Royal Dangers Part 3

(Outside Merlyn's Hideout. Star City, California. March 1st, 14:03)

Merlyn chuckled at the three heroes as his eyes turned towards Green Arrow, saying "Can't use your bow with an arrow in your arm, can' you?" He asked with a smirk as Green Arrow broke a bit of the arrow off and bit onto the part that he broke off before, with a grunt, took the arrow out of his arm, arrowhead and all.

He grunted as he spat out the wooden arrow as he glared up. "Good move, I'll give you that…but I can still fight." As he withdrew his knife and got into a stance.

"…Shado? If you may." Merlyn said calmly as the woman nods as she got out a blade as well as she jumped down and glared at Green Arrow, who glared back. She then ran towards him, swinging her katana at him as he blocked it with a knife.

Drakon ran towards Batman, who ran as well as the slightly shorter man sent a kick at him, as Batman blocked it with a quick arm before sending a kick back at him. Batman then says "Still predictable, Drakon."

"Same with you, Dark Knight…" Drakon growled as he ran ahead, while Deadshot aimed at Batman from afar.

'Just get him in my sights, Drakon…' Deadshot thought as his eyes narrowed a bit, as Batman got out a small sphere and threw it down, creating a large smoke screen. "What the-?!"

Drakon tried to look through the smoke, but heard something as he caught a Batarang as he smirked. "Nice try, Batman…but toys won't stop me."

"Wait for it…" Batman said as Drakon heard the batarangs beep before it exploded in his hand, making him grunt as he was knocked down. Batman quickly ran over and picked up Drakon and tossed him out of the smoke screen as Deadshot tried to aim at him.

"Come on…" said Deadshot as he got ready to fire when…

"Back off, freak show." Said Black Canary as she sent out a Canary Cry at him, making him yell out as he was sent back and hit the car where Vertigo and Perdita.

"Ugh…OK Blondie…you're gonna be Swiss cheese when I'm done with you."

"NOT if I have anything to say about that." A voice said as Deadshot looked up to see Speedy driving her Motorcycle before she stood on it and fired an arrow right at him, which hit his gun, causing an explosion, which sent him flying back.

"…You know, there are MANY reasons why that shouldn't have worked…" Robin said as he zoomed in with Spoiler, glaring down at them as Wildcat was running over, panting a bit as he finally arrived.

"…Three children and an old man? This is too easy." Everyman said with a chuckle as he walked over, cracking his glowing knuckles as he advanced to Wildcat, who took a breath before going into a boxing stance. "What are you doing?"

"Why don't cha find out for yourself?" Wildcat asked with a sneer, glaring darkly at the man as he just laughed.

"You're joking right?" He asked as he walked over, glaring at the older hero. "You're a fossil, Wildcat…and I have no problem punching an old man." He then ran over and threw a punch, but Wildcat grabbed his arm and flipped him over.

"Had enough, youngster?" Wildcat asked as Everyman grabbed him by the face as he glowed bright purple, cringing as Everyman began to get him, as his facial structure changed into a copy of Ted's face as he smirked.

"Well…now I got all of your skills and abilities, Mr. Grant." Said Everyman as he smirked as he got into a stance as well, as Wildcat growled.

"Ya think you're so slick, eh?" Wildcat asked as he smirked. "Well…one downside of having my age."

"And what's that?" asked Everyman as Wildcat backed up, as Tim and Spoiler both jumped down and kicked him in the back, making him yell out in a lot of pain.

"People my age are more prone to more delicate bones." Wildcat said with a smirk as he glared at Everyman, who glared back as he ducked to the side as Wildcat yelled out in pain as he felt an arrow go into his shoulder.

"Gotcha, old man." Said Merlyn as he fired another arrow, as he yelled out again.

"Wildcat!" said Speedy as she ran ahead and fired an arrow at Merlyn, who ducked to the side as he saw Shado send a roundhouse kick at Green Arrow, who grunted as he glared darkly.

"…You've gotten sloppy these past few years, Arrow." Shado said with a scowl, glaring at him.

"Sorry to disappoint." Green Arrow said as he kicked her away as he says "But if you haven't noticed, Robin Dork over there shot me in the arm…and I mean the guy with the black copy of my costume, so keep you're cape on, kid." He told Robin, who just gave him a flat look at this as Spoiler got a few pods out.

"Hey Naruto Girl! Catch!" Said Spoiler as Shado turned and caught the pods with her hands.

"…Was that really you're best shot?" asked Shado as suddenly foam began to form. She yelled out as she tried to shake off the foam as Speedy fired an arrow…that popped out a boxing glove and hit Shado in the face, knocking down.

"And they said a boxing glove arrow was stupid." Speedy grinned as she looked at Robin with a smirk as he just gave an eye roll.

