[Six months since Lunar Tower Negotiations]
Lunar approached quietly as Serenity was looking frustratingly at fabric samples.
"This is not my thing," Serenity confessed with a deep breath and Lunar smirked a bit and picked one fabric out of the many that were spread across their normal war table.
"Use this one. It will look lovely," Serenity smiled at her thankfully. "Well, at least no one can say all you do is plan parties."
"No, they cannot. I wish I could be perfect at it all though. Making treaties, throwing grand parties…" She smirked and Lunar grinned.
"As much as I love planning your parties I am actually here to tell you that you have an incoming call from Earth," she smirked and Serenity glanced at her and her eyes lit up with amusement. He must have received it…
"Oh no…" She giggled and Lunar smiled.
"He does seem displeased…" She breathed but Serenity was already on her way out of the room with an excited step.
She sat gracefully before her personal screen in her quarters than pressed the accept button. His face materialized before her and the scowl upon his forehead made the smile on her face broaden even more.
"Oh you look unhappy," she said with slight amusement and he frowned at her.
"How observant of you," he spat and she giggled. "You are lucky I am not there," he growled and she smiled teasingly at him.
"Am I?" She inquired playfully and he smirked a bit than held up a letter for her view.
"What is this Peace Gala and why on Earth is it four days long?" He demanded and her eyes lit up.
"It's my first real event for my Peace Committee. Are you not excited?" She asked and he frowned again.
"No. You do know I have an entire planet to run down here," he snapped and she smiled at him and his frown couldn't hold up against her. "Stop smiling at me like that," he chastised and she looked at him surprised.
"What?" She teased.
"You look like you miss me and it makes you look terribly pathetic," he teased with a small smirk and she let out a breath. It had been over three weeks since she had seen him last on Earth but to say such brazen things… she could play along.
"Perhaps I am," she mused and he set the letter down.
"How are you?" He asked and she smiled brightly again than let out a breath.
"I am up to my neck in fabric samples and menu plans and the event is two months away…" She groaned and he chuckled.
"You cannot be perfect at everything Seren," he mumbled and she smiled coyly.
"You know me so," she hissed quietly and he smirked.
"Indeed I do. Is it super important that I come to this?" He questioned and she looked offended.
"You come to Jupiter's brother-in-law's bachelor party yet not to my crowning Peace achievement of which you are the main attraction?" She hissed and he smirked.
"First… that party had perks," he grinned and Serenity shifted in her chair. "Second, you just referred to me as a main attraction. I am not a pet my love," he chastised and Serenity laced her fingers together.
"No, you are an example of true leadership, grace and peace. Without you my committee wouldn't even exist. You were the inspiration for it," she said honestly and he let out a breath.
"You need me to hold your hand don't you?" He questioned and she giggled.
"It would be nice," she said with a wink than she let out a breath. "It is nice to see you," she confessed, her gaze falling to the table and he smiled.
"It is nice to see you too," he replied and she lifted her gaze to him with a small smile. "Why do you think I called?" He asked with a small wink and she blushed a bit.
"You have it for me bad don't you?" She teased and he smirked.
"Darling you have no idea," he smirked than with a push of a button he ended the call. She stared for a few more moments at the empty screen than grinned turning away.
"I am an idiot…" She whispered and she heard a sound plop behind her onto one of her couches.
"You and me both," Reilie hissed staring at the ceiling. Serenity glanced at her fiery warrior and smirked.
"Would you like to tell me about it?" She questioned and Reilie sat up and grinned at her.
"Would you like to tell me about it?" She retaliated and Serenity scrunched her nose.
"If I speak it than its truth and I'm not at that point yet," she snapped and Reilie smirked relaxing once more into the cushions.
"Exactly."
"Not sure if I ever will be," Serenity mused a bit slowly and Reilie lifted an eyebrow at her beloved Princess.
"That sounds depressing," she informed quietly and Serenity pressed her lips together thoughtfully.
