"Ugghhh..." Izuku's face had sour expression
"Well! With that, it should take around a few hours for it work, so that the hair digests and you know the rest!" said Allmight
"That was disgusting...but what are we supposed to do after it's transferred?"
"Training, of course!" said Allmight, before coughing up blood again and reverting back to his small form, "You will receive training, but not from me"
"Huh?! Wait why?!"
"As embarrassing as it sounds for me as your mentor, I am not a good teacher...I mean, I've never taught anyone in general, maybe some minor stuff I do know about it, but that's all there is...and finally when it comes to OFA, I was able to use it pretty fast, as in pretty much instantly...so because of which, I absolutely can't be sure as to how to teach you about OFA, especially considering the fact that it's far stronger than when I got it!"
"Oh..." Izuku looked a bit depressed and disappointed before asking, "Wait, who are these people, you are talking about?"
"Well..." Izuku could identify a few emotions from Allmight...unease, unsureness and fear...but why?
"You will see Young Midoriya! I will make sure to be their to cheer you on to distract and ease any pain you will get from the beating you are gonna experience!" Allmight said all while keeping his signature smile, trying and failing to assure the young successor
"A beating..." All Izuku could feel right now was uneasiness and slight terror at hearing his mentor's words, "well I guess, nothing done now, I should just man up and face the beating, if I want to be a hero"
"That's the spirit, young man! Now let's get going!"
"Wait where?"
"First to your home for you to rest up a bit and let OFA be fully transferred, I would be gone for that few hours to do all the preparations to do you training. After that, I will come to pick you up again, so let's go!" He finished as he started walking back to his truck
"I see..." Izuku replied before following Allmight
The scene changed to some kind dark place, only illuminated by the lights and glare of the machinery in it
And in this place lies someone who could only be described as nearly faceless with a single glance
He is face seeming as if it's healed after being bludgeoned really hard, all while being attached to tubes in the neck, probably due to not having a nose
He wore a formal black suit and white button-up shirt, with no tie
He was watching something in a monitor that before, while having a smile, that seems lika facade he puts on to disguise his true emotions...if he had much at all
"Tomura...you should start recruiting some members for yourself, you know...it might be good way for you to learn as to how to lead your allies in the future, once you succeed me!"
A voice came from the monitor, "I mean I do wanna do that...but is it really fine do that right now sensei? Like is it really the time to do it?"
"Yes Tomura, it is better the sooner you start, you see...your dear sensei any not be able to guide all the time, you know...and the more time passes the more I become weaker, which means even less likely for me to be there for you...because of that I ask Tomura...would you be willing to start to among yourself worthy to my throne? It means you can finally get your dream to be true, essentially!"
Tomura, as he is called, wasn't sure as to what to say right now, while he did want to one day succeed his sensei and achieve his dream, it seemed a bit hard to pull off maybe sometime later in the future, perhaps...
"Sensei, could you give me sometime to think about it over, perhaps?"
"Hmm? Sure Tomura, take your time...just be sure it doesn't take to long though, okay?"
"Sure!" After recieving that reply, the screen on the monitor changed, indicating the call has been cut off
"Hmm...you sure are going to be one masterpiece of a vessel..." sensei, as he is called by the guy on the computer, was talking to no one in particular
"Maybe, I should get some rest..." he said before proceeding to do exactly that
A few hours later...
AFO was suddenly woken up from feeling something familiar and nostagic, something that while he already has felt before, but this one was more powerful than the previous ones. This feeling made him jolly and giddy
"Yoichi...one day...I swear to bring you back...from the bastards, who stole you away from me!" he finished with his hands tightening into fists
"Woah!" is all Izuku could say when set his sight upon the site that his mentor brought him to, after travelling for quite a while, well into a forested area
"Pretty huge, right?" said Allmight getting off his truck
What stood in front of them was what seemed to be an open field, large concrete and metal walls surrounding it, stretching on for at least a few kilometers on each side. A large automatic steel gate right in the middle. A small booth was also there, containing a screen and keyboard hung the wall of the booth, for what seems to be a way to access the grounds or at least talk to anyone from the inside or to the outside. But the most noticeable thing about this all are the large letters that anyone in their world, who hasn't been living under a rock could recognize easily
"Is this a UA property?!"
