Endymion turned eagerly to the door as Kunzite entered.
"Do you have it?" He questioned, his feet bringing him across the room swiftly. Kunzite grinned as he held up a small box.
"I would not fail you on such an important mission," he breathed and Endymion smiled approvingly at his general. "We are ready to depart for the Moon your highness. I assume you are ready to go?" He questioned and Endymion flipped the box open and grinned.
"I am now," he said as he closed the box securely and tucked it into his tunic.
"Excuse me!" A voice hissed outside the door and suddenly it was thrown open once more. "Sire!" Zoycite called rushing after the woman cloaked in green and Kunzite took a step in front of his prince.
"Darling. Your guards must be spoken too," The woman hissed, her bright red hair curling down her shoulders as she approached him.
"Ah, just the woman I wanted to see," Endymion hissed and Beryl's green eyes lightened and she gasped.
"Really?" She questioned hopefully and Endymion approached her and grabbed her shoulders securely.
"Surprisingly," he countered and she looked upon him with complete love. "I have heard of the deal you struck with my father for my hand," he began and Beryl's eyes widened a bit than joy spread across her face.
"Is it not wonderful!? We should be married by month's end my love!" She cooed
grabbing onto him possessively and he quickly removed her hands.
"I have broken the deal. There will be no wedding nor ever will be between us," he stated clearly and Beryl's face deflated as she stared up at him.
"But…" She breathed and he held her gaze.
"I choose my bride and I am sorry but I do not choose you. I will not choose any bride from these courts," he stated firmly and than pulled his cape around his shoulders.
"But…" She began again and he shook his head as he led her to the door.
"You are no longer allowed within these halls. Go, find another prince to marry
but it will never be me," he said strongly than turned and flanked by his four generals he was led away to a waiting transport. Beryl watched him go and her frame slid to the floor helplessly as tears fell silently from her eyes.
Lunar opened the doors regally towards Serenity's bedchambers. She smiled at the relaxed form and saw her shift a bit as she tried to awaken.
"Your guests should start arriving in an hour," Lunar mumbled quietly and Serenity yawned and stretched as a smile fell to her lips, excitement beginning to churn in her system. "At least curb your enthusiasm a bit," Lunar sighed and Serenity sat up, her bright blue eyes taking in the form of her advisor.
"Curb my enthusiasm? Lunar today is the first meeting of my genius plan," Serenity said throwing the curtains back as she stood, her feet touching the cold marble and she shivered a bit as she quietly padded towards a waiting maid who quickly placed a robe around her shoulders.
"And which genius plan is that my dear?" Lunar questioned raising an eyebrow at her and Serenity spun, her eyes shining with merriment.
"My Peace Committee dear woman! All the young monarch are attending. I finally feel useful, something my bed hopping cannot begin to achieve. The meetings of minds that will soon rule planets that will bring peace hopefully forever to the galaxy. What could be more exciting than that?" Serenity said with a wink as she walked into her boudoir and Lunar shook her head with a smile.
"Silly me. I thought you were a bit excited to see your Prince Endymion," Lunar mumbled quietly as she left the room, a small smile tugging on her lips as her charge prepared. This would be an interesting week.
Endymion let out a breath as he stepped out of the transport onto the Royal Gardens. He had only been to the palace a few times but it still unnerved him. Yet, this time it felt much different. His guards flanked him as he walked towards the greeting party. He smirked a bit to himself to not see her among them.
"Your highness," Artemis said with a bow and Endymion fell in step with him as they moved to the castle entrance.
"Greetings Artemis," Endymion breathed with a grin towards him and Artemis smirked with a nod.
"Congratulations on achieving the impossible your highness," Artemis said suddenly and Endymion sucked in a breath as they entered into the purity of the palace. It was beautiful. Everything from this place was.
"I will accept that once she is crowned the Queen of Earth," Endymion breathed and Artemis nodded with a bow of his head.
"Than, how has your expedition into peace been so far highness?" Artemis questioned and Endymion glanced at him.
"You mean how have I enjoyed being a puppet of peace for Serenity?" He tried and Artemis shook his head.
"I have no idea what you are speaking of," Artemis said with a small grin and Endymion stilled and he smiled at the form before them.
"Prince Endymion. A pleasure as always," Lunar grinned before him and Endymion leaned forward and planted a kiss upon her cheek causing a blush to rise to her cheeks as he wrapped an arm around her waist turning her towards the chambers she had prepared for him and his men.
"What has my minx been up to Lunar?" He breathed across her neck and Artemis shook his head as the entourage walked into the spacious quarters.
"You mean besides getting secretly engaged? A lot," a voice said before them and Endymion smirked, releasing Lunar to approach the form before him.
"Your highness," Endymion smiled with a bow and Fergal grinned at him walking towards him. "I am glad to see you. I was hoping we could have a chat."
"I bet," Fergal smirked standing before him.
"She told you then?" Endymion asked a bit chagrinned. Zoycite stepped to his Prince and handed him a portfolio with his offer of proposal in it. "She drew it up herself…" He let out a breath with a shake of his head, a smirk on his features at the negotiating they had done to get the papers within. "But still please look at it and I will be happy to make any changes as long as your answer is yes," Endymion breathed handing him the portfolio and Fergal gently took it.
"I always told her if you asked I would give her to you," he mumbled holding the proposal tightly. Endymion blinked surprised. "Unnerved her to no end that I would do so…" Fergal remembered fondly and he let out a deep breath. "You remind me much of myself young Prince… I could think of no better match for my precious daughter," he breathed and Endymion sucked in a steadying breath, humbled by those words.
"I could not be more honored with your approval King Fergal," he said with a bow of his head and Fergal smirked a bit.
"You had it the minute you baited her at the Negotiation Tower," he chuckled and Endymion smirked.
"Not to sound childish but it will be nice having a normal father figure around," Endymion breathed and Fergal nodded, affection on his face for the young Prince.
"It will be nice to have a son," he breathed than suddenly he remembered why he was there and Fergal cleared his throat motioning for all of the servants to leave them. Endymion watched them pile out and Kunzite closed the door behind them leaving only the advisors, Kunzite and the King. "I assume you read the prophecy," Fergal began without preamble and Endymion nodded, not expecting this turn of conversation.
"Yes. I wasn't a big fan of it and had every intention of fighting it," he replied honestly and Fergal raised an eyebrow at him.
"What happened?" He questioned and Endymion sucked in a deep breath.
"I thought I had put up a good fight," he mused to himself and Lunar grinned a bit. "I'm afraid she became a part of me. Something I did not want to live without," he confessed and Fergal studied him. "I fell for her hopefully as hard as she fell for me," he breathed, his gaze falling as her image came to his mind. "Your majesty… I wanted to have my own life. To not be ruled by some piece of paper and I fought her with everything in me just as she fought me," Endymion continued, his gaze holding Fergal's. "But I lost. I lost to her and I am quite satisfied about it," he finished, a smile lighting his features. Fergal pressed his lips together a bit sadly and Endymion looked alarmed at his expression.
"She knows nothing of the prophecy," he suddenly confessed and Endymion balked.
"What? How is that possible?" He questioned and Fergal shook his head.
"I did not want it to rule her life. I wanted her to be free and make her own decisions. Yet… I confess we did not dissuade her from you," he said quietly and Endymion stiffened a bit.
"You pushed her at me?" He accused and Fergal looked away.
