Royal Dangers Part 2

(Star City, California. The Quiver. March 1st, 11:03)

Perdita yawned as she woke up, and smelled something being cooked and walked out of the bedroom she was put in, wearing only her long-sleeved white shirt that was under her vest and her school uniform's skirt, yawning as she walked down.

She then saw the group was sitting in the main area, as John was snickering to himself, same with Mia as Batman looked at Green Arrow "What are you doing?"

"Making some of my dad's chili to help perk you guys up. Most of you were up last night, so I'm thinking this could be a good way to keep you awake for today." Arrow siad with a chuckle.

"...OK?" said Robin, confused as Spoiler just shrugged, her cloak behind her as she saw him finishing it up. "Is it almost done?"

"Yep. Enjoy." he said as he put it on bowls, as Werner walked in at this, looking confused.

"What are you cooking up?" asked Werner, raising an eyebrow.

"It's called 'Chili', your highness." Green Arrow said with a chuckle. "Think you two could eat some?"

"...Alright. Is this 'Chili' like a soup?" asked Perdita, curious as she walked up as Mia got out a few bottles of milk out and handed it out.

"What's the milk for?" asked Batman, confused.

"Oh, you'll see." Speedy said with a chuckle as she sat down on a counter to eat the chili and nods. "Yep, you did good again, Green Arrow."

Robin looked at the dark, red-tinted brown liquid with the bits of beef, beans, crackers and multi-tinted cheese. He shrugs as he grabbed a spoon and bit into it and took a bite, before his eyes bugged out as he swallowed and gagged a bit. "Holy crud that's hot..."

Spoiler ate some as well and choked a bit as she struggled to swallow. "OK, what did he put in this? Magma?"

"I'd say that's a safe bet." said Dinah, a scowl on her face as she tasted the spiciness of the chili itself.

"..." Wildcat, seeing this, slowly pushed the bowl away. "I don't want to waste my nine lives eatin' that, boy. My old stomach can't handle food that spicy. What humans can eat this?"

"I can." said Speedy, raising her hand at this.

"Same." said John as he ate.

"I'm good." said Green arrow as he ate.

"...That ain't insane or have their taste buds burnt off by eatin' this." said Wildcat flatly as he looked, to his shock, that Batman was eating it just fine. "...How the hell can YOU eat that?"

Batman just looked at him calmly before shrugging. "It's just chili, calm down." as he continued to eat it.

Perdita, seeing the reactions too the food, looked at it curiously before shrugging. She then put a napkin on her lap and took the soupspoon she was given and took a bite out of it...before shrugging. "Hmm, takes a lot like a Vlatvian Red Pepper soup."

"RED PEPPER?!" asked Robin in shock. "...What do you royal people eat?"

Werner took a bite out of his soup, before coughing at this. "Ugh..." He looked at Green Arrow, his eyes narrowing slightly at the over-spiced taste as he says "You put to much spices into the broth, archer...are you TRYING to burn my mouth?"

"If you want some milk, Speedy gave you some." He reminded them as the ones who did not like the food but tasted it each grabbed the bottle near them and took a drink out of it to sooth their mouths. Green Arrow rolled his eyes as he says "Wimps." as he continued to eat. Speedy just nods, agreeing.

"So, what is the plan of action?" asked Batman, looking at them calmly. "Amanda told us that an agent might be arriving soon. So we need to find a safe way to get these two there. You know of any routes that would be safe?"

"With Merlyn around? I think you're about as likely to get struck by lightning than find a safe place from him out in the open." Green Arrow said with a frown. "So unless your agent friends can get here without getting that psycho's eyeline, than they'll be safe."

"So what idea do you have?" asked Black Canary, curious now. "Do you got a jet we could use?"

"Hmm…not a jet. Oliver Queen only, not Green Arrow, uses my rich guy stuff. BUT I got something else." Arrow said with a smirk as he pressed a button…as two motorcycles came up: One dark green with black linings and the other dark red with yellow linings. "The Arrow-Bikes."

"…OK, I take it an 'Arrowmobile' would be ripping off Bats more?" Robin asked as Speedy rolled her eyes as she put her hood up.

"Real Funny, tough guy. Come on, lets find out where your friends are." Speedy said as she got onto her bike as the group went to Diggle, who was in front of what looked like a SWAT van with a stylized arrows on the sides.

"Come on, I'm driving." Said Diggle as he got on what looked like a all-black outfit with a hood as he put it over his head, and adjusted a pair of pistols on his sides.

"…So, what's your hero name?" asked Robin in a joking tone.

"They just call me…Digz." Said Diggle as he got to the driver's seat as the group got onto the back. "Come on, let's head out." AS the van started up as the three vechiles went through the opening as they went out into the streets of Star City.

Batman pressed a button on his cowl as he says "Miss Waller, are you there?"

