Me: Hey everyone! :3 just an update before you read XD So my laptop has been giving me problems and I am currently using a new laptop and when I am not updating here on I am putting up art and stuff on Deviantart so please go ahead and enjoy and if you want you can give me a watch! Thank and i hope you enjoy this next instalment of Voices from the past. I will also be making art for the stories on here soon starting with Hailey's tiara, I am also apologising for the long wait as well soooo here we go! :3

Chapter 5: Trickery

Finally arriving at Sophie's house, Jack tried to lie the little girl down into her bed, but her arms were tight around his neck. Hailey smile softly and quietly laughed at the sight of Jack trying to get Sophie to let him go but made her mind drift to her thoughts.. He finally pried Sophie's hands apart and put her on the bed he was about to turn and tell Hailey that they're leaving, until Sophie rolled off her bed, landing on the floor due to Jack leaving her too close to the edge of her bed. Hailey gave Jack a little slap on the back of his head with her hand. she went to scold him when they hear footsteps outside of the door.

"Sophie? Is that you!?" a woman's voice asked, it was Sophie's mother.

Jack quickly threw Sophie's blanket over her, along with her stuffed toy, making it appear that Sophie had rolled out of bed herself. Jack, Hailey, and Baby Tooth exited through the window and watched as Sophie's mom shook her head at the sight of her on the floor and laid her back on her bed with a tired smile.

"We should get back," Jack said. Hailey and Baby Tooth nodded in agreement, But before they could fly off, both Hailey and Jack heard something.

"Jack!" a girl's voice said.

"Hailey! a young man's voice said.

"That-that voice . . . . I know that voice . . ." Jack said, trying to remember where he may have heard it.

"I know it too," Hailey said feeling Nostalgia hit her, "it's calling out my name."

"Huh? I only hear my name." Jack stated confused.

"Really?" They both flew in the direction of the voices they had each heard, with Baby Tooth behind them, trying to tell them that they should really return to the guardians and keeping up as best as she could. Jack and Hailey saw that they were both flying in the same direction, which meant that the voices were probably together. Stopping on a roof, they listened again.

"Jack!"

"Hailey!" The voices were leading to a forest in the outskirts of town. They flew again into the forest. In the middle, there was a broken up bed frame. The male's voice still called out to her from another direction she was looking out into the woods, her ears were perked up but her attention was drawn to the bed that was in front of them

'Strange place to leave a bed,' Hailey thought. Baby Tooth knew that time was ticking and they needed to get back to the Warren. She grabbed Jack's hood and pulled on it, trying to say "let's go back now!"

"Don't worry, there's still time," Jack assured her. Baby Tooth tried to get Hailey's attention by pulling on her shirt.

"Baby Tooth, please." Baby Tooth rolled her eyes, but continued to follow the young spirits. Upon closer inspection of the bed frame, Jack and Hailey saw a large, deep looking hole in the ground.

Before Hailey could hear Jack speak the voice that called out to her called out to her and she couldn't take it anymore she leaped off the ground and took off with the wind to guide her

Floating on the wind she followed the voice she stopped at a cave and walked in.

"Sissy!" a voice cried out, causing Hailey to spring forward only to be grabbed by her arms. "what?"

A dark chuckle Filled her ears as she was once more tossed into a cage with her teeth and jacks dangling in front of her so close she could reach.

only for her hand to get smacked. Having enough she pulled out a small knife slashing the bars of the cage only to find out it was black sand, she leaped to grab the Teeth cases only to be sent flying with a strange force being hit to her stomach. a few minutes later crashing into Jack some how. Helping her up they look around for some sort of way out, only to hear the constant evil laugh of Pitch.

"Well, isn't this sweet," Pitch laughed while he appeared from the darkness, "but need I remind you two of something... you'll never be one of the guardians."

"You don't know who we are!" Jack remarked, holding his staff towards Pitch.

"Course I do, the weak little girl behind you is the Angel of Light and you're Jack Frost, you make a mess wherever you go unlike your little girlfriend; Why you're doing it right now." Pitch threw something shiny to Jack, it was his teeth case as well as Hailey's. Jack thought about what Pitch had said, "What'd you do?"

"Not to the point Jack, what'd 'you' do?" Pitch chuckled darkly as he vanished into the vast darkness of the shadows once more.

Jack quickly whispered to Hailey for him to follow him and charged towards where he saw Pitch, swinging his staff that was glowing blue while holding Hailey's hand tight in his. Everything suddenly became engulfed in darkness. Not feeling his staff hitting anything he tried in different directions while he tried to run a different direction with Hailey, but then met a wall.

Hailey was confused what was Pitch trying to do? and where were they? Was pitch playing a trick on them? that's when it all hit her. It was all a Trick on Jack. before she could warn him Pitch's laugh began to ring out around them once more.

"Happy Easter, Jack and Hailey," Pitch's voice said as the darkness and himself Vanished taking poor Baby Tooth with him.

They both turned around and gasped at the sight before them. They were in one of the tunnels that led the eggs to the world, and scattered everywhere were the eggs, all crushed and broken.

"No . . ." Jack breathed.

Hailey dropped to her knees her ears and tail drooping as she lightly touched the broken shells of the eggs that she, Bunny and the others had worked so hard to paint

"Bunny . . . ." Hailey whispered with remorse.

Me: Sorry for making this a short chapter, I wanted to get this out to you guys fast since it had took me so long, for those of you who don't know, As of one year last month, I lost my mom (May she rest in peace), and now that my mind is beginning to clear after just focusing on deviantart I think I am going to start writing stuff for here again! YAYY! So like I promised I am going to attempt drawing Hailey's tiara XD but in the meanwhile I have other art on deviantart so check it out!