"Not with much force. More baited her…" Fergal replied and Endymion ran a hand over his mouth and turned away from the King. She knew nothing… now everything made such sense. Suddenly his heart lightened.
"She fell in love with me for me," he stated suddenly and a smile spread across his tiers and he caught the responding smile of his general near the door. Than suddenly the situation hit him like a ton of bricks. "Oh no…"
"Your highness we cannot apologize enough. We didn't realize her personality would take such a shift…" Artemis began than stopped as a frown creased his features.
"You must tell her," Endymion announced as he fell into a chair.
"Sire, I do not believe that is wise," Lunar said suddenly walking towards him.
"So you wish me to marry her and than have her find out later? How could we be so cruel to her?" He demanded and Lunar shrunk away.
"We shall tell her," Fergal announced solemnly. "Yet, I hope this does not change your future." Endymion stood abruptly.
"What if it does? Am I to live with the consequences of your mistake? For she will run from me if she feels she had no hand in her choice."
"You have been her choice. All of her choices have been her own. We just must hope her love for you is strong enough to see that," Fergal said strongly gently clasping Endymion's shoulder in re-assurance. He nodded and turned to leave the young Prince to his chambers.
"King Fergal," Endymion said suddenly and Fergal turned to spy him. "May I have your daughter's hand in marriage?" He asked gently and Fergal smiled.
"I would give her willingly to no other," he responded with a nod and Endymion nodded as well and watched as the Lunarian court filed out.
"Human error," Kunzite breathed and Endymion blinked looking at him. A knock came at the door and Kunzite quietly opened it revealing the Warrior of Mercury.
"Welcome your highness," she said politely with a bow. "My Princess requests a moment of your time in her chambers," she finished with a smile motioning out the door and Endymion let out a breath and nodded.
She critically eyed the gown in the mirror. It was unlike her normal attire and more opulent than she preferred. Yet, tonight was a special occasion. She sucked in a deep breath running a hand down the ivory lace overlay over the shimmering moon silk gown. A maid finished placing her crown into her hair and she sucked in a deep breath.
"You look like a queen," the maid mumbled reverently and Serenity gulped a bit, her eyes looking at her reflection with a bit of fear.
"Indeed you do," a male voice said suddenly and Serenity's blue eyes flicked up to catch the Prince of Earth's reflection and her sour expression turned joyous.
"Think so?" She asked quietly as she motioned for the servants to leave them.
"I am afraid you have rendered me speechless," Endymion smiled as he slowly approached her. A small blush rose to her cheeks and she smiled as she picked up the hem to turn in the heavy gown.
"I feel like I am getting married," she confessed with a bit of a groan and suddenly he vanished before her eyes and she felt the rush of air as he appeared beside her, his arms wrapping around her tightly. She grinned at his magic and shook her head.
"I wish you were getting married," he breathed across her cheek and she smiled, her eyes closing in happiness. She buried herself in his arms happily and he smiled just holding her for a few moments. Finally she pulled away and smiled.
"Yes, well I am not getting married just yet," she breathed and moved away from him. Endymion frowned a bit at that than followed her as she led them to a sitting area.
"Are you afraid of becoming queen?" He asked with a small smirk and Serenity glanced over her shoulder at him and grinned as she sat down.
"I good sir will not be queen for a century more," she said with a smile and Endymion smirked a bit at her.
"Love… you will become Queen of Earth," he teased and that information dawned on her face and she looked a bit queasy.
"Oh… that's right," she whispered looking down and he sat beside her and lifted her chin with a smile.
"You did not think this through as well as all of your usual plans did you my love?" He whispered and she gulped a bit, a hand going to her stomach.
"Darling, agreeing to marry you was never really in my plans," she snarked at him and he frowned playfully at her. "Queen? I must confess honestly that I have been happy to hide in my immortality… that such a huge responsibility would not pass to my shoulders for a very long time," she began, her voice going soft and Endymion intertwined his fingers with hers.
"Think a year would be enough time for you to get ready?" He teased and she huffed pulling her fingers away from him.
"Oh what baggage you come with my love," she said on a sigh and Endymion couldn't stop the chuckle that rumbled through his chest.
"Yes, all of those pesky people are a part of my package deal," he winked.
"Are you disappointed in me that I am not very prepared?" She questioned, closing an eye cautiously and peeking at him with the other.
"You cannot be prepared for everything… I kind of like you to have a few faults Serenity," he cooed as his hands gently cupped her cheeks, their eyes locking and she let out a frustrated sigh.
"This peace conference has certainly taught me that. It is the reason why I called you here. Tonight is the opening gala and it's very important as all of the galaxy's monarch's are here."
"All of them?" He questioned with a raised eyebrow. He was under the impression only the children were here.
"Well, all that are in the Alliance. But I asked them all here for the sole purpose of showing you off," she breathed, absently fixing his tunic. "It's very important that we show them you are nothing like your father and a King worthy of their respect and admiration," she said, a bit of that admiration coming through in her voice and Endymion blinked a bit surprised.
"Love why do you not just tell them I am marrying you… than I would automatically gain their favor. For a man who got a willing yes out of the pickiest, marriage hating Princess in the galaxy must be worth something," he teased and she looked up at him a bit hurt.
"You indeed did get a willing yes. I practically threw myself at you," she huffed and he brought her closer, wanting to quickly squelch her negative thinking.
"More like put me out of my misery. Do you know what it is like to find your perfect match and know she thinks settling down is a death sentence?" He inquired with a smirk and she blushed.
"Yes, well desperation can change even the hardest of hearts…" Serenity mused and Endymion shook his head with wonder.
"Do you know nothing of romance woman?" He snapped and she dismissed his remark with a smile.
"Romance aside, you do not need me to do anything," she breathed and cupped his face in her hands. "This whole grand scheme has been for your benefit. To bring the Earth back to its full glory by showing them what kind of amazing King will soon reign. You are enough to convince them," she smiled reassuringly and Endymion gulped, his hand clasping onto hers as the weight of her words hit him.
"Serenity… you did all of this for Earth?" He questioned in a bit of awe and she smiled adoringly at him.
"Just because you are not in the Alliance does not mean you do not deserve our protection and respect," she responded and than moved to stand. He pulled her back down next to him and his lips met hers softly and lovingly. He gently ran his nose along hers and smiled.
"I am unworthy to have you as my Queen," he breathed and Serenity sucked in a deep breath and pulled away to look at him.
"I…" She stuttered and he smirked and quickly pulled her into his lap, silencing her with another kiss. Their lips warred happily for a few moments until finally she pulled away. "I am so glad you are happy with me," she said breathlessly and Endymion raised an eyebrow at that odd statement. "Hopefully that will mean you will not be angered that I have arranged for you to give a speech tonight to the assembled," she finished quickly and than immediately stood.
"A what?" Endymion repeated, his eyes bearing into her own.
"I have full confidence in you," she grinned turning to him and he squinted his eyes at her.
"I like that I am the one thing you do not have planned my love… as the rest of our existence is way too planned," he grumbled and than quickly pulled her to him for one last kiss. She watched him leave than gulped.
"Endymion," she called and he stilled at the door, turning to look at her. "I will work to be the best queen I can be for Earth," she said resolutely and he pressed his lips together and than quickly walked back to her. He took her lovingly into his arms and pressed his forehead against her.
"Oh love… you already are," he breathed before his lips gently touched hers and she shivered a bit, a smirk on her lips right before he captured them. She could be a little late to dinner…
She made her way quickly down the hall, her soldiers flanking her.
