-=- One year later -=-
The announcement had been met with silence. It had been a difficult year. Kunzite watched the form quietly in the high back chair as it remained still. Endymion had become King over the Earth Realms five short months ago when the castle had been attacked and his father had been murdered. It hadn't been a surprise. What had been a surprise was when the attackers turned and fell on their knees before him, swearing their allegiance. They had accepted their deaths gracefully for the crime they committed. Slowly Endymion's fingers rose to stroke his jaw as he stared out at the vast courtyard of roses before him. They were his favorites and since his reign they seemed to bloom more beautiful than he had ever imagined. She would have loved them… they were her favorite too.
"Your Highness," Kunzite's voice broke through his thoughts and Endymion didn't tare his gaze away.
"When will she be married?" He questioned and Kunzite let out a deep breath.
"Their ceremonial process has already begun. By the end of the Lunar Cycle in five standard Moon days," Immediately Endymion was on his feet, his shoes echoing off the old wood as he turned to face his Generals.
"And we are just finding out about this now?" He growled and Zoycite held out a letter to him.
"Queen Vinet believed you should know. It has only been in the works three weeks sire but it has been long enough to throw majority of the galaxy into distress," he filled in with a bowed head and Endymion ripped the letter from him. He ignored the first page that he knew was full of fluff and motherly advice and moved to the end, reading the words for himself. Prince Diamonde had been following her around the last few months and the minute he got a yes from her he started the wedding process. Well that was smart of him… marry her before she had the chance to change her mind. Disgust and bitterness marred his features as that crossed his mind. He should have done the same thing.
"They are re-locating her to Nemesis," Jedite whispered quietly, his head slightly down as his voice brought his prince out of his thoughts. "Her warriors will be disbanded back to their home worlds."
"The fool," he hissed angrily and immediately he tore from the room. Nephrite turned on his heel quickly following, the other three filing out as well.
"There is nothing you can do your Majesty," Nephrite tried weakly and Endymion felt rage well within him. Serenity was a sore spot. She had stolen from him… She had been the only woman he had ever loved, ever wanted. And he still loved her, still wanted her though she had closed the door completely upon him.
"She is endangering our galaxy," Endymion bit off turning to stop them in their tracks. "Her game is backfiring on her and she is now going to bring into our Alliance an unstable and destructible ally. I refuse to let her do so," Endymion's voice rose as he finished and he turned once more pushing oak doors open into their main console room.
"Is that your only reason sire?" Zoicite questioned and Endymion stilled, his back to them. They watched his muscles tense and prepared for the backlash.
"Do you dare question me?" His voice resonated in the room and the four Generals took a quiet step back. "She should be my wife! This should never have happened!" He roared and the generals turned away from him sadly. Their Prince's heart had grown cold over the last year. Though he had emerged as a great leader they all knew he could be, his personal life was a dark hole, a shell of what he use to be. Kunzite believed firmly he would have married Serenity if she had let him. But that was ages ago… time was different. They were both different and she was already promised to another man.
"Forgive me sire," Zoicite whispered mournfully and went silent. Silent was normally his nature now, as Endymion had suffered at his once open mouth. It was he who had hinted Serenity onto the prophecy… he who had destroyed his Prince's chance at happiness. His head bowed miserably as Endymion settled into the chair and pressed a few buttons. In a few moments the screen flickered to life and deep red eyes met his.
"Your Highness, you are a sight for sore eyes," King Fergal began and Endymion felt his shoulders relax. He wanted to respond how he was happy to see the Sun King as well but he didn't trust his words as anger still raged through him. "What may I do for you?" King Fergal inquired calmly and Endymion leaned forward seeing the weariness on the Sun King. His eyes looked dull and his face a bit worn.
"My King. I have received word about your daughters impending nuptials," he began and a weak smile tugged at Fergal's lips.
"I hope you are not calling with congratulations," Fergal replied and Endymion's lips had to lift a bit at that. He had always respected and admired King Fergal. He was a King worth looking up to and a great reason he had joined the Alliance. Obviously not the main but an important factor.