"Sometimes we take the sad roads to ensure the safe ones Reilie…" Serenity said with a sad smile and Reilie let out a deep breath.
"It would not be the end of the galactic order if you fell in love with him," she tred lightly and she watched Serenity's shoulders sag uncharacteristically.
"I should probably get back to preparing for the Saturn Peace Conference. Did you hear there is another galaxy far beyond Duida… how many stars are there that we have yet to uncover?" Her eyes twinkled with excitement and wonder and Reilie frowned at her. She understood her completely… Duty was a wonderful thing. Yet, it sometimes squashed everything in its path that could ever be a distraction, no matter if it was a good distraction or not.
Saturn was enchanting. Like Neptune it was one of her favorite planets to attend for a function. Yet, unlike Neptune this function was all business and no pleasure.
"My Princess," a small voice said beside her as Serenity drew her eyes away from the exquisite ballroom that was bustling with dignitaries and royalty. It was a Peace Convention, her third she had been to and the excitement of it was not lost on her. The planets represented were ones she had only read about and the thought of having another galaxy side to peace was enchanting. "Everything is ready as you have requested. I am greatly honored once more at your presence," the young girl finished bowing her head and Serenity bowed as well before taking a step closer to her.
"Oh my sweet friend how thankful am I for you. Truly you honor me with your presence," Serenity cooed to the young child and the Princess of Saturn blushed beautifully before her.
"The three largest planets of the Hanu galaxy are all represented here Princess and I believe are eager to meet you," The young girl continued as her dark eyes scanned the ballroom and Serenity smiled bringing her drink to her lips once more to let the delicious liquid slide inside. Indeed she and Lunar had been preparing for this meeting for months and she had already had the good fortune to strike up a sweet conversation with Prince Garred and he seemed to be quite open to a treaty. She smirked a bit into her glass at that thought. Her eyes suddenly stilled as they scanned the room and widened on a frame she was not expecting to see anytime soon. "My Princess… your body language has suddenly changed drastically," the small Princess whispered and Serenity gulped the liquid in her mouth as she tried to relax her features. She heard feet scuffling to her side and she pressed her lips together tightly.
"Your highness," her smooth voice said quickly beside her and Serenity composed her features and let out a breath as Lunar leaned near.
"I thought you were not going to invite him to this function," Serenity whispered and Lunar only let out a deep breath in answer.
"I did not inform him of this function your highness," Lunar replied with a defeated bow of her head and Hotaru's eyes traveled the ballroom to discover their topic of conversation.
"The Prince of Earth?" She inquired suddenly causing both to look in her direction. "My deepest apologies my Princess. He was included in our list as he is leader of your peace committee. Is it not good for him to strike alliances within our solar system as well our neighbors?" The young child's innocent voice hit a cord with Serenity and she regrettably agreed with the young child's reasoning's.
"Yes, of course. How kind of you to extend him an invitation. Excuse me," she said with a small bow as she kissed the small girl's forehead and than retreated. Retreated like a coward. She handed a servant her goblet and gripped the side of her skirt pulling its hem up a bit so she could pick up her pace. She was proud of Hotaru for her insight yet in this one situation she had not been thinking of the Earth Prince first. She had been thinking of herself.
Pushing through heavy curtains she exited onto a large open balcony. She sucked in the air greedily as she stared out into the vastness before her. There was no way to avoid him. She could feel his presence ever closer as it was. In fact she would not be surprised if he…
"Seren," his voice was smooth across her skin and she let out a breath clouding her mind from him. She turned, not masking a bit her annoyance at his presence.
"What are you doing here?" She spat in greeting to him and Endymion couldn't stop the smirk that rose on his lips at her sudden hostility. He had seen her only once since her covert mission to Earth and their request to not remember that night had been kept. It hardly affected their teasing but he'd never forget the way she had felt in his arms asleep or her confession.
