Chapter 27
Re-adjusting
It took a couple of weeks of life in bed all the time to become the new normal for Ginny. Stella was with her for the largest part of each day, helping her with her personal needs, like bathing. Her regular healer used magic; therefore he was no use to her now. Stella was able to give Lucius the name of a Muggle doctor whose son was a wizard. He could oversee Ginny's pregnancy, if needed.
Lucius was not happy with the Muggles, Stella and Dr Stevenson, being in his home, or his bedroom no less! But something about what Ginny was willing to do for his child made him willing to do it, and not show Ginny how he felt about it, even deep down. Really, tolerating a Muggle or two when Ginny was doing what she was doing was small by comparison.
The Muggle medical doctor had an IV put in Ginny's arm so she didn't have to be stabbed for each needle of pain relief. The man did an ultrasound on Ginny and was able to tell her exactly how far along she was and that the baby looked perfect. The news only reinforced Ginny's resolve to have the baby, no matter the cost to herself. The first few weeks were easy because Ginny slept a lot due to the pain medication. As the amount of drugs needed to control her pain lessened, she was awake for longer periods and thus able to spend some time on her school work.
She looked forward to Oliver Wood's visits. He always had a story to tell, often about the first year students, that could make her laugh. He would always ask how she was doing, and it warmed her heart.
Oliver would hate to admit it, but he disliked his visits to Malfoy Manor. To see a girl in this situation that he never knew personally; just from stories her brothers shared, was difficult. Charlie, mostly. had told him of times like when Ginny would sneak into the broom shack at home to teach herself to fly! When Charlie was captain of the house Quidditch team, even told them after a bad loss that his baby sister, who was only seven at the time, could fly better than them!
Now to see this lovely young woman cooped up in the bedroom of a man old enough to be her father made him sick. He, too, thought some of the same things may of her classmates had said. But to see her in that man's bed each week was horrible. The only time he was alone with her was if she was doing a test. Otherwise, the nurse Stella was almost always there, or a house elf.
Draco was often a regular visitor for Ginny. He felt bad for her. He knew, due to the few people at Hogwarts that still spoke to him, that that Looney Lovegood girl was nowhere near ready to reenter Malfoy Manor after being kept there during the war. As for her other good friend, Hermione Granger, he was thankful she didn't want to come to his family home. Draco did realize that Ginny needed some contact with other girls.
"I had an idea Ginny," he offered one day while bothering her.
"What's that, Draco?" Ginny asked. Some days his visits were... nice. Other days she wanted to mash his face in with a beater's bat. Today was someplace in between.
"You should have a girl you can chat with here once in a while."
"Luna's busy with school," Ginny explained.
"Luna probably isn't comfortable with the idea of being in this house," Draco corrected. "I don't know why; she was never harmed while here, just kept in the dungeons."
"Never harmed? Maybe by you or Lucius, or even your mother, but what about your other house guests? The other Death Eaters? Or Tom himself? Pettigrew, or your aunt? Or even just the fear that each time someone came down the stairs she might be harmed?"
Draco could only shrug. "Do you remember Pansy?"
"Parkinson? She wanted to hand Harry over to Voldemort," Ginny pointed out.
"Yes, that would be her."
"I don't like her."
"Because she was in Slytherin?"
Ginny bit the inside of her cheek as she thought about it.
"Ginny, she was holding to the teachings she had been raised with. Just as all of us did."
"I guess, but still she..."
"Look at it this way," Draco rose and started to pace the room, "If it had been the other way around and Potter had been demanding that I be turned over and threatening to kill all of you if you didn't hand me over, would you not have been willing to hand me over?"
"Then yes." She looked like she felt bad for thinking it.
"So she was raised her whole life being told Mudbloods and half bloods were bad and because of them we would all suffer, and that Lord Voldemort was a saviour for our way of life, and every friend she was raised with was taught the same thing because their parents were taught that. Muggles fear us (proof of that is the witch hunts), and wizards and witches killed because of something they had no control over. Mudbloods were the worst because there wasn't a way to hide their magic from Muggles, and those mudblood's parents even handed witches over who tried to help them hide their child's magic. The same lessons you learned in school with a ... darker point of view put on it."
"I never thought about it that way," Ginny admitted as she rolled her neck around trying to loosen it up a bit.
"Just as we never question how we were told it. The point is; she knows you're trapped in here and is willing to come and see you and spend some girl time with you. She might not be book smart like that, that..."
"Don't call her that, she has a name."
"Each time I use her name it feels like someone shit in my mouth," he confessed.
The look on Ginny's face told Draco she finally got it. "You can't stand that she is smarter than you!"
He gave Ginny a knowing look. "Pansy is nice once you get to know her. Her father wasn't the nicest of people, so she wears a cold exterior to protect herself."
"Are you dating her?" Ginny asked.
"Merlin, no! That would be like you dating Ron. Mother was her godmother, so after Pansy's mum died and her father remarried, Mother felt bad for Pansy and let her spend most of her time here. She's like a sister." He paused and got a cocky look on his face. "Why, are you jealous?"
Ginny said, "No, just..." She then started to tear up. "I just wish I had some say in my own life!"