"Not in the mood, Speedy." Robin said as he saw Batman dodge from bullets from the reawaken Deadshot, as he grunted as he felt a bullet hit his arm.

"OK Batman…you and the blonde are the first to go…" said Deadshot as Green Arrow saw this as he got an arrow out with his good hand before getting his bow set with the arrow and began to pull the arrow back with his teeth before…he fired at Deadshot's gun, as it sparked.

"Wait, how did-GAH!" He yelled out as some electricity shocked him by the metal in his costume, as he growled in annoyance. He then got a pistol from his side as he aimed. "OK, that's it…I'm gonna-"

"No…I got them." Said Merlyn as he motions Deadshot and Everyman back, as he fired three arrows at the heroes, as they hit different spots. Suddenly wires came out as shockwaves came out, hitting all the heroes who were on the ground as they yelled out.

"Well, that was painless." Said Shado with a groan as she cut the foam off of her arm as she ripped it off of her.

"Agreed…" Drakon said as he got up and glared at them. "So, what do with them?"

"Easy…we kill the royals then we kill them." Merlyn said calmly as a figure walked up.

"I think not." Said a voice as the group turned and saw Vertigo glaring at them, as he glared darkly at them.

"Uncle Werner! Come back!" Said Perdita as Merlyn smirked and aimed his bow at her, as she looked at him with fear.

"Stand down, Count…or else your niece will die like your brother." Merlyn said with a smirk, as Vertigo just chuckled at the villains.

"I think not…" Werner said as his irises began to glow dark green as veins began to form around his eyes as psychic pulses formed out of his mind at the villains.

"Ugh…wha-what's happening to me…" Shado said as she began to grow disoriented as she fell to her knees, as Deadshot dropped his pistol as he fell down, a groan escaping his lips.

"What-what is he doing…" Everyman said as he held his stomach as he fell forward, coughing as he looked up with pain as Merlyn dropped his bow with a groan, glaring at him.

"What are you doing to us?" asked Merlyn, but his tone appeared forced and pained, but he was trying his best to intimidate at this moment. Vertigo just chuckled as his corneas began to turn darker as the veins began to pulsate on his face.

"Let's just say I have a…special talent. Now…REST!" Vertigo then sent out a pulse of mental energy at them, making them all yell out in pain as they passed out. He then walked over to Deadshot calmly and took out the keys from his pocket and unlocked his handcuffs and want to help Perdita as he unlocked her's as well.

"Tha-thank you, Uncle." Perdita said with shock, looking up at her uncle as the veins slowly went back into his head as he nods and kissed her head.

"Do not worry, my niece. I will not let them harm you." Vertigo said as he walked over and removed one of the arrows from the ground as the heroes groaned as they got up.

"Uh…thanks." Arrow said, rubbing his still injured arm as the others nod in agreement.

"…What did you do to them?" asked Batman, looking at Vertigo with a suspicious look.

"I have…grown up with a telepathic ability since I was 6 years old. I can tap into the minds of anyone who crosses me. But I couldn't control it as a child, so it caused me to go into a…disoriented sort of state." Vertigo explained. "I was fully able to control it at the age of 15."

"So you're a telepath like Aquaman and Martian Manhunter, huh? Ya know, that could have been helpful when you're brother was SHOT." Green Arrow pointed out with a flat tone.

"I can only use it on those I can see. When my brother was killed, the killer was out of my line of sight, so thus it would have been impossible for me to stop it." Vertigo countered, crossing his arms at this as he glared.

"…Whatever." Green Arrow said as he rolled his eyes while Batman looked at Perdita.

"She will still be a target and you can't always be her guardian at every moment. And if she comes home, she'll be a target." Batman said calmly.

"Then we can help with that." A voice said as Amanda Waller arrived with Agent Faraday, who was now dressed in his usual uniform with some CADMUS agents with them. "Take those assassins in." The agents nod as they handcuffed them.

"We can put Perdita into a protection program. We can place her in a home that we can entrust her with and make sure she is safe from harm. Is that alright with you, Mr. Vertigo?" Faraday asked calmly as Vertigo nods.

"Of course. But I shall watch over Vlativa from here on." Vertigo said calmly. "The people need to know that their royal family hasn't been extiquished and that we cannot be stopped."

"Alright. Your people need it's government." Amanda said with a nod as she motions for the League and the two royals to follow her. "Come on. We got some preparations to work on with the princess' home." The League nod as they followed after her into her helicopter with Green Arrow and his team, along with the royal family members.

Merlyn, after waking up, watched it go with a hidden smirk on his face as the door to the van closed it's doors, driving off.

(A few days later)

(Hall of Justice, Washington DC. March 4th, 11:23)

After a few days since the events in Star City, the heroes were watching the news as it showed the new King Werner Vertigo's coronation on national television as Perdita sat down next to Billy, wearing a different outfit: She was wearing a Princess Amethis T-shirt, a pair of jeans and now had dark brown hair and a pair of false glasses over her eyes.

