Chapter 27: Not That Alone

Have you ever wakened up from a deep, peaceful sleep that you just want to close your eyes again and stay in bed? Then you turned to the side and saw Kol Mikaelson sleeping next to you. Based on the ray of sunshine that was shining upon us, I assumed it was at least eight or nine in the morning that meant it was already late for me to be sneaking out. I glanced at him one more time to make sure he was actually sleeping. I guess it would be very cliché for me to say that he looked like angel, but well, he seemed innocent like this. He didn't look like a bloodthirsty, psychotic vampire. Which reminded me of Klaus and the last thing I needed was to bump into him on my way out. I could just jump out through the window though but I needed to get dressed first.

Using my vampire speed to an advantage, I slipped out of the bed without making any sound. Only to find my ripped dress on the floor and I rolled my eyes. How can I forget about that? I slipped into my corset and lace shorts, and picked up my red dress. Rebekah would be furious if she found out that it's been ripped to shreds. I picked up my high heel and searched for the other, but decided to just leave instead of waiting around as Kol might wake up soon. I saw Kol's shirt on the table and slipped it on, although most of the buttons were no longer there at least it'll cover me up a little. Leaving the room quietly, I couldn't help but smirk.

I slept with Kol Mikaelson.

"Rough night, love?" Klaus asked and I shut my eyes in embarrassment before slowly turning around to face him. He was painting on his easel and had that smirk on his face as he glanced at me.

"Morning, Klaus," I said awkwardly. "I'm just gonna go…" I said and he chuckled, before retrieving something on the table behind him.

"You missed this one, Cinderella," he said, showing me the red high heel that was missing in Kol's room.

"Right," I said and went over there and snatched my shoe away.

"I supposed if you stay out after midnight, your beautiful dress does turn into rags," he added mischievously and I rolled my eyes.

"Very funny," I hissed and he smiled.

"I told you to stay away from my little brother," he said casually and I made a face.

"Is that jealousy in your voice?" I asked him teasingly and he rolled his eyes. "Well, I like to play with fire," I said again and he shook his head.

"Not if Kol is the fire," he said and I tilted my head to the side.

"I don't like to listen to old people like you," I said, sticking out my tongue.

"Kol is as old as I am," he pointed out and I cringed.

"Ugh, you just made it creepy," I said.

"Well, I'm sure it was worth it," he said. "Perhaps next time if you want to stay over, you should keep the noises down," he added with a smirk and my face flushed red before I tried regaining my composure.

"I have no idea why I'm still here, talking to you," I said with a scowl and Klaus held back a smile. "Shut up," I hissed, before storming off from the mansion.

"Vanessa? You weren't home," Elena said as soon as I stepped inside the house.

"Clearly," I said and she looked awkward.

"Did you…" she motioned my not so decent outfit and I gave her a smile.

"Yes, and I don't really want to discuss this further with you," I said and I caught that guilty look on her face again.

"Right, I assumed it went well then. Your talk with Elijah?" she asked and I nodded.

"Yes…it did," I said unsurely, knowing she thought I slept with Elijah last night. "Sorry if you were worried or anything," I said.

"I'm…I'm just glad," she said and I just waved her off as I went upstairs. Why did Elena look guilty whenever the topic was on Elijah? Did he tell her something?

While I was having a drink at the bar, a brunette who was slightly older than me approached me.

"Vanessa, right?" she asked with a smile.

"Yes, and you are?"

"Meredith. Meredith Fell. I treated Alaric, your guardian," she introduced herself and I smiled at her.

"Right, the serial killer. I mean sorry, Damon called you that and I hanged out with him all the time," I said and shook my head. "No offense, thank you for your help. Really," I said and she laughed it off.

"Well, it didn't seem like he needed my help that much after all," she said and I tilted my head to the side.

"Right…" I said not sure if she knew about the ring although she did know about vampires. I then waved at Alaric who was walking towards us.

"So this is Meredith," he said to me and I nodded.

"Who was that?" I asked, referring to his long phone call.

"Damon," Alaric answered.

"Who still thinks I'm a serial killer," Meredith chimed in.

