Earthshaking War part 3

(Markovburg, Markovia. 5:03 (Markovia time))

The jet began to have its decent into the early morning of Markovburg, the capital city. It was a small city by most capitals standards, but it was grand with various architecture and many streets laid with cars on the move.

"OK…Amanda has created a cover for you." Cheshire told the League and Titans. "They told the king that one of you is a national hero back home, and thus, is honoring her during a celebration here. Meanwhile, she's having Snapper keep an eye on the others."

Superman nods as Cyborg pressed a button on his wrist as holographic images of Zatanna, Flash, Captain Marvel, Aquaman, Samurai and Black Canary. "We're checking in, you guys doing OK?"

"Yeah. Green Jeans and I just took care of the Weather Wizard. Turns out that his wand had exploded, and now he can actually manipulate the weather. Freak accidents…they are suddenly becoming less 'accidents' and more 'scientific freak experiments.'" Flash sighed at this, shrugging at this. He grunts a bit as he says, "Gotta go. Lantern just took a wind blast. Be back in a Flash." The others groaned at that bad pun, as General Lane just rolled his eyes in annoyance at this.

Zatanna's hologram suddenly ducked as she says, "Etrigan and I are still against Mala the Mystic…and is currently wearing the amulet. Luckily Blue Devil and Constantine are here to help us. Uh…gotta call you back, Devil is heading right at ME-AH!" The connection was timed out at that as Cyborg cringed.

"…Anyone else?" Cyborg asked sheepishly as Supergirl groaned a bit at that as Alchimia snickered a bit but was jabbed in the sides by Starfire, making him cringe.

"So much for invulnerable armor…" Alchmia muttered as Aquaman looks at Cyborg calmly.

"Aqualad and I have stopped The Fisherman's plot of poaching some of the endangered sea life near the Atlantic coast." Aquaman said as Captain Marvel chuckled.

"I still find it odd that you got a villain called the Fisherman…just saying." Captain Marvel put his hands up at this as he could swear he saw a glare from Aquaman. "Anyway…I just got off of a battle with a infamous killer who hid out here in Fawcett named 'Oom the Mighty'. He killed one of our local cops a few years back. The dude sent me down main street with one smack…I was lucky Tawny backed me up."

"Good job with your first solo mission, Captain." Superman said iwht a nod as Wonder Woman nods in agreement as Marvel rubbed his head, faintly blushing from the praise.

"Don't let it go to your head, you still got a long way to go." Batman said with a calm but good-natured tone as Captain Marvel nods.

"Don't let him get to ya, Rookie. He's like that with everyone." Nightwing said as Green arrow snickered a bit at that remark after Batman gave his adopted son an annoyed glance.

"Always the charmer, eh Bats? Anyway, it turned out we were needed after all. Wildcat, Robin, Spoiler, Speedy and I went up against Basil Karlo. You know, Clayface? Also…Batman, Spoiler wants you to know you are paying for the cleaning on her cloak." Black Canary said, as some chuckling is heard.

"I have taken out my threat here in Tokyo. I am going to stay in Japan for now until I am told I am needed in America. I am a Leaguer, yes, but I am still needed here." Samurai explained as Batman nods.

"We can understand that." Batman said with a nod as General Lane rolled his eyes as the jet landed with Martian Manhunter and Gear landing outside, but as Raven got out, she looked up and flew off.

"I'll be right back…I sensed something." Raven said as she put her hood up and flew into the shadows and vanished.

"Where is she going? That's not in the plan." Lane said with an annoyed tone as Cyborg put his hands up.

"Cool ya jets, General. Raven usually has good intentions, so don't think she's just trying to ditch us." Cyborg said as he looks around, his robotic eye gleaming a bit as he analyzed the area. "OK…my sensors aren't picking up any hostiles."

Superman and Supergirl looked around as well as Superman say, "I don't see anyone that can be seen as a threat either."

Martian Manhunter concentrated as he nods to the others, "And I do not sense any mind, cloaked or otherwise. We are safe."