"Darling this is quite a big event. I am afraid I am here because it would do my planet immeasurable good to make these contacts," he replied patiently as he stepped toward her, a glass of Neptunian wine in his hands. "I was wondering why you were not coming since I did not hear about this soiree from your social network. Yet I am glad to know you enough that you would never miss this treaty laden golden opportunity," he mused bringing the wine glass to his lips. She glanced away from him towards a set of stairs that led to stone gardens. Without informing him she headed that way, a small gulp dying in her throat at his words. His footsteps echoed behind her as he followed.
"You do not seem happy to see me," his voice stopped her at the bottom of the stairs and she glanced up at him, her eyes conveying the complete opposite of that statement and a bit more. He froze a bit in his step as those eyes encountered him.
"That is not the point Endy. I am busy," she began and released her skirts to slowly walk towards the frozen garden. Garden was a loose term since nothing really grew on Saturn. It was so far away from the sun that its winter lasted much longer so it was more a garden of sculptures. Stunning sculptures. "I have been preparing for this conference for months. These are important allies that we should secure," he followed her closely, trying to sneak into her mind to find her real reason for upset. "I cannot have you distracting me," she suddenly breathed turning to him and his eyes widened considerably in surprise.
"Who are you and what have you done with my Serenity?" He questioned and her eyes narrowed as she turned away from him once more to continue walking.
"I am not yours. It is that reason that I wish you would travel home. You seeing me in my natural element will only distress you," she tried, keeping all emotions out of this and making it completely logical.
"Are you so haughty to believe I am here just to bed you?" He snapped at her and Serenity turned to him with impatience. "How kind of you to try and shield my heart dear girl but I am here for a cause much bigger than your silly conquests." That had done it.
"My conquests bring treaties. They are what keep our Alliance in peace. I must ask you please to not disrupt that as what I achieve is for our galaxy's greater good."
"I am not in your Alliance Serenity," he cautioned and she pressed her lips together and glanced towards a stone hedge beside them. Without warning she closed the gap between them, her body pressing into his softly as her digits ran through the hair at the nape of his neck. His lips were captured and immediately he responded, his hands curling around her frame in a welcome embrace where she belonged. Her lips meshed over his in a steady rhythm, not needing or demanding but as if to somehow pacify him. At that he pushed her away a bit, their lips detaching with a slight sound. Her bright eyes blinked up to him and suddenly it hit him what was happening. She did not wish for him to see her go after other conquests. His heart thudded a bit and his fingers gripped at her gown. She was falling for him… He could almost see it in her eyes, feel it in her relaxed muscles as she rested in his arms. He was not invited to this conference on purpose… just so she would be able to work without him really distracting her. She had to be detached to perform her goals and he was the one conquest who had broken that rule of detachment. Her mouth opened once more but he knew there was no way she could tell him her real reasons.
"My poor Seren," he breathed quickly and her eyes widened a bit in surprise at his words. "I know your skills are rusty but I will not hold it against you if you cannot secure your treaties by your whiles alone," he began and immediately she was out of his arms, his words stinging into her spine.
"I believe my whiles are quite still in perfect condition," she hissed at him, her back straightening at his implication.
"Really? Care to wager?" He mused and she stepped away from him, her body immediately flustered at his implications.
"Wager?" She gasped out, alarmed she was hearing these words from him. Did he not want her for himself? He watched the confusion splash across her face and he felt his heart hurt. He sucked in a shallow breath trying to keep his resolve. She glanced away from him and he watched her expression change and hurt fill her eyes. It was gone in an instant though and he pressed his lips together painfully.
Of course he didn't want her for himself… She steeled her nerves and quickly disintegrated that thought. He was just another conquest.
"By the time this conference is over I wager that you cannot secure your top three treaties needed to gain peace to the Hanu galaxy," he breathed before her and she was in his personal space once more except this time he finally saw the light in her eyes flicker and knew he was once more in the presence of the Serenity he knew.