"He's a little judgmental," Alaric said.

"Speaking of. Your x-rays were inconclusive. Your knife wound was already semi-healed. It's impossible to tell anything about whoever stabbed you. Short, tall, left-handed, right-handed. No clue," Meredith explained and I raised an eyebrow at Alaric.

"That's unfortunate," I commented.

"Well, what about my head? Why can't I remember anything about the attack?"

"Your CT scans were clear. Maybe you were compelled to forget," Meredith said and I didn't miss the glance she gave me.

"You think it's a vampire?" I asked her.

"There are no other suspects. It's the obvious conclusion," she shrugged.

"Oh, come on now. Let's not go blaming the new family in town just because you lot have got yourselves a killer at large," Klaus interrupted, walking over to the bar with Kol next to him. He smirked when he saw me, and I rolled my eyes trying to hide the fact that I was suddenly nervous. "Don't mind us. My brother and I are just here to let off some steam, right Kol?"

"Right," Kol replied, his dark brown eyes not leaving mine.

"You're gonna be okay?" Alaric asked and I nodded.

"Yes, just enjoy your date," I told him and he nodded, giving me a pat on the shoulder. I spared the Original brothers a glance, before returning back to my drink.

"So Vanessa darling, why did you leave so early in the morning?" Kol asked and I rolled my eyes, ignoring him by drinking the scotch.

"Probably she's sick of your face," Klaus interjected. "Not many of us are gifted with great tolerance."

"Oh, I doubt that. I'm pretty sure you can hear her throughout the house," Kol retorted with a smirk and I shot him my death glare.

"Can both of you just drink somewhere else?" I hissed.

"Why is that love? This town is our town too," Klaus said with a smile and I sighed.

"Just leave me alone, please?" I asked tiredly and Kol tilted his head to the side.

"Where's the fun in that?" he said with a devilish smirk and I looked at Klaus.

"Put a leash on your brother," I told him and he raised his hands in surrender.

"I've warned you, love," he laughed a little and I rolled my eyes. But they did kind of left me alone for a while, talking to each other, doing brotherly bonding. And in the end I did listen to Klaus and Kol telling funny stories that wouldn't be considered funny since it involved a lot of blood and heads rolling.

"I remember her from last night. She looks like a tasty little thing," Kol said pointing out at someone and I turned to look at whom he was talking about. Why was I feeling a little…jealous?

"Say another word and I'll tear out your liver," Klaus said casually to Kol before turning to the blonde. "Caroline!"

"Oh, it's you," she said in disdain.

"Join us for a drink?" Klaus asked hopefully, and Kol and I raised our glass at her invitingly. She gave me a look for sitting down with them but turned to Klaus.

"I'd rather die of thirst, but thanks," she said haughtily and left. I raised an eyebrow at the weird scene, almost like she was baiting him to leave.

"Isn't she stunning?" Klaus asked admiringly and I looked at him incredulously.

"She certainly looks good walking away from you," Kol remarked and I laughed.

"I'll take that as a challenge," Klaus said and went after her and I pursed my lips as I realized something. Glancing at Kol, he gave me a wicked smile.

"It seems like it's just you and me," he said, his voice dropped a notch, turning into that irresistible husky voice like last night.

"And it seems like it's just you and this fine scotch," I said, slipping out from the bar stool and Kol clicked his tongue, grabbing my wrist.

"Nik promised he would accompany me for some fun, but now that he'd left to have his own fun…" he trailed off, pulling me slightly closer to him and his lips went to my neck, making me yelped in surprise. I hit his chest as hard as I could making him chuckled.

"You are very cute," he said and I narrowed my eyes at the adjective he chose to use from last night.

"Are you really going to leave me all alone after all the fun we had last night?" he asked almost sounding like a whine, and his hand slipped to my waist, his touch was like an electric current, making me jolted. I didn't know why it was hard to retort back, perhaps it was the way he was touching me or it was the way his dark eyes were staring at me, or it was the way his lips curled into a smirk. But I was so distracted that my mouth opened and closed like an idiotic fish. "Cat got your tongue, darling?"