"Good." Said a voice as Gregor walked up, smiling as he gave a salute. "I am King Gregor." He then saw Terra and smiled as he suddenly looked shocked as he asks, "Tara…?"

'…hey Greg…" said Tara nervously before she was suddenly swept up in a hug, which she quickly returned. "I am SO sorry for leaving…"

"No my dear sister…I am sorry for putting pressure on you and Brion…" Gregor said as he let go, looking at her with a lot of concern.

Batman looked curious as the others followed after him, as Nightwing asks, "So you are Terra's older brother?"

"That is correct. I am the oldest, and Brion is the middle child. Tara here is the youngest." Gregor said as Tara followed after them as he lead them inside as J'onn closed the door behind everyone.

"OK, I gotta ask…WHAT is the plan?" Asked Gear, looking at everyone with a curious look.

Gregor sighed a bit as he lead them down the stairs, looking up at this. "the HIVE are preparing for a battle…and it seems that they had hired assassins. This stranger called only 'The Creator' used these odd…creatures."

"A creature? Like what?" Wonder Woman asked as Gregor lead them to a large door. Gregor opened the door, as the group looked in shock at what they saw.

"My God…" Nightwing muttered in shock as there was an examination table with a strange creature draped with a large sheet. "What is that?"

"This…is what knocked out Geo-force. He's almost healed, but it will take awhile." Said a voice as the woman walked up, looking at the group as she adjusted her glasses.

"Dr. jace!" said Terra with a wave as the woman saw her and gave a soft smile.

"Princess Tara, it's good to see you again.' Dr. Jace said with a nod as Mr. Israel walked in and nods.

"Hello Wonder Woman, I haven't seen you since the Appelaxian incident." The arab superhero smiled as Wonder Woman gave a smile back.

"It's good to see you as well." Wonder Woman nods as she looks at the creature as Dr. Jace removed the sheet, revealing the beast, making everyone recoil in surprise except for Jace and Gregor.

The creature on it appeared to be a strange amalgamation of animal parts: the body seemed to be similar in build to a rhinoceros with faint golden fur with dark gray skin on it, clawed paw-like pads with it, a lion-like tail and a large head with a thick gray mane with a lion-like head with the mussle-like shape of a rhino with the horns coming out.

"What is that…?" asked Beast Boy, looking at the creature curiously. "This looks like a complete mix between Lion and Rhino…how is this even possible?"

"Alchemy." Wonder Woman scowled a she walked up, followed by Alchimia.

"What do you mean?" Dr. Jace asked, looking at the oddity with a raised eyebrow.

"You see, there is a…dark practice in Alchemy that involves creating Chimeras. Very few can do this…well, until Gene Spicing came into play. Those chemical understandings help make this quiet easier." Alchimia explains as Batman nods.

"I have first-hand experience with gene splicing villains…they got powers from animals from an unknown force…I believe this 'Creator' could easily be that source." Batman frowned. 'And to think, Langstrom worked so hard to get rid of this…'

Manhunter looked over the creature, a frown on his face as he says, "A creature…a living thing…created to be a weapon…sickening." He gained a scowl, his eyes glowing faintly.

Cyborg looked it over, analyzing it up and down as Gear did the same. "Hmm…it seems to be giving off a low level radiation…" Cyborg frowned, as he adds, "It's non lethal, but it's noticeable on this thing."

"Looks like the same stuff as that Quantum juice that Icon showed us in Dakota." Nightwing said, seeing the readings for himself.

"So Queen Bee bought this 'Quantium Juice' to make sins against nature?" Mr. Israel asked, looking at the creature with a scowl.

"Seems so…we saw a LOT of what it could do back in Dakota…it's likely it had something…about it that could give it powers." Said Beast Boy. "Did it di anything weird?"

"Hmm…well, it could shoot out this odd energy out of it's horn when it was still breathing…after it fired down Geo-Force, we were able to get a few shots through it's hide before it fell, however."

"Hmm…so a laser horn, huh?" Asked Nightwing, looking confused at this as Batman got a knife and began to cut off a small part of the horn to study it with one of the near by lab tables, putting it under a microscope as the others looked at the creature with some concern, unsure of what it was that made that thing before the sound of wind forming as a shadowy form came in.