"You dare challenge me?" She breathed and he leaned forward, his body readily responding to her proximity.
"If it is too much for you… perhaps just one?" He taunted and her eyes lit up like candles as her mouth twisted into a smirk at the dare.
"Do not weep too much young Prince when I may not have energy for you later," she breathed as she stepped around him. He followed her, her words burning into him. "I have treaties to win," she finished over her shoulder as she shot him one smoldering look that stopped him in his tracks.
"We shall see Seren," he called as her frame vanished the way they had come. When she was safely out of sight he finally deflated a bit. His lips pressed together and he slowly poured the remainder of his wine from the glass onto the ground next to him. He watched the liquid splash than be sucked into the planet. A breath passed through his lips and he lifted his gaze to suddenly encounter a sparkling blue. The warrior glanced at him than at where her Princess had retreated. Venus. She was never far away and that had his lips curling up a bit. He admired the Venetian Princess for her vigilant guard. His steps were easy towards her and when he was within a few feet she bowed regally in respect.
"Tell me Venus…" He whispered holding out his glass to her. She took it quickly and quirked an eyebrow curiously at him. "How many treaties will she have to acquire until she ceases?" He questioned and the Warrior of Love smiled a bit sadly at him. She could hear it in his voice. Serenity had done it. She had done the impossible… but than again so had he. She glanced at the glass in her hand and could not stop the small grin on her features as she placed it on a bench near them.
"Perhaps one big treaty will be all she needs to quench her thirst sire," she responded calmly and Endymion's eyes unfocused on her than and on a spot she could not determine as those words floated across his mind.
"Perhaps," he breathed with a nod to her as he took the route the Princess had departed from a while earlier. "One can only hope," he whispered and Venus smiled broadly as she watched him depart back to the ballroom.
"I hate to be the pessimist…" A voice whispered across her shoulder and Venus' grin only widened. She turned suddenly, pushing her prey into the stairwell's support wall and her eyes lit with a small fire at the charming face before her.
"Than do not be," she breathed before her lips captured his and Kunzite smirked into her mouth as his arms hoisted her effortlessly into his arms. It was hard not to be enthralled by his other half's excitement. He had long since known his master was gone to her Princess but now he understood why Minet was so happy. It seems the Princess was just as far gone as him. Only time would tell if it would work out. With those two nothing could ever be guaranteed in stone.
"May I have this dance Prince Endymion?" The voice was sultry over his shoulder and Endymion couldn't help his tiers from sliding upwards as he turned to spy short blonde hair and bright green eyes.
"It would be my honor Lady Uranus," he said with a bow of his head and held out his arm as the vibrant Senshi Princess placed her arm through his to be led to the dance floor.
"I couldn't leave a good looking man like yourself alone," she cooed into his ear as he took her hand and they entered into the formal dance swirling around the Saturn ballroom.
"And to think all this time I thought I wasn't your type," he smirked leaning towards her and she giggled.
"I do make exceptions," she smirked and he chuckled.
"Good to know," he purred and she pulled him closer as they twirled.
"Well, I figured I had to make my move while her eyes were not upon you," she breathed casting a look towards the luminous Princess of the Moon.
"The magnanimous Princess of the Moon gets jealous of people talking to little ole me?" He teased and Uranus nodded affirmatively.
"How could she not? Those are quite some muscles you have hidden under that tunic your majesty," she hissed seductively and he pulled her against him and she gasped in surprise.
"Do not tease me so Uranus… I know your heart is elsewhere," he breathed across her neck and she laughed than let out a sigh.
"Indeed it is. But so is yours…" She mused and he shrugged lightly twirling her once more.
"Me? Have a heart? That doesn't really coincide with Earthlings…"
"Ah but you are changing the opinion of all Earthlings your Majesty. We kind of like your little planet now," she smiled and he stepped back and bowed as the dance ended.
"For that I am most honored," he responded and she bowed her head than let out a sigh.
"Did you upset her?" She asked and Endymion raised an eyebrow.