"I'm here, Batman. What happened? I heard that the King bit the dust. What happened to the uncle and daughter?" asked Amanda on the other side.

"They're with us. We were able to meet up with Star City's local vigilante, who is helping us. Do you know where we are to meet our protector for them?"

"Yes. I got three agents heading out. They are lead by Agent Faraday. You should meet him at the main gate. He's a man with white hair by a skyscraper in Downtown star City.." Amanda explained as Batman canceled the connection.

"I know who to go to." Batman explained calmly. "It's a man known as Agent Faraday."

"Good. Where is he?" asked Wildcat.

"Agent Waller said that he was near a skyscraper in Down Town Star City."

"…THAT narrows it down." Robin said flatly as he pressed his ear piece as he says "Oracle, try to find out where a man named Agent Faraday is at?"

"Gotcha, Tim. And…got it. It's 5 miles northeast." Barbara said as Robin nods as he looked at the others.

"Hey Digs, tell Arrow and Speedy to head Northeast." Said Robin as Diggle looked behind him and nods at them.

(Later…)

(Outside a Warehouse in Star City. March 1st, 12:01)

The truck stopped as Arrow and Speedy stayed behind it, as Batman and the others went with Vertigo and Perdita over to three men dressed in black suits infront of a pitch white van with a black King Chess piece on the sides. The leader had pitch-white hair, dark brown eyes, and a faint scar on his chin, and also a pair of gloves on his hands.

"Agent Faraday?" Batman queered as the man just nods but he stayed silent. Vertigo looked at him suspiciously, as Perdita looked at them nervously.

"So I take it you're gonna bring these two somewhere safe?" asked Robin as Faraday nods.

"Yes…we are." Said Faraday, as Arrow looked up when he heard that, frowning at the way he said that.

"Now come on, your majesties." Said one of the other agents, as Batman looked around, as if expecting something.

Perdita walked over, as she was stopped by Vertigo, who said "Wait…how do I know we can trust you?"

"What do you mean, Count Vertigo? We're with the government, of course you can trust us. Now come on, we're gonna take you to Miss Waller." Said Faraday, grabbing Perdita as he walked ahead.

Werner looked at the others and nods as he walked ahead, as Black Canary watched them go, a look of concern on her face as she saw them go into the car, before seeing them drive off.

"Well, looks like they're gonna be in good hands." Said Wildcat with a nod as the sound of muffled yelling caught Batman's ears.

"Hmm?" Batman asked as he walked over to an alleyway, where he saw three men tied and gagged behind a dumpster, one of which looked a lot like Faraday, but only in a pair of white boxers and a white undershirt. Batman removed the gag and asks "Who are you?"

"I'm Agent King Faraday of Checkmate. I was here to pick up the Princess before goof with a weird-looking mask knocked me out. Next thing I know he becomes a copy of me when he grabbed my face." King explained as the group turned to where the car was going. "His name is Hannibal Bates, I believe…he's an assassin on the FBI's most wanted list. A changeling who can take a person's skills and appearance by skin contact."

Batman frowned at the name, recognizing it as his eyes narrowed darkly. He then turned to his team as he says, "Robin, call in Amanda and tell her what happened. We gotta catch them." He and the other heroes then ran back to the van.

"What happened?" Speedy asked, looking at the other heroes at this. She saw they looked like they were in a hurry, so she backed up and went back to her motorcycle.

"Go after them. We gave them to an imposter." Batman said as Diggle nods as he went into the driver's seat as Green Arrow patted his seat for Black Canary.

"Come on, I think you're canary cry can be a big help here. So you'll need to be able to use it." Green Arrow said as Black Canary sighed as she went onto his bike and gave him a look.

"Don't think this changes anything, Ollie." Dinah said as Green Arrow got his helmet on.

"A guy can dream, can't he?" he asked in a joking tone…that just lead to him getting smacked on the head. "Shutting up." He said as he revved up and drove after the black car with Speedy's bike and Diggle's car following suit.

Inside of the car, 'Faraday' chuckled as his appearance changed into a pitch-white humanoid with a baldhead and a featureless face with pitch black eyes and a opening for a mouth, and the suit still on him.

"Nice job, Hannibal. Merlyn would be pleased." Said one of the men, removing his wig and taking off the jacket, revealing a black tank top that revealed his dragon-styled tattoos as he removed his shoes, revealing he was about a foot shorter than the pitch-white man.

Perdita, who was tied up behind her uncle, asks "Who are you people?"

"We are former members of the League of Shadows, but these days you can call us…" The other man began as he put on what looked like a wrist-mounted machine gun, with a gray mask covering his face as he removed his jacket and pants, revealing a red and dark gray jumpsuit as he put on a black trench coat over it.