"Serenity," her father's voice stopped her and she smiled turning to him. He stilled catching her attire and he felt his breath escape him.
"Do you like it?" She asked and Fergal smiled adoringly at her. He glanced at her warriors and slowly they walked away giving the King space with his daughter.
"Like a Queen," he breathed and Serenity put a hand to her stomach and she pushed down a bit of nausea
"Oh, do not remind me. Endymion is too excited for me to be Queen," she smiled, a blush staining her cheeks. Fergal nodded and pulled out the young Prince's proposal.
"As well he should be. You will be an excellent Queen to our people." He paused for a moment and his daughter's clear eyes met his. "I signed it," he breathed holding it out to her and Serenity let out a breath as joy spread across her face. For a moment she was afraid he was going to tell her the opposite. Delicately she took the folder from his fingers and smiled adoringly at him. "Interesting stipulations in there," he mumbled motioning to the proposal and Serenity grinned at him.
"I hope you don't mind them," she questioned and he let out a breath with a shake of his head.
"Not as long as he is what you want pet, isn't he?" He questioned and Serenity's
fingers clutched to the document before her.
"When you told me he was betrothed and I would soon be as well I thought my utter devastation was because I was going to marry a stranger…" She began as she stepped before him. "Yet the thought of not speaking with him… not laughing with him or even touching him… it tore through me. That someone else would be his bride. It devastated me," she whispered as she reverently ran her fingertips over the proposal. "When I confronted him he was a bit horrified," she laughed and glanced up at her father, tears welling in the bottom of her lids. "Perhaps he had the same thoughts about me?" She questioned and Fergal gently took her into his arms.
"He loves you deeply my darling… said he would do anything if I would only say yes," he breathed and Serenity let out a deep breath, a tear trickling down her cheek.
"I hope so father," she smiled and Fergal glanced at her surprised.
"Hasn't he told you?" He questioned and Serenity wiped at her tears and sucked in a deep breath regaining herself.
"I imagine he doesn't have to," she began with a grin. "His actions are pretty evident," she mumbled looking at the proposal. "Thank you," she whispered and gently kissed his cheek.
"Serenity, there is something…" Fergal began, his voice cracking a bit, knowing this wasn't exactly the best time.
"Seren," a voice said approaching them and the Princess felt her cheeks flush a bit. "You are going to be late to the opening ceremony," Endymion chastised as he approached her.
"Last minute business," she cooed and he smirked down at the proposal in her arms. He glanced at the King and bowed his head.
"Your Majesty," he greeted and King Fergal nodded. Gently the Prince took the proposal from his bride's fingers and held it to his left, Mercury quickly grasping it from him. "My darling, may I escort you?" He questioned holding out his hand and Serenity looked up at him adoringly as she placed her fingers within his. Suddenly she turned, her bright blue eyes meeting her father's deep red.
"Were you saying something father?" She questioned and Fergal quirked a small smile at her.
"Just if he ever hurt you I'd have him killed in the worst way I could ever imagine," he smirked causing Endymion to raise an eyebrow at him.
"Oh Father… I'd get to him first before anyone else would have the chance," Serenity replied silkily and Endymion squeezed her fingers causing her attention to fly back to him.
"How kind my love," he teased and she winked at him.
"We will follow behind my dear, I believe we are just guests at your Peace Conference," her mother's voice suddenly cut into their teasing and Serenity looked back at her parents affectionately than took a step towards Endymion. Securely he tucked her hand in his arm and led her down the hall with confidence and she fell easily in step with him. They walked the long hall easily. Lunar and Artemis were before them, her parents following behind and her warriors after.
"Should we enter together?" She questioned quietly and Endymion smirked at her.
"Darling, everyone already knows you are in love with me… why deny it any longer?" He questioned and she gently leaned her forehead against him. "Besides, how will I be able to hold your hand if you are not beside me?" He questioned and her eyes closed in happiness.
"I adore you Endymion," she whispered quietly and he kissed her forehead lovingly, her moon symbol shimmering under his lips.
"My most favorite words of my existence…" He breathed than stilled her before the opulent doors to the grand dinning hall. She glanced at him quietly, taking in his chiseled features and she turned to the doors and sucked in a deep breath. Wasn't exactly the response she was hoping for but it would do.
"Her Majesty the Crown Princess of the Moon, Serenity and His Majesty the crown Prince of Earth, Endymion," A loud voice boomed as the doors opened before them.
"Perfection," Lunar breathed watching them walk inside to applause and Fergal winked at her beside him.
She sucked in a deep breath, her bright blue eyes rising to meet an encouraging identical pair beside her. Her Mother nodded approvingly and slowly Serenity stood, her silver crown shining upon her silver locks as she stood before the Monarch of the galaxy.
"What a great honor it is to sit amongst you," Serenity breathed with a bow of her head as all gathered turned their eyes upon her. "What good humor you have all had these past few months with my little pet project," Serenity began and Endymion huffed from a few seats down as her voice carried beautifully in the opulent hall.
"Is she speaking of me?" He asked suddenly and chuckles erupted around the massive table.
"I have delighted in creating this small circle of Monarchs who will one day rule this galaxy. I have been humbled by their strength, their love of their people, their kindness and most of all… their leadership that is no doubt a direct reflection of their excellent breeding," Serenity smiled and Fergal smirked, his eyes catching Endymion's down the table.
"Now she is not speaking of you," he hissed and Endymion narrowed his eyes playfully at the Sun King.
"I have been unworthy to be in these ranks of future Monarchs… I am excited about the futures of our people. They have a bright future ahead of them as I know the leaders coming are for them and live to see them prosper," she smiled with a bow of her head and the children of the Monarch bowed their head respectfully in response. "Perhaps none so bright as my own people… who live under a Monarch we have not always befriended," Serenity said with a small breath and Fergal glanced at his plate. "Yet, it is a monarch with a bright future and with leadership I have long put my faith in. Perhaps I did indeed do it in a moment of chaos…" Serenity began with a small smirk and a few snickers resounded around the table. "But my instincts have only been proven right and I am honored… though he has still yet to give me a treaty… to have Prince Endymion among us and will delight greatly in his future coronation," she raised her glass and others quickly followed. "I hope you will all toast with me to the head of my Peace Committee, the man who has proved us wrong in our perception of the floating blue and green orb… to Prince Endymion," she smiled with affection and Endymion's eyes caught hers from across the table. He stood slowly and smiled a bit as he raised his glass with appreciation.
"I must say these last few months have been quite a surprise… I will admit I am not bitterly disappointed you all did not turn out to be evil war hungry aliens," he mused and a few chuckles flittered through the room. "Discounting Princess Marlina of course," he mused and the fiery Princess smirked with a wink. "For many years I have grown to distrust everything that came from my father's lips. My mother was fond of Queen Selenity and her teachings. She would tell me the grand story of how the planets aligned with the Princess' birth and how it was inspiring to see so many worlds in harmony, in peace," he paused for a moment and stared into his glass. "I am afraid we Earthlings rarely have known peace… yet I hope that all changes. I know my people are ready for a change and I am ready," he smiled and cast his glance towards Serenity's end of the table. "And now knowing you all aren't evil aliens I feel that change will be very smooth when it comes," he smiled and chuckles once more filled the table. "I can only express my heartfelt thankfulness for your kindness in accepting me, a bigot prejudiced alien hater into your midst," he mused and Serenity smiled brightly.
"Well, we did always know Serenity would kill you if you hurt us," Queen Vinet smirked and Endymion nodded.