"Yep! This is a place that they use to test quirks out, usually for the students but also for people whose can be considered either dangerous or extremely powerful"
"Is that so...which means I going to practice here, huh..."
"Yes kid...now, let's get going, we don't want them to be waiting any longer, you know!"
"Huh? Right! I forgot, lets go!"
Following that conversation, the two entered the facility after accessing it via the booth nearby. The place looked as big as anyone could guess. It was an open cemented field with various equipments, machinery, vehicles to go around the place and walled off areas scattered in a planned formation, as a way for quirk testing can be done more easily and with safety.
By the entrance stood a few interesting individuals, these being a short old lady in a nurse outfit that had extra additions that seemed to suggest that she was a hero, short old man in who no doubt is a hero, a man of average height, wearing a scarf around him and finally a mouse...dog...bear person?
"I brought him!" Allmight said to them
"Well, well, well...another OFA user, another pain in the ass...I swear to god Toshinori, you should start learning as to how to be a good teacher, you know..." said the short old man
"Sensei, please don't say like that, I'll try my best to be a good teacher, but this time...I made a promise that I would make sure to bring this kid in good condition or at least not make him go through unnecessary harm! Which is why I asked you all..." Allmight replied back followed by a bow
The short old man sighed before saying, "Yeah, yeah I know, you already said...I was just ranting like the old man that I am..."
Izuku saw their interaction with a curious expression, especially the short man, probably because of his quirk, which he didn't know about or couldn't figure out due to not knowing who this hero is, despite his tendency to write a lot of hero related notes, which has accumulated into an entire collection
"Let's get this over with already, I got to get some sleep" said the man with the scarf, who Izuku tried remembering but failed
"Hmm...Aizawa-kun, let's not be too impatient, I mean I know you work really late at night, but you are also teacher, you know...I mean you could think this as a form of hero work either, considering that we are trying to avoid any dangers for young man and make him into someone who can help people out one day!" The chimera(to avoid saying mouse-bear-dog again and again), who Izuku recognized as UA's principal Nezu, who is also one of the rare cases where an animal other than a human gained a quirk, his being intelligence even beyond some genius humans that existed before
"Yes, but let me check him out before letting him use OFA" said the nurse
Izuku, when he saw her immediately recognized her as Recovery girl, the youthful heroine
Izuku wanted to ask a lot of questions to all of them, but held himself together, thinking to not give them even more headache than they already have
After checking up the young boy, he was to the open field
"Let us start by how to first and foremost activate it..." said Allmight, which is when the short man, now know to be as Gran torino, came up
"So let's start...so first off, clench yer butt and try to feel like you wanna beat someone or something really badly, also try to dial down the strength either, cause you probably are going to be in some absolute pain, just saying...lastly don't actually try to punch or release the power, just hold it back, okay?!"
"Yes sir!"
"Now do it!"
Izuku went a bit further from them, while also facing away
I gotta activate the quirk and power it down, huh? I probabaly could do the first one, while the second... thought the green-haired boy
"Kid, if you have a problem understanding how to power down, just visualize it through your imagination, it doesn't matter what it is, so long as it works!" Gran torino said
Visualization, huh... Izuku thought and for a minute kept on thinking before coming to an idea that he wanted to see whether it works by testing it out
At first, he did what Gran torino said about how to activate OFA, which did do the job when red lines with sparks in them appeared around his arm, which also caused him to feel immense pain and wanted to shake and scream, but he didn't still let go as he fought back the pain, while trying the next step - powering it down for which the metaphor he went with is a rocket engine with a dial that goes from 0 to 100
And so, he was finally able to bring the strength to around 5%, which didn't hurt nowhere as close to how it was before, but it was still rather painful
Well that was pretty painful, but at least I can use it more properly, even if it's far weaker he thought, while proceeding to charge up his left arm, following the same process as before, but this time without the pain due to it being weaker actually...my right arm feels even less painful than it was before, so that should mean that the burden was evened out because of more parts being covered...wait what if I covered the entire body, instead...
