'Shuusuke's sister really is scary with her predictions...' Kagome still couldn't believe that the boy playing alongside her in Tennis was none other than the very Neko that had been predicted by Yumiko in her fortune five months ago. As their practice dwindled to an end, Kagome had quickly realized that the game had become a versus match and she was far too much a beginner to keep up and had happily stepped out of the court to watch the two play. A prodigy versus an Acrobat, it was such a uniquely diverse pair up, and it was so much fun to watch, yet there seemed to be different opinions of the match from both boys.

While the red head was more excited and joyous over the challenge, Shuusuke seemed a bit more intense and irritated over playing with someone as actively energetic as the boy he was playing. When the match was finally over, both boys came over to where Kagome was sitting between the two sides of the court and sat down on either side of her.

"That was so cool! Shuusuke, you seemed more focus than normal...it was like watching a samurai play against a gymnast."

Eiji laughed, "I was the Samurai, right?"

Shuusuke frowned, "Saa~ I think you've got it backwards, all that flipping must have scrambled your brain."

"Be nice, Shuusuke..." smiling, Kagome stood up and looked around, "Hey, Shuusuke, I should head home. It's getting late, and I still have to help mama with grocery shopping. We were going at six, and judging by the light, it's getting close."

"I can walk you back,"

Kagome shook her head, "you can practice some more, I know you normally practice for a lot longer than we've been here, I'll see you both later!" She grabbed her racquet and ran off.

Shuusuke watched Kagome disappear around the corner of the wall of bushes that hid the tennis court they'd been playing on, before turning his eyes onto Eiji who was looking up at the sky. "You said you've been paying for nine months?"

Eiji glanced over to Shuusuke, grinning, he gave a nod. "Yeah, before I was in tennis I was in Gymnastics, for two years, actually. What about you?"

"I've been playing for a few years..."

"Haha, no wonder you won." Eiji stood up and stretched, "I was actually on my way home when I ran into you guys earlier, my mom is probably freaking out right now, nyan!"

Shuusuke watched the red head stand, "I guess I'll probably run into you another day then, we can have another match..."

"Yeah! Who knows, perhaps I'll win next time."

"Saa~"

Kagome was running back the way she came, a frown on her face as she had realized she didn't know where she was, or which way she was going or should be going to get home. "Shuusuke~!" Trying not to cry, she looked around nervously as she tried to remember which way she had come from. "...it's getting dark...and I'm lost..." A familiar red could be seen across the street, and she felt her eyes light up at the boy who was walking on the other side of the street. "He can take me back to the court...EIJI!" Kagome took off running towards the boy, not looking where she was heading, she watched him turn her way before he yelled out to her.

"KAGOME!" He ran towards her and jumped forward as if to tackle her, and tackle her he did. Her body met the hard concrete of the road as they rolled out of the way of a large transport bus that had been in transit towards her. Her body screaming out new aches and pains as she opened her eyes which she'd closed on impact. Eiji was laying atop her, and a few adults were hovering around the two kids, staring down curiously at them as they checked them over with their eyes. "Kagome!" Eiji lifted his head, putting his weight on his hands and knees as he pushed his body off of Kagome who lay beneath him. "Kagome, are you alright?!"

She shook her head 'yes' with tears falling from her eyes.

"Are you hurt, Kagome? What hurts, nyan!?"

"KAGOME!"

Eiji and Kagome both turned to see Shuusuke running their way. Eiji sat back and watched as Shuusuke pulled Kagome into his arms, hugging her, holding her, carefully checking her over. "She needs to get checked, my mom is a nurse, and I live only around the corner." He supplied, hoping to be of some help.

Shuusuke smiled, but shook his head, "thank you, but I'm going to take her home. I'll let her mother choose what to do..."

Kagome was lifted into Shuusuke's arms, and once again, he surprised her by how strong he was at just seven years old. She stared at Eiji who watched as Shuusuke stood up while carefully cradling Kagome, "Eiji..."

"Ah!" His eyes brightened when he heard his name, acknowledging her as he smiled, hoping the simple gesture would soothe her heart somewhat. "Yes?"

She smiled, "thank you...Eiji."

That was all she said as Shuusuke left Eiji to watch them walk away, the red haired boy could only stare after them, not knowing what to say back to the girl, he waited until the two were out of sight, then...he stood up, and left towards his own home. Hopefully, his mother would have some hot cocoa or tea ready when he got there.