"She did try and shoot a comet through me once," Endymion mused and laughter filled the room followed by applause. He bowed respectfully to them and gently took his seat.
Excellent my love. He heard her voice in his head and he smiled a bit to himself. You never disappoint. He turned to her at that thought and her eyes caught his than turned discreetly away.
Same for you my love… same for you.
Queen Vinet smiled broadly, her head tilting to the side curiously as she took in the Prince of Earth and the Princess of the Moon chatting conversationally across the room. It was a small intimate party, music on one end as old friends gathered and talked. It was a rare occasion it was just the planet leaders and their children so they took the time to enjoy it.
"When are they getting married?" Vinet asked softly to her only family and Selenity let out a content sigh spying her daughter laughing at something Endymion said.
"Once his father dies. He is incredibly protective of her… doesn't even want her on the same planet with his hateful father," Selenity breathed into her glass and Vinet beamed at her sister.
"Oh I sincerely hope you are confirming their betrothal… poor Marlina has him in her sights and Serenity has even encouraged her towards him," Martia hissed with a bit of annoyance at her daughter having heard her prattle for days about the handsome young Prince.
"They are betrothed aren't they?" Amite, the Queen of Mercury asked approaching them and Selenity smiled at her daughter adoringly.
"Yes. They signed the paperwork today. I have never seen her so happy as when her father gave it to her," she gushed and the three women turned to their dear friend and they all shared a smile of affection. Affection that only a mother knowing their child was going to have an excellent future could share. "It is supposed to be a secret though…" Selenity breathed with a soft shrug and the three women turned to the young Princess and Prince who were now at least talking with other guests.
"They don't hide it very well do they?" Vinet snapped with a smile and Selenity let out a soft giggle with a shake of her head. "Marlina should catch on quick…"
"Oh you would think… Look she is interrupting them as we speak," Martia hissed taking another long drink of her wine in order to drown her laughter.
"I'd love to take a look at the proposal," Amite piped up with a smile and the Queen of the Moon looked at her logical friend with a small smile.
"I'm sure she would appreciate that. All of your daughters were a stipulation in the proposal," she mused and Martia's eyes lit up.
"Reilie is in love with one of the Prince's guards… oh this is excellent news," she cooed suddenly and Amite let out a breath with a small glance at her daughter.
"Mine is as well… she is a terrible liar."
"I feel I must apologize… somehow I believe my daughter's influence is to blame for the corruption of your own children," Selenity expressed suddenly and Vinet let out a laugh.
"Please… give credit where credit is due. Minet could have stopped it. Personally… The news of Serenity's happiness only brings happiness for all of our beloved daughters… This is the beginning of the best my dears," she cooed with love as she spied her daughter across the room, diligent as ever near her princess.
"Do you think we could get grandchildren out of this?" Martia inquired suddenly and all four women burst into laughter.
"Princess Jara, Prince Agran… how is marriage treating you?" Serenity greeted amicably as she approached the young couple.
"Much better than I thought it would," Jara joked and Agran smirked, her hand tucked securely in his arm as she leaned into him.
"Nice, my love," he teased gently kissing her fingertips. Jara glanced up at him and her eyes twinkled with unending affection.
"It's like living a grand dream you never have to wake up from," she breathed suddenly and Agran grinned at her.
"Much better," he approved and Serenity smiled at them.
"That's quite a beautiful picture," Serenity mused and Jara glanced at the Moon Princess with affection.
"Still hating on marriage Serenity?" She teased and the Princess shrugged her shoulders delicately, taking a sip from her glass of wine.
"You do know Marlina is trying to whisk Endymion into an alcove and have her way with him correct?" A voice suddenly said to her left and Serenity's eyes widened with surprise. Her gaze immediately went to that direction and Alexander smirked at the Princess knowingly. "It won't take very long… she doesn't know much, believe me I know," he finished and Serenity turned to the Prince of Mercury with great amusement.
"Alexander," she spat and the twin of her beloved warrior shrugged easily. "Do you still pine for her?" She questioned and Jara and Agran leaned in close with curiosity.
"Pining isn't exactly accurate when I've logically just accepted a truth. She is it for me, she is young and one day will come to the same realization. It's like accepting the fact that you have a disease… you can't get rid of it, might as well enjoy it," he mused and Serenity couldn't stop the laugh that spilled from her lips.
"That must be why Serenity hates marriage so, Alexander you should be ashamed!" Jara scolded and Serenity shook her head, catching out of the corner of her eye Reilie dragging her sister away from Endymion.
"Oh hush. She knows it. I know it. No one will love her like I will… whenever I decide to actually start loving her," Alexander mused thoughtfully and Jara let out a breath.
"This is why I married out of our solar system," she mumbled lovingly to her husband.
"Perhaps you should have held out… Endymion seems like quite the catch," Agran teased and Jara smirked at her beloved.
"Yes, doesn't he cousin?" Alexander questioned glancing at Serenity and the Moon Princess sucked in a deep tolerating breath.
"We are not cousins," Serenity corrected and Alexander smirked, wrapping an arm around her shoulders affectionately.
"Yes, but me saying we are for years has prevented our pairing… and hasn't that been nice?" He questioned and she smiled leaning into him.
"Indeed it has cousin," she added and he smiled at her.
"I am very proud of you Serenity," he said quietly and Serenity glanced up at him with a small smile. "I am honored to be a part of your Alliance and a future monarch beside you," he finished and she heard a chorus of here here from Jara and Agran beside her.
"Do you think I'd be a good Queen?" Serenity suddenly questioned and Alexander let out a laugh, Jara joining in as well.
"I do not think good is a word I would label you with Princess," Agran began and she glanced his way. "You are the main reason our worlds have a treaty… and the culprit behind my beloved and I's meeting. You have a gift and a passion for peace I have never encountered, it is quite stunning," he finished and Serenity felt her cheeks pinken.
"You are the standard our parents force us to live up too," Alexander smirked and Serenity pinched him playfully.
"Yes, if you could screw up a few times… that would help us out a bit," Jara sighed and Serenity let a laugh escape her lips.
Endymion walked slowly towards his chambers. He was never more thankful to leave a dinner and reception in his life. Marlina of Mar's constant advances were almost suffocating. Not to mention she had to be at least a good ten years his junior. That made him shiver with a bit of disgust. He remembered distinctly Mars look of pity towards him as her sister giggled and grasped to his arm suggestively. The only good thing about it had been the almost jealous look Serenity had shot towards the small monarch. That brought a smile to his lips. Little minx was trespassing on her property, of course Serenity looked a bit peeved. He rubbed a finger across his chin and couldn't stop the smile that overtook his tiers. She was his property. He pushed open the doors to his chamber then they shut immediately on their own accord. He spun around to have arms wrap around him and a delicious body he was more than willing to accept jump into his arms.
"Miss me?" She breathed, her eyes alive with mischief as she bit her bottom lip teasingly. His arms wrapped tightly around her as he carried her though the room towards his chambers.
"Always," he whispered and she let out a giggle and wrapped her arms tightly around him. Her eyes caught his and he grinned pinning her against one of his walls and she sucked in a deep breath, exhilarated at being in his arms once more.
"I missed you," she responded, her fingers grazing across his cheek and he smirked and dove for her lips, pressing her into the wall and she moaned at the interaction. Her fingers deftly went between them towards his tunic buttons and he grinned supporting her as his lips left hers to trail down her neck.