"Me?" He questioned than let his eyes wander across the ballroom to encounter Serenity laughing with a young Prince from Hanu. "Perhaps she is just focused," he breathed and she took his hand and led him from the dance floor.
"She is in love with you young Prince. I am not sure if she knows it yet… but it's true," she breathed quietly and Endymion stilled, tugging on her arm so that she turned to face him.
"That's a mighty accusation Uranus," he challenged and she nodded glancing her Princess' way.
"You are it for her. We all can see it. Her aura lights up whenever you are around. She has found an equal in you, a true friend," she said with great authority and Endymion let out a breath, unsure of how to respond to her romantic musings. "Would you love her Prince?" She questioned and Endymion brought her hand to his lips and kissed her knuckles sweetly.
"If she were mine? Like no other," he breathed against her fingers and Uranus bowed to him.
"You are a good man Prince Endymion," she said as she straightened and Endymion bowed his head to her.
"Let's hope," he teased.
He watched quietly as a valet began to pack his things. This conference had been illuminating. He was fortunate for the good graces he had fallen in with the monarchs of the Hanu galaxy. He believed even Serenity would be proud of the impression he had made. Serenity. He brought his glass to his lips once more and finished off the amber liquid within.
"Sire, should I begin to worry about your alcohol consumption?" Kunzite asked quietly from across the room and Endymion let his shoulders relax a bit as the liquid traveled through his veins. With a small sarcastic smile Endymion placed the glass on a table and let out a breath.
"I have finally met a woman who has driven me to drink. What kind of man have I become Kunzite?" Endymion breathed, his hands falling to his hips as his gaze fell to the floor. "I fear she may have won our little game," he whispered quietly and Kunzite had to move forward to hear his Prince correctly.
"From what I have observed sire I still believe quite fiercely that you are both still evenly matched," Kunzite reassured and Endymion's lips curled a bit at one side.
"I have never been a jealous man but I am afraid it reared at me as I saw her with them," he mumbled and with a nod to the valet as he departed turned back to his bedchambers for one last restless sleep on this planet.
"Is that why we are leaving early sire?" Kunzite questioned quietly as he followed his Prince into his chambers. Endymion pulled at his neck cloth and let out a breath, letting defeat swell in him a bit before he pushed it aside to be locked away and never revisited.
"I have done all I can at this conference. I hope you are as pleased with my results as I am yet to stay further and watch her succeed is not wise. Perhaps a few months apart would be wise," he mused with a breath and Kunzite clasped his hands behind his back.
"I am afraid you cannot miss her peace committee next month. Avoiding her will be difficult," he breathed and Endymion turned to his trusted friend and for the first time was honest out loud.
"Do you think I was foolish?" He questioned and Kunzite's green eyes took in the form of the man he respected most. He could not stop his smile of both admiration and pride.
"Foolish? For taking her on? No. It had been prophesied in your favor… how could that have been a foolish endeavor?" Kunzite teased a bit and Endymion felt his tiers curling up as he took a seat.
"Ah, perhaps that was my foolishness. Pride," he mused, his knuckles pressing against his lips and Kunzite shook his head.
"I could never call you foolish sire. For if I did I would have to refer the same fate to myself and I know for a fact I am not a fool," Kunzite replied and Endymion's quiet laughter filled the room.
"It is worth it then?" He questioned and the answer in Kunzite's eyes was enough for Endymion. "I fear if we had been like you and your heart Kunzite she and I would be having a very different evening," he breathed and Kunzite bowed his head a bit to his Prince knowing that though the Princess had made it into his heart he would not let her stay. They had not spoken to each other in two days and it was obvious where her loyalties lay. With a sigh and a look of determination his Prince stood and nodded to his first in command.