I snapped back into reality and pulled my hand from his grip. "My tongue is none of your concern!" I snapped, glaring at him and if possible, that playful smirk on his lips was taunting me further.

"It was, last night," he reminded. "Quite a talent you have there. Never thought a lovely girl like you could be-"

"For the love of god, Kol!" I hissed out in frustration, pulling him into a deep kiss and taking him by surprise. Kol was kissing me back in a matter of second, and I enjoyed myself for a moment because who wouldn't want to kiss him right? Then I bit his lower lip as hard as I could, making him moaned and whined in pain until I released his bleeding lips. I couldn't control my smirk, and Kol glared at me furiously as he touched his lips. But he wasn't totally angry instead his eyes lit up in excitement, somehow enjoying this. I licked my lips, tasting his blood and fixed my hair that was ruffled slightly during the kiss as I looked at him haughtily.

"I was your entertainment last night. Now find others to replace me," I said, turning on my heels before Kol caught up with me using his long legs and without the help of his vampire speed.

"Well I have," he said, in that delicious British accent and tilted his head to the side, looking at something pointedly. I turned to look at the so-called entertainment expecting to see a human or something but it was actually the pool table and I looked back at Kol who was grinning.

"Teach me how to play that weird green thing?" he asked and I laughed. "It's only fair since you bit me," he said, wiping the blood on his already healed lips and I rolled my eyes. "Come on darling, I don't know anyone else. I'm only looking for some fun," he said and I couldn't resist that puppy eyes he was giving me. Perhaps that was the same way he got Klaus to accompany him in the first place.

"I think your definition of fun differs greatly from mine," I said, quoting from last night and he gave me a boyish grin.

"Slightly," he corrected, yet again, as I led him to the pool table.

"So why not just hit the ball?" he asked after I explained the rules and how to play.

"Well, I never question the man who invented this game," I said, watching the red ball entered the pocket. "It'd be my turn but I'll let you play," I told him.

"Oh no, I want to watch you play first," he said with an innocent grin and I shook my head at him. Bending down, I then realized I was wearing a short sundress although it was fall and freezing. I quickly straightened up and turned to face Kol who quickly lifted his eyes to meet my eyes.

"Yes?" he asked innocently and I found myself blushing furiously.

"That's not very gentlemanly of you," I said, pointing the cue stick at him and he smirked.

"If you're looking for a gentleman, you should've stayed with my big brother," he said and I glared at him.

"Did he say anything to you?" I asked him.

"About what?" he asked as I hit another ball.

"About last night," I said, irritated at him playing dumb.

"What happened last night?" he asked quizzically, bending down, his lips closed to my ear.

"Do you need me to remind you?" I asked, hitting the ball but missed and Kol smirked, straightening up.

"So you hit the white ball, am I right?" he asked and I chuckled slightly.

"Yes," I said. "You should grip this a little bit further," I said and he looked down quizzically.

"You do realize I'm not Captain Hook right?" he asked and I rolled my eyes, moving his right hand a little bit further.

"Because you are Peter Pan?" I asked.

"The boy who wouldn't grow up," he said. "One of my favorite books," he told me and I raised an eyebrow at him.

"One of my favorite movies," I told him.

"Movie is the thing like a play in theatre but you watch it in a…television?" he asked and I couldn't help but grinned.

"Yeah," I said.

"And where can I see this…Peter Pan movie?" he asked, hitting another ball. I laughed, slightly enjoying myself.

"You can get it from DVD," I told him.

"And DVD is?" he asked making me laughed harder.

"Don't laugh at me, Vanessa. I'm warning you," he said with a playful glare and I bit my lip to hold back my laughter.

"You are very cute," I said, returning the 'compliment' he kept giving me.

"Falling for me already, darling?" he asked and I rolled my eyes. "To answer your question before, I didn't see Elijah at all. I'm beginning to think he's avoiding me," Kol said and wiggled his eyebrows. "Do you think he's jealous?" he asked.

"You're enjoying this more than I do. Besides, he has no right to be jealous," I said.

"Doesn't mean he can't be jealous," he said, shrugging.

