Expressions of awe and amazement filled the faces of Team Claymore. Standing before them was their dorm building's common room, which just so happened to be the size of a small restaurant. A massive wrap-around couch situated in front of a colossal flat screen TV, a dining room table long enough to accommodate 3 Team Claymores, several leather chairs arranged around an elegant wooden coffee table.

A tan-skinned boy with black hair and green eyes wearing a red t-shirt flopped down on the couch, amazed at how comfortable it was. "Ah, now this? This is paradise." he commented with a chuckle. Suddenly, a pink trail of light rushed past him, stirring up a gust of wind as it rushed past the dining room through a wooden door. After a few moments, a girl with pink hair and green eyes poked her head out of the same door.

"Dude, you gotta see this kitchen! It's massive in here!" she exclaimed with a smile before rushing back over to the crowd.

"Well, they certainly didn't cut any corners on luxury, did they?" asked another black-haired boy with grey eyes wearing a black bomber jacket as he sat down in one of the chairs.

"We certainly didn't." With a scream, the boy jumped up from the chair, adopting a fighting stance as he searched for the source of the voice. "My apologies for startling you." Suddenly, a humanoid figure appeared out of thin air. It took the form of a woman with shoulder-length brown hair and blue eyes, and dressed in a high-tech white and blue bodysuit. "I am Alexis, the Phoenix Institute's full-service AI assistant. A pleasure to meet you all."

The black-haired boy relaxed his stance. "You couldn't have introduced yourself earlier?" he asked.

"My apologies. I simply wanted to give you time to take in your surroundings." Izuku was flabbergasted at everything he was seeing. Most people assumed that tech like this was decades away, at the very least. Had he stepped into a hero school, or a sci-fi time travel story?! "Now, before you all head up to your dorm rooms to unpack, Mr. Fawkes highly recommends that you all introduce yourself and your Quirks to each other. So, if you would all please gather around we can get started."

The 10 students gathered around the wrap-around couch, some taking seats on the couch proper, others simply leaning against the back of it. After a moment, a girl with black hair and red eyes sighed. "Well, I guess I'll go first, then." she said as she stood up. "My name's Elizabeth Carson. My Quirk's Toxic Flame." She then proceeded to conjure up a small purple flame in the palm of her hand.

"They don't burn that hot, but they do have this toxin stuff that makes you feel like you're burning for a lot longer than normal. There's no way to make it go away, just gotta let it burn out on its own." she explained. Izuku immediately pulled out a notebook out of his suitcase, and began scribbling away, attracting the eyes of the others. "Uh, what are you doing?" Elizabeth asked.

"Uh, sorry. I just, I like learning about different Quirks, and I think yours is pretty cool, so I wanted to write it down. I'm sorry, is it bothering you? I can stop." Izuku replied.

"Uh, no, no, I'm not upset or anything. It's just…" Elizabeth stared at the flame in her hand. "...no one's ever really had anything good to say about my Quirk. Ya know, what kinda Quirk makes people feel like they're burning for days on end? What-what kind of hero does that?" Her face grew more somber as she spoke.

The other students sat in awkward silence around the couch for a few moments, until Elizabeth came to her senses and extinguished her flame. "Sorry, didn't mean to get so depressing there. Uh, who wants to go next?" she asked with a chuckle. After a second of hesitation, the boy who had flopped down on the couch earlier stood up.

"My name's Lucas Fulton. My Quirk lets me control playing cards, make them fly around and do all kinds of stuff." As a demonstration, he took a deck of cards out of a small box he was carrying, and made them fly around him as if they were planets in an orbit, before making them fly back into the box. After he sat down, another boy with long white hair and blue eyes stood up.

"I'm Maximallian Warner. They say my Quirk is called 'Toon', but I'm not really sure what that means." he said with a simple shrug.

"What do you mean you're 'not sure'?" the boy Alexis had scared asked.

"I've just never noticed anything special I can do." Max replied with another shrug. The boy and Izuku exchanged quizzed looks as Max returned to his seat. Once he was sat down, a massive boy who looked like an anthropomorphic t-rex took center stage. White hair stood on top of his head, and his eyes were burning a bright orange.