"Hardly. I must as a member of the Alliance protest this joining. Nemesis has been a long standing enemy with our world and I fear it will turn on you as it so easily has done to others," Endymion replied calmly yet Fergal could see the truth and worry in his eyes.
"I am afraid the issue is out of our hands Endymion. In Serenity's desperate search to not be a puppet to anyone I am afraid she has fallen into a huge trap she cannot escape. I do not ever believe it was her intention to let the conquest go so far… in fact I do not think she even pursued it but was pursued upon. Before any of us realized what was happening the process has begun and we find ourselves trapped at their mercy. My wife and Queen the ever optimist believes this might be the turning point of the galaxy. Among ourselves I must confess it is the beginning of the end," Fergal said steadily and Endymion felt his blood slightly boil and he could not tare his gaze away from the forlorn King.
"We will have to pull out of the Alliance King if this marriage goes through. I cannot risk my people or yours for that matter…" Endymion began quietly, and Fergal
immediately held up a hand. It had been long since Fergal had stopped being King of the Sun when his planet imploded.
"They are your people now Endymion. I trust you with them and believe soundly in your judgment," Fergal responded and Endymion looked at the king sadly. He could not imagine losing his people… could not imagine having them scattered across the galaxy.
"This Alliance is foolish. She must know that. We do not wish to pull out but must if this marriage goes though," Endymion sighed and Fergal could almost hear the pain in his voice at saying that. It had already cost him so much to be in the Alliance and to pull out only five months in… it would erase all the effort that was sacrificed.
"Of course," The Sun King replied with a regal bow. "I understand and pray all protection for you and your people," Endymion's dark eyes watched as Fergal reached for the comm unit button and Endymion leaned forward involuntarily his voice lowering.
"Does she even love him?" He breathed and Fergal glanced up and caught the almost tortured gaze of the young king.
"No. From the brief times I've even seen them together she seems more afraid of him than anything else," Fergal whispered and Endymion snorted and turned away.
"Why would she do this? I thought her intelligence would quickly spark the folly of this venture, especially since her own people lived on this planet. Nemesis has never been shy about their hatred for Earth," he hissed quietly and Fergal let out a breath and shook his head sadly towards his fellow monarch.
"I think she felt she had to… because she could not have what she really wanted," he mumbled and immediately the screen went blank as Endymion rose and left the room without another word. Fergal let out a breath and ended the call.
He felt the gentle rustling behind him and he sighed sadly.
"Another Alliance member pulling out?" His wife's voice sounded dull, lifeless and he turned miserably towards her, her pale features once shining spoke of stress and weariness.
"He still loves her," Fergal whispered quietly and Selenity nodded gently falling gracefully into a chair opposite him.
"I do not know how to fix this my love. I do not know how to help her. I hear her screaming for me in my dreams but I can never reach her…" Selenity whispered quietly and Fergal rose and knelt beside her.
"I hear it too but I do not think we are the ones who can save her," he whispered quietly and a tear trickled down his beloved's face.
"I should have told her," she whispered quietly and Fergal shook his head, his hand cradling his wife's head.
"It would not have mattered. Do not torture yourself. If he would have told her the truth she would have forgiven us all and taken him back in a heartbeat. Alas love is sometimes wasted on the young… This cannot end this way."
"What if the prophecy was wrong?" Selenity whispered glancing at him wearily and Fergal smiled sadly towards her and gently thumbed away a tear.
"Than he would not love her still," he breathed and she nodded, tears sliding down her cheeks.
She cringed inwardly as his voice rang in her ears once more.
"My Prince I was doing nothing," she whispered submissively and felt his fingers curl around her arm painfully as he barked an order for the male gardener to be dismissed. She sucked in a deep breath, her eyes threatening to fill with tears but her resolve would not let them come. "I am yours and yours alone," she reassured once more, her eyes closed quietly and she felt him press against her and knew it was meant to bring comfort but it made her skin crawl.