Perdita listened to the news as she looked out the window at the rainy day, as Billy asks "You OK?" as she just sighed.

"I am…alright. Well, I do hope Uncle Werner will be a good king. He does care greatly for the people of Vlativa as my father did." Perdita said, as Billy nods.

"Lets hope so." Billy said as Batman looked at Perdita calmly.

"So, how is your new home life?" Superman asked, walking into the room at this time.

"I have come accustomed to the foster family. They are very kind people." Perdita said with a smile. "So, where is Green Arrow at?"

"Right here." A voice said as Green Arrow was in front of a window, a smirk on his face as a bandage was around his shoulder. "Hey Bats, I got an answer to that invite to the team…while I'm not sure how I'll help on this big team, I'll be glad to help anyway I can."

"Well…you are a bit of a wild card, I'll give you that…but we need someone to keep us honest." Batman said as the two shook hands.

"'sides, it'll be a good excuse to show you up." Green Arrow said with a smirk as he headed to the kitchen. "Well, as a way to celebrate, I'm makin' some of my chili." Robin, Spoiler and Wildcat all perked up at this.

"Gotta go!/I think my dad needs to talk to me/Need to check my medication." The three said at once as they left rather quickly.

"…What's with them?" hal asked as he and Flash walked in at this.

"Seriously, even I don't scramble out that fast." Flash said as Aquaman just chuckled at the sight.

In the kitchen, Green Arrow hummed as he got out a pot as he heard someone walk in. "Yes?" he asked as he turned and saw Black Canary walk up to him, wearing a more casual outfit: A blue jacket over a white button up shirt and a pair of jeans, smiling at him.

"Listen…about what happened a few days ago…when you took that arrow for me…thanks." Dinah said as Oliver just shrugs.

"Eh, it was nothing, really. I was just helping you out." Oliver said with a friendly smile. "Listen…about our past…think we can…bury the hatchet and start over?" He asked, putting a hand out for a handshake.

"Sure. Want to go to the old hang out from when we were teenagers?" Black Canary asked with a slight smirk on her face.

"Ah yes, Weisinger's Bar and Grill. Had some of the best shakes in Star City." Ollie said with a chuckle. "So…I take it it's a date?"

"Sure." Black Canary as she quickly adds "But as friends."

"Of course." Green arrow said as he got the ingredients out as he felt a peck on his cheek as Black Canary left. He just chuckled at this as he went to work. Perdita watched this scene and giggled at the scene before she left.

(Paradies Hauptstadt, Vlativa. Vertigo Castle. March 4th, 22:02)

Werner sighed as he walked into the King's bedroom of his castle. He had to spend most of the day at work with his servants to tell them of a new status quo there, as he sat down in a chair.

He looked at the lavish room, which had green and yellow curtains, a furred rug, long curtains over the bed and a flag of Vlativa, which had a green and yellow color scheme to it with a simple enough triangular design to it.

He then saw the bed and chuckled at the sight. "I take it you're happy to see me, my dear?" he asked as he walked over, removing his cloak as he smiled at the company on the bed. He chuckled as he says "So how did I get the presence of the esteemed Queen Bee of Biayla in my chambers?"

On the bed was a dark-skinned woman with long, flowing black hair, sapphire blue eyes, clad only in a pitch blue nightgown. "Of course, Werner. I am aware of our alliance will be quite…beneficial to both Vlativa and Biayla."

"…Funny, I thought you just enjoyed my company." Vertigo said as he sat down with the woman as the two shared a kiss. "ah Malika, it is good to see you."

"Ah, how sentimental." A voice said calmly as the two turned to see a towering figure standing in the shadows. "I give you the information for the assassins, so you give me what I want."

Malika just sighed as she says "Of course." She then got a slip of paper out and says "Here. Give this to a man named 'Brother Blood'. He'll have what you want. Just let him know I sent you."

The large figure walked out…revealing himself as Bane, the main agent of Ra's al Ghul himself. "Of course, your highness. I thank you for your conjoined coöperation. And in return…I shall make sure no one rivals your monarchies."

"Good. Now go on, brutish one." Vertigo said calmly as Bane nods as he left. He chuckled as he looked at the window. "…and who said that our type never wins? Champagne, my dear?" he asked as he walked up to get two glasses.

"Hmm…of course." Malika said with a chuckle as she laid down on the bed, smirking at him. "It can make our discussion even more…enjoyable. We can discuss our alliance later, for tonight…is a celebration." The two chuckled at this as the nighttime sky.

End of the Arc

OK, before anyone asks…yes. That is the Queen Bee we got to know from the Young Justice cartoon. I just gave her an Arabic name given that in the comics, her home was set in the Arabian/Iraqie area of Asia while Vlativa is set in Europe near Hungary and Germany.
