Meanwhile back in Warfang, Flame and Cynder have been attending their usual therapy sessions every day as usual before they start their days off. At the moment, Flame was with his therapist, an old Electric dragoness named Cileah. They are discussing a few things regarding Flame's regret to not knowing anything about Ignitus before his death.

"I'm sure from what you've told me on why Ignitus left you and your mother, that he probably also wished that you never knew much about him, so you wouldn't worry about him while he was gone," said Clieah as she and Flame sat from across each other.

"I know, I'm pretty sure that was his plan. It's just, I mean, my dad was a complete enigma in terms of his personal life. Did he even have a personal life? I just don't know. What's bothering me is that I feel like I made his burden worse and he died without ever experience what it's like to have a normal life," Flame replied as he rubbed his head feeling sad.

The two remain silent.

"Ignitus understood what was required of him, but you making his burden worse is not the case. I don't think anyone who loved his family as much to exile himself from their lives just to protect them, saw them as burdens. If anything, he saw his family as a reason to keep going through his horrible burdens,"

"I just don't know, I just feel ashamed. Because my dad's dead and I don't know a single thing about him other then what others do know about him,"

Clieah pauses for a moment.

"Unfortunately that's all time we've got for the day, but Flame I want you to do two things for me. One I want you to understand that you were never a burden to him. And second, try to find something to help move on, your father now rests in peace, and I'm positive he wouldn't want his son torturing himself with grief of not knowing him," Clieah said in a sweet tone.

Flame thought for a moment and sighed in agreement.

"I guess you're right, thank you for another therapy session Clieah,"

"You are most welcome Flame,"

Flame then left the room, and outside the door sat Cynder, not to his surprise. "Hey Cynder, how'd therapy go?" Flame asked curiously.

"Oh it went fine, nothing to complain about," she responded. "Yourself?"

"I think mine is going alright I guess," he said with a hint of uncertainty in his voice.

Noticing this, Cynder figured that a change of subject would be the best thing to do. "So have you decided if you're going to join the Succession?" she asked, rather hoping that he would.

"I have been thinking about it, and I do believe that I'm going to join," he said with a smile forming across his muzzle.

"Splendid to hear," Cynder said back, also in joyful manner. With that said the two fell silent. As they walked, Cynder noticed that Flame seemed like he wanted to say something, but for reasons she did not know, had troubles speaking them out loud. "Is everything alright?" she asked concerned.

Flame seemed to have been shaken from his thoughts when she asked this "What? Oh sorry Cynder, I just have some stuff on my mind," Flame said nervously.

Cynder cocked a brow and wanted to know more. "What's troubling you Flame?"

Flame paused for a moment before taking a deep breath. "Hey Cynder… do you have any plans later today?"

Cynder thought about this for a moment. She didn't have anything scheduled or planned for the rest of the day so she shook her head. "I do not, why do you ask?"

Flame paused again before asking "Do you think… maybe… we could go… have a picnic together?"

Cynder was shocked to hear Flame ask this, but instantly a question came to mind. "You mean like a date?"

A blush crept upon Flame's muzzle as he said "Well, not if you don't want to I mean that would be alright to," he said nervously.

Cynder however couldn't help but chuckle at his nervousness. "Sure Flame, I would love to,"

A look of both surprise and relief filled Flame's eyes when he heard this. "Really!" he said excitedly before, quickly calming down. "Alright then, if you will excuse me, I must prepare for this then. I will meet you at the park in about an hour," And before Cynder could ask him were exactly they would meet, he took off.

Cynder remained silent but chuckled a little to herself.

"He really is cute like that I will admit,"

An hour later, Flame was at the park carrying a picnic basket with his mouth. It's a good thing he arrived five minutes before. However from the look of the weather, he began to wonder that maybe he should've thought this through before jumping a plan up. Before he could think anything else, he felt something grab his tail which almost made him jump and throw the basket in the air. When he turned around he saw Cynder's sweet smiling face at him.

Flame grumbled a few short words trying to speak through the handle of the basket he was carrying.

"What?" Cynder asked.

Flame sat the basket down gently.

"How do you keep on sneaking on me?" Flame asked.

"Shadow element, Flame,"

"One of these days I'm going to get the drop on you,"

"That'll be the day," Cynder answered with a giggle which made Flame smile.