"Vanessa, can I talk to you?" Alaric suddenly asked and I raised an eyebrow at him before glancing at Kol.

"You do realize I'm an Original vampire right?" he said to Ric, pointing to his ear. I ignored him and walked a little bit further with Alaric.

"Do I need to be concerned with you? You're drinking in the middle of afternoon, and you're with him," he said.

"With all due respect, you don't need to lecture me," I said. "Just enjoy your date, Ric."

"Vanessa, please. Go home," he said.

"Leave her alone, mate. She doesn't want to listen to you," Kol said lazily and I gestured him to shut up.

"I'm friends with Rebekah, and I'm not really friends with him but I can take care of myself," I said.

"And it's not like I'm going to hurt her," Kol chimed in, walking towards us. "Yet," he added under his breath, his hand slipped to my waist and I rolled my eyes. "And if I did hurt you last night, it was totally with your consent, right?" He added and I groaned.

"You what?" Alaric whispered angrily. "When Elena mentioned your Original sleepover, I thought it was with Elijah," he said and I held up my hands at Ric trying to calm him down.

"You didn't…share the details with your sister?" Kol asked playfully and I glared at him.

"Do we really need to discuss my sex life right now? With you?" I asked Alaric.

"Fine, do whatever you want," he said and I looked at him.

"Thank you," I said and turned around only to see Meredith stabbing Kol with the dagger.

"Shh!" Alaric shushed me as he caught Kol's dead body. "Help me carry him," he scolded me, shutting me up from asking questions. I carried Kol's body to the backdoor and saw Damon and Stefan.

"What the hell?" I asked them, leaving Alaric to attend Kol's body by himself. "Is anyone going to tell me what the hell was that for?" I asked, freaking out and Damon placed his finger on his lips.

"Now-" he didn't get to finish his sentence as Klaus appeared in a flash, undaggering Kol and throwing Alaric against the wall. Stefan tried to attack him but Klaus threw him against the stairs and I got thrown against the wall too. I didn't even do anything for god's sake.

"I should've killed you months ago," Klaus said angrily to Damon.

"Do it," Damon said indifferently. "It's not going to stop Esther from killing you."

"What did you say about my mother?" Klaus asked.

"You didn't know I was friends with your mummy? Yeah, we have a lot in common. She hates you as much as I do," Damon taunted. Klaus was about to lunge at him when Elijah stopped him.

"Leave him! We still need him, Niklaus," he said calmly.

"What did mother do? What did she do, Elijah?" Klaus asked calmly although there was a hint of anger in his voice. Instead of answering, Elijah pulled out his phone and walked over to Damon.

"You tell me where the witches are or I'll have my sister kill Elena right now," Elijah said and my jaw dropped, hearing him say that.

"You told me we had until after nine," Damon said.

"I'm sure Rebekah will be more than happy to start her work early," Elijah replied. Damon seemed furious but he walked away and I just stared at Elijah.

"What did you do to Elena?" I asked, wanting to hear it from himself.

"Vanessa, I-"

"Don't bother. You'd be dead by tonight," I said with despise, and ran after Damon.

"Why the hell no one called to tell me what the hell was going on?" I asked them as we headed to the car. Damon shook his head, shrugging.

"You and Elena were not in a good place," he said.

"And what? So I want her dead?" I asked him.

"Ric said you were drinking with Klaus and Kol. What was that?" Stefan asked.

"Nothing," I argued.

"Any idea where the witches would be?" Damon asked.

"I'm guessing the same witch house," I said. "Any idea how to stop them?" I asked and Stefan looked at me almost guiltily.

"Yep, but you're not going to like it," Damon said. We parked the car near the woods and I held back a sigh.

"You know, if we sit this out, Esther completes her spell, Klaus dies, you get your revenge. It's what you wanted the whole time. The only collateral damage is…" Damon trailed off.

"Elena," Stefan said and I hit Damon's head for even thinking that.

"Ow, I'm just saying you know what she's choose," he defended himself.

"She'd let herself be killed to save her friend," Stefan said.

"Yep," Damon said.

"If we do this, it'll wreck her," Stefan said.

