Chapter 24: Training (Part 1)

Tsuna was waken up by Lal at 8 a.m. She told him to follow her and he did, all the way to Namimori's pier. Once they arrived there, Tsuna's curiosity got the best of him and asked, "What are we doing here Lal-san?"

Lal turned to him, as a giant submarine surfaced behind her, and answered, "Intensive training, maggot!"

Nana was stood outside 'Redemption's Cake Shop' waiting for Mochida's arrival. Kyoko had already shown up and left with her mentor, Katsou. Hana was beside her, waiting patiently to start the training.

Mochida arrived around ten o'clock. When Nana saw him, she gave him a piece of paper and explained, "This is where you'll be going to for the next month. After the training, we will be facing off against akuma around the same strength as the one you saw before. Now move!"

With a small yelp, Mochida ran towards his destination. He soon reached a small restaurant with an older man waiting outside.

The man glanced at him with a look, sizing him up. He then asked, "Are you from the Redemption shop?" Mochida answered with a quick nod, and the man sighed. "I always get the novices. Come with me."

The man turned before Mochida gave an answer, and started walking to a dojo, hidden behind the store. Mochida followed him inside, where the space around him seemed... wrong. He expected a wooden interior, maybe with mats on the ground, but what he got was a completely black room.

He turned to the man and that's when he saw the two figures dressed like samurais behind him. After looking around, he noticed Jiro was right beside him.

"So, that's your spirit. You two have a nice bond, prepare a stance." The man ordered.

Mochida, who became more and more fustrated with the situation, yelled, "Why? What's going on, and who are you!?"

The man smirked, "Defeat me and I'll tell you."

Kyoko dropped to her knees, breathing ragged and heavily. Amane and Ryo were beside her, beaten and ready to defend Kyoko. Eri and Chiyo were on the ground, immoblized.

Before them was a rather handsome man dressed nicely with two spirits beside him. The man sighed as he mumbled, "I'm a little disappointed. When I saw how many spirits she had, coupled with the fact that Miss S called me personally. *Sighs* Oh well."

He looked at her bent down and told her, "You have too little stamina, if you had one or two less spirits, you might have been able to hit me. Your spirits, besides that knight, aren't that powerful, but since you have so many spirits, he can't reach his full power. If I didn't paralyzed those two spirits, your body wouldn't be able to move."

Kyoko stared straight back into the man's eyes, "I'm not done yet, I can still continue!" The man said nothing, and simply showed her his hand, and snapped his fingers. Eri and Chiyo suddenly pushed themselves off the ground, and Kyoko's body tensed, forcing her to the ground.

The man kept his cool gaze on her, as he stated, "See, your body can't even handle powering your other spirits. If you try to fight, you'll probably die. I can see that we'll have to switch you with a different redeemer once-." He cut himself off when Amane tried to slice him, which he dodged.

"I told you I'm not done yet!" Kyoko screamed as she started pushing herself off the ground. The man didn't miss her body trembling or her breathing becoming even more ragged.

"Enough," The man began, his spirits disappeared from where they were. "We're done for now, you have an hour to rest and eat. We'll continue after lunch." When it looked like she was going to argue, he added, "If we continue now, your body will collapse upon itself, and then you wouldn't be able to train for who knows how long."

The man turned and started walking away when he swore he heard, "Thank you sensei." from the girl, but he probably missed heard it.

Hana couldn't tell how long it's been since they started, but she knew since the very start, she had been losing. Miss S said it was a test to see her survival skills, but in actuality, it was her running away in the woods from Nana and her purges. Every time she thought she could stop to set up a trap, a sudden blast would appear forcing her to move on.

At one point, Hana considered trying to attack Nana head on, but that was the same as suicide. She had planned to keep it as an idea, but a side of a mountain decided to make her go through with it.

She had cursed under her breath and turned to see Nana with her ever present smile on her face. Hana noted that she only had a single charged purge in her hand. Hana had a purge, Redeemer gloves, some flash bombs and some holy water on her. Things aren't looking too well for her.

Nana kept the gun aimed at her as one hand drifted behind her to grab another weapon. The moment Nana eyes moved, Hana moved and reached for the flash bombs. She threw them and shielded her eyes. After the flash, she reached for her purge and started charging it.

She heard a sound of a purge firing and rushed Nana. When she got in-front of her, she saw her covering her eyes with an un-charged purge in her hand. What she had missed, was the smirk Nana had when Hana pointed the purge at her. Nana swung the arm that was covering her eyes at the purge in-front of her, raising another fully charged purge to Hana's face, and firing.

Reborn will admit, he was slightly (just a bit) surprised at how quickly I-pin had improved with Fon around. Her attacks were accurate and wasted considerably less energy from before. Though he found something off with his vision, because for whatever reason, would pick up this weird baby-pig-thing near I-pin at random points of the fight. Maybe he needed rest...