Flame began to walk around in search for a spot for them to eat, while Cynder walked quietly behind him. "Ah ha," said Flame out loud as he found a nice flat spot in a rather open area. He ran over to the spot, leaving Cynder behind, and began and sat down the basket. Removing the tarp he brought with it, he laid it down and placed the basket down on top of it. Once he finished laying out the food, Cynder and reached him and sat down. Cynder had to admit, she did not expect him to be a cook. "Wow this look really good, did you make this all yourself?" Cynder asked as she looked up at the red dragon beside her.

Flame seemed to tense up when she asked this. "Well, I may have had some help…" he said nervously, but Cynder only laugh light heartily at this.

"Well thank you anyways for making at least some of it," she said with a smile.

The two grab a small selection from it and started eating a little. Cynder had to admit, Flame did a really good job for what he made. As she finished swallowing a bite she asked, "So who helped you make all this?"

"Well, just some friends from the Temple who work as the chiefs, I told them about you and they helped me prepare something special just for you,"

"Why thank you,"

"Any…"

Before Flame could finish he felt a small rain drop hit him on the nose.

"Oh…"

"Well, a little rain water won't hurt anything," Flame answered.

As if on queue, the sky began raining heavily so much that the two dragons were soaked within seconds. Cynder leapt to her feet as Flame looked annoyed from the raining ruining things.

"But allot can really spoil the moment,"

Flame then began to quickly pack up the food before it got ruined. Cynder was about to help him, when Flame said "No I got it, you go ahead and find another more dry spot to sit, if you don't mind," Flame said slightly annoyed as rain continued to pour harder onto his backside.

Cynder reluctantly did as she was asked, and searched around for a short while before finding a nice large tree with a flat ground. While some water slowly began to drip down the pine tree, it was dry enough to eat and take shelter for a little while.

Quickly running back to fetch Flame, she found him running towards her as well carrying the basket in his mouth. She stopped and waited for him, not minding the rain all too much as it poured onto her scales. Just as he approached her, his paws managed to slip on the wet grass, and he fell to the ground, unintentionally releasing the basket from his mouth. He quickly got up, only to find that some of the food with in the basket had landed on to the ground while some of it stayed in the basket, however it was the rest of it that laid upon Cynder's body. Now while Cynder didn't mind rain on her scales, a random assortment of food, she did not find too much pleasure in. Cynder quickly shook off any food on her before she lost her apatite.

Flame noticed what had happened and quickly began to panic a little.

"Cynder I am so, so very sorry I did not mean to do that," Flame said nervously.

By this time the rain help wash off the rest of the food, Cynder shook it off her.

"It's ok, like you said, allot can really spoil the moment," she answered cheerfully.

"Well, at least you smell good," Flame chuckled nervously which Cynder responded with a chuckle.

"I'm sorry the food you got prepared got all messed up," said Flame.

"Ah it's alright,"

"Do you want to try and find somewhere to eat out at?"

"Sure, we can still eat and we'll be out of the damn rain," said Cynder trying to keep the date alive.

Agreeing with her, the two left the basket and food behind, and ran back into city and into the market place. As they walked along the street they passed a couple of shops that sold food, however they seem rather crowded. Flame figured that a lot of people had the same idea and went out to eat to keep out of the rain. As they ran down the street, Flame heard a familiar voice call out to him.

"Flame my boy, why don't you bring you and that fine lady over here?" called Moneybags from his stand.

Seeing no reason not to, Cynder decided to take him up on his offer, not knowing that Flame thought that it was a bad idea. Knowing the bear himself, he knew about his overpriced offers and scandals.

Joining Cynder under the overhang that protected them from the rain, Flame noticed that Moneybags was trying to sell come items to Cynder.

"I'm sure a lovely dragoness like you, is in need of some fine jewelry," said the bear as he pulled out a rather small necklace with a more or less unimpressive crescent design pendent dangling on the tiny metal chain. "Only fifty-five gems," stated Moneybags

"Fifty-five gems?!" asked Flame astounded by the fact that Moneybags would ask for such a price.

"Is that not a good price?" asked Cynder confused.

"Of course it's a good price, but maybe this is not what you're looking for," Moneybags said slightly nervous, but hoped that by showing Cynder something else he could get her to buy. "Well how about this elegant robe," he said as he showcased a small gown meant for a mole. "This is an item that could do nothing more but add to your already existing beauty, only ten gems,"

Cynder however didn't seem impressed, and she had a slight feeling that the outfit was not meant for a dragon, seeing as it seem to there were no holes for wings to poke out of.

"Come on Cynder let's get out of here," suggested Flame, to which Cynder happily agreed.

Just as they began to leave, Moneybags shouted, "Wait what about this nice fruit that helps increase your lido!"