"There has to be another way. No one else needs to die because of my sister!" I protested. Damon and Stefan shared a look and I knew they had made up their minds. Truth to be told, Elena may say she doesn't want anyone to get hurt, that she will sacrifice herself for her friends but it wasn't the truth. She was only saying that to make her looked good. In the end, everyone else gets hurt and she remains unscathed.

"Is she alright?" I asked Caroline.

"She'll be fine. But-"

"Yeah, I understand. I think it's better if you help her anyway. Can you just tell Bonnie that I'm sorry? I did ask them to find other ways but when it comes to Elena…Just tell her I'm sorry. Everyone had lost someone just to protect my sister and it's not fair. Especially to Bonnie. She's lost her gramps and now her mother's a vampire?" I sighed. "Just let her know how sorry I am, okay?"

"Yeah, sure. I'll talk to you later," Caroline said before hanging up. I heard footsteps upstairs and wondered how on earth Elena came home so fast. Then there was a whoosh of wind and I knew it was a vampire. Using my vampire speed, I flashed to Elena's room, seeing a letter from Elijah. I checked my room and yep, no letters. I knew they would want to get out of town after what happened…and there was a chance that Elijah and I will never see each other again.

Knowing that I'm going to need stronger alcohol than the one in Salvatore's, I shut the door and headed to the Grill.

"Vanessa." I stopped in my tracks when I heard him called me. Yes, even if a thousand years had passed, I assumed his voice, the way he called my name will always have effects on me. I turned around, seeing Elijah looking grim.

"What? No letter for me, Elijah?" I asked him and he offered me a meek smile.

"I thought you weren't a Juliet kind of girl," he said, quoting Rebekah and I laughed.

"She's right, I'm not. I'd just be upset if you leave without saying goodbye," I admitted and he sighed, walking towards me.

"What I did tonight was unforgivable but my family had always been my very first priority," he said and I just held up my hand.

"You always think that you need to explain things to me but you don't have to, Elijah. I understand why you did what you did," I said.

"And do you forgive me?" he asked and I smiled.

"I don't know but I will," I said and looked at him hesitantly. "For what it's worth, Elijah, you were a big part of my life. Impersonating Cassandra might have been a mistake, but without it I wouldn't have met you. And we did get off on the wrong foot," I said with a laugh and just stared into his brown eyes. "But I will miss you," I confessed.

"So do I," he said, tracing my face lightly and tucking a strand of my hair behind my ear. "You're an amazing young woman who deserves so much more. You were right, I did use you even if that was not my intent. But you should know Vanessa, at one point I did love you for who you are. And I apologize if I ever hurt you for my own gain," he said, and I nodded, holding his hand that was resting on my face.

"You should find her," I said, feeling the tears escaped my eyes.

"Thank you. Thank you for being a part of my long life," he said sincerely, wiping the tears on my cheeks. "I only wish for your happiness, Vanessa. Goodbye," Elijah said softly, and pressed his lips on my forehead. I closed my eyes, feeling the comfort of being with him, even if it might be for the last time. And when I opened my eyes, he was long gone. But the feeling of his lips lingered.

"Goodbye Elijah," I whispered sadly, and another tear fell.

I opened the door of the already closed Mystic Grill and spotted a familiar man sitting at the bar. I thought for a moment before walking over to join him.

"I thought you had left. Do you mind if I join you?" I asked and Kol gestured at the empty stool next to him. I waited for a moment before deciding to speak again. "Are you okay?"

"Why wouldn't I be?" he asked, sounding indifferent but I knew better. I had always used that tone when I was deeply hurt. Neither of us said anything, just drinking silently.

"Around two years ago, our car went through the Wickery Bridge. My parents and I died that night. While I did return to the world of the living as a vampire, my parents stayed dead," I said. Kol remained emotionless but he was listening. "If they were still here, they would probably try to kill me too. My mum might just hate me for who I am but I'm sure my father would drive the stake into my heart himself."

Now that I said it out loud, it was pretty upsetting. "Were you close with your mother?" I asked.

"I was. I was close with my father too," he said and I was surprised at the additional detail.

