Beryl and her forces struck the inner fortress of the Castle Terrain. She struck with a dark magical force that had been unseen in the land and unprepared for. Even the Sun Warriors had been unmatched by the sheer hatred that dwelled within Beryl's army. The Sun inhabitants who had not perished by her army had been poisoned by the very water they had used to drink each day. She had wiped out an entire race of people then quickly turned on her own. The Earthen Generals fought valiantly yet fell against a power even their own magic could not contain. Jealousy fueled by darkness. Beryl pillaged the castle looking for her prize but never found him. King Endymion had escaped her grasp once more and she knew exactly where she would find him.

Even though I had been an eyewitness, the chaos and tragedy of what befell that day still cannot contain what truly had happened. The Moon was on high alert, planets waiting in the wing to defend their baby member who had come under attack. The Senshi were ready for what was about to come through their portal and destroy it. Yet, no matter how much Artemis and I had trained them they were not prepared to defeat the men who had meant so much to them. Risen from the dead by evil the Earthen Generals stormed the castle of the Moon and one by one eliminated their loved ones. What happened after that cannot be recounted. None of us were there to see the fall of our beloved Princess and her Prince. Somehow on the way to her mother she had found him as had Beryl. When I found them I could only gather these thoughts… He must have died first. The wound in his chest was of Beryl's doing but I cannot imagine she had meant the blow for him. He was draped across Serenity's frame so I can only assume he had taken the blow for her. We could find traces of Serenity's magic around the wound and I knew it had been an attempt to save him. He must have died in her arms. Knowing my charge as I did and how fiercely she loved him I knew looking at her draped across him, his sword through her chest exactly what she had done. Weeping before them I could not even have blamed her for doing it. Than everything ended.

It would be a thousand years before any of us knew the outcome of the battle. In many ways we had lost the Battle of the Moon. It had taken the lives of the galaxy's protectors. It had dulled the light of a love so strong it had forged treaties where once before none could stand. The battle had destroyed an entire galaxy. All that was left in its wake were hollow empty planets that served as a reminder of what jealousy, greed and evil could destroy. Still, many in our party have no idea what they had lost. They have all been reborn in this time. They are just children now, teenagers who are rediscovering their bond to one another. In many ways they are freed from their past, a past of duty and protocol to a future Serenity had always wished for them. At current it is only the five of them. I can only hope the Outers were re-born as well. No doubt the Prince is here. We have yet to find him but I know just looking at my Princess that one day she will seek him out. One day they will find each other, their bond was too strong to be denied. In many ways it was their bond and a mother's love that even gave them this chance to start over. Though we had lost much in the battle, we had won. Queen Selenity had used the Silver Crystal to trap the evil and send us into the future on the only surviving planet. It was here she hoped we would live like we had always wished we could. It was here she hoped they would find one another again and this time have their fairy tale ending.

In this time my name is Luna and no doubt do to my failure to protect Serenity I am cursed in this life as a feline, a cat, my planet's native image. It was not due to my Queen I am punished as so but my blood. If we fail at our duty we are reborn as a cat, yet at least I am able to be at her side. I found this script a week ago and having read it, I felt it my duty to finish it. I am amazed how well it was preserved yet daily I am learning magic within me I possess so slowly it is no wonder this historical chronicle lives. If anything one day I know my charge will read it, she will know the truth and be able to finish the life she started so long ago. She will be Queen again. Even as this story ends it opens the door for a new one. For true great love stories… never die.

The door opened quickly and slammed unceremoniously as a petite blonde charged in. Red eyes snapped up to look at her young charge and if cats could smile she definitely would as she watched the ungraceful girl fall in a heap of exhaustion upon her bed.

"So much homework! Why can't I just be a Super Hero? Do super heroes need an education Luna? Isn't it enough that I have really cool powers?" Tsukino Usagi whined as she turned bright blue eyes upon her guardian.

"I am afraid not Usagi. You must get an education. The Princess of the Moon can't be an idiot," Luna supplied and Usagi's lower lip protruded sadly.

"But there are so many video games to play!" She whined when suddenly her eyes caught the large leather bond book that Luna was pushing closed with her nose. "What is that Luna?" She questioned sitting up on her pink bunny sheets.

"It's an old story Usagi. Something very special to me," Luna breathed, her eyes taking in the worn book.

"Is it a love story?!" Usagi squealed in delight and Luna glanced at her charge with a grin in her eyes.

"The best ever written," Luna supplied and Usagi's eyes glazed over dreamily.

"Will you let me read it?" Usagi asked happily and the cat jumped to her charge's bed, slowly climbing in her lap to rub lovingly against her.

"One day Usagi-chan. One day," Luna supplied and the blonde smiled happily and showered love on her small guardian. That was answer enough for her.