"Should I not let her in then?" Kunzite questioned suddenly with a raised eyebrow. Endymion blinked at his question than glanced through his chamber doors to the parlor beyond whose main doors were opening. "As if I could stop her," Kunzite whispered with a bow as the woman of topic breezed in easily as if she belonged there. Kunzite smirked a bit. Indeed she did. She spotted her prey easily and made her way quickly towards him, her face alive and bright as it met his of amusement.
"Come to admit defeat of our little wager?" Endymion greeted as she slowly pulled off white gloves that were restricting her delicious fingers.
"Hardly. Come to claim my prize would be more precise," she smirked and he closed the gap between them, pulling the gloves from her hands and letting them drop to the floor. The doors to his chamber closed behind her as Kunzite smiled a bit knowingly than vanished.
"I do not believe you deserve a prize. It took you two days to secure three treaties. I am not impressed," he breathed against the skin of her cheek and she smirked tugging at his tunic as she stepped closer.
"What would you say if I secured seven in two days?" Her breath tickled the skin of his neck and he felt it travel all the way down his spine. He straightened, his deep cobalt eyes staring into her shining ones that seemed to darken as he stared.
"I would have to call you a bit loose," he responded and immediately her laughter filled the room as her hands roughly pushed him away.
"Endymion how dare you!" She cried, her eyes alight with amusement as she quickly turned to the doors to leave. His arms were around her waist in an instant pulling her back against him and she smirked settling into his embrace.
"Fine, you may have a prize yet be thankful the Hanu galaxy is not close to ours. I would hate to cause an intergalactic incident if they dared try and touch you again," he hissed against her skin and as his words hit her ears the color drained from her face. She pushed from his arms and stalked away from him. He could see her muscles tense and could almost hear the panic begin in her brain.
"This is why I wanted you to leave," her voice sounded a bit hallow as her shoulders hunched forward, her back facing him. "You would not understand," she breathed and Endymion pressed his lips together as he studied her back. It was so elegant, so beautiful… all the things she was supposed to be all the time.
"There are other ways to secure treaties," he whispered and as if in an instant all the air left the room and she spun on him, clear hurt in her eyes.
"How dare you! Do you think me some cheap whore to turn tricks?" She spat angrily at him and the word dug into him painfully. He took a step forward to wrap her in his arms but stopped himself. "Why do you even care who touches me? This is just some game to you… Am I not just another one of your whores?" She hissed at him and he saw her eyes sparkle with unshed tears. Anger flashed through him and than suddenly he vanished before her eyes leaving only his magic lingering. She barely had time to catch her breath at his action when she felt the crushing wind of his return as he appeared an inch before her, pushing her frame into a wall as one of his hands wrapped around her waist, the other sliding across her jaw line to tangle into her hair. His lips attached to hers aggressively and she met his ardor as his frame flattened hers into the wall.
I have never treated you as such. You are my equal Seren. My other half. His voice pounded in her head as his lips continued to dominate over her being. She responded desperately as if to erase their conversation completely and just focus on what was happening between them with no politics or treaties. He pulled away abruptly, the loud smack of their lips pulling apart filling the room as his eyes opened with surprise to stare at her.
"You do not think of treaties when you are with me?" He questioned, his voice breathless and her eyes looked up at him with a bit of surprise. Damn her thoughts. She sucked in a deep breath and Endymion was struck by her appearance. She was thoroughly kissed and looked completely open and vulnerable. "Serenity…" He moaned her name and his lips attached to hers as his hands expertly began to attack her clothing. Her hands wrapped around him for leverage as she felt the world spinning out of control. She could barely think and his hands were making the fire in her rage to a point that thinking seemed like a foolish idea anyway. Though with effort she pushed away from him and his hands immediately stilled, his face buried in her neck as she tried to regain herself and regain the situation. Yet she couldn't. She enjoyed the frenzy. She let out a deep breath, her eyes closing as her fingers clutched to his shoulders.