"Young Midoriya! You seem to have done it, if I am seeing right?!" shouted Allmight upon seeing the red lines appear in both of his arms
"Ahh! Wait a sec, let me do something first, I'll fully explain everything after that" Izuku replied back, which caused his mentor to go back to silently watching again
Hmm...I should cover every part of my body, which would lessen the pain more...kinda like a taiyaki being microwaved... Izuku thought with a beautiful visualization at the end there
Izuku proceeds to visualize himself as that taiyaki being microwaved(pfft!), spreading OFA to all over his body. This caused all red lines that were there on his body to disappear within a few seconds to be replaced by his body lighting up a bit and the discharge of what seems to be some kind of green electricity like aura around him
The others were watching him with a hard, yet impressed look when he was able to control it better after watching his body emitting that aura
Izuku felt even less pain by spreading it across, which made him to try to increase his output.
Now imagine the dial going up to as much as I can while he thought this, his power was slowly going upwards until 30%!
Allmight seeing him shaking a lot started getting concerned and called out, "Young Midoriya! Are you okay?! You don't need go to far for now you know?! It's fine, we can improve on your body slowly, okay?!"
"WAIT, WAIT, WAIT!! I GOT THIS, I GOT THIS! JUST, WAIT A SECOND!!"
After hearing that from his successor, Allmight proceeded to quiet down, but still held on his worry
When Izuku reached the maximum amount his body can handle, his body started shaking pretty bad, with the pain increasing once more This is the most I can do right now, if want to move and even then, it's painful! he thought before powering down to an amount he can handle Hmm...around 20% should be something I can handle without having that much trouble...I mean I do feel somewhat pain, but I'll eventually get used to it After which started walking back to the group, while still having OFA activated
Allmight upon seeing his protégé come back while still having his quirk active, still felt worried, yet also smiles in pride about his accomplishment
"Young Midoriya, you did it! You were able to control it way faster than I thought! I'm proud of you!" Allmight gave him a thumbs up, while smiling like a proud father
"What are you talking about Allmight...I was only able to bring out a fraction of it's full power...I thought you should be disappointed than anything, right now..." said Izuku, while lowering down his head in disappointment over himself
Allmight seeing this, clapped his hands a few times to bring his attention back to him and said, "Young Midoriya, I don't feel anything like that, at all! The reason I learnt it far more easily and faster than any other user, is due to my body naturally being really tough by itself, basically it doesn't mean everyone is gonna be able use it perfectly on their first try, even if they trained their body before and that's also not including the fact that OFA gets stronger, the more it's used, which means it should be more stronger than it was when I received!" Izuku looks up with a lifted mood, while Allmight continued, "So, just...try to be more proud okay...it's fine know where you can stop... so long as it keeps you from unnecessary harm, you know...so, yes...I am proud of you, kid..."
Izuku started tear up and cry at hearing this, feeling like he accomplished something for the first time in his
Seeing his protégé's broken down state, Allmight proceeded to hug while patting his back with one hand, which caused Izuku to bury his face into the man chest, crying deeply into it
This went on for a few minutes as the adults, especially Allmight, let him vent out any stress and fustration he has been feeling until now
When Izuku stopped crying, he started to speak again, "I'm sorry...I should've held myself there..." finishing it in a sheepish voice, retracting back from the hug to straight himself up
"That's fine young Midoriya, I don't mind that!" The symbol of peace said trying to reassure him, before continuing again, "Now! Can you describe and explain how you felt and about what you were doing?"
"Ah! Sure!" said Izuku before continuing, "So, I did as Gran torino told me to, that is, after activating it through what he said, I visualized a rocket engine with a dial that goes from 0 to 100, attached to it, as a way to change its power, basically"
"I see..." replied Allmight, "that is a pretty good way to visualize it!"