Draco was now officially uncomfortable.
"Draco, would you mind leaving me alone with my wife?" Lucius came to the rescue.
Draco nodded and gratefully made a quick exit.
Lucius came over to the bed and handed Ginny his handkerchief. "You do have the final word in your life."
This just made Ginny cry harder.
Lucius carefully sat on the edge of the bed. "I have told you that I would support you if you chose to allow yourself to miscarry."
Ginny shook her head hard. "I can't," she sobbed.
"Why? For a family who have not spoken to you in almost seven months? Do they care how you are doing? Do you really think word of your condition has not reached them?" Lucius was mad. He could not understand why the Weasleys had turned so cold towards Ginevra.
"Once the baby is born, it will change," she vowed with a sob. "In their mind, us marrying hasn't changed anything."
He couldn't believe how much she believed in her family after all this time of not hearing from them. Lucius had spent the last few weeks doing his best to not fight with Ginny. His goal had been to have her happy and in good spirits. She was now at the start of her second trimester. Her baby bump was starting to show. If this was a normal pregnancy, she would be feeling better than she had before and would have more energy. However, the hormones were kicking in now and he guessed that she was also suffering from cabin fever.
"You're committed to having this child and that's fine, but as I told you at the start I will support whatever choice you make. Draco was right however; I think you need some time with people, girls your own age." He paused, "Ginevra, I really don't even know who you were close to," Lucius admitted.
"Luna and Neville were my closest friends."
Lucius was relieved that her closest friends were both Pure bloods. "Perhaps Luna could come by?"
"Draco and I just went through this! I can't ask her here; she's not ready for that after being in the dungeons."
"Maybe a younger nurse?"
"No, I- I like Stella." She paused, "Draco suggested Pansy. It couldn't hurt to get to know her." Ginny hated the idea that Stella might be replaced and was willing to try with Pansy to keep Stella.
Lucius smiled. "Pansy? She's not the same type of girl as you." It was one of those odd moments for Lucius; he could never think of Pansy as anything more than a child, and he was now married to a woman younger than Pansy!
That night, Lucius was woken up by the sound of Ginny dreaming about sex. The sounds coming from his wife could not ever be mistaken for anything else. The moans and mewing, and even panting, were obscenely erotic. She would even purr his name. It was an ego boost. However, it left him with a growing issue. While the needs of the bond were satisfied with the baby growing in her belly, Lucius' manly needs were not. He felt as if there was a large rock in his boxers. All he wanted to do was take hold of Ginny and spend hours ravaging her, but he knew that was unthinkable in her condition. He resigned himself to get out of bed and deal with his issue. As he shifted the covers Lucius was hit with the sweet smell of his wife's clearly wet pussy. He groaned with desire.
"Mmm Lucius!" Ginny murmured in her sleep.
Hearing he was the cause of such arousal from her caused precum to leak out of the mushroom head of his cock. He slipped into the bathroom, where he glanced at himself in the mirror. He certainly didn't look like the schoolboy he had been made to feel like these last couple of weeks. He placed a muffling charm on the bathroom to not disturb Ginny. She may as well enjoy her dream. He turned on the hot shower and removed his boxers.
The next morning, Ginny was in a good mood. Lucius had been taking breakfast with her each day. "Draco informs me Pansy is coming today," he stated.
"Yes. He told me last night, but I'm still not sure what she and I will have in common."
"You were both raised mostly with boys. Pansy's main playmates were Draco, Greg, Vincent, Blaise, and Theodore," Lucius offered.
"I guess it's a start," she replied, taking a bite of toast.
Hours later, Pansy and Ginny were getting along like old friends. "I'm jealous of Draco," Pansy admitted.
"Why?" Ginny asked.
"He always had it all; a father who adored him, a mother, and now a sibling."
"That he'll be more like an uncle to than a brother," Ginny reminded.
"I guess. So what have you picked for the nursery?" Pansy excitedly asked.
"Nursery? I haven't even thought about a nursery!"
Pansy got a sparkle in her eye. "Well then, I guess that means we get to spend some of the Malfoy money!" The glee in her voice was clear. "Have you found out if the baby is a boy or a girl yet?"
"No Pansy, that requires magic," Ginny pointed out.
"Right. Sorry, I forgot." She looked around the room. "You know Ginny, you have been in here for what, over half a year? And while I see your books from school and the medical stuff, I don't see anything that says you live in this room."
"I don't. Lucius insisted I stay in his room for the rest of the pregnancy. I'm only here when I have to be."
"Well, you're going to be here for at least another six months. We could inject a little more you."
"How? I can't have magic done around me."
"Trust Pansy. I will come up with something," she assured her new friend.
A/N I know it has been a long time since I posted. But life becomes busier as my children grow older. Things in the way of life change, the past couple years have seen me stop being a stay at home mother and return part time to the work force. As it is part time most of the hours I once wrote in have been spent working. However I am once more changing and my working hours will adjust again, along with my littlest going to school full time in the fall, so I will have more time on my own to write. Please encourage me to write with reviews, you have no idea how powerful a few encouraging can be.