"Your what?" asked Cynder as she stopped and turned around to examine the fruit. Flame however knew what lido was, and wanted nothing of it at the time.

"It's nothing Cynder don't worry about it," said Flame with a blush clear on his face. Before Cynder could ask what was wrong, Flame grabbed her paw with his tail and gently pulled her away from the stand. They could hear Moneybags shout to them, but Flame ignored it and continued to walk away.

As if luck was finally on their side, Flame was able to find a nice restaurant not completely crowed or anything. The two dragons quickly entered the restaurant and took deep breaths.

"What was that bear talking about?" asked Cynder.

"Um, nothing, he's just a pain in the ass who tries to rip people off. Any rate, still hungry, I sure am," explained Flame real quickly with a nervous smile and blush on his face.

Before long the two where now sitting at a table waiting for their order meals. They were quite for a long while now, so Cynder decided to ask Flame something.

However just before she could ask them, there food came it. Cynder's smoked salmon, made her mouth water at the sight of it, while Flame's cooked roast beef looked delicious. They quickly began to chow down.

It took them a while but they happily finished their hot meals. After ordering desert, Cynder finally had an idea to start a conversation.

"So Flame, how did you meet that bear, Moneybags was it?" Cynder asked.

Flame sighs.

"Brace yourself because that's quite the odd story of the century," Flame responded which made Cynder giggle.

"I was I think 12 years old and it was my mother's birthday, so I was trying to find something to get her. And out of the blue in the market distract was this bear, I didn't know where the hell he came from but I didn't say anything, Warfang is free for everyone. Any rate here he is trying to offer me all this cheap crap that was worth more then they looked. So I tried moving on. And yet, everywhere I went the guy was there offering different stuff for even bigger prices, now at first it was creepy until it got seriously annoying. And by that time I was finally able to get something, yet just as I'm at the door of my mother's home, there he is once more offering the same thing I just bought but triple the original price. My reaction was what the fuck?!"

Cynder couldn't help but burst out laughing at the situation Flame got himself in.

"I know, it was…it was just out there, but at least mom enjoyed the present I got her,"

"Yeah, I'm glad she did, how is she doing?"

"Oh mom's doing ok, I can tell she's still really sad, but she's doing much better, she's active again, and I've been visiting her more which helps allot. She asked about you not too long ago,"

"Really, what did she ask?"

"Oh she just wanted to know how my friend Cynder was doing,"

"Next time you visit her, let her know I'm doing fine as well,"

"I will,"

By this time their desert finally arrived. They both eyed their shared chocolate ice cream cake, before taking some spoons and digging in slowly. Taking their time to enjoy the sweet flavor of each bite. However the moment Flame swallowed his bite, his eyes shot open as he felt his stomach cringe in pain. He looked at the chocolate ice cream cake and noticed tiny pieces of peanuts on it.

"Oh shit," Flame grumbled quietly to himself as he stared at the small nuts in horror.

"Is everything alright?" Cynder asked concerned.

"Yea I'm fine I just…" Flame paused as he felt a sharp pain in his stomach again. "Sorry Cynder but I'm going to have to cut this date short," he said with a groan.

"What, why?!" Cynder asked now more confused than ever.

"Well I'm allergic to peanuts, and well… I guess I wasn't paying attention to what I was eating," he said as he gave her a sorrowful smile. "I got some bad stomach pains right now,"

Cynder gave him a worry-some look, but he then said "Don't worry about me, I will be fine in the morning… I suppose I could walk you home really quick," suggested Flame.

"You sure?" Cynder asked still concerned.

"Oh yea, I'm sure, let's go." Flame said as he paid the bill, got out of his chair, and pulled Cynder along, feeling yet another pain in his stomach. Their walk home, turned into a fast jog home, as Flame felt a small sharp pain with each step and wish to get home soon. He knew Cynder could walk home on her own with ease, but he wanted to salvage whatever he could from the train wreck of a date.

Must to Flames pleasure, he found himself in front of Cynder's door step. Before Cynder could open her door, Flame said "Hey Cynder, sorry for the terrible first date, I really wish that…" but Flame stopped when Cynder gave him a little kiss on the cheek.

"Goodnight Flame, and thanks I had a good time," she said hoping to calm his nerves. She will admit that it wasn't all that great of a date, but for the moments that didn't turn out bad, she rather enjoyed. She then opened the door and walked inside.

Flame however was left awe struck from the sudden kiss he reserved, but this was quickly forgotten by another stabbing pain in his stomach, so he quickly ran home to get it taken care of. All the while running home he thought

'Well at least it wasn't all bad'