"Then it must suck," I said and he looked at me slightly confused.

"Suck as in?" he asked and I grinned.

"Right, suck means terrible. You must felt terrible," I explained and he just smiled half-heartedly.

"You lot with your odd use of words," he said and I laughed a little. Silence fell over us and I watched how he played with his drink before downing it. I poured him another, waiting for him to speak.

"Do you know that my father and I had crossed path before? He wasn't proud of who I was but he didn't kill me. He told me to go and stay the hell out of his sight," Kol told me after a while. "I didn't expect that from him nor did I expect this from my mother. I thought she was the forgiving one. Turns out she tried to kill us all," he said bitterly before turning to me. "What's with your father?"

"My father was with the council. Mystic Falls had this Founder's council who hunts vampires and protected the town from them. He hates vampires very much, you know? I remembered vaguely when I was young, I found him torturing a vampire. I would hear the vampire screamed from being electrocuted and my father would cut him opened only for him to heal. Then he would cut him again. When I confronted my father about it, he said he was doing the right thing. That the thing he was dissecting was a monster. I told him that that man looked very much human to me," I told Kol.

"So you actually know of vampire's existence since you were young?" Kol asked, intrigued. I found the attention to be overwhelming, like I was very interesting. He usually looked at me like I was a plaything, something of his amusement.

"When I was six, actually," I told him. "Can you imagine? A little girl talking and playing with a vampire? My father freaked out so much when he found me," I said with a laugh.

"What happened then?"

"As I grew up I was told that Enzo was just my imaginary friend. But my father eventually told me the truth later on. He said I would be a great member of the council, a vampire hunter," I said and laughed at the irony.

"Is that why you're so different?" he asked and I raised an eyebrow.

"You're a thousand year old vampire. You tell me," I said and he smirked. "I never considered vampires as a monster, even after I read the Gilbert journals. But when I became one…well I have to admit. We are a little bit monstrous."

"Hmm, I have to agree," he said. "If only your father could see you right now," he said and I laughed although I had this bitter feeling. I was my father's daughter. We were very close and he was my hero, my savior. To think that he would be very disappointed and tried to kill me…that was very upsetting.

"Do you ever feel guilty?" I asked out of nowhere.

"For killing humans mercilessly?" he asked and I shook my head.

"For enjoying it," I said and he stared at me.

"Do you?"

"I asked you first!" I said and he shrugged. "Fine," I huffed. "I never felt guilty at all. Perhaps it's because I'm still young but I always reasoned with myself that I'm a predator therefore it's okay. I'm at the top of the food chain and humans just happen to be below me," I admitted. "But at the end of the day, I felt guilty…for not feeling guilty. Get it?"

Then Kol laughed leaving me stunt.

"I am serious, for god's sake!" I hit him in the arm lightly and he laughed, prompting me to laugh as well. "Hmm where are you going after this?" I asked.

"I'm thinking Italy. I want to see if a lot has changed in the past century," he said and glanced at me. "You can join me if you want," he added, making me raised an eyebrow in surprise.

"What?"

"I've never travelled with a company before. And you seemed like a good company," he said casually and I just stared at him.

"You're telling me that all these years-centuries, you went from places to places by yourself?" I asked.

"Rebekah, Elijah and Nik were always together with their 'Always and Forever' thing that it made me sick and Finn was lying in a box. And I rather drown than spend some time with him anywhere. He's dull," Kol said.

"You felt like an outsider," I blurted out and he turned to look at me sharply.

"Be careful with your words, darling," he growled, his dark eyes seemed darker.

"Why? Because it's the truth?" I asked him and he tensed. "What about a woman?" I asked.

"I thought we discussed this last night. Love is a weakness," he said and I looked at him, catching on to something.

"Oh my god. You don't believe in love at all," I said and he scoffed. Although he wasn't being scornful, he was…I don't know. Hurt? "No one in this world is meant to be alone," I told him softly and he just stared at his drink, looking like a statue.

"I am," he said so softly that I almost didn't hear him. The way he said it made my heart clenched because of the raw emotions behind it. Apparently there was more to him than he let on. I took a deep breath, wanting to change this tense atmosphere.