"Hmm! And then after powering it down, I thought of powering up my other arm, which evened out the pain and strain I was feeling..." the teen replied, before taking in a huge breath dramatically and continuing, "...and that is how I realized that I should spread it out across my entire body, instead! Which allowed me to be able to use it at 20%, without that much of a trouble, and I can even go 30%, if I power up that much, only at the last second when attacking..." he released his breath saying that, before finishing with, "I felt like a taiyaki in a microwave being cooked evenly!"
"Huh?" The adults deadpanned in confusion together
"Wha-what? Is something wrong?" Did I say something stupid?
"Kid...are you okay? Did firing up OFA fry your brain or something?" said Gran torino in the same deadpanned tone he did before
"W-what do you mean?" he still didn't understand
"It's jus-you know what? Screw it! Let's just get on with the practice again!" said Gran torino, knowing it's not the time to be ranting about small stuff like that
"Wha..." Izuku really wanted know what's wrong, but didn't try to push it and continued with a sigh, "...okay fine...let's go..."
After that exchange, Allmight went into his buff form to be Izuku's test dummy, considering he is the only one who can take a punch from him
"Okay now, young Midoriya! You can start attacking me!" Allmight said while waving both his hands
"Ahh...sure!" said Izuku as he prepared OFA again, this time activating it, in its powered down state as the red lines appeared and got replaced by the aura once again
"Ready?!"
"YEAH!" Izuku said before he pushed himself off the ground by his feet, incredibly fast
"WOAH! WOAH! WOOAAAH!!! TOO FAST!! TOO FAST!!" he uttered in panic as he pushed forth towards Allmight at a breakneck speed
Allmight seeing this, moved forward while bracing himself for the impact, trying to catch the young man
"AAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!" All Izuku was able to do right now, was scream
The boy was caught by his mentor, who had know problem doing so. The impact caused a dust cloud to be whipped up, blocking the others' line of sight of the pair
"haah...hah...hah... sorry Allmight...I should'vefigured out that, it would be that strong...sorry!" he said as breathed heavily, while getting off his idol
"It's fine, kid! Everyone makes mistakes, so don't go beat yourself up over it! So, let's redo it again, so that you can improve and get used to it, okay?" Allmight assured the teen, which caused him to be thankful for not being angry, before putting on a strong face again to retry it
The training went on unitl evening, with taking breaks a few times
Izuku was able to get a good enough grip on his quirk by then, being nearly exhausted from it, having to calm it a day...but not before taking a video of himself activating and using OFA, as way to show his mom that he finally did it
"Well that's it, kid! That should be enough for today!" said Allmight now in his small form
"Haaaah...I am tired..." Izuku said relieved tone
"Well Midoriya-kun, you should get going now, you're mother would waiting for you, in concern" said Nezu, while stroking his fur
"Mmph...I should..." he said before starting going off on a tangent, "HolymolyshitnowIhavethequirkofmydreamdamnIfeelsoblessedrightnow..."
The four adults looked at him with no expression before Nezu asked
"Is he like this, all the time?"
"Haha...yeah..." Allmight replied as they all watched him go on his rambling
This went on some more seconds before Allmight clapped his hands to stop his successor's rambling, "Alright kid, time to go now!" which stopped him instantly after he shook a bit, before showing a sheepish smile with his hand behind his head
"Yeah sorry..." he said
"Hmm...now let's get going" Allmight finished before turning with the others towards the entrance
"Hmm" Izuku nodded before starting to follow them, but stopped for a second to try to activate OFA again, but only just 1%, just to feel it, "Ah...this feels good.." he says, while feeling happy using a quirk for the first time in his life
"Young Midoriya, you should rest up, you know! Using it again will tire you even more!" Allmight shouted towards Izuku, due to being rather far away from him
"Ahh! Coming!" he said nearly starting to walk back and deactivate his quirk, only to stop when he notices something dark and misty slowly move around some machines that were there...his quirk still active...so he ran pretty fast towards to the adults to ask about it
"Everyone!"
