Chapter 21: A Day with the Demons
Nana had just gone to get something to drink, and she wasn't even gone for a minute. So of course the universe decided it was the best time to have her son wake up from his extended sleep, was when she was just taking a sip (of her rather hot) drink.
After the shock of having him wake up, worn out, she realized that she had split her freshly brewed coffee on herself. She excused herself, found and told a doctor about Tsuna's awakening, (I swear I didn't plan that!) and changed into the spare uniform that she kept on herself, AT ALL TIMES! (Think about how Hibari is with his Tonfas and you get the idea.)
After her quick change, the doctor explained to her that Tsuna was in perfect condition, but they wanted to keep him over night in-case something happened. She agreed to that and headed home for some much deserved rest.
Kyoko, after the entire Reborn situation, decided to see how Ryohei was doing. When she entered the room, she was surprised to see him writhing on the ground, holding his throat. She turned to get some help, when he grabbed her ankle, making her trip.
He swallowed hard, and shouted, "Sorry Kyoko! I was told by an EXTREMELY young doctor, that if I completely finished his drink, I would be fine again! However," his eyes drifted towards a cup that had a strange green, liquid, in it half-way empty, as he continued on dreadfully, "I had underestimated it's extreme taste..."
Kyoko released her breath, glad that her brother wasn't dying on her, and whispered almost too kindly, "It's fine Nii-san, I understand." Ryohei started sliding backwards, scared when his, oh-so-kind, sister used that tone. "But you know, you should listen to your doctor and finish your, 'medicine'."
Kyoko had grabbed Ryohei and the drink after saying that, and started forcing him to, 'take his medicine'. After a blood curdling scream, from you know who, Kyoko headed for her house with an unusally large smile on her face.
*The next day, Belial had just finished surveying the area around the zone where the, 'Behemoth' akuma was destroyed. She wasn't expecting much, 'Behemonths' were known for their defense over anything, but this was still too little damage. The only real damage was on the walls and the, slightly more than usual, dirty ground.
She was curious, but that was all she needed to do. Her eyes wandered around until she saw a girl, but not just any girl, a girl that had long purple hair, and dressed in a medical robe. Her curiosity flared and she started following her. Belial smiled, she may have found someone like herself!
"Goddammit man, will you stop taking every soul you see!?" Abaddon asked Beherit. The rather big man turned to Abaddon and frowned.
"I can't help it, they're just there, ready to be absorbed." He smiled slightly as he continued, "Besides, this way, they help the greater good!"
The two continued on like that for an hour, that was when a blob flew past their heads and hit a soul that Beherit was about to hit. They turned to see three girls, sweating and bruised, sparring with each other, but what caught their attention was what they were fighting with.
Each of the girls were using akuma destroying tools, Purges, ghost, and gloves. They were Redeemers. Abaddon quickly felt the power that Beherit suddenly started producing and whispered into his ear, "Calm down now, it was one soul, ONE SOUL! Do you really want to face Satan after not following his orders, do YOU!?"
Beherit clenched his fist and teleported somewhere to calm himself. Abaddon was about to follow when he saw something interesting, an old, 'friend' was being used in the sparring match. He couldn't contain the psychotic grin that he grew when he thought that he could, 'play' with him again.
As tempted as he was to just go down and say, 'Hi.' he couldn't afford upsetting Satan, so he decided that his, 'friend's master would be his next target. With that thought, he disappeared, leaving a trail of his blood-lust.
Leviathan wasn't in a great mood, ignoring the fact that one of her pets died, she was sent on a mission to decide who her next target will be. Why? Satan said so, that's why! To get it over with, she went to the hospital, hoping to find an easy target and leave.
However, the universe hates her, a lot apparently. Not only is Lucifer there, no that would have almost been okay, but Satan was also there! Of course, because it's her, they both noticed her at the same time! Yeah, the universe really did hate her.
The thing was, neither of them were really, themselves. They were talking kindly to each other, asking questions about their day and who they have in mind for the targets. It was, overall, very nerve racking and freaky.
What really got her, was when she asked to leave, they let her, without antagonizing her! Something was happening between them, and she's glad that they didn't make her apart of it. As for her next target, she walked into a room with a boy with blue hair, a shinai by his bed, and a small spirit by his side. Target acquired.
After Leviathan left, Lucifer and Satan immediately started glaring at each other. The killing intent between the two could be on par with Reborn's, when he doesn't get his coffee. (Yes, it's possible.)
"So," Satan started in his deep, business voice, "did you really mean what you said when we met at the entrance?"
Lucifer smiled with a cocky look and repeated, "I said, 'After this mission, I'm going to leave this group and start a new one.' that's it."
Satan's face showed no change as he said, "Why do you want to do that honey? I've always taken care of you, and everybody else, quite well. I'm sure we can talk it out."
Lucifer's face showed slight distaste, "Will you ever stop calling me honey and all that other crap!? I'm done with your lazy attitude, and how we have to move when only you can instruct! I'm done with having to follow your damn turtle paced way of doing things, and your, 'interests', scare me at times..."
Before Satan could speak up, something came rushing by and rambled, "He's gone! He's gone! How could he move with those injuries! Not good, not good."
Satan looked down, feeling that something wasn't quite right, and said in a hush tone, "Something's not right, we'll finish this later. Find your next target in the mean time."
Lucifer gave a confused look and asked, "What about you?"
Satan smiled as he answered, "I had picked one before we left, I just wanted to see how he was doing since I heard he was hospitalized." and with that, Satan left.
Kano left the hospital in a hurry, he's not the biggest fan of being taken care of. But of course, as soon as he leaves, he enters a combat barrier. He quickly ready himself for a fight against an akuma, but what he saw confused him.
First, the barrier was blood red, and instead of the surrounding buildings that were usually there, there was nothing but a cracked up ground, and what was standing in the barrier? A tall, buff, bald man with light purple skin, fly wings, and black nails. His killing intent was strong enough that it manifested itself as a fog covering the floor.
When the man pointed towards Kano and announced, "You'll be my target." Kano grew a very large and psychotic smile and replied, "Bring it then, you bastard."
Reborn was just having one of those days where his warning senses were going off all the time. He was really getting annoyed by this, and it seemed to have been happening all the time. He was going to have to push back the date that was going to confront Nana, because of this. Although he hasn't usually been affected, this one even made him pause. Something was going to happen soon, and it's not going to be good.