"What will you do with me for three whole nights Seren?" He breathed down her collarbone and she shivered as she quickly rid him of his tunic. His exposed chest brought a smile to her lips and he pulled her from the wall and tossed her on the bed. She let out a laugh as he crawled over her, pulling up her gown with him till he rid her of it. Their eyes met once more as he covered her and she grinned cupping his face in her fingers.
"Probably watch Marlina make you squirm as she begs me for your hand in marriage," she breathed and he grinned at her pulling one of her hands from his face to kiss the palm teasingly.
"I believe my hand is already spoken for Princess," he breathed over her mouth before he captured it. She returned the kiss with equal ardor as her body arched up towards him. His lips pulled away and her fingers traced down his cheek as there lips neared one another's.
"Oh so you did not cancel your other betrothal?" She questioned with a raised eyebrow and Endymion smirked down at her.
"Ah yes… Beryl. Seems my father enjoyed striking that deal," Endymion mused as he sat before her. Her face shifted immediately and she got to her knees before him, taking his face into her hands.
"But you canceled it?" She questioned a bit nervously and he smiled adoringly at her.
"Yes my love. With much pleasure," he grinned, sliding his hands around her waist and Serenity let out a breath.
"You are mine. No one else can have you," she smiled, her eyes alive and he grinned rubbing his nose gently against her own. "At least not until I get my treaty," she breathed and he chuckled and rolled her over and her laughter filled his room. Just the way he liked it.
Endymion rolled over, his arm automatically searching for his goddess' warm figure. When he came upon cool sheets one eye popped open with annoyance.
"Good Morning Sire," Kunzite's voice entered into his head and Endymion huffed burying his face back into his pillow. "She left only an hour ago," he continued and Endymion raised his head to look at his guard with surprise. Kunzite grinned handing him a folded note. Immediately Endymion sat up taking it from him to read its contents.
How you have ruined me young Prince.
My apologies for my early departure.
I did not enjoy leaving if that gives you any satisfaction.
Your Seren
Endymion let out a breath and a smile spread across his tiers.
"Oh much," he breathed than threw off the covers to start the day.
Serenity held Hotaru's hands sweetly in her own as she bowed a farewell to her. The one on one sessions with each monarch was by far her favorite part of this conference. She watched the young Princess depart and looked at her advisor with a smile.
"The Prince of Earth is waiting for an audience with you your highness," Artemis smiled and Serenity's features lit up.
"Is he?" She questioned and than a frame appeared around the corner stepping onto the grand balcony overlooking the Lunarian gardens.
"Oh most anxiously," he smirked and Serenity walked quickly into his arms.
"Good morning my love," she breathed against his chin and Endymion grinned wrapping his arms around her possessively. "What would you like to discuss?" She asked with a raised eyebrow and Endymion looked over her shoulder and a thoughtful expression came to his features.
"Well, I already know how many children we are going to have…" He mused and she smiled adoringly, burying her face in his neck. "I actually do need to talk to you about something important," he said suddenly and Artemis stilled, his face going expressionless as Serenity pulled away to look at him.
"Of course. Anything," she smiled taking his hand and leading him to sit down with her. He settled beside her and smiled lovingly upon her. "Disarmament? Land? Magical powers?" She questioned amused and he grinned gently taking a hand to cup her cheek.
"We may have done all the galactic regulations and what not but on my planet it is run a bit differently and I am afraid I never asked you properly," he breathed and Serenity looked at him with confusion.
"Asked me properly what?" She stuttered and than blinked as he placed a small box in her lap. "Gifts? Already? I thought gifts were only given when a husband was in trouble," she mused with a smile as she picked the box up and flipped it open.
"No. Gifts are given all the time my love as a sign of affection. I may have to retrain your thinking," he smirked and she looked at the box with confusion. She tilted it up and read the small inscription on top.
"To my Seren. My forever conquest," she whispered than stared at the large two caret stone shining in front of her.
"This is an engagement ring. A custom on my world… proof that I am yours and you are mine," he breathed gently as he removed the ring from the box and gently slid it onto her finger. "Yet, you may only keep this after you answer a few questions…" He began and Serenity raised a perfect eyebrow at him.
"If I must," she responded as she turned her frame towards him, giving him her full attention.
"Why are you marrying me?" He questioned suddenly and her eyes widened in shock at his audacity. "Is it… for our guardians?" He continued looking at her gently and her lips parted a bit shocked at that. He smirked a bit at her as his fingers adjusted the shimmering stone on her perfect digits. "Is it… for a treaty?" He breathed, somewhat afraid to look up into her eyes. Her lips pressed together and her brow furrowed a bit in anger at that. He smirked feeling her emotions assault him and he glanced up at her. "How about for the sex?" He finished and a blush immediately spread to her pale cheeks and she let out a laugh.
"Oh you have caught me," she giggled and he smiled adoringly at her, gently tugging on her hand to pull her gaze back to him.
"Tell me," he asked quietly and Serenity was a bit struck at his vulnerability.
"Honestly?" She whispered and his tiers curved upwards.
"I hope all of our days we are nothing but honest with one another," he confessed and she smiled, gently letting her hand cup his cheek.
"Because you are the first person I wish to speak to when I wake… and the last I want to when I sleep," she began as she shifted closer to him. "I feel different when I am with you… free, secure… wanted," she whispered and his arms possessively pulled her into his lap at that last word, his lips aching to tell her how badly he wanted her. "Wanted for me and not my crown or beauty. You are my best friend," she smiled, her eyes glittering up at him and Endymion was stunned speechless. She grinned at him and pressed her forehead against his. "Are those answers sufficient my love?" She cooed and he gripped her possessively.
"More than I could have ever hoped for," he breathed quietly into her ear and she closed her eyes in happiness. "Will you be my Queen, Serenity?" He asked and Serenity suddenly stiffened a bit. Endymion blinked and moved her to sit beside him as her eyes focused once more on the ring. A few seconds passed and Endymion leaned his forehead against hers to get her attention. "Have I rendered you speechless or have you suddenly changed your mind?" He questioned and Serenity glanced at him and he caught the tears in her eyes.
"I just…" She began than stopped. "Of course I am yours… the word Queen just still throws me for a bit," she breathed and he smirked, relief washing over him that all she was worried about was becoming a queen… not at becoming his wife.
"I thought we covered this," he grinned. "When a Princess gets married her title usually changes to Queen. And when we marry… you will become Queen of Earth," he breathed, gently putting his hand over hers. Serenity let out a deep breath and a small smile tugged at her lips.
"I knew I'd have to take an active role in your Kingship but I did not ever think it would be such a close one…" She breathed and he smirked and gently kissed her forehead.
"It would be nice before we married if you believed I'd be a good King," he mumbled and she let out a laugh and threw her arms around him.
"Oh Endy, I…" She began when suddenly a loud voice cleared his throat.
"My apologies. Princess Marlina," he announced and Endymion and Serenity separated immediately. Serenity stood, clasping her hands together in front of her as the young Martian Princess entered in a flurry.
"Oh Serenity! I need your man-catching advice!" She cried dramatically and Endymion cringed and stood. Marlina saw him and eeped with embarrassment.
"That sounds serious," Serenity stated calmly and Marlina began to turn bright red.
"We can finish our discussion later your majesty," Endymion mumbled with a bow and Serenity curtsied.
"Thank you Prince Endymion," she responded elegantly and he quietly left, leaving Marlina to gush and rant about her puppy love to Serenity.