"Hmm?" They all collectively responded
"Haah...hah..I just wanna ask...is there anybody else in here, other than just us?" Izuku said after reaching here and breathing heavily
"No, I am pretty sure there shouldn't be anyone here, for the sake of keeping the secret, well a secret..." responded Aizawa, before asking, "Why, did you see someone just now?"
"Uhh...yeah, over there" Izuku replied back while pointing towards the place he saw that "person", "I saw a dark and misty figure move around that place...couldn't exactly see how they looked like, though"
Aizawa turned to look at the place he was pointing towards with a serious look, meanwhile rest of them had an expression that seemed like they just realized something they forgot about
"Huh, there is nothing there, kid...maybe I should go see for myself, I guess..."
"Wait, there is no need for that!" Nezu spoke up again, while having an expression that seems to suggest of being ashamed of something, "Instead, let's go to monitoring room, ok?"
"Wait why?" Izuku asked him
"We'll get answer, when we get there...So, let's go!" he said as started walking towards the monitoring room
Aizawa and Izuku were left confused, but didn't try to argue about it and just went with him
The rest of the three also felt dumb about forgetting something so important, but also followed the principal, along with Aizawa and Izuku
When they reached the monitoring room, Nezu went through the desktop that shows the surveillance of the area Izuku was talking about
"Hmm...I don't see anything...maybe I should rewind it and see..." Nezu said before proceeding to do that
It didn't take that long for him to find the figure
"Hah! Found it! Is this it Midoriya-kun?" he said
"Aaah...yeah! That it! That the person!" Izuku replied instantly seeing what seems to be a man that has an axe jutting out of his half-split and bloody head, while rest of his body seemed to be malnourished and disturbingly long, "Wait! How is he moving around like that, in the state he is?!!"
"What are you two talking about? I can't see anything there..." Aizawa intervened
"Of course you can't! This is something only very few humans can see, such as ones like the OFA users, even the former ones like Allmight, can see them" Nezu informed them
"'Them?! You mean there is more of people like this man?! Actually! Can you at least explain, what happened to him?!" Izuku exclaimed in fustrated confusion
"Yes, I agree with the kid, even though I don't see anything myself..." Aizawa said
This caused Nezu to look back towards the other three, who had anticipated looks on their faces and nodded towards Nezu, which Nezu responded with a nod from himself, after which he turned to answer
"You see...what Midoriya-kun is seeing right now, is a ghost from the looks of it..."
This caused both of them to show a rather deadpanned expression
"Haha...really funny..." Aizawa replied, wanting to just run away from here
"Are you sure about this...I mean is this really true..." Izuku wasn't sure what to say exactly...in one way his skepticism made him not convinced about it, but on the other hand...he can't deny whatever that's happening here...especially considering why would any of them lie to him out of nowhere like this, anyway!
"Young Midoriya, you got to believe it...we saying this for your own good, you know...I mean to be honest, most of these things can't actually harm you physically, unless we are talking about them eating a person's life aura that is..." Allmight spoke after not doing for sometime
"huh?" Izuku was again confused
"Life aura is something that exists for everyone, including other animals. While I can't exactly say as to what it is or a lot of other stuff about it, but I do know some other stuff about it, such as how depending on the power of the aura, it can burn the spirits...hell! not just spirits, but other stuff like yokai, essentially" Allmight explained
"Yokai too...wait you said they can eat the life aura right, but if they burn u-"
"Like I said, if it is only strong enough! By the way, these spirits and yokai also come in varying levels of power! To put it simply, in an aura vs spirit/yokai battle, all it depends on is both of their power level, essentially" Allmight finished
"I see..." Izuku replied, while still frustrated with what's happening, "wait, why does OFA let people be able to do that, and why can principal also can see them?"
