hand. And with that Ash and his group left, while Naruto and Ayumi started their search for the Pokemon they wanted.
It was harder than they thought it would be to find their respective Pokemon, a day and half to be exact, but in the end they found them with both catching a Clefairy, Naruto catching a shiny Bronzor and Ayumi getting a very lucky surprise at finding an Absol.
The rest of their day the spent training their Pokemon and after that it took them four days to reach Cerulean City, it would've been a shorter trip had they not stopped at mid afternoon to continue their training.
During this time, Naruto's Torchic and Scorbunny evolved and, thanks to their portable Pokemon Global Transporters, he was able to train more, but was able to evolve more of his Pokemon.
Naruto wasn't the only one to get some evolutions. Ayumi decided to go ahead and evolve her Nidorino into a Nidoking and her Magby evolved into a Magmar and a couple more to boot.
Once they made it to Cerulean City they headed straight to the Poke'Center to get their current party check out and rent a room for the night or so. Now they were in the cafeteria eating dinner while discussing what to do next.
"I say we hit Route 24 first and then the Gym. You're wanting to catch an Abra and Oddish, I'm wanting a Bellsprout and a few water types." Was Naruto's reasoning.
Ayumi sat in thought about it, she was really itching for a gym battle, but the thought of getting new Pokemon and letting them get some experience seemed to out weigh her fighting spirit. "Alright that sounds good. Let's get an early start in the morning." Getting a nod they finished their dinner and called it a night soon after.
Next morning
Getting their early start as they wanted, dispite Naruto falling back to twice in their room and once during breakfast, they were now both at the water's edge with their rods hoping to catch something soon. They already caught the land Pokemon they wanted with Ayumi getting a shiny Oddish.
While waiting for a bite Naruto kept a lazied stare on the silverette's Nidoking doing laps in the water, "I can't believe how fast you Nidoking has taken to the water."
Looking up from the water she gave a small 'hmm, before saying, "Yeah he's doing great isn't he? Keep it up Nidoking!" And to his surprise, Nidoking started swimming faster. "Oh we gotta bite!" She exclaimed as he looked down to confirm that they indeed had a bite. Both quickly pulled a shiny Horsea for Ayumi and a shiny Karrby for Naruto. "Well tarveling with you sure does net me some shinies quite often." She said with a smile.
"Yeah that maybe, but this still doesn't ma-" he started to say only for Ayumi to cut him off.
"Please don't, this would be the fifth time you've complained about this." She said with an exhausted sigh. "Alright Oddish let's see what you can do!" As the walking radish took its spot in front of its new trainer.
"You as well, Bellsprout!" The dancing vine did the same as Oddish and was ready to prove itself to its trainer. "Start off with Vine Whip!"
Extending two thin vines from its body, it wrapped around Krabby's body and slammed into the ground twice before letting go. Krabby shook off the attack and retaliated by firing of a Mud Shot at Bellsprout and hitting its mark damaging it and covering its body with mud, slowing it down.
In a surprising bust of speed, Krabby rush Bellsprout with its claws at the ready.
"That Krabby knows Agility. Bellsprout use Giga Drain!" The draining of its health caused Krabby to trip and taking his chance Naruto threw a Net Ball and it successfully captured it.
Meanwhile
"Alright Oddish start with Stun Spore and then use Razor Leaf" shacking it body Oddish produced a yellow powder hitting the Horsea causing making it sluggish to move. But Horsea was able to make a Smokescreen.
This caused Oddish to look around frantically, "Oddish calm down and fire a wide spread Razor Leaf!"
Relaxing a bit Oddish repeatedly flung its head left and right shooting of razor sharp leaves. Hearing cry's of pain Ayumi had Oddish cease its attack and waited for the Smokescreen to clear and when it did, it showed a knocked out Horsea letting Ayumi to throw a Lure Ball Catching the Pokemon without struggle.
"I see you had an easier time than I did catching your Pokemon." Naruto said with a little humor in his lazy tone.
She smiled and shrugged, "Well that just mean your Krabby is strong."
"I guess so. You ready to challenge the Gym?" Seeing her nod her head rapidly, they recalled their Pokemon and made way for the Gym.
Ten minutes later
We see the red and silver haired trainers walking out of the Gym with scowls on their faces. The Gym Battle was a joke. It only took one attack from Oddish and Bellsprout to win the battle. The 'Sensational Sister's' were more worried about their water ballet than maintaining a Gym as Gym Leader's.
"Can you believe that! Those girls are jokes not Gym Leader's!" Ayumi vented to her companion.
Naruto nodded agreeing with her, "I have half I mind to report this to the Pokemon League. A Gym is supposed to motivate trainers to get stronger and do their best, but all this Gym teaches is that they're nothing but an easy wins."
Agreeing Ayumi said, "While you have half a mind I got a full one. I'll be reporting this as soon as we get back to the Poke'Center."
"Then so shall I, afterwards let's train our Pokemon for the rest of the day and leave out to Vermilion City early in the morning." Seeing her nod of agreement they did just that.
