Chapter 26: The Rematch...es
Kano's smile soon fell into a death glare that landed directly upon Hibari, who was returning the glare of his own. Between the two, the killing intent was so thick that one could probably cut the air if they wanted to.
Before either could charge towards each other, Kusakabe stepped forward. "Hibari-san, please don't waste your time with this brat." Kano twitched at the term, 'brat'. "I will deal with him, besides I still need to repay him for what he did to, to, to Yagimoto!"
Kano was taken back, wondering who this Yagimoto character was until remember the kid that fainted from the kick in the leg. Before he could oppose fighting Kusakabe, he saw his fist headed straight for him. He tried jumping backwards, but Kusakabe's fist slammed into him before he got to far away, launching him to the other side of the roof.
"You're not fighting the same man that you fought a while ago brat." Kusakabe informed, while he took off his jacket revealing a long-sleeve, button up shirt. "Since the day that I lost to you, I've trained so hard that there have been times that I thought that I'd die. Now if you don't want to die, then come at me for real!"
Kano grit both his teeth and fist harder, a weak glow started to surround his gloves, then his body. While Kusakabe stared at him strangely, Kano launched himself right in-front of him and punch his abdomen, which felt like punching solid steel. Kano winced slightly before Kusakabe grabbed his arm, picked him up, and slam him harshly onto the ground.
"Didn't you listen to what I just said?" Kusakabe asked angrily, "If you don't fight me seriously, I will kill you. If that's your best, then you better leave now." Kano's body started to glow more violently, his muscles started to bulge, and Kusakabe had to shield his eyes with his free arm.
Kano death glared was directed at Kusakabe as he growled out, "Fine, I'll get more serious, but don't blame me for any injuries that you receive." He then grabbed Kusakabe's wrist, pulled himself up, and then threw an uppercut right into Kusakabe's jaw. The uppercut loosened Kusakabe's grip on Kano's arm, which he used to throw a straight jab into Kano's diaphragm.
Kusakabe started to cough heavily, falling to knees from the pain. Kano then slammed his fist into Kusakabe's face, launching him right in-front of Hibari, who seemed even more angry than usual.
Kano kept a cold stare on both of them as he asked, "Shall we start now, pest?"
Before Hibari could retort, Kusakabe spoke up, "What are you talking about?" He started forcing himself off the ground, blood dripping from his mouth. "We're still in the middle of our fight brat!" He was wobbling on his two legs, one arm was wiping some of the blood off of his mouth. "Now let's continue."
Hibari gazed at Kusakabe, got out his tonfas, and demanded, "Stand down Kusakabe, this herbivore is mine."
What Hibari didn't expect was his answer, "No." Hibari turned furiously towards Kusakabe, but stopped when he saw his eyes. "This is still my fight, I can't let this end with you having to finish it for me, not with what this brat has done to both this school and the committee!"
Hibari gripped his tonfas harder, but said nothing else. Kusakabe grew a small smile but it faded quickly as charged towards Kano. Kano waited for Kusakabe to be closer before flipping over him, grabbing the collar of his shirt and slamming him into the ground. Kano and Hibari watched him for a few seconds, looking for any movement, there wasn't.
"That's one pest down," Kano started, he turned to face Hibari who was giving a death glare with so much killing intent that Kano could feel it. "One to go."
Tsuna didn't have to time to think, his body was moving on it's own. He could feel bullet's graze him as he tried to dodge all of them, just trying to find an opening to use the needle whip that Satou and Watanabe turned into.
Lal, who was using pistols, notice that Tsuna was edging closer, she fired at all possible areas that Tsuna could move. To her surprise, instead of using the shield to block all the bullets and rush her, which was what she was expecting, he used the whip to get rid of the bottom row of bullets, slide under them, and then swung the whip, sending all of the needles from the whip at her.
She smiled at the improvement, but she jumped to the side to avoid the needles. That's when she was surprised again when Tsuna was already there with the whip about to hit her. On pure reaction, she grabbed the whip and fired her pistol directly into Tsuna's chest.
"Nice try kid," Lal admitted, "you actually almost had me. However you never actually hit me, you failed."
"What!?" Tsuna shouted in confusion and frustration. "I did everything else you've told me to do though! Besides, what can I do when you grab my weapon?"
"Actually," Satou interrupted, "there's a technique that you can use." This caught both Tsuna's and Lal's attention. "However, it's tricky and deadly at times, but with how things are turning out, we know that you need to learn this."
Tsuna raised an eyebrow as he aked, "What is it?"
Satou looked slightly uncomfortable as he asked, "You know what Multiple-personality disorder is, correct?"
Tsuyoshi watch with slight pride at how much his disciple was growing within the short time. He was NO WAY close enough to fight any of Devil's, but there's a slim chance if he kept progressing at this rate.
Vino would classify himself as an upperclassman individual, always wearing nice suits, always clean, and just naturally lucky, especially when he was contacted by Miss S herself. He could tell that she was also one who was apart of the upperclassman, especially with the way she carried herself, so naturally he expected an upperclassman student to train.
He then sighed as he saw his student releasing so much energy to each of her spirits. He was sorely disappointed. He would never see how hard it was to people to control the spirits they made contracts with. It wasn't even a thing he could teach, he was just a naturally expert. He does have to admit, he can feel that she's getting closer to his own technique, whatever that was.
Sora is getting gradually more and more scared. Tsuna and Lal have been gone for almost a week now with no signs of returning. Kaa-san has been arriving later and later lately as well. Nothing seems to be going normally anymore. Reborn also seems to be getting slightly more edgy lately. He really started to miss the days before, when they were all a big happy family. He hesitated to think of it, but will they never be that again?
Thank you for the reviews Dustflame, lovelydragonfly, Akayuki Novak, RenaScarlet, and Dame-Sensei
Sorry for the INSANELY-LATE chapter guys, but school did not give me ANY breaks. Hope you all can understand.
So I thought that I should put just a small view into Sora's head to see how he's dealing with his missing brother and mother who is gone for large lengths of time. Also, can anyone tell that I really enjoy writing Kusakabe in this story. I don't know why, but it just so fun.
PS. I know have a DeviantArt profile. Not going to do much with it, but I figured why not.