Out came Raven, as hse asks, "I felt your energy here…" her hood was down as she had someone under her cloak, as she supported the body with her arms. "Is there anyone with medical aid?"

"What's wrong, Raven?" Nightwing asked, curious as Raven moved her cloak, revealing…Jinx! The Hex Witch groaned a bit as she a noticeable wound was bleeding, as her black top absorbed most of it.

"Why did you bring her here?!" asked General Lane, now furious as Cheshire looked confused.

"I used my powers to read her mind…I could barely make out most of it because of the pain or something…but I did saw what caused the wound: Deathstroke shot her because she was going against their plan." Said Raven as Manhunter came up and pressed his hand on her head to read her mind.

Manhunter than gave a yell out in pain as he recoiled, as Superman says, "J'onn, what's wrong?"

"ugh…I…apologize, Kal-El…" Manhunter said, using Superman's alien name as a way to hide his civilian identity. "Ugh…It appears that there are many mental barriers surrounding her mind. But I did see a glimpse…and it is true. Deathstroke was the one who did this."

"Peh, then why not just leave her?" Dr. Jace asked with a scowl. "She was an enemy to Markovia."

"Ugh…then get me some bandages or something. I'll patch her up myself." Raven said, annoyed as she went to get Jinx medical attention.

"…What was that about?" Gregor asked, now confused as Tara sighed, looking down at this as Nightwing looked up.

"Where do you keep your medical supplies here?" Nightwing asked, as General Lane looked at him with surprise as Jace, equally confused, pointed to a large cabinet as Beast Boy went over and got some bandages and cleaning rags out and left the room as well.

"Why are you going to help the enemy?" Lane asked, now annoyed as Batman looked up calmly.

"Our job is to make sure no lives are wasted here…good or bad." Batman said calmly. "By technicality, she would be a prisoner since she was a hostile on Markovian soil."

"He is correct. And prisoners are to be given medical attention. We are not savages, after all." Gregor said as he looked to where they went. "Plus that girl could be our only chance to stop HIVE and the Queen…if not, Markovia may be in danger."

In the other room, Beast Boy came in and gave her the bandages. "Here, Rae." BB said as the witch nods as she moved the shirt a bit to get to the wound, concentrating as a black aura came from inside as the bullet was removed, making Jinx cringe a bit. Raven then stood up as she pressed her hand on the wound after removing the bullet, her hands glowing a blue hue.

Jinx groaned as she opened her eye and saw this, confusion seen through the pain. 'Wha…why…why is she helping me?' she thought, confused as she started to feel the pain numbing as her wound was healed enough to null the pain as Raven cleaned the wound and put on some bandages, panting a bit as Beast boy gave her help.

After patching her up, Raven began to stagger out, cringing faintly as she rubbed a spot near her stomach, as Garfield asks, "How come you didn't just close it all the way?"

"Ugh…would have taken too much energy. I healed it enough…to allow her body to do the rest." Raven expained as she sat down, panting a bit from the exhaustion of the healing magic in question.

"I'll head back to the others…you just rest." Beast Boy said with concern as she just nods, groaning a bit as Garfield quickly left the room, going back to the others as footsteps were arriving.

"Ah, he is awake now." Dr. Jace said with a small smile as Gregor and Tara looked up as they saw Geo-Force walking in, putting back on what appeared to be brown and yellow jumpsuit that had half of his face covered with a mask, a 'GF' insignia on his chest, dark brown boots and gloves and what appeared to be a necklace of some kind around his neck, as Tara grew a big grin as she ran over and tackled the taller young man into a hug, making him chuckle.

"Brion, you're OK!" Tara said with a laugh as the older man spun his sister around, both laughing as Gregor chuckled in amusement at this scene as the Titans and Leaguers present cracked small smiles.

"So he's the prince, huh?" Alchimia asked, as Supergirl just shrugs.

"Seems to be a pretty friendly guy." Kara said with a chuckle as Brion put Terra back down, both still chuckling a bit.