"Name's Dominic Grady, but y'all can call me 'Dom'. I, uh, I don't think I have to tell you what my Quirk is. I'm just a big T-Rex." After he was done, a short girl with silver hair and purple eyes took her turn.

"I'm Roxxane Wolfgang. My Quirk lets me amplify the vibration of guitar strings to turn them into sonic attacks. It works with any string instrument, but guitars have always worked the best for me." Once she had said her piece, another girl, average height this time, who had gray hair and sapphire eyes took her turn.

"My name is Krystal Lucent. I can compress the dust in the air into crystal-like constructs. I can make them into any shape and size I want." she explained as she held her palm, a pink diamond taking shape within it. "And no, they're not worth anything. So don't ask." Max looked away awkwardly upon hearing that.

After Krystal returned to her seat, a boy with blonde hair and bright green eyes stood up from his seat. "My name's John Wheeler. I can turn into Hot Wheels cars. Like, real Hot Wheels cars, not the little ones like you play with on a track." Dom sneered at hearing that. "You don't believe me?"

"No, I don't. I've seen a few wierd Quirks, but I draw the line there." John simply rolled his eyes, and reached into his pulling, pulling out a little green Hot Wheels Street Stealth motorcycle, and placed it on the table. He then took a step back, making sure the area around him was clear.

Suddenly, his body began to morph and change color. In a matter of seconds, his body had transformed into a real Street Stealth that looked just like the one on the table, except with real tires, a working headlight, and a fully functional engine, which John proved by revving to the redline. Everyone, including Dom, went wide-eyed, with Izuku smiling like a maniac as John morphed back into his human form.

"Holy crap, that's an awesome Quirk! What else can your transformations do?! How many different cars can you turn into?! If you turn into a plane, can you actually fly?!" Izuku got up close to John and began to bombard him with questions.

"Whoa, whoa, shift into 1st there, pal. I can only take one question at a time!" John interrupted as he threw his hands up in defense. Izuku, realizing his mistake, quickly backed away from him.

"I-I'm so sorry, Wheeler! I just get so excited when it comes to learning about Quirks, sometimes I just act before I think! I didn't mean to-!"

"Hey, chill, dude. I never said I didn't appreciate the questions! Just, reel it in next time, 'kay?" John reassured his classmate as he put a hand on his shoulder with a warm smile. Izuku returned the smile.

"Right, sorry."

"Hey, what about you, buddy? What's your Quirk?" asked John as he collected his toy and returned to his seat.

"Me? Uh, I'm Izuku Midoriya. My Quirk's called Adrenaline Rush. Basically, the more adrenaline I produce, the stronger I can become. I still don't have a lot of control over it though, so my output is pretty limited." After he finished with his explanation, the pink haired girl stood up.

"I'm Rose Hills. My Quirk is called Supercharge. I can amplify my body's momentum to give me super speed." she explained. The boy in the black jacket perked up when he heard her name.

"Wait a minute... Are, are you Rose Runner?!" Rose seemed surprised to be recognized by him. "Dude, I am such a big fan! I used your videos to help me with my own parkour training!"

"Uh, is this girl a big deal?" asked John.

"Big deal?! She made national headlines! She's the one who busted up that big animal trafficking ring a couple years ago! And she streamed the whole thing live!"

"Well, I'm, uh, glad I could help. Um, what about you?" Rose asked. The boy's expression quickly soured at her question.

"You're the last one." said Lucas. The boy took a deep breath, hanging his head as he muttered something under his breath. After a few moments, he sighed, putting his hands in his pockets.

"Alright. My name is Westley Smith. And I'm Quirkless."

Cue the sound of a record scratching. Elizabeth turned to look at Max, who had somehow acquired a vinyl record player. The boy looked back at his classmate. "What?"

Izuku's pen fell from his hand as a shocked expression formed on his face. "Q-Quirkless?"

Westley let out a sigh. "Yep. Figured that was gonna happen."