Moonlight shimmered through the high glass windows of her room and she shifted in her silk sheets, sleep knocking upon her senses. Her bedroom door creaked open and Serenity's eyes flitted open into slits to spy the intruder. Worry was far from her mind knowing that whoever was entering had to pass through four extremely powerful women to ever step near her door. She let out a breath and shifted her body over out of the middle of the bed. Steps made there way towards her than weight entered her bed before a pillow suddenly smacked into her frame. She gasped, eyes opening in laughter, as she turned annoyed to the man who sat before her.
"Nice," he snapped at her and she couldn't help the giggles that spilled from her lips as she picked up the pillow he had thrown at her. His frustration was evident but she couldn't miss the hint of amusement that flittered through him. He turned from her to lay on the bed, his back to her as he tried to get some sleep. It was hard to sleep in his own room since someone had given his guards permission to let a certain Mar's princess through. He still remembered Kunzite's smirk as he burst out of his room, Marlina sitting in his bed hopeful. He knew immediately Serenity was behind it and if she wanted to do it than he would play her game and steal her bed since she stole his. He felt her arms wrap around him as she cuddled up to him.
"Aw… did you have a little visitor?" She asked sweetly and he grinned and pulled away from her to smack her with his pillow. She let out a laugh and returned the hit. Endymion groaned falling back into the confines of Serenity's bed.
"I am on to your big scheme Serenity," he breathed as she leaned over him, her hair falling around him.
"I am sorry darling. But… technically I am not yours until your father is dead. I cannot deny other young Princesses from you during that time. Who knows how long it will be till your father's death?" She teased, her eyes alight as she bit her bottom lip knowing it drove him crazy.
"Do you wish to play this game? I can go back to my chambers," he grinned and Serenity sat up, her eyes full of challenge and mirth.
"Indeed you could… now would be the time for last flings darling," her voice was low and full of seduction and it sent a shiver up his spine. Slowly he grabbed her hand, bringing her fingers to his lips and he kissed them tenderly, her ring shining in the dim moonlight that bounced off the planets surface.
"No thank you Seren… I've already made my bed and I believe you are the only one allowed in it," his voice was husky and her body gravitated towards it, pressing against him intimately as her fingers clutched to his skin.
"Has it hit you yet… that we are doing this insane venture together just because we let our emotions get the best of us?" She breathed across his collarbone before her lips tasted his skin.
"You may be the universe's most unromantic woman Seren…" Endymion mused and she pulled away, laughter rippling through her. "Though perhaps we are making progress since you did not refer to me as your 'weakness'," his voice growled playfully as his fingers dug possessively into her sides, pulling her on top of him. Her hair fell around them and he was struck for a moment by the sheer beauty of the woman who sat atop him. He was such a lucky bastard…
"Give me time… now that I have chosen this path I intend to make it my life's goal to…" her voice trailed off as her lips sweetly kissed at his neck, moving up his chin to his lips. "Give you the best possible life ever," her lips hovered over his, her eyes tempting him sweetly and he swallowed using all of his self-control not to flip her over and put an end to her teasing. "Once we are married of course, this is just a taste of things to come…" she smirked brightly, her lips descending on his sweetly and chastely.
"Shall I have my father killed tomorrow then?" He teased and her eyes lit up a bit as she rolled off of him and began to snuggle into his side.
"And have you bring that guilt into our marriage bed? No. We shall wait," Serenity said with a raised eyebrow, a bit of excitement in her voice and she felt his chuckle rumble through him.
"Trust me do you love?" He teased and she grinned lying next to him and he shifted her letting her snuggle into his side. He heard her sigh and knew their teasing would end soon as sleep consumed her. She had a rough week and he was proud of her but she had without a doubt not had much sleep. That had been mostly his fault. Now that he had her he wasn't going to sacrifice a night beside her. He grinned as he felt her breath settle. "You know I am going to have to sleep here for the remainder of my stay…" He breathed into her hair and he heard her let out a content sigh as sleep called her.
"Perhaps that was my evil plan…" She mumbled out and Endymion smirked, pressing his lips lovingly to her forehead. "Goodnight Endy," she breathed shifting against him and Endymion smirked curling next to her.
"Goodnight Seren."
"This is new," Marlina spat as she entered into the enclosed arena. Artemis motioned for her to take a seat in the theatre and she quickly did so among the other young monarchs.
"Are we to learn hand to hand combat cousin dear?" Alexander questioned with a smirk of excitement as Serenity entered into the arena.
"Not today cousin but I can add it to your learning plan if you so wish," Serenity smiled, Venus and Mercury flanking her sides.
"I can happily teach you brother," Mercury smiled, winking at him and Alexander smirked.
"I bet you would enjoy that greatly sister," he snapped and she smiled turning away from him.
"Thank you for joining me," Serenity smiled addressing them, her eyes flickering to each of them and then landing on Endymion last. "At this conference since there are no other worlds but our own I felt it time we discuss some secrets of mine," Serenity began, clasping her hands behind her back and Endymion's eyes widened, a small smile coming to his lips wondering exactly what secret she was talking about.
"You have secrets dear Serenity?" Marlina smiled, excitement in her voice.
"Today I will be teaching you how to secure treaties," Serenity confessed and Endymion smirked with a shake of his head.
Chicken, he shot at her and she ignored him.
"You are going to teach us your ways?" Jara questioned with a bit of excitement and Serenity let out a nervous breath.
"I may not have much to teach you but learning to be at peace with other worlds, if I teach you nothing else, will be the most important thing I could ever pass on to you," Serenity began and the young monarch settled in, their attention rapt upon their new tutor. "In order to strike a treaty with another world, monarch or culture you must first know why you are seeking a treaty. It is not just about peace. People matter. From the biggest to the smallest each culture has ways we can understand and appreciate. Each culture wants you to understand and appreciate them. They want your respect. Peace is something we can work to attain because we are not a people who seek to conquer and own. Treaties protect what we do own by also letting them protect what they own as well," Serenity began easily. "When I was seven my father took me with him on a diplomatic mission to Uranus. At the time Uranus was on the verge of civil war. I remember my guardian Lunar objecting with my attendance since the planet was unstable politically," Serenity remembered, her eyes engaging as each young monarch hung on every word. "Yet, my parents choose this as my first experience for a reason: they wanted me to see what was worth fighting for. Watching my father help unite the two broken governments of Uranus was thrilling. Peace and creating an environment where people had a chance to grow and thrive was exciting!" Serenity cooed, the genuine pleasure of that on her features. "I came home ready immediately to get to work. I met in this very amphitheater and my guardians and I began a new type of training: to become a diplomat. You are all diplomats and the moment we forget that and hide behind our crowns that is where the evil can creep in and suggest to us that we might be more important than another or we deserve something we do not… we have to fight those lies and protect our people from them as well. Are you ready to get started?" Serenity questioned with a small smile.
"Yes," Agran agreed quickly and Serenity smirked as a few others chimed in as well.
"Let's begin."
They sat stunned for a moment.
"I'm finished," Serenity said gently, tilting her head to the side in wonder at her audience. None had moved and she had stopped talking at least two minutes ago. Serenity glanced to her left to see Venus and Lunar beaming at her then she looked back to the young monarch.
Alexander was the first to stand. He straightened his shirt then walked directly to her. Serenity blinked when he took her face in his hands.
"Words cannot begin to tell you how proud I am to be a King along side you," he said strongly and gently kissed her forehead. "Adore you cousin," he whispered and released her walking towards the exit. Marlina stared forward still a bit stunned.
