Molly, being a mother herself, had an idea of how Ginny would be feeling about being unable to see the baby even for just a small amount of time, so she put together a baby package for Ginny. When she arrived in Ginny's room, she had the small package. "How are you feeling, dear?" Molly asked.

The young woman looked depressed as she thought of how to answer her mothers question. "The bone regrowth hurts."

Molly smiled. Her daughter, in the few months she lived with her husband, had been learning a new skill; protecting her feelings. However, Molly had never been viewed as anything less than pushy when it came to her children. "I can image how you must be feeling, so I have a few things for you." She reached into the bag she had and pulled out a photograph. "Here is what your daughter looks like," she said and passed it to Ginny. She watched Ginny's reactions to seeing her child for the first time; so many things from joy and amazement to peace and sadness. Ginny looked at the picture for at least ten minutes. Then Molly pulled out a blanket. "She was covered with this earlier, but I took it before the house elf could take it for washing. It has the baby's scent," Molly explained.

Ginny took the blanket from her mother. This blanket had been on my daughter, touching her skin! Ginny thought to herself. She took a long deep breath, inhaling the smell of her child. There was no scent of baby powder or anything, just pure new baby. The smell wasn't something Ginny could put into words, but she also knew this was a smell she would never forget. It broke her, and she started to cry.

Molly sat next to Ginny's bedside and held her hand for a long time. "Love, it's alright, you will see her soon," Molly assured her daughter.

Ginny nodded and continued to sob for a long time.

When Molly figured Ginny had had enough crying, she started talking about other things to distract Ginny. "You know, when you married Lucius, we never really talked about what would happen. I am sorry." Molly didn't want Ginny to focus too much on anything for too long, so she continued talking. "Minerva told me just a few days back that you had to ask her questions about the bond. I am sorry I wasn't the one to explain that to you. She confided in me that she thought you and Lucius were a good match no matter what we thought. How has he been with you?" Molly already knew the answer. She saw it when Lucius waited for the days to pass before the removal could be done; how he reacted if those machines made the smallest unexpected noise. She knew Lucius loved her daughter, and she wondered if Ginny had grown to love him as well. She was however sad that she had missed watching Ginny's expectancy and Lucius falling for her. She was trying to give Ginny something else to focus on.

"He's stubborn, and his ego needs its own room," Ginny said, smiling. "But he has been understanding and quite good, really."

"And did he push you to get pregnant so quickly?" Again Molly knew the answer, having heard it in court.

"No, it was unexpected. We were going to wait a bit."

Now that it was clear Ginevra was going to be alright, Lucius didn't feel the need to remain at her bedside constantly. He had a new baby that took some of his time, and he needed to give some attention to his business. His wife had her mother back in her life, and as the lack of family had clearly affected her before, Lucius wanted to allow them time to rebuild their damaged relationship. He was concerned with how her family coming back into her life might change things for the two of them.

But right now, this moment was for Lucius and Ginevra. Her bones had all grown back and she could go and meet her daughter for the first time! The second her healer announced that her bones were finished, Ginny was scrambling out of her bed and heading for the door. It gave Lucius reason to smile.

He was right there with her as they entered the nursery. "Remember, for the next few weeks we must be very careful of her skin," he gently cautioned. He watched her face as she got close enough to see the baby. He knew he had never seen so much anticipation in anyone's face as Ginevra had now.

When she was finally close enough to reach out and touch her baby, she stopped herself. She didn't want to hurt her child, so to keep from reaching out and touching the baby girl, Ginny put her hands on the sides of the bassinet. As she looked down at her child, the child she had literally put her life on hold for, she was blown away by both her own feelings for her baby and by the baby's small size. She didn't know what to say to her child; she just stared at her.

Finally, the nurse broke the silence. "Ginny, do you want to hold her?"

Ginny, in this moment, didn't trust her own voice, so she only nodded. The nurse led Ginny over to sit in the rocking chair.

"Skin to skin contact is recommended, so while I get her, if you want to open your top a bit more I can place her on your chest."

When the baby was placed on Ginny, she knew she was home and let out a soft sigh. Her eyes met the baby's eyes and Ginny released a sob of joy.

Lucius watched and it was so clear to him that his daughter knew Ginevra was her mother.

Finally, Ginevra said, "She's beautiful."

"Just like her mother," Lucius replied. "This is the most beautiful moment I have ever seen," he admitted.

"You don't have to say that! I'm sure Narcissa with Draco was more..."

"No Ginevra, she wasn't," he interrupted with disappointment in his voice.

"Lucius, it's sweet of you to say, but I know you loved her, whereas you're stuck with me."

It was at that moment Lucius realized his error, his goal of making Ginevra love him. Instead, he should have made it his goal to let her know he had fallen in love with her. "Not stuck. I am blessed to have you. Ginevra, I fell in love with you that day in my office when you told me that you didn't know if you wanted to put the effort into dealing with me. But I didn't realize it until that day you came to my study wearing your Gryffindor jersey."

"What?"

"I realize that you don't, can't, possible feel the same, but-"

"Lucius, shut up and kiss me!" Ginny demanded.

He was taken aback by this, however he willingly leaned in and kissed his wife. When they broke apart, Ginny asked, "Are you sure?"

He reached down and carefully touched both his daughter and the spot over his wife's chest and said, "This curse from the past is the best thing to have ever happened to me."

For a second, Ginny questioned this, but then she thought back and she did see it; Lucius did love her! The fact that he allowed her to be put on Muggle medicine and machines, allowed a Muggle nurse into his bedroom, and the fact that he slept each night with his hand on her stomach proved it! She smiled through the tears in her eyes and whispered, "I love you too."

The baby let out a little cry, reminding them she was there. Lucius and Ginny smiled at each other, then down at her. "You need a name, don't you?" Ginny whispered to her daughter.

"Grace Patricia Malfoy, would you stop trying to eat your aunt's wedding gown!" Ginny scolded as she pulled her eight month old away from Pansy.

In the eight months that had passed, so much had happened; Grace had grown, Ginny and her family continued to work on repairing the damage done to their relationships, and Ginny and Lucius were able to finally get to know each other as people now that they were truly confident in their marriage.

Unknown to them, today would be a great day for both the Weasley and Malfoy families. Charlie and Pansy were getting married, and once they left for their honeymoon, Bill and Fleur would tell the world they were 6 months along in Fleur's pregnancy, thereby proving to anyone who had any doubts that the curse was now lifted.

A/N I finally finished this story. It did take me far far far too long. I want to thank each one of you who has returned time and time again to see this story to the end.

I want to say a few words about reviews, those of you who don't write don't understand the power of a review. These fan fiction stories are written by people who make no money from their work. They give up their personal time to write. Feed back is so very important. It lets the writer know what the reader is enjoying. True be known I would not have finished this story if not for my daughter who recently ( about a year back ) started reading my work. Think about the fact I heard on a regular base how she liked the stories and wanted to know how they end. And me telling her the ending was not enough she wanted to read it. One year, It took one year before I sat down to finish one. Every time you leave a review it makes your writer want to do more, and a amazing review is even better.

Many people write "Great chapter.", yes that's a review but when you leave a review that say "I was shocked/ thrilled/ sadden, to see this happen." means so much more. And If you want to leave a bad review. a flame, have the class to have logged into your account so the writer can reply to your review, other wise you are seen as a troll.