"They never touched me," she breathed quietly and slowly Endymion's head rose
to see her face. "My body is not a bargaining chip for treaties. It never has and nor will it ever be. My dear have you not realized my diplomatic skills are far better than my beauty?" She whispered and she saw the sheer joy in his eyes at her statement. It made her lips curl up as he leant into her frame possessively.
"Than what are you doing with me?" He dared question as he stared down at the beauty in his arms. Her eyes flickered up to his playfully as a smirk pulled at her deliciously swollen lips. His forehead pressed against hers as his eyes closed in contentment. She quickly wrapped her arms around him tightly, anchoring herself to him and he grinned a bit returning the embrace with as much ardor.
"What a pair we are," her voice wafted across his ear and it felt as if his heart had exploded. His hand cupped her cheek lovingly as his forehead rubbed soothingly against her own.
"Indeed," he breathed across her neck and he felt her body shiver in pleasure. Bending down he quickly scooped her off of her feet and carried her to his bed. "Let's work on that little girl shall we?" He whispered across her skin as he slowly kissed her stomach and than headed north towards her lips. Her eyes lit up with surprise and amusement and before she had the chance to rebuke him his lips captured hers possessively.
Consciousness tickled at her eyelids and her frame stretched instinctively only to push into a hard warm body that was wrapped around her. Her eyelids popped at the sensation until her brain reminded her exactly where she was. He stretched beside her and his arms tightened around her frame as he refused to let his eyes open. She smirked pushing upon his chest as she crawled closer to him, intertwining her legs with his.
"Hm… playful in the morning Serenity?" His voice was gravely and sent shivers up her spine as he turned to her, running his skilled fingers down her side and into her hair.
"I would not know. I am usually never around for mornings," she hissed at him and his tiers curled up conspiratorially.
"You must be getting old. Losing your touch love," he breathed into her neck as he buried his face into her luxurious locks and she giggled sweetly.
"Perhaps," she breathed, her hands wrapping around him greedily.
"I hate to say it my dear but all our work is done at this conference… we may have earned ourselves a break," he mumbled into her skin as his lips nipped at her pulse point. She arched into his arms as her eyes closed in contentment. Mornings apparently weren't that bad…
"I have never stayed in bed all day. I heard it is quite amusing," she spoke thoughtfully and Endymion raised his head so his eyes could spy into her own. She smiled endearingly at his mussed hair and hooded eyes.
"It is amusing… if you are not alone," he teased leaning in to nip at her lips. "We should try it," he breathed, returning to her neck again when a knock sounded at his door suddenly. Both froze and Serenity tried to hold in her giggles, hiding her face in his shoulder. He smirked eyeing her before turning his attention to the door.
"Sire," A voice said from the other side. "Your transport is here for our departure," Kunzite's voice was clear and Serenity rose a delicate eyebrow at her companion as he glanced back at her.
"You are leaving the conference a day early?" She whispered and a small smile tugged at his roguish lips.
"I am afraid I could watch you no longer," he breathed glancing back at the door until he felt her soft fingers scroll across his cheek, cupping his jaw.
"Aw, my poor jealous Endymion. Wanted me all to yourself?" Her voice was dripping in amusement and he smirked turning back to her.
"Of course," he purred and she bit her lower lip teasingly as she burrowed into his embrace.
"How interesting," a voice said suddenly and Serenity's body immediately tensed and scurried under the covers. Endymion blinked with surprise as the voice of Venus floated through the doors to their ears. "We must be sharing the same transport. I have informed the conference of our absence. Good to know we will not be missed. Good day General."
"Good day Venus," Kunzite responded and Endymion quickly pulled Serenity from her hiding place and shot her a chastising look.
"You hide from your guardian?" He snapped at her and Serenity had the decency to look a bit chagrinned.
"I have broken many rules young Prince. Do not chastise me until you have walked in my shoes and preached what I have preached," she spat playfully and he grinned running his fingers along her side adoringly.
"Yes, you must be eating so many of your words right now aren't you love?" He breathed before planting a kiss on her collarbone. She moaned a bit at the interaction when suddenly the doors to the chambers opened.