Brion looked up at the Titans and gave a friendly smile as he walked over and put a hand out for Nightwing. "Nightwing, yes?" The former Robin nods as the two shook hands. "Thank you for taking care of my sister, Titans."

"It's our pleasure, sir." Starfire said with a smile. "She is a dear friend to all of us."

"Not to mention she saved our Asses plenty of times. She's defiantly onej of our biggest power houses." Red Arrow said with a smirk, as Tara blushed at the praise of the red-haried archer.

"Eh, I'm not that tough. Brion here is 10-times stronger than me." Tara said as Brion shrugs.

"Ah, that is not true, little sister." Brion said as Dr. Jace rolled her eyes.

"By technicality, she is correct. While she has a mastery of her Geokinesis, Prince Brion can do that along with Gravity manipulation that gives you enhanced strength, durability, flight and force field projection. That is not even mentioning your Heat-bursts that are specifically created from siphoning the heat of the earth's core itself into attacks, and not to mention your healing factor." Dr. Jace explained, as Beast Boy blinked at this.

"…does she ALWAYS spout out random amounts of information like that?" Green Arrow asked Tara, looking very confused at this as Tara just shrugs.

"She can get carried away." Brion shrugs as he cracks his knuckles. "Now, lets see where those Biyalian Bee people are now. Lets see how well they can do when they get sent to the stratosphere."

"Easy there, blondie." Roy warned as Cheshire walked up at this.

"We gotta have a plan, especially if those Darwinian Nightmares are running around." Cheshire said, pointing to the monster as Brion looked at it before shrugging.

"It was only a flesh wound, it wouldn't do all that much." Geo-force shrugged as Nightwing muttered something on the lines of 'You were put into healing.'

"I doubt that was the case." Batman said, stepping back at this. "The ivory is laced with this Quantum juice…it seems this creature was mutated along with mixed together. So it's likely there are more of these creatures to worry about." Batman said with a frown as Raven walked in, rubbing her side a bit from discomfort.

"So a group of Bang Baby chimeras, huh?" Static said, crossing his arms at this. "Man, this super hero business is a LOT more dangerous…I'm gonna need a better outfit than this."

"Dr. Jace can help with that. She designed my costume." Geo-Force as Static looked at it oddly.

"…No offense, but aren't Spandex a bit…old-fashion?" Static asked, confused as Tara cringed at this.

"here it comes.." Tara muttered as Dr. Jace walked up at this, really angry at that accusation.

"It is NOT Spandex. It's a high-density smart-fabric of my own design that helps Prince Brion better use his powers without damaging it." She said, glaring at the younger hero as he put his hands up.

"Whoa, whoa! Calm down there, Doc!" Static quickly said as Jace sighed as she grabs him by the back of his jacket and leads him on.

'Come on. I'll make you a costume that would better fit this area. And you can even tell me how you want it designed." Dr. Jace said as she lead him to the back area, as Superman looked at Geo-force with a raised eyebrow, as the Markov family just shrugged at this.

"Man, she must have been a terror growing up with." Cyborg said, watching her go.

"Kind of reminds me of Mento…only she's a girl…and doesn't psychic powers." Beast Boy said, thinking it over. He then looks at Tara and asks, "Left because she was too over-bearing?"

"…small part of the reason, the other reason was that a lot of our generals and one of the local barons was putting a LOT of pressure on brion and me." Tara said with a shrug.

"Eyeah…that's part of the reason why I left the Doom Patrol." Beast boy said with a sheepish look. "OK, it was mainly to go to college, but still." Nightwing and Red arrow both rolled their eyes at this as Cheshire looked to where Jinx went as Cyborg sat down.

"OK…so, what's the plan?" Cyborg asked, looking at the others with as they all looked unsure, but then heard the door open as Raven came in, holding an item in her hand: A covered CD-ROM.

"This is what I found on Nicole when I first found her Cyborg, think you can play it?" raven asked, as she handed it to him as he nods.

Cyborg put the CD Rom into his arm as a holographic screen came up as Deathstroke's image appeared in it. "Deathstroke." Nightwing said, his eyes narrowing as the other Titans glared at this.

