Accepting Chapter 12
Warning Signs
No one's POV (Ally Perspective)
"Please Austin. I can get to class on my own." She assured the worried blonde in front of her. They had five minutes before classes started and he seemed more worried about her getting hurt than her education.
"But-" He had started to protest before she raised a hand, signaling him to a silence. But he still continued to tap his foot rapidly and humming nervously. She was more annoyed then she was happy for his worry for her. They were barely dating and he's already overprotective.
"No buts. Now you stay here. And I go to class. Okay?" She asked. He nodded in agreement, but as soon as she turned around and started walking, she heard his not so stubble steps lurking behind her. She stopped and took every ounce in her not to scream. Instead she kept her cool. Remember the three C's she told herself. Cool, calm and collective.
"Austin..." Which came out more annoyed then it did calm, as she first intended.
"Sorry." He apologized, guilt filling his voice.
"Now, will you go to your class?" She paused for a moment before adding, "Without following me?"
"Yes Alls." He sighed.
"Good. See you soon babe." She goes up to him and softly kisses his cheek. His eyes light up and the smile on his grows as he walks the other direction lovestruck. Which was the opposite of where his class was. She chuckled lightly at the dumbfounded blonde and headed on to class.
He's such a puppy.
Well almost. She was abruptly stopped by a wall. A bright and colorful wall to be exact. She looked up to see the brightly colored redhead giving her a not so bright and colorful expression.
As if her instincts had kicked in, all the fears and worries she had, had resurfaced and were in full swing. She quietly prayed Austin will appear out of nowhere to save her but there was no sign of blonde. Meaning she had to fight her own battle. With one of her biggest fears.
A tall and angry redhead.
"H-hi Dez." Her voice comes out weak and nervous. Yep. There was no way she could ever escape or win this battle. Now she wishes she didn't convince the blond to leave her alone. Because right now, she doesn't want to be alone with Dez. Especially under the impression that he hates her. Which seems that she's not wrong. Otherwise he wouldn't be sucking the life from her eyes right now.
"Ally." He spits out her name like venom. She shivers at the tone of his voice.
"H-How are you?" She asks. Big mistake. The hard look in his blue eyes turn dark. A big contrast to his bright attire.
"What do you think?" He spats darkly.
"Um..." Her effort to stay strong was fading away as she started tear up. She was scared as hell. Oh god where's Austin? She thinks.
"Austin?" She whispers quietly. Another mistake.
He chuckles. "Your precious boyfriend isn't here."
"What do you want?" She chokes out.
"Stay away from him. He maybe in love you but that doesn't mean your his forever."
"And you think you're the one? But you aren't even into guys!" She says confused.
He leans down to her ear and whispers, "That's where you're wrong." And just like that, he's gone and the bell rings.
She walks into her History class with the craziest thought of them all.
Dez is... Gay? And for Austin?
At lunch she searches frantically for a mop of blonde hair. Millions of thoughts were running through her mind. Spotting one just a few feet away, she runs up to find exactly who she's looking for. She roughly shakes his shoulders and he turns around annoyed but immediately softens when he finds his girlfriend behind him.
"Hey-Whoa!" He shouts as she uses all her strength to pull him up.
"We need to talk." she says as she drags out of the cafeteria.
"What? Did I do something wrong?" He speaks as his voice fills with panic.
"No no. You didn't do anything wrong. I did." She sighs.
His frown deepens. "What did you do?" He asks softly.
"I should have let you walk me to class this morning. I ran into something... unexpected." She answers unsurely.
"What happened?" He asks as he holds her hand. She tries to speak but as soon as the memories fled her mind, tears quietly ran down her pale cheeks.
"It w-was so scary." She panted.
He pulls her into a warm hug and whispers "Alls. Don't cry. I'm here for you now. I won't leave you."
"Please don't leave me. Please never listen to me when I say to leave me alone." She whispers.
"Never." He assures.
He kept his promise when she walked out of her class that afternoon. He softly puts his arm around her pale shoulders and she instantly feels safe, as if nothing can hurt her. Well, hopefully nothing will hurt her.
Out of the corner of her eye, she sees him. Shooting daggers at her. She wraps her arms around Austin in hope she'll be fine. She looks up again to find the redhead gone.
"C'mon Austin. We have to hurry." She says as pushes fast to get to his car.
"Um.. Okay?" He answers confused.
She drags him to the car and rushes him to unlock the doors. Once they slip inside, Austin gives her a suspicious look. She feels his stare and sighs.
"What was that about?" He asked.
"I want to tell you. But I don't think you'll believe me." She whispers quietly.
He grabs her hand gently and says, "What makes you think I won't?" She bites her lip to keep the tears from slipping.
"Because you wouldn't believe that your best friend is threatening me." She spills.
"Dez? How? He doesn't do that kind of stuff." He looks at her like she's gone mad. And frankly, she feels like she has.
"Let's just say, I really wish you were there. It was just..." She stops as the tears and memories flood.
"Ally I-" He begins but he's soon cut off by a sob. Almost seconds later, she feels his arms wrap around her petite body. She sobbed into his chest. All she could think about was having Austin taken away from her all because she likes him. All because a guy she never thought would ever be interested in men would be the one to steal him. Of course Austin is no object and he should never be played with or used, but she feels she needs to make sure she doesn't lose him or something will go wrong.
And it's not a good thing.
Obviously.
"C-C-Can we go home now?" She asks softly.
He kisses her forehead and replies, "Yeah sure." His arms leaves her body so he can drive and she instantly misses the warmth as the cold wind from the windows flow into the car.
It was silence ride home but she liked it that way. A nice quiet-
"YOU GOT THAT JAMES DEAN DAYDREAM LOOK IN YOUR EYES!" Blasts through the radio and she looks up at the blonde jamming hard.
"Austin!" She whined.
He looked at her and smiled shamelessly. She hit him upside the head.
Needless to say, he turned down the radio and the urge to rub his head. Which he couldn't do yet because he was driving. So he rubbed his head against the cushion. And he glanced at her and frowned. He never has fun and she knows it.
Once they finally arrived home, and still feeling grumpy, he refused to open the door for her. Leaving her to do it on her own. She got out and glared at him. He shrugged.
As a result, she didn't give him a hug or anything. Nope. Until he grabbed her from behind, spun her, and kissed her straight on the lips. Unfortunately for her, she couldn't escape him. So when he pulled away, he leaned up to her ear. She froze as she felt his breath against her skin.
"Don't think you can leave without a kiss sweetheart." He whispered and then he looked at her immensely for a second before he pecked her lips one more time and let go of her altogether.
Leaving her stunned. She shook her head as he lead her to her home. After she said bye and shut the door. She sighed and thought,
Oh this boy is going to kill me.