"Marlina, are you all right?" Jara questioned beside her and Marlina gulped a bit, her back straightening.
"Um… Yes," she responded a bit shakily and she stood. Serenity's words had hit her hard. Her passion for peace was shocking and she was humbled and a bit truly intimidated by the woman who stood before them. She stepped up to Serenity and bowed her head. "My Queen," she whispered then turned quickly and left. Serenity blinked shocked.
"A true title for you Princess," Agran smiled, his wife on his arm. "Thank you. I am delighted to listen under your tutelage once more tomorrow," he smiled with a nod and one by one they all thanked her and left.
"That went well," Lunar grinned and Serenity let out a deep breath. Her eyes flickered to Endymion who had not moved from his seat in the theatre.
"What do you think my love? Did I bore them to death and they are only being polite because they know I have the power to blow up their planet?" She questioned jovially and Venus pinched her.
"Not even funny Serenity," she snapped as she, Mercury and Lunar headed towards the door. Slowly Endymion stood, making his way towards her. She smiled waiting patiently for him when suddenly she noticed his features set in a bit of a frown.
"My love, are you all right?" She worried, her eyes wrinkling in concern. He stepped close to her, his hand gently sliding to cup her cheek as the other wrapped around her back pulling her securely into his arms. His eyes latched onto hers with intensity and she held her breath.
"I chose you greedily," he confessed and her eyebrows rose in question. "I wanted you for myself. Wanted to conquer you and keep you forever," his voice was tight with emotion and she gripped onto him, her fingers wrapping around his wrist as the other held onto his tunic. Her eyes lowered and he shook his head, tilting her face so her eyes once more met his own. "How my greed has blessed my kingdom," he whispered. "Serenity, your passion for peace and people humbles me. Ever since I met you, I have wanted to be a better king. Wanted to be a man you could respect," he choked out and her fingers tightened on him. "You are a Queen I would follow to the ends of the galaxy. You are my Queen," he confessed and she pushed forward, her lips immediately capturing his and he gathered her securely into his arms.
Their lips greedily devoured the others until he slowly pulled away. She sucked in a shattering breath, leaning her forehead against his as a smile overtook her features.
"So, you liked my lecture then?" She questioned and she felt his laughter rumble in his chest before it escaped his lips. He turned her towards the doors, his arm still secure around her.
"Yes, and I am quite intrigued to see what you speak about tomorrow," he mused kissing her head and she leaned into him contently.
She entered the moon garden with purpose and her steps faltered when she spied the frame sitting on one of the benches.
"Marlina, there you are," Mars said stopping before her. "I have been looking for you. I did not see you at breakfast," Mars informed raising an eyebrow at her and Marlina narrowed her eyes curiously at her older sister.
"Why would you come looking for me?" She questioned and Mars blinked.
"Why would I not look for my own sister?" She offered and Marlina leaned forward. "Are you all right?" Mars questioned and Marlina shook her head.
"No. I am a terrible person aren't I Reilie?" She asked quietly.
"Terrible is a little harsh," Mars grinned then her grin melted when she saw tears begin to fill her sisters eyes. "Marlina…"
"I think it's time for me to grow up," Marlina breathed and stood, straightening her back. She took two steps back towards the palace and stood before her sister. Reilie was a good three inches taller than her so she stood on her tip toes and kissed her sisters cheek. "I love you," she breathed then turned heading towards the door. Mars stood stunned for a moment. She spun quickly and followed after her sister, throwing her arms around her back and leaning against her. Marlina sucked in a deep breath and stopped letting her sister hug her. "Ok you can hug me for like another minute or so then I'm going to start getting sick… one step at a time sister," Marlina hissed and Mars let out a laugh leaning her head against her sister.
"You are not terrible. You will be great. I believe in you," Mars breathed into her ear and Marlina closed her eyes, letting out a breath as a tear trickled down her cheek. They stayed there in silence a few moments more until Marlina began walking once more.
"OK moment is over," she breathed and Mars shook her head with a giant grin. "Ugh let go," Marlina whined trying to make it to the door with her sister's dead weight upon her. "I am going to tell Jedite all of your weird habits if you don't let go," she spat and Mars let out a laugh.
"You don't know any of my weird habits," she called out and Marlina grinned at her.
"I'll start making stuff up," she spat and Mars eyes widened and she smirked as Marlina took off and she ran after her.
Serenity walked before them once more, their eyes rapt with attention as she continued her final lecture. She had surprised herself with how easy it was to speak on these subjects but she imagined having lived it for most of her life, just speaking what she knew shouldn't come that hard.
"I love peace and have made it my life's mission but I've also made it a bit fun for me. To not trivialize my mission yet still keep me on track I saw each treaty as a game, a riddle worth solving and celebrating it succeeding," Serenity confessed and Endymion smirked.
"I believe you call them conquests dear," he interrupted and she shot him a look.
"More or less," she admitted and Alexander chuckled, a few other monarchs exchanging amusing glances.
"My favorite method in achieving my conquests is connection. Researching what they care about and what matters to them and finding a common ground with that. Letting them know that what they value and believe in is worth protecting because it is," Serenity smiled, clasping her hands gently before her.
"Such a ladylike manor Serenity…" Alexander teased and Serenity lifted her chin.
"I am a lady," she spat back and Marlina leaned forward curiously.
"Are there other methods besides just talking?" She questioned innocently and Endymion smirked, his eyes never leaving Serenity's frame and she refused to look at him.
"Depends on the person you are trying to strike a treaty with. All of mine have been achieved through talking except one," Serenity admitted with a smug smirk in Endymion's direction.
"One?" Jara questioned with a raised eyebrow.
"It is not a method I would advise. It comes with consequences," Serenity admitted casually moving towards the next topic as she glanced at her notes.
"Marriage is not a consequence my love," Endymion teased and a small blush rose to Serenity's cheeks as she glanced up at him.
"We shall see," Serenity mused and Marlina blinked glancing at her then back at the grinning Endymion whose eyes seemed to be devouring the Moon Princess. Suddenly she choked.
"Oh my gosh!" Marlina spat and a few chuckles broke into the room. She turned angry eyes on the Moon Princess whose blush seemed to deepen and she took a step back. "You threw me at him! What is wrong with you Serenity?" She spat angrily at her.
Serenity bowed her head in apology.
"My deepest apologies Marlina," she breathed. "I was sworn to secrecy about the Prince's betrothal. Plus I must confess it amused me greatly seeing him ward you off knowing his affections were elsewhere," Serenity admitted and Marlina shook her head.
"He isn't even your type," Alexander grinned, highly amused at the situation and Marlina shot the Mercurian Prince a knowing look.
"Of course he isn't," she hissed and Alexander smirked holding her gaze. "But she encouraged me and one does not ignore suggestions from the Princess of the fricken Moon!" She growled and Serenity out right laughed. All quickly turned to her in surprise. Her laughing died down as Endymion approached her. She glanced at him then her blush returned as she looked back at Marlina.
"I am afraid I am a poor secret keeper when it comes to myself. I did not want to keep this secret any longer," Serenity admitted and Endymion ran a hand across her stomach, easily pulling her into his embrace as he placed a kiss on her temple.
"Oh this is wonderful!" Jara cried out suddenly with excitement, her husband smiling as well.
"This explains much of the tension you two had on my planet," Hotaru breathed easily and Serenity laughed once more, Endymion grinning as well.