"They all look at you so. I fear they will steal you from me. You are mine Serenity," he whispered into her ear and she gulped, her eyes opening as she remembered when she had first met the charming Prince of Nemesis. It was at a Neptunian ball and he had swept her off her feet with his sincerity and gentleness. Her kind regard for him made him continue his advances until she found herself swept up in a whirlwind she could no longer stop. A treaty with Nemesis was a landmine but she had believed him when he promised eternal love for her… eternal peace for her Alliance if she would promise to be his forever. Fool. She cursed herself.
"Why do you not trust me?" She asked quietly, not wanting him to hear her distaste for him in her voice. He turned her to him; his grip lessoning and he gently cupped her face.
"My Darling… I trust you completely. It is everyone else that is a threat," he whispered, his eerie light blue eyes burning into hers before he bent down and claimed her lips roughly. The kiss softened and she went a bit limp in his arms as he sweetly supported her. "Come… we have wedding plans to attend to," he said cheerfully as he turned her back towards the grand Lunarian Palace. Her home. In ten days she would leave it for who knows how long and she would leave it alone. Diamonde had demanded she leave her warriors here and reluctantly she had agreed, though to be honest there relationship had never been the same over the last year. With a shuttered breath she glanced to her left and caught the gleaming blue and green orb that hung before her. Earth. She felt Diamonde's fingers tighten around her waist and she turned to him with a forced smile. "Our guests will be arriving tomorrow and my darling soon we will be together forever," his voice oozed with charm but Serenity had long since seen through it. He loved her. She knew he did but his love was so tainted she feared it bordered on obsession and she greatly feared she would never escape it.
His pacing would not stop. It would still when he swigged another gulp of amber liquid from his cup. Thoughts raced through his brain and he could hardly comprehend this.
"We have to draw up papers of dissolution," he whispered quietly and Zoicite nodded and turned to a computer console. Endymion stilled and stared out of the windows towards his home. "She has condemned us. Has ruined everything she worked for her entire life," he whispered quietly, almost painfully and Kunzite let out a breath and could take it no more. He motioned with his head to Nephlite and the star gazer locked the door trapping the five men in the room.
"Sire, we have to do something. Steal her from him. She is still in love with you sire. We know her and know she could only ever love you the rest of her days," Kunzite mumbled, taking valiant steps towards his King. Endymion turned to him and let the glass slip from his fingers onto a table.
"I am not caring about a foolish Princess's emotions Kunzite. I am caring about the future of my people and how she has so carelessly sentenced them to their deaths with her actions!" His voice rose an octave they had not heard in a long time and Kunzite stood his ground.
"She is afraid of him. King Fergal told you so," Kunzite whispered quietly and Endymion felt all of the air leave his lungs as the Sun King's words came back to him. "Minet has seen bruises upon her. She cannot even talk to another man without him yelling at her. His love for her has turned to obsession and she is almost his prisoner. Sire… she did not do this to you willingly."
"Did not willingly join in a betrothment with our most hated enemy?" Endymion questioned sarcastically and Nephlite let out a deep breath.
"Do you think she would willingly destroy the Alliance just to prove her hatred to you?" Kunzite finished and everyone stilled in the room. "That she would let some man hurt her and use her just to rub it in that you cannot have her?" Kunzite's voice was strong and full of anger at the situation. He had grown to adopt Serenity as his Princess. She was a woman worthy of his protection… especially since she owned his Prince's heart.
"She would never let that happen. She is stronger than anyone gives her credit for!" Endymion bellowed and Kunzite glanced up at him and Endymion stilled at the truth in his friend's eyes.
"Sire… I know we think that she turned on us all the way she did because of the prophecy, but I believe it had everything to do with you," Kunzite began quietly and his Prince turned on him, anger growing in his eyes. He didn't want to have this conversation. "She could not be your obligation. This prophecy to her proved that she was nothing more than a crown and a beauty to be won. The very thing she had worked her whole life not to be… You had even said yourself that you would have not pursued her if it had not been foretold as if she was some consolation for your effort," Kunzite finished. He sucked in a deep breath as he finally felt free of those words. Words he had wanted to yell at his Prince since that day. Endymion shook his head forcefully.
