Thanks for joining today with Fire Emblem: Chaos Theory. I would like to thank everyone who has given this story a chance, but I also have no clue what you guys liked or disliked, because no one has said anything yet.

I realize I should have said this last chapter, but all I own here is how I portray the characters, no more than that. I don't own the characters or Fire Emblem whatsoever.

Chapter 1: What kind of name is Southtown?

Robin had to wonder whether Chrom was suicidal or just reckless. From the start of the battle Chrom had jumped into the middle of the fray, nary a concern for his health. In the end, Robin decided that it would be better to help them. What's the worst that could happen? They question him before he leaves? Pulling a book from a pocket located near his right hip on the coat he was wearing, he opened it and with a flick of his wrist launched a searing bolt of lightning from his hand. Absently, Robin had to wonder at how convenient the placement of the pocket was. Deciding to check the other hip, he found a long deep pocket with a sword and scabbard tucked in it.

"Thanks for the help," being broken out his musing, Robin looked to see Chrom speaking to him.

"Indeed, but what are you doing here, pray tell?" There goes Frederick, destroyer of good cheer everywhere.

"I thought I could help" gesturing to both sword and decidedly strange book in his hand. "It would seem I could be of some use-"

"Far from a defenseless nomad, it makes me wonder-"

"I'm sorry the middle of my statement interrupted the beginning of yours, but I was just about to say how dumb you guys are for rushing here with not even the barest scrap of a plan! I mean seriously, what would you have done had one of you died!" Robin at this point snapped. He was beyond pissed at this point. The sheer recklessness of it had blown all self-control he had.

"Uh guys, we kinda have to deal with the rest of the bandits," Lissa piped up nervously.

Taking control of the situation, Robin gave orders. "Alright this is the plan, I will provide long range support with this" holding up the strange book " and watch Lissa. Chrom, you will go around and cut through the alleys on the left side. Frederick, you do the same for the right. Lissa and I will bounce between you two to provide cover and healing. Afterwards we are going to have a long talk about what you should and should not do in situations like this got it." With each word Robin's composure came back, at the end being entirely calm.

"It is tactically sound" Frederick begrudgingly admitted.

Nodding in agreement, Chrom had the sense to look sheepish.

The bandits in the alley proved to be no match for the two warriors as they fought their way to the center of town. The most Lissa would have to do was heal small scrapes and bruises. On one trip Lissa seemed to finally have gathered the courage to ask Robin what caused him to snap.

"Hey Robin?"

"Hm?" Pushing a bandit of the sword in his left hand, he diverted his attention to the small blonde.

"What caused you to blow up like that? I mean, I know what happened was stupid, but you seemed to take it almost personally."

Robin had trouble trying to form a reply to that. He opted to just pick off another bandit who was getting too close to Lissa with a lightning bolt to the chest. It was another five minutes before he finally responded with "I don't know, it just made me angry, guess it is just some sort of instinct to make sure my charges are safe."

Silence fell until they along with Chrom and Frederick met right outside the town hall. Right in front of the town stood a large man with a hand axe. "So yous' the ones causin' the trouble for da boys, eh?" he spoke with a strange accent that seemed to be fabricated. The man almost seemed to be hiding a different accent. Filing that tidbit away for later, Robin immediately went into strategizing.

"I will try to hit from behind, Frederick I need you too hit from the right and try to immobilize him. Chrom I need you to play decoy."

As the three went to execute the plan, the man , displaying a swiftness one would not expect from his large frame, twisted around Chrom's blade and grabbed Lissa, holding her by the throat from behind. "Hold it right there. Or little missies head comes off. I ain't too picky whether they happens to be dead or alive, if you know what I mean." With that he gave a chuckle while everyone else had glares. Lissa stopped looking anywhere near scared. Now her face seemed to convey a sense of disgust and anger that one would not think possible for someone like her, always full of cheer. She slipped off a shoe and using her bare foot picked up a rather jagged rock by curling her toes around the edge. Lissa then brought the rock up into the man's shin hard enough to pierce the skin. As the man yelled in pain, he let go of Lissa's neck. She took this opportunity to bite down on the man's hand and then slip out of his grip. "No one makes fun of Roddick, no one!" At this three blades entered the man's torso, ending his life.

"Thank you, without your help we would have all died!" The group turned to see an elderly man coming to thank them.

"It was nothing, simply our duty as shepherds" Chrom replies.

"Please you must stay for the feast in your honor" the old man said.

"I'm sorry, but we really need to get going" Chrom said.

"I will take my steak medium rare and-" Lissa broke off, realizing what her brother just said. "Why not!"

Laughing, the group left the town behind, pushing their troubles aside until they next stopped to rest. Now seeing the sign saying 'Welcome to Southtown', Robin had to wonder aloud "What kind of Name is Southtown."

And that's a wrap. Sorry for the short chapter, but I was having trouble trying to work out how I wanted to write the coming section, so I figured I would split it into two parts. Now I know Lissa acted a little out of character, but in my head Lissa wouldn't be one to just stay put and wait to be rescued. As she puts it, she is not delicate. And with Robin, well, let's just say that anyone with tactical knowledge would be pissed off by the recklessness displayed by Chrom and Co. Please leave a review so I can know what you guys liked and disliked. See ya later folks.