"Greetings. This is a message for the Markovian royal family. The HIVE is prepared to take your kingdom by force. There is no need to resist, for it's futile to even attempt to. So I will only give this warning once: Surrender now and we will show you why we are to be feared. After all…as some of these members like to put it, 'shake the hive, you release the swarm." Deathstroke said as the video stopped.

"Hmm…take it back a bit. Maybe we can find out where they are hiding." Batman said as Cyborg moved back a bit as Brion looked over the screen.

"Hmm…I think that's one of the old bases from World War II…it looks like the ones from our grandfather's pictures…Zoom into that symbol over there." He pointed to the corner from where Deathstroke was at as Cyborg zoomed in, showing off a stylized 'M' with a '12-27'

"Lets see…" Nightwing as he looked it over and nods as he got his holographic graphics up as he rubs his chin, before he smirked as he says, "Got it. It's the Aparo Barr Base. It was used by King Gustov Markov's base of operation in World War II against the Nazis. It's in the mountains, specifically Mount. Taranova."

"hmm…guess that makes our plan clear." Gregor said, crossing his arms at this. "we need to get to that base, and fast."

"if we all go, they'll likely just attack the city." Superman pointed out, rubbing his chin.

"Then we split up." Batman said, getting up at this. "general Lane, I'll need your help with this operation."

"Right." Lane said with a nod, but was frowning as he said it. "OK…I'll split the teams up as follows: The best for stealth will go to the base and take them out there while those not so good will stay here and help protect the city."

"So that follows as?" raven asked, curious.

"The heroes who will stay will be as follows: Geo-Force, Terra, Superman, Supergirl, Manhunter, Wonder Woman, Mr. Israel, Beast Boy, Starfire, Gear and Static." General Lane, as Superman nods at this.

"Sounds fair." Superman said with a nod. "And everyone else will go to the base?"

"Makes sense…" Batman said with a nod as he looks at Gear. "Gear, you stay here with the Doctor and the king. Your technopathy will be a bigger aid here. For now, help dr. Jace with Static."

"Gotcha, Bats." Gear said with a nod as he headed to the lab where Dr. Jace took Virgil.

"And what of Jinx?" Asked Martian Manhunter, looking to where Jinx was resting.

"When she wakes up, we'll interrogate her." Gregor said, crossing his arms as he looked there as well. "But for now, lets make a plan…while we can." They all nod at this, coming together to make a plan.

Unaware that Jinx was listening in, holding the bandage-covered area as she looked uneasy, groaning a bit from a headache. 'Psimon is going to get it…he can count on that.' As she looked out the door and at the group, a plan of her own forming.

(Meanwhile)

At the base where the HIVE were hiding, Queen Bee, via communication device, was speaking to her followers. "Soon…our time will begin." Queen Bee said as the warriors all cheered. "My friends and I have smuggled over weapons and transport so you will be better equipped to take on the Markovian government…and with the aid of the Metahumans in this little cabal, we shall be victorious."

The Hives all cheered as they began to chant out 'Queen Bee' in their native tongue, as she smirked. Deathstroke looked over this with the other meta-humans present, chuckling as he watched this with his mask off, revealing his grayed hair self and his eyepatch over his right eye. "All according to plan, Master al Ghul." He said into his communicator.

"Good Slade…and knowing this event, Wayne and his little playmates are likely to come…you know what to do." Ra's said as Slade smirks.

"Hmm…this should be interesting…" He said as he put his mask back on. "It has been awhile since we had a proper talk." He chuckled at this as the creator stayed in the darkness, as he looks up.

"It is time for my newest experiments to come out…" He said with a wheezing laugh as a group of shadows came into the form of cages, as a reptilian-looking bear roared out as a feline-like serpent hissed in anger, as Psimon looked down at the other HIVE members, a dark smirk forming as his eyes glowed yellow as a strange symbol formed on his forehead, a chuckle escaping as a plan was shared with the leaders via his telepathy.

"Soon Markovia shall fall to the HIVE's mighty swarm…and soon, the whole world will join us and be our own empire." Queen bee finished as her followers all cheered at this.