"That was not the intention of my words. She wasn't a thing to me… I loved her," Endymion argued and Kunzite took a step towards his Prince knowing he had to push this point. Knowing he had to bring his friend's demons to light.
"Did you ever tell her you loved her?" Kunzite asked and the room fell eerily silent. Jedite pressed his lips together painfully as his head fell, Nephlite feeling his Prince's anguish as well at that statement.
"She knew," Endymion breathed, tears clouding his vision as her image slammed into his brain from that day. The brokenness on her features as she had stared at him. Stared at him with eyes that pleaded for something from him… and when it didn't come he now understood what was in her eyes as she stared… a dying dream.
"Why did you not tell her that day? We all knew that was what she was asking… she wanted you to tell her she was more than a prophecy, that you had fallen in love with her and prophecy be damned!" Kunzite growled and Endymion gulped taking a step back from him.
"I should have not needed to tell her… she should have known that my only happiness was her. Yet, instead she chose to degrade me in front of her family over an aged piece of paper! How could she not have known I was hers?" He whispered his frame falling helplessly into a chair.
"When you live a life of pretend only few words will bring you out of it," Zoycite breathed and Endymion gulped a bit as the ache in his heart he had grown to ignore flared evilly back in his chest. His eyes closed painfully as truth settled hard on him like a giant stone on his heart. His pride had helped this. He had made her into what she was now. He had promised her everything yet never given the only piece of proof she needed… If he had… His throat went dry and his heart painfully constricted.
"That's why she came to me first after talking with Zoicite… than she heard me talk about duty. She wanted me to tell her it was more than a prophecy… If I…" His voice choked in his throat as the realization that three small words would have changed their entire destiny settled on him.
"Do not live in what ifs sire. This can be fixed, we cannot let our actions or lack of actions destroy our future," Kunzite said strongly as he reached a hand down and pulled his Prince back to his feet. Endymion pressed his lips together and cleared his head. Kunzite was right. He had a small window left to change something. If he let that escape him than he could wallow in pity the rest of his existence.
"Pack our bags. We have a wedding to crash," Endymion mumbled and the four generals nodded eagerly. "But first… Get me Princess Marlina," he ordered and Jedite nodded.
"She has just returned to Mars from her marriage to Prince Alexander," he informed and Endymion stilled, a small smirk falling to his lips at that sudden news. "They… eloped," Jedite filled in with a small grin.
"Well done Alexander," Endymion breathed than nodded again to Jedite to fulfill his order. A plan was beginning to form in his mind, a plan he needed desperately to succeed in. Millions of futures depended on it.
He stepped off the transport with purpose and two forms looked at him with great expectation.
"Your highness," Princess Marlina's voice was calm and sweet as she bowed her head to him.
"Forgive me if I have trespassed on your time," Endymion informed with a bow of his own and Marlina felt her lips quirk up as her eyes caught bright green behind him. Rat.
"I have no idea what you are speaking of," Marlina informed casually and Prince Alexander of Mercury smirked reaching out his hand to clasp Endymion's knowing it was an Earthen custom he would appreciate. Endymion grasped it firmly.
"He is talking about our secret marriage my darling. Try and keep up," Alexander grinned motioning the Prince forward.
"Brother, see if I tell you anymore secrets," Marlina hissed over her shoulder to Jedite and Jedite smirked a bit to himself.
"Forgive me sister," he mumbled and Kunzite shot his companion a look at their lack of formality. Jedite merely shrugged.
"I and very many others are happy you are here," Marlina said suddenly bringing them all back to the reason for his visit.
"It is good to see you friend," Alexander filled in, Marlina's fingers slipping into his own as they continued down the hall with purpose.
"Forgive me for being absent… I've…" Endymion began, the countless Alliance invitations he had been ignoring on his desk now flaring to his mind.
"No apology needed, we are just glad you are here now," Alexander cut him off and Endymion let out a breath.