"Yes. She is," a voice stated into the air calmly and Serenity sat up, wrapping the sheets around her as she stared quite annoyed at her guardian. "Thankfully I am an excellent liar for her," Venus said with a small smirk as she pushed a large tray of food towards their bed. She opened one of the dishes for the monarchs and smirked a bit at them as she bowed. "Try and be on the early transport tomorrow morning before anyone realizes you never left," Venus breathed as she returned to her standing position. "I'll be on Mars waiting for you Princess," she said softly and with another bow of her head turned to leave.
"Minet," Serenity said quickly and the tall warrior stilled. With little grace but much excitement the Princess shuffled over Endymion's frame to come closer to her cousin. The blonde beauty turned to her Princess and met her half way as she threw herself in her arms. "I shall love you forever," she breathed into her sweet friend's ear and Venus wrapped her arms around her lovingly.
"So proud of you," Venus breathed into her ear than quickly pulled away. She kissed her Princess' cheek quickly than made her way towards the door.
"Till Earth my Prince," Kunzite bowed politely and opened the door for Venus to exit than closed it securely behind them. Serenity and Endymion sat frozen staring at the closed doors for a few moments. They were both overwhelmed by the loyalty their guardians showed for them. An arm curled around Serenity's waist and hoisted her back into his lap. His lips trailed down her exposed neck to her spine and she smiled with contentment.
"I do not know about you Princess, but I am starving," he breathed across her skin and her soft laughter filled the room as both turned towards the food tray with intentionality.
Her frame walked slowly down the red marbled halls of the Martian palace. She had arrived a few moments ago but was thankful for the time being to be left alone in her thoughts. Her steps slowed as his image and the last twenty-four hours rolled through her head. She could not have stopped the silly blush on her cheeks for the entire galaxy. With a hand she touched them hoping she could wipe the offending proclamation from her face. She had never felt so light in all her existence yet more conflicted. She was playing with fire but rather than see the consequences she just took the situation at face value and logged it as one of the best experiences of her life. He was finding himself on her list of best experiences often lately. Slowly she tugged her bottom lip into her mouth and bit on it. She was not fanciful to imagine a lifetime romance or even marriage. She was practical and logical and took the situation as just a fleeting moment she was privy to enjoy. She expected nothing more from him and assumed he expected nothing more from her as well. They were each others escapes. And for that she could never be more thankful to him.
"What if he did expect more from you?" A voice came beside her and Serenity felt her cheeks blush a bit more and she turned into the open arms of her trusted advisor. She smirked a bit burying her face into Lunar's silky onyx curls.
"Please do not tell me he has sent over a proposal of marriage. It will devastate me," she breathed and Lunar could only smile and wrap her arms around her young charge.
"He has not," Lunar confirmed and the young Princess pulled out of her arms and let out a long sigh of contentment.
"Than all is right with the universe," Serenity cooed holding out her arms and Lunar was struck by this unusual person who stood before her. Her Princess was relaxed and content. It was a rare vision.
"Except for the fact that we choose to rendezvous on my planet. We must depart before Marlina hears," Mars voice snapped behind her and Serenity turned to spy her four warriors and smirked a bit at them.
"I hope you had as much fun as I did," Serenity cooed to them and Jupiter smirked a bit crossing her arms across her chest as she took in her Princess
"If I was able to be with child I would be expecting twins," she spat playfully and Serenity giggled and Mercury threaded her arm through her Princess' and walked her back towards the transport room.
"I must applaud you on your great success at the conference Princess. You must be very proud," The Mercuran Princess cooed gently leading her Princess down the hall, the other four following closely behind.
"Do you think if I married I'd still have the same success rate?" Serenity asked thoughtfully and with a small smile and glance to her left to spy Lunar Mercury turned back to her Princess and nodded resolutely.
"Absolutely Princess," she soothed and Serenity glanced at her companions and nodded soundly.