"Well not tonight," I said, slipping from the stool and went behind him. "Tonight I'm your company," I said, smiling mischievously as I took off my jacket, leaving me in that short white sundress. Kol began to relax a little and I watched his lips formed a smirk as he took me in. That admiring gaze he had from last night made me felt somewhat special because at this moment, it was just the two of us. "Have you drink tequila before?" I asked, going to the back of the bar.

"Yes," he replied and then I returned with slices of lime and a bottle of salt. Climbing up onto the bar, I turned around to find a bottle of tequila.

"Enjoying the view?" I asked and he chuckled slightly. I slapped his hand that was about to touch my behind and I sat on the bar with him in front of me. "This is the fun way to drink tequila in the 21st century," I said, pouring a glass of tequila and opening his mouth so that he bit the lime. Smirking slightly, I took his wrist and licked the skin where his pulse was and saw his eyes darkened. Now that's more like it. I poured some salt on his wrist and licked it again before downing the drink. I cup his face and caught his eyes widened a little in surprise as I sucked the lime before pulling it away and kissing him.

"That was fun, wasn't it?" I asked, slightly breathless and he looked at me with that predator's eyes and I felt my heartbeat quickened.

"Very," he said, his rough and calloused hands pulled my thighs closer to him and he placed my calves on his shoulder. Kol looked at me, his dark eyes bored into my blue eyes before he removed his gaze and I felt his hot breath against my skin and watched in fascination when his tongue darted out and licked the inside of my thigh. I shuddered, an involuntary action that I seemed to be getting to everything as long as it was him doing it to me. He poured the salt and then poured the tequila and I waited to feel his tongue against my skin again. Kol didn't wait around this time, he licked the salt and I watched him downed the drink, his Adam's apple bobbed and our eyes met. I bit the lime slice and Kol rose from the stool to his full height, sucking the sour lime before kissing me.

"You should consider joining me in my travels," Kol said in between the kisses as he slipped the sleeves of my sundress down my arms.

"I don't know how you do it," I said, playing with his soft brown hair as his kisses trailed south. "I can't just leave like that."

"You said it yourself that you can't stand your sister," he told me.

"I'm sure you can find other companies while you're in Italy," I said and he smirked.

"It's you who's going to be alone," he said and I gaped at him before laughing.

"Then I'll better enjoy your company," I said with a grin and Kol just smirked as he pulled off his shirt of his body.

"We have planes now, you know. It's much faster," I told Kol as we headed out from the Grill, looking decent.

"Nik did explain that to me. He said his private plane would be waiting at the airport," Kol said and I gasped in amazement.

"He has a private plane?" I asked and Kol laughed.

"I assume it is a good thing," Kol said and I just laughed.

"Alright, there's your taxi," I said seeing the taxi that I called just now pulled over.

"My offer still stands," Kol said and I looked at him, finding myself smiling.

"Maybe one day," I promised and he nodded.

"Alright darling, it's been fun," he said and I laughed.

"Take care," I said, surprising myself at how genuine I sound and he gave me a smile, opening the door.

"Wait, give me your phone," I said and he raised an eyebrow but obliged. I inserted my number and called my phone, and handed it back to him.

"And what was that for?" Kol asked making me smirk.

"Another must try 21st century thing," I told him.

"And what is that?" he asked making me flustered a little. Biting my lips, I debated whether to tell him or not but I tiptoed to his ear, slightly giggling making him wiggled away from me, ticklish at my breath at his ear. "Don't do that," he hissed making me laughed.

"Phone sex," I whispered bashfully and he looked at me.

"You can have sex on the phone?" he asked slightly dumbfounded and I laughed. It kinda seemed like I was teaching an innocent child dirty things but Kol was actually very far from innocent.

"Give me a call and you'll find out," I told him and he grinned boyishly.

"Goodbye Vanessa," he said, getting inside the taxi and gave me one last smirk. I watched the taxi drove away and found myself slightly sad. For what it's worth, Kol kind of had grown on me.

Yayy after so long I can finally update this story. Hope you love it!