"I hope that is so after they hear what I have to say," Endymion replied quietly and Marlina smirked a bit.
"Let's not waste time than and find out," she mused as they made their way through the red marbled palace. He followed silently as he went over in his head what he was about to do. Each moment as the words flowed through his mind he could see Serenity's smiling face. He shook it away and sucked in a steadying breath when suddenly a hand grabbed onto his arm making him stop.
"She is a great reason to do this King Endymion. Do not shake her so easily from your thoughts," Marlina whispered quietly and Endymion looked at her sadly.
"I am afraid she is never out of my thoughts," he confessed and Marlina smiled approvingly than glanced to her left. He followed her gaze to two large ornate doors that were opening before them. Beyond it he saw a large oval table filled with the monarch of the galaxy. Chairs scraped against the floor as each of them rose to stand, quietly awaiting his arrival. He gulped and Marlina squeezed his arm once more reassuringly, Alexander smiling at him encouragingly as he took Marlina's other hand leading her to their spot at the table between their parents.
"Fellow Alliance Member King Endymion of Earth," he heard announced and Endymion straitened. He had never been nervous before but as he walked forward he realized it wasn't because he was doing the right thing that made him nervous but… he was preserving someone's dream and with that he would stop at nothing to make sure Serenity's legacy did not end with her marriage.
"Greetings. Thank you all for meeting me here on such short notice," he began and everyone silently sat back down before him. "It has been a bit of a difficult year on Earth and as the Princess of the Moon's marriage approaches in a few days I imagine it has been a bit difficult for you as well these past months," he breathed, the weariness of the last year evident on his features. He saw some of that weariness around the table as well as understanding. "Serenity worked her whole life to assure we were brought together under this Alliance yet I know like me many of you are breaking from that Alliance in order to preserve our people from a new one she is forming. I do not need to speak to you about the dangers of Nemesis but I can assure you I will not be joining anytime soon with the unstable planet," he stated and noticed many around the table nod. "Yet, by saying that I am pulling out of an Alliance I sacrificed greatly to be a part of. An Alliance I believe in whole-heartedly and know you do as well. An Alliance that was both Queen Selenity and her daughter's dream," he paused for a moment as that settled in on him. His fingers curled into a fist and he touched the table before him with it, the weight of those words falling heavily upon his shoulders. Her memory bounced before him of the hours spent talking of her beloved Alliance. He pressed his lips together ruefully. "She loved you all so deeply. Her every move was always with the Alliance in mind, to protect you… to protect our worlds. I cannot let her dream to protect us die," he announced glancing up at their faces. "I cannot let our friendships be torn apart by this one lapse of judgment."
"What do you propose King Endymion?" Queen Vinet of Venus asked gently, her heart going out to him as the very evident effect of Serenity's marriage was ripping through him. She did not know how many around the table knew of their secret engagement or the terrible way it had been broken off… she had found out the day after when her sister had appeared on her world spilling the whole story amid a sea of broken tears for her daughter and the young Prince. But it had been no secret the two had favored each other… at each event it would become clearer how the two held each other in high regard. He was Serenity's favorite and she his.
"I propose we create a new Alliance. One sadly that will not include the Moon," he breathed and a few audible gasps filled the air. "If we separate ourselves from the alliance through marriage it will give us a footing for protection if or perhaps when Nemesis decides to turn on us," Endymion filled in and the Queen of Saturn let out a breath.
"Do you think it will?" Her voice was meek and Endymion nodded once.
"I fear this marriage is just the stepping stone to destroying our worlds. Nemesis and Earth have a lengthy history… the only thing my father and I ever agreed upon was that Nemesis was a threat that would stop at nothing to destroy what stood in it's way. Since it stands for death and destruction I will always stand in its way," he finished resolutely.
"But… if we form an Alliance without the Moon it will leave them vulnerable," Queen Martia breathed, tears gleaming in her eyes at the thought.
"Yes, unless…" Endymion began when suddenly a thought struck him and his eyes suddenly lit up.
