Chapter 18: Devastation Part 1

"Alright!" Nana's voice boomed with authority, grabbing everyone in the, 'Redemption's' hideout attention. "We tracked the A-class akuma resting somewhere in the Kokuyo distract, possibly trying to heal his wounds from our members who are currently hospitalized."

As she stopped to calm her rising anger, she could hear some of the members mutter, "Not the Kokuyo distract."

Nana snapped her head up to glare at the man who muttered, and demanded, "And why not the Kokuyo distract, exactly?"

The man jumped, not expecting to heard by his boss, and explained, "I-it's just that the redeemers there aren't known for being helpful in these situations. I just think that they-."

"Betray us?" Nana guessed, with her glare intensifing on the man. As if those words would determine his life, and with how angry she currently is, it might.

"NO!" The man responded, "Nothing that severe. I think that they'll just get more in way and try to beat the akuma alone."

"Would that be such a bad thing?" Nana asked, in a manner similar to how she lectured Tsuna when he did something bad as a kid. "If they do defeat the akuma, it just means that more lives were saved!" She took a breath to calm down, "Besides, even they will bend under these circumstances."

After that, most of the redeemers seem to agree with her, but were still nervous. Nana expected as much, this was the first A-class they had in a-while, but she didn't like it. "Listen up!" She demanded, "My group is heading over there to stall the akuma and kill if need be. As we have it pre-occipied, the rest of you will prepare the best restricting equipment we have."

A woman shouted, "RESTRICTING! You want to capture the thing? Are you planning to kill everyone here!?"

Nana gave the coldest glare she had ever given to that women. After some time, Nana responded, "No, you incompetent brat. If we capture the akuma, we might be able to learn more about the A-class akuma and how to defeat them in the future. Which, if you haven't missed, we don't have much of either. So, never accuse me of such an act in the future ever again."

The woman, who was quite shaken by the mere presence of Nana, quite shakenly muttered, "Y-yes ma'am." before sitting down.

"Now then," Nana continued, "You all will restrict the akuma. On the chance something will go wrong, have your spirits next to you before entering. If you feel that you or your comrade's life is endangered, then you have full permission to destroy the akuma. That's all, now go."

As she started walking towards Hana, Haru, and Kyoko she silently thought, 'Please allow all of us be alive by the end of this.'

Little did she know, what waited for her was a situation that reminded her of her nightmares.

Kyoko was still freaked out by how Reborn was so easily able to cornor her into that deal, but she still felt like it was the best way to keep her brother safe, and it wasn't like she helped a future enemy against them, right? She was snapped out of her thoughts when Nana came over saying, "Let's go."

"Master D!" An unknown redeemer announced to a tall, broad man with his short black hair pressed back. The man turned to the redeemer, who continued. "We have the akuma surrounded now. We are just waiting for your orders now."

The man gave a small nod, before his phone rang. "Dear, Nagi was in an accident!"

The man's eyes opened wide and he muttered, "What are you saying honey? What happened to Nagi, is she okay?"

"From what the trucker said, it seemed like he was just driving when a cat jump infront of him. He tried to stop, but was traveling too fast. That was when the stupid girl pushed the cat away and got hit! Now she's in intensive care and looks like she'll need new organs!"

The man's expression harden before asking, "What's the problem then? Are you two not the same blood type?"

"No, that's not it. But I'm not going to give my organs to her! I have a business to run!"

The man's expression fell into a frown, "You do realize by not giving her any of your organs, that she'll probably die right?"

"I don't care! I can't afford to donate of my organs to this unsocial girl!"

The man sighed, while thinking, 'I'm so sorry Nagi, but I choose the many before the few.' He continued, "Fine, just remember this though, I still love you honey."

"Dea-." was all the woman could mutter out before he had hung up.

"Uh, Master?" a nearby redeemer asked after hearing the entire conversation.

"I'm fine." Was the automatic response from the man. "I'm good, so, LET'S MOVE OUT!"

Reborn watched as his student was saved by Gokudera and Yamamoto from being killed. After they took Gokudera to the nurse office to remove the needles from his chest, (My first choice as well *-_-) He saw how Sora's resolve began to waver.

To stop it, he appeared out of nowhere saying, "Sorbaka, look at Gokudera." After his initial shock, Sora did what he was told and studied Gokudera's pained expression and bleeding chest. It scared him. "Now," Reborn continued, "change Gokudera with Tsuna." Sora's face changed instantly to a face of horror and worry.

Reborn almost smiled at the brotherly love, almost. "That will be his best condition if you give up now. You can't forget things that you're fighting for Sora."

"I know," Sora choked out, "But I'm scared. I know that I can't give up, but it's so hard not to when you see what could happen." Tears started falling from Sora's eyes, "Just, so hard not to..."

"TENTH!" Was Gokudera's sudden burst into the consersation. "I'm fi-n-e.." he started to faint but kept his eyes open. "So don't worry about Tsunayoshi-sama, he'll be fine. Even without us, he is Tenth's brother!"

With that said, and at how hard Gokudera was trying, Sora smiled gently and nodded his head. Reborn even smirked, 'Gokudera, with stuff like that, you may become his right-hand man let.'

Tsuna wasn't sure what exactly happened. One second, he was in a dark endless room that seemed to never end. The next, he was in a paradise with a flowing river and flowers. He saw one, beautiful, tree on slight hill, which just made it seem that much more mystic. He started walking closer to the tree when he felt something tell him to not.

Trusting his gut, Tsuna stopped and took a step to the right to notice that the place was not as it seemed. He saw that the other side of the tree was wilted and a field behind it was just as dead. After seeing that, he wanted to leave but stopped when he heard, "Kufufufufu, Now what do we have here?"

Satan scanned across the room, making sure that everyone was here and frowned slightly. "So Beelzebub didn't show up again? That's too bad. This is a subject that I would think he would enjoy to the fullest."

"It's not the removal of Lucifer as a sin, is it?" Abaddon asked with an unusal twinkle in his eye that promised more then just pain.

"Oh, no Aba-darling." Satan practically sang out. "Why would I remove the third cutest one here? This is different."

Lucifer let out a sigh of relief and asked in his most respectful voice, "What is it then Master Satan? If I may ask anyway."

Satan turned to Belial, instantly getting behind her, picked her up and whined, "Belial~, make him normal again~. I don't like it when he's all formal like this."

Before Belial could do anything, Lucifer immeditately yelled, "NO! I'm sorry, Satan. Just don't have her go inside my head again. I'll never send another akuma out of my group to the human world again! Please don't make her."

"Fine." Came an unusally deeper voice from Satan. "Down to business, it's about our time to meet the new generation of redeemers. We are to visit them in one months time, so prepare your finest pet. Belial and Lucifer stay, the rest of you are dismissed."

The second he said that, all of the silhouettes besides Belial's and Lucifer, disappeared. Satan looked at the two before asking, "You two brought what I asked?"

Belial gave a nod, and summoned a giant stack of pictures? After handing them to Satan, Belial stated, "Out of the 368 redeemer photos in that stack, 52 of them are fairly new."

Lucifer's face paled slightly and muttered, "I feel sorry for the poor sap you choose."

After going through the stack, multiple times, Satan held one picture with a familiar brown hair and muttered, "He's the one! With his small body and big eyes! He's the legendary, 'Perfect M'!" He turned to his companions and waved away. "Shoo, shoo, leave me alone to plot this one out!~"

Both nodded, and gave a full bow, before leaving their master. Both hoping his sadistic side stay hidden long enough for the mission to be completed.