"The Star City Slayers." The pitch-white man said calmly. "We are lead by Merlyn the Archer…and we are his main enforcers…I am Hannibal Baits, known by the FBI as…Everyman."

"Constantine Drakon." Said the shorter man, cracking his knuckles as he put on a pair of sunglasses over his eyes.

"And I'm Floyd Lawton…but that name wouldn't matter…when you're dead, you'll know me as…Deadshot." Said the man in the jumpsuit as he looked outside and saw them following. "Ah crap…we got company."

"I told you to kill that idiot, Hannibal." Drakon said with a slight growl of annoyance as the featureless man glared at this.

"Don't start, pipsqueak…Deadshot, take them out." Said Everyman as their driver kept ahead as Floyd got onto the window and aimed his gun outside and began to fire at them, hitting the areas around them.

"Watch out!" said Green Arrow as he and Speedy drove around, making sure to dodge the bullets as they grazed the asphalt or objects around them.

"Great…Deadshot is here," growled Speedy as she looked at green Arrow "Which means Merlyn's little goon squad is involved in this now…"

"Figures, when he's hired, those idiots are with him…" Green Arrow said with a growl as he got his arrow out and aimed and fired at Deadshot, who moved back as the arrow missed him.

"We need to lose them." Said Floyd. "I say we get rid of one of these royals to be bait…I say the brat."

"No. We have to keep both of them safe…for now. Merlyn's orders." Drakon said to Floyd, who only rolled his eyes at this as he went to the back of their van as he got out a sniper rifle that looked custom made as he aimed it at them.

"Lets see them dodge this…" Floyd then fired the gun, which hit a tire on the van as it began to swerve and weave through the road.

Batman felt this as he says, "I'll be right back…" as he kicked the back door open as he climbed to the roof of the van as he glared ahead, as Floyd saw him.

"Well, well…looks like our rodent pal is here." Deadshot said with a bit of amusement in his tone.

"So, The Dark Knight is here, huh? Guess Bane is right…shoot him in the temple." Everyman said with a chuckle as Floyd nods as he aims again, as Batman saw there was a red dot on his chest as he frowned.

Batman got out what looked like his Batclaw as he shot it at a nearing sign as he went upward quickly, as Arrow saw this. Batman then flew into the air as the van was slowing down towards the end as Speedy went after Diggle's van.

Green Arrow then moved faster as he says "OK…gotta get closer…Dinah, mind speeding me up?" Dinah nods as she turned around and sent out a canary cry behind them to speed the motorcycle ahead as Green Arrow says "OK! THAT'S GOOD!" in a loud tone as he jumped off of the bike and onto the side of the van with an arrow, using it as a hook on the side as it stabbed through.

"Gah!" Said Everyman, seeing this. "Shake that idiot archer off!" as the sound of something coming on to the top of the van as he growled in annoyance. "Same goes for that rodent!"

The Driver nods as he tried to shake them off as Batman looked down at Green Arrow as he helped him up. The two nod as Batman got out what looked like a miniature blowtorch as he began to cut into the metal.

"Ah no you don't!" said Deadshot as he used his wrist-mounted gun and fired upward, as Perdita screamed as she tried to cover her ears as the gun was fired at the celing.

The two kept making sure to at least dodge the bullets as Green Arrow yelled out as he gripped his leg as he felt something hit him. He then growled as he saw the car was nearing one of the other warehouses. "Wait a minute…I know this part of town…"

"You do?" asked Batman as the driver quickly turned the van sharply, causing the two vigilantes to fall off and tumble on the ground as the three assassins came out of the van, with the driver staying inside to keep an eye on them as Dinah drove up on Green Arrow's bike.

"You alright?" She asked as she came over to them as Green Arrow nods as he rubbed his bleeding knee.

"Yeah…just grazed it, that's all." Green Arrow said as he could see someone in the distance as he went wide-eyed when he saw something. "Canary, move!" He said as he quickly moved her out of the way, as he yelled out as he was hit in the arm by something…a black arrow.

"ARROW!/OLLIE!" Batman and Black Canary said in shock at that as he gripped his shoulder in pain as the three assassins got out their weapons: Everyman took off his gloves as his hands glowed with an eerie purple coloring, Deadshot adjusted his gun as Drakon cracked his knuckles before going into a stance.

"Hello…Green Arrow…" said a voice as Merlyn came down at this, glaring down at the group with a Japanese woman dressed in a all-black uniform with a dragon-styled symbols on her chest and shoulders.

"Merlyn…and Shado…" growled Arrow as he glared upward. "Should have guessed you five would be here…"

"Indeed…and now…it's time for the Green Arrow to fall." Merlyn said with a dark chuckle as he got his bow out, as the three heroes glared at the five criminals as Vertigo and his niece watched from inside of the van, as Vertigo's eyes narrowed darkly at this.