"I am quite eager to hear your unless young King," a male voice said off to his left and Endymion turned and caught the bright red eyes of King Fergal of the Moon.
"Unless you strip Serenity of her crown," he announced with a small smile and Fergal raised a single eyebrow at him.
"You say that as if it is easy to disown our only heir," he replied tiredly.
"You are immortal," Endymion snarked and Fergal pressed his lips together amused. "I have a feeling that crown and the power that comes with it is all that Prince Diamonde is after. If we take that away he may retract his offer," he finished and whispers of hope started to swell around the room. Fergal let out a sad breath and stepped closer to the young man.
"That is a lovely idea King but I am afraid Diamonde is quite obsessed with my daughter. Taking her crown would only save her Kingdom, it would not save her," he breathed with a heavy heart and Endymion felt his heart deflate a bit and he nodded resolutely. Of course… it couldn't be that easy.
"I know it is a terrible thing to ask… but if you are willing I ask you to do it. Let us save the Kingdom and Alliance she fought so fiercely for if we cannot save her," he breathed and King Fergal pressed his lips together sadly.
Slowly the Queen of Mercury rose to her feet.
"King Endymion, if we create this new Alliance who will be its head if we are to expel the Kingdom, the Queen we serve and the Head of the Alliance Serenity?"
"You will have to choose a new leader. With so many able at this table that should not be a problem as I would join happily and follow any of you," Endymion replied with a respectful bow.
"I nominate Endymion, King of Earth as the head of the New Alliance," Princess Marlina spoke up suddenly and Endymion blinked.
"What? No," he hissed at her. "You aren't even allowed to vote."
"I am married now, my voice is now relevant," Marlina cooed with a wink and Martia turned to her daughter with surprise.
"Excuse me?" Martia snapped and Marlina grinned innocently.
"I second," King Fergal piped in and Endymion's eyes widened.
"You are not even in the New Alliance yet," Endymion snapped at him and Fergal smirked playfully.
"I third," The King of Jupiter said with a bow of his head. "From what I have heard of you young King… you and Serenity are from the same cloth and if we cannot have her, I would like the one she would choose herself."
A chorus of "here, here"s echoed around the room and Endymion stared at them in stunned silence and a bit of horror.
"I will join Alliance with the King of Earth," a soft voice said into the air and silence hit the room. Endymion immediately bowed his head as Queen Selenity approached him.
"Your majesty…" He began with a shake of his head and she smiled sweetly at him.
"If we do as you ask, may we join the New Alliance?" She asked with a sad smile and Endymion nodded sadly.
"I am so sorry to ask of it, but we cannot let her destroy what she worked so hard for," he breathed and the Queen reached out and took his hand and kissed the back of his knuckles.
"Let this be a seal between our two kingdoms," she whispered, her voice cracking. He grabbed her hand gently.
"If this works the way I pray it might, I will ask for a much more permanent seal," he breathed and Selenity smiled kindly.
"And we will give it happily," she said with a small bow as she stepped back from him to stand beside her husband.
"Shall we strike a new Alliance than?" Endymion asked and chairs scraped against marble as the Monarchs before him all rose to their feet.
"With you at our head, we shall," King Fergal nodded and Endymion nodded slowly.
"But what of Princess Serenity? If Diamonde does pull out of his engagement what will happen to her if we have stripped her of her crown and power?" Princess Hotaru asked quietly.
"I will give her a new one," Endymion said soundly and Hotaru bowed her head with a small smile. "She is a Queen worth following and a Queen I hope we desperately do not lose."
"We are behind you King Endymion, even if you wish to stop the impending marriage," the King of Mars suddenly announced and the room fell silent as all eyes fell on the young King. Endymion gulped a bit. Only in his wildest imaginations had the thought of actually stopping the marriage come into play.
"Even if it leads us to war?" Endymion asked quietly, his gaze falling to the table as the thought struck him how selfish it would be to lead them all to war just to get her back. If she would even take him back…
"It's been awhile but I'm pretty sure we can take whatever he throws at us. I am a descendant of the God of war," Princess Marlina grinned.