"In principal's case, well a lot of the other animals like dogs for example can seem to see them either...the principal probably was from one of these animals that had the ability to them...although due to several reasons, we are not sure what animal he actually is..." he explained, breathed in again to continue, "As for One for all, well...all I cam say is that OFA is drenched in a bloody history filled with a lot death around it, especially regarding the users, who seemed to have died and be able to communicate somewhat in OFA"
"Huh..." Izuku was overwhelmed and disturbed of what kind of bloody history OFA has, but then remembered about the last part, "Wait, what do you mean by the past users communicating?!"
"Hmm? Yes...but it is probably just the trace memories they left though"
"Ehh..." Izuku was starting to get a headache
"You know, we should just get back, it's getting pretty late"
"Yeah...let's go..."
As they prepared to leave, Allmight stopped Izuku one more time
"Young Midoriya, don't try to acknowledge there existence unless it is needed, okay?"
"Okay, but is there a way to fight them?"
"Well, with OFA, you are cable of interacting with those things, just like it can see them, and then there is the fact that the your aura is pretty strong even with OFA deactivated..."
"Huh, could you explain that last bit fully?"
"Having OFA makes your aura become stronger than it was before, even when not actually using the quirk, but if you do activate it, the aura becomes even more stronger, essentially"
"I think I got everything..."
"Is that so? Great, let's head back, your mother's probably really worried about"
"Ah! You are right! Let's go!"
And just like that, Allmight, along with Izuku and Gran torino, had gone
"Aizawa-kun?" Nezu spoke up
"Hmm?"
"You know why I chose to tell you about OFA right?"
"I know, I know...just in case something goes wrong, my quirk would be handy, I know that..."
"Hmm...great to know!"
"Although...I am still confused with the whole ghost thing...it's giving me headache, right now"
"Hehe! You can't do anything about it, it's the truth, deal with it!"
"Haaah...I just hope that boy doesn't get any negative habits from Allmight" sighed Recovery girl
Izuku, while being driven home, used OFA here and there to see whether he catch more of these ghosts, which does succeed in
The ride home was silent for the most part, with the only exceptions being the occasional chatter
After Allmight dropped back at his home, Izuku went to the washroom to clean himself, first. Which was seemed pretty relaxing
"Haaah...I am so tired...all that training caused me to go sore...I feel pretty lethargic..." he mumbled
After taking a bath and changing into his Pajamas, Izuku went to have dinner, which was pretty peaceful tok
"I was pretty hungry, you know?!" he said loudly in a satisfied tone, while eating a lot
"Sure, sure, but don't eat so fast, you might end up having a hard time breathing" said Inko in concern
"Sorry" he said before eating in a slower pace
It was late at night when the Midoriyas finally thought about sleeping...
"Hmm...tomorrow too there is going to training, not including the fact that there's also school tomorrow..." he spoke to himself, staring at the ceiling, "I should just get some sleep..." he sighed before letting sleep get to him
When Izuku woke up, instead of being in his bedroom like usual, he was met with a barren landscape surrounded by a darkness that seems to flow from one side to the other, in extreme speeds. All while being covered in some kind of dark fog that made it hard to move or talk
what is this place he thought before his attention was caught by the sight of six individuals to his side, two of them being too dark to be seen, with one other looking like a flame taking the form of a human he looks like Allmight...wait, are these-
Before he could finish that thought, he was once again distracted by the appearance of two individuals, one was a weak looking white haired man, probably in his mid 20s, while the other was a giant of a man, who too had white hair, probably in his early to mid 30s
"My weak and pathetic brother..." said the older man
What followed was a story about two brothers, one wanting to rule the world along side his younger, while the other despising his actions and wanting to put an end to his atrocities, but couldn't due to his fragile body
In the end, the older brother, tired of sibling's resistance, thought of making him submit to him via giving him a quirk for his own, through his own quirk, All For One(which Izuku hasn't actually learnt of, yet), the ability to take and give quirks
"You are the ninth, right?" The scene changed to a white void, with the same young man walking towards Izuku, talking in a soft voice, "Don't worry, you are not alone"
The sound of glass shattering was heard through out the apartments and the streets, from the home of the Midoriyas...where Midoriya Izuku was woken up to an odd situation...
