Mr. and Miss. Iris and Draco Malfoy – a sight to Behold!

A few weeks ago Mr. James Potter and Mr. Lucius Malfoy formally announced the marriage union of their first borns, Draco Malfoy, age 26, and Iris Potter, age 18, now known as Iris Malfoy. Although it was common knowledge that Iris and Draco were betrothed to each other, it still broke the hearts of many young men and women.

Draco Malfoy, heir to the Malfoy family not only succeeded his father, but took their family business even further by investing overseas and expanding their business in five of the seven continents of the world. Young Mr. Malfoy is one of the biggest and successful business figures under 30, graduating from Stanford Business School and recently appearing on The Economist cover page.

Iris Malfoy nee Potter, the eldest daughter of Mr. and Miss. James and Lily Potter recently graduated from University of Oxford – Center for Criminology. At the age of 15, she was one of the youngest students to be accepted into Center for Criminology Program, and before her 18th birthday she had graduated as one of the youngest students in her class.

Iris Potter is a well-known child protégée, she had recently campaigned for social justice and shelters for the homeless, and Human Slavery with her close friend, Hermione Granger. Appearing on many Talk Shows, and recently giving an interview for The Herizons' Magazine, it was a huge shock to many of her fans when she announced she was getting married – it is safe to say that much like her husband, she too broke the hearts of many young males and females.

It has been a week since Draco and Iris Malfoy's marriage. Unfortunately for many it was a small and private ceremony, however, we wish the happy couple a blessed union.

"That wasn't a bad article, they used decent pictures of us, and it seemed like they actually seem quite happy for us." Draco said as he sat across from me on the opposite love seat shuffling thought his own tablet, "I wonder how long until they start digging into our pasts and create a scandal out of nothing."

I nodded as I finished reading the article. For the past week, most headlines had been about our marriage. Two influential families tied together though marriage was a news worthy news, but that also meant that Draco and I were stuck inside his condo for the majority of our honeymoon. Turing off my tablet I stared into the black screen. The past week was … interesting. Draco was interesting. There was no other way to describe it. I did not know what to expect entering into this union, and a week married and I was even more confused than I was before we had gotten married.

Draco was very different from Draco Malfoy. Draco Malfoy was stoic, sarcastic, a natural prince like person who took away breaths of thousands when he was required. He was a person who could destroy you with a smile, he took the meaning 'kill with kindnesses' to a whole different level. But Draco was different – Draco loved to tease, he was sarcastic but he was also very friendly. He wore thin wire framed glasses, loved coffee and was a Mommy's boy. He loved cats, enjoyed a good novel and secretly enjoyed sweets. Draco hated early mornings, loved long baths, and had an unrealistic obsessions with dragons.

I knew how to act with Draco Malfoy, I had grown up in an environment where men and women acted like him. I had met Lucius Malfoy countless times, even attended his lecture when he was hired as a guest speaker at Oxford. It was safe to say that my father in law and I held a good relationship, dealing with Draco Malfoy was similar to dealing with any other prominent figure. Seeing how this was an arranged marriage, a "marriage of inconvenience" as one of my friends nicely named, I had thought I would be dealing with Draco Malfoy for the most part. He would be out most of the time running the Malfoy businesses, I would continue my life as much as possible, and when the time came we would have a child to continue the Malfoy fortune.

Yet … the past week had blown all my previous ideas of what this marriage would be like into a spiraling whirlpool. The past week Draco had been nothing but kind to me, he had for the most part left me alone. Companying me when I needed, sometimes asking for my opinion for his latest business projects, but leaving me alone for the most part to entertain myself. We had both opted to stay inside the condo instead of going out, we had both been to Paris many time, it was truly overrated, plus there were way too many reporters trying to get a glimpse of us.

I sighted as I thought back to our first day as husband and wife. Draco had told me in not so many words that he would not be taking any lovers, he was going to remain a faithful husband till death tore us apart and he expected the same from me. I had agreed with him. He took away one of my main concerns with this marriage, I did not want to deal with reporters or anyone else if he had decided to take a mistress like many other couples in similar situations. I wanted a marriage based on trust, on love, on friendship – much like my parents. Draco had also informed me of his past girlfriends and (much to my surprise) that he was still a virgin regardless of what People's Magazine said. Blushing I had informed him of my non-existent past and love life. We both agreed to take things slow, much to my relief.

I sighted again.

"Are you okay? You're sighing a lot."

I looked up from my blank tablet screen. Nodding, I set the tablet down on the coffee table and took a sip of Jasmine tea. "Just thinking."

Draco looked interested, he too sat his tablet down on the coffee take. "About what? Anything interesting?" He then smirked, "Maybe about my oozing masculinity or how you'd arch your back while I make love to you!"

I snorted. "Says the man who is still a virgin and spends more time in the bathroom and I do."

Draco smile as he pretended to hold his wounded heart. "If it isn't about our love making, than what is in your mind Miss. Malfoy?"

I sighted as I took another sip of tea. "What's going to happen when we get back to England?" I asked.

"What do you mean?"

"England," I repeated as I rubbed my eyes. "Here it's only me and you. We're basically hiding out from crazy reports, family members, we sort of created a safe heaven for ourselves. But once we go back, reality is going to hit us."

Draco nodded as he understood my question more clearly. I could see the frown lines slowly appearing across his temples. Finally he replied "I don't know Iris. I know it's going to be hard, much harder for you since you'll be moving into the Malfoy Manor. But for now, don't worry about it. We have tonight to relax and just be. Tomorrow when we go back, whatever happens, I'll be there. I have your back. You're young, too young to be thrown into the role of the Lady."

I frowned, "What do you mean too young?" I asked sharply.

Draco got up from his love seat, walked around the coffee table and sat next to me. "I know you had dreams. Your father told me all about the. Your godfather too, they're both so proud of you. It will be hard for you to manage being the Lady and chasing your dreams. You're much too young to be given such huge responsibility. My own mother was twenty one when she married my father, even than she had a hard time adjusting. What I am saying is that I have your back. You're my wife and you're a strong women. But when you need help or it becomes too much, turn to me. I will do everything to help you."

I nodded, still very much confused by his words. It didn't seem like he answered my question. But it was good to know that I wasn't alone in this marriage. It was true I was young, my younger twin brothers only reminded me too often how naïve I was regardless of being a prodigy. Not knowing what else to say, I smiled at Draco and excused myself. As I walked away, I could feel his eyes piercing through my back.

I may have graduated from Oxford on Criminology much earlier than my peers, but I was still a little girl at heart. And this little girl was confused and lost at her current situation, and most of all, with her husband's behaviour. He was nothing like what she has heard from her peers and other members of her circle. Draco, husband of Iris Malfoy confused the heck out of her.

More than that, tomorrow she would be going back to England. And awaiting there was her in-laws, her own family and a country full of press. Everyone waiting to know how their honeymoon turned out.