"How long have you been betrothed?" Agran grinned amused and Endymion smirked down at the Princess in his arms.
"Oh months…" he mused and Serenity gasped.
"We have not," she corrected. "It happened just three days ago," she admitted and Endymion smirked at the young monarch.
"I've been hers since day one," Endymion smiled, his thumb gently stroking her cheek and she melted happily against him.
"That is true," Serenity smiled, her eyes catching his.
"Oh cousin, we are so happy for you," Alexander smiled and Serenity glanced back at them and then gently pulled from the Prince of Earth's arms.
"Yes, well we won't be married for awhile," she admitted sadly and Endymion smiled understandingly at her. "We must wait until his father dies so until then let us not inform the rest of the galaxy shall we? I do win more treaties as an available prospect," Serenity said glancing up at them and she caught their understanding and a flicker of sadness from them for her.
"That is not true and I look forward to proving that wrong," Endymion snapped at her with amusement and she smiled.
"Can we not send Jedite and Mars to kill him?" Marlina questioned lazily and Mars grinned looking towards the Prince and Princess for approval.
"They really need to stop giving us that option, one day we will take it," Endymion spat and Serenity let out a breath.
"Indeed," she admitted.
Endymion made his way to her side and he smiled adoringly at her nervousness.
"It looks stunning," he encouraged and Serenity let her shoulders sag a bit as she spied the ballroom once more, the royal courts bustling before her as her Peace Committee drew to a close.
"That is because Lunar did so much of it," Serenity confessed and turned her eyes to him with a smile. "I think it went well. Do you think it went well?" She asked softly and Endymion took a step closer to her, gently cupping her face in his hands.
"Darling, it was amazing. I have never been more proud," he breathed and she blushed gently pulling from his touch.
"My aunt has told me we are terrible at hiding our affection for each other…" The Princess whispered and Endymion chuckled, catching the knowing glance of Queen Vinet and Queen Selenity across the room. He bent his head to them respectfully and they lifted their glasses.
"I thought we hid it very well for over nine months…" Endymion mused and
Serenity giggled glancing out once more at the bustling ballroom. He grinned watching her. He was well aware he had started to follow her around like a small lovesick puppy and he had not minded that in the least. He was amazed at how easy it was to incorporate her into his existence… and was soon realizing how hard it would now be to not see her each day.
"It makes me feel better that you will be as devastated to leave as I will be to watch you go," her voice brought him from his thoughts and he caught her eyes. His heart hurt as he saw small tears build up in her beautiful blue orbs. He sucked in a deep breath and opened his mouth to tell her exactly how devastated he would be… but instead he pushed those emotions aside. He didn't want to ruin this moment for her… Gently his fingertips took her hand in his and brought it to his lips. She turned, her bright crystal eyes taking him in as he kissed her hand sweetly.
"May I have this dance Princess Serenity?" He questioned and her lips curled upwards.
"How about this one and the next thousand or so?" She offered and he grinned pulling her towards the dance floor.
"Let's not leave any room for doubt where your affections lay…" He whispered pulling her tightly against him and she giggled, her fingers curling around his own as her arm wrapped around his shoulder.
Reilie let out a satisfied breath watching her Princess dance with her betrothed. A hand suddenly smacked her arm and she gasped alarmed, turning quickly to the offender.
"Marlina, don't you know I can set you on fire?!" She spat at her little sister and Marlina huffed angrily at her.
"You could have given me a heads up that he was hers… I must have looked like an idiot these last few days! I cannot believe the Princess played me so…" Marlina hissed coming close to her side and Reilie watched the horror slink across her little sister's face. "Oh geez… I even gushed to her about him. I'm going to be sick," she mumbled and Reilie wrapped an arm around her sister's shoulders and pulled her to her.
"Forgive her, this is the only thing she has ever taken for herself. If she didn't love him I am sure she would have given him to you," Reilie breathed and Marlina let out a sad laugh.
"Please, she was retaliating for me treating you so horridly our whole lives. Who would have thought she had a vengeful bone in her body?" Marlina huffed and Reilie looked thoughtful.
"You really think so?" She questioned and Marlina smirked at her.
"People adore you Reilie, that is why I hated you so much," she snapped and Reilie smiled at her affectionately. "Stop looking at me like that, it makes me feel like a good person," Marlina huffed and Reilie giggled.
"You are a good person," she snapped back at her and Marlina shrugged.
"Oh this is terrible… now I'm going to have to marry. There is no one else to sow wild oats with," Marlina whined and Reilie shook her head with amusement, happy she could actually have a conversation with her sister.
"You can have Jedite if you'd like," she offered and Marlina rolled her eyes spying the General beside her sister.
"No," Jedite snapped and Reilie smiled.
"But she is stunning and she is a Royal… she may even be able to give you children," Reilie tried and Jedite turned tolerating eyes onto his beloved.
"First, that is quite disgusting… and second I am trying to marry you off to him, I cannot marry him as well," Marlina huffed and Reilie looked at her sister alarmed.
"I cannot marry," Reilie informed her and Marlina gripped her skirts and sucked in a deep breath, spying the ballroom for another available man.
"We'll see about that," Marlina huffed and Reilie's eyes widened. "Guess it is back to Mercury… Alexander was my first after all and the man has skills," she shrugged with an affectionate wink and Reilie stared at her in horror.
"Marlina!" Reilie chastised and Marlina narrowed her eyes at her playfully.
"Really Kettle? Shall we have this conversation?" Marlina spat and Reilie pressed her lips together tightly. She watched her sister saunter off and she huffed.
"She's starting to grow on me," Jedite mumbled and Reilie glanced at her lover and than let out a breath.
"If she finds a way… I will do it," she breathed and Jedite turned to her, a smile coming to his face at her stunning violet eyes and how they looked at him with affection now instead of contempt.
"Finds a way to do what my love?" He questioned and Reilie sucked in a deep breath.
"Marry you," she responded soundly and Jedite felt his mouth go dry as his eyes slowly widened.
"You would marry me darling?" His voice almost shook and Reilie smiled adoringly at him than winked.
"Why not, it would be fun," she smiled taking his hand and pulling him towards the dance floor. He stumbled after her, his face finally catching up with the words she was saying and he beamed a smile at her.
"That princess better keep her word then," he snapped pulling her into his arms and Reilie let out a soft laugh.
Her deep violet eyes met his and he didn't turn away for an instance.
"Dance with me?" her voice was soft with a tiny edge of demanding and his lips quirked up a bit.
"Still upset Serenity stole your man?" Alexander smirked a bit at her, his posture perfect as he observed the ballroom before them.
"She pushed me at him. I was being impetuous and immature. Had some strange notion I had to sow my wild oats… He was the only viable option," Marlina breathed and Alexander glanced at her and for a moment she caught affection behind his pale blue eyes.
"Yes, well when are you done sowing…" he breathed stepping towards her, his breath tickling at her exposed neck and her eyes closed involuntarily. "Adulthood will look stunning on you," he teased and her hand shot out and twisted at his arm and he chuckled.
"Alex," she snapped and he shrugged easily and stepped away from her.
"Till later my love," he called over his shoulder and her lips curled upwards a bit on one side. Her arms crossed across her chest amused and her gaze suddenly caught Serenity and Endymion gliding across the floor, her laughter echoing through the room. She smiled at them then took in a deep breath. Maybe Adulthood would look good on her… she smirked, her eyes narrowing playfully as that thought danced around her head.