"I think I speak for all of us that we wish to not lose our beloved Princess," Princess Jara breathed from the other side of the table, sadness etched on her features at Serenity's impending future.
"Neither do I," Endymion mumbled. "I am afraid it is agony without her," he confessed and the inhabitants of the room looked upon their new leader with love and understanding.
"If I may be so bold my King, she poorly hid how much she loved you," Queen Vinet said sweetly and Endymion chuckled lightly.
"Was I just as obvious?" He asked and knowing smiles filled the room.
"Not to all of us," Princess Marlina hissed and her mother smiled warmly at her. Alexander smirked playfully at her and she smacked his arm.
"Oh for the… Please tell me you knew," Martia suddenly spat glancing at Queen Amite of Mercury and she smiled a bit guiltily.
"I drew up an excellent Alliance agreement for us," she confessed and Martia huffed, her husband gently wrapping an arm around her to keep her from attacking her daughter.
"I was not obvious to everyone and… for that I know I have caused her and I to suffer greatly," Endymion suddenly breathed and the entire room went silent once more. "I fear I must take blame for her actions," he confessed causing a few gasps to echo around the room. "She would have been mine had I not been so foolish. I could have protected her from all of this. She had always told me my pride would hurt me in the end. It is frustrating how right she always is," he said with a small gulp and Fergal gently grasped his shoulder.
"She gets that from me," Queen Selenity confessed gently and Endymion let out a sad laugh as others in the room let out a few giggles.
"She believed in you when none of us wanted to give you a chance. You were the first thing I had seen her fight for other than peace," King Fergal breathed and Endymion sucked in a steadying breath.
"Are you saying all of this so I will start a war to get her back?" He questioned and the Princess of Saturn smirked.
"Yes," she replied and chuckles filled the room.
"Shall we tell Diamonde and Serenity together than?" The Queen of Uranus asked and a half smile crept onto Endymion's lips.
"I can think of no greater way."
"We shall start work on the paperwork your highness," The Queen of Mercury announced as they all began to disperse and make arrangements.
Endymion let out a steadying breath. That had not gone exactly the way he planned but it still worked out the way he wished.
"You must love her very deeply," Marlina breathed. "To keep her dream alive like this," her small voice was at his side and as he glanced at her he could see the respect for him shinning off of her.
"I don't think I will ever love another."
"I do not think she will either," Marlina agreed and Endymion felt a hard pain in his heart at that.
"You choose extremely well you know," Endymion suddenly breathed motioning to the fiery Princess's new husband.
"He always owned me... I just finally admitted it to myself. Forgive me for chasing you so shamelessly," she said suddenly with great amusement and Endymion huffed, not remembering it in such a jovial way as she did.
"It was Serenity's fault entirely," he spat and Marlina smirked.
"Indeed it was," Marlina agreed.
"My King, we have details to discuss with you," Queen Amite of Mercury smiled.
"Of course."
"We shall set up a meeting in two days time from now, a day before the wedding. Will that work Endymion?" Fergal asked to his left and Endymion nodded
"It will be perfect. Will that be enough time to get your planets ready if an attack occurs?" He questioned across the room and caught nods and agreements. "Queen Selenity, may I borrow your advisor Artemis? I am afraid I will need some help if I am going to build a New Alliance in two days time," Endymion inquired and Selenity smiled with a nod.
"Anything you need King Endymion." Endymion nodded his thanks and turned back to Fergal.
"It would not be an Alliance without the Moon," he breathed and Fergal nodded with a sad smile.
"Thank you King. I am sorry for the consequences our actions had for you."
"My fault was laced in there as well my King," Endymion breathed and Fergal squeezed his arm again. "I should have told her she was my very existence. How much I adored her. I was foolish to think she would know after so long a game of playing cat and mouse," he breathed, his voice choking on his words.
"I will force her down the aisle next time if that will be any consolation," Fergal mused good-naturedly and Endymion smirked.
"I will hold you to that."
