A/N; There is a rustling in the bushes behind you and you turn around in just in time to see a pack of Vermicious Knids jump out at you. You sit still, paralyzed by the thought that this might be, in fact, your last day on this or any planet. Then you notice they're squeezing themselves into shapes.
N-O-T Spells out the first three.
M-I-N-E Spells out the next four.
You breath a sigh of relief, its just another disclaimer. So you turn to the audience with a bright and shining smile and say. "Do I look like I make any money off of this?"
It was over an hour later when Mirwana sensed her brother's return. It couldn't have come soon enough for Scrub, who was getting anxious and overly twitchy. She never did learn how to be patient for a long time and sitting still had taken its toll on her.
Sarah, on the other hand, had been doing fine up until a few minutes before the White Queen had announced her brother's arrival. She was about to meet an Aboveground celebrity that she'd barely heard about, much less seen. When Scrub had mention his reclusive nature, she hadn't been exaggerating at all. The man seemed to loathe simple human contact and public appearances, but astonishingly he seemed willing to help them all. Sarah found this incredibly fishy and said so, but Scrub had dismissed her suspicions and told her she was sure that Willy was assisting them out of the goodness of his heart. Sarah was not so naïve and believed that most, if not all, human beings would only come to the aid of practical strangers if there was a possibility they would gain something out of it.
Hatter was also suspicious of the man who was supposedly coming to help them. He wondered if the reason this Wonka fellow was so keen on coming was that he had...feelings for Scrub. Feelings which Hatter was sure that Scrub was ignorant of. Not that he cared if someone had a crush on his good friend, after all, he didn't have any feelings for her himself, beyond friendship anyway...did he? He looked at Scrub, who was constantly shifting in her seat and stealing eager glances at the door. She was extremely excited to meet the man that she'd talked to on the phone. From her earlier conversation, he had deduced that she'd not seen him in a long time.
"What's taking so long?!" Scrub demanded in a frustrated voice. "He's in the castle, ain't he?"
"Yes, he just has to take the time to be approved and inspected by my brother and certain other members of Underland, afterwards, he may come straight here." Mirwana answered. "It won't be but a few minutes more and will be up here and you can smother him with attention to your heart's content."
"Oh, I can smother him?" Scrub grinned and Sarah could tell she was probably planning a football tackle-esque hug for the future guest. She almost felt pity for the man. Almost. Mostly she was just privately amused. " Lovely."
They collectively waited for about fifteen minutes more. Sarah began to worry slightly about Scrub's constant state of agitation, if the girl didn't stop shifting like that, she was bound to get a very uncomfortable rash. However, just as she was about to get up and strap her friend to the chair, the door opened up.
In the doorway was a tall, pale man with a top hat, cane and a very weird haircut. He wore a strange pair of sunglasses, but took them off and stuck them in his pocket upon entering. He was smartly dressed and at his throat was a pin in the shape of a loopy 'W'. He swept his eyes around the room until they rested on Scrub. He cleared his throat. "Good morning starshine! The earth says hello!" His voice was not as deep as some men's, Sarah noticed.
"Willy!" Breathed Scrub as she bounded up to the strange man and pulled him into a strangling hug. "I missed you." She said into his shoulder. He hugged her back awkwardly, his cheeks flushing pink when she stepped away and laughed. "You still smell like peanuts." She said with a grin.
He smiled widely in return, flashing the whitest, most perfect teeth Sarah had ever seen. "Thank you."
Jareth stepped into the room and stood behind . He had a frown and he was staring intently at the chocolatier. Sarah caught his eye and he gave a jerk with his chin towards the two reunited friends. Scrub was staring up at Willy, starry-eyed, and he was gazing back at her with a ferocious intensity. "You do realize I'm going to have to make sure its you." Scrub said with a twinkle in her eyes.
"Ditto." He replied. "Kangaroos don't hop backwards."
"And mice can't read the dictionary." Sarah stared at them, confused at the interaction that was going on.
"Are you hap to the jive?" Willy asked, his violet eyes focused on the girl. Sarah thought that she might understand a bit of what they were saying. Were they talking sixties retro? Seventies disco?
"Can you dig what I'm layin' down?" She asked in reply.
"I knew that you could." He confirmed
"Slide me some skin, soul brother." Scrub held out her hand for a high five and they went into a complicated series of moves. They high-fived each other, touched fists, bumped hips and concluded with a crossed, double handshake. They were both laughing and Sarah, out of instinct, turned so that she could see what Tarrant was making of this. His big green eyes were a bit more yellow than usual and his fists were clenched. He didn't even notice when Chessur slipped up behind him and smoothly stole his beloved hat.
"So, should I start the introductions?" Scrub inquired of Mirwana, unsure of what to do now that he was here. She took Mirwana's nod as the go-ahead. "Okay, so everybody, this is Willy Wonka. You guys don't know him because he's only a celebrity in our world. He's famous for his simply scrumdidilyumptious chocolate and he owns the biggest chocolate factory in the world. It's fifty times as big as any other!" Willy looked off to the side, blushed a bit, and cleared his throat. "What? It's not bragging if it's true." She scolded. "Beowulf himself said that, you know." She proceeded to tell him everyone's name, but left Hatter for last.
"And this is Tarrant." She said happily. "He is ranked right up there with you on my Awesomeocity Scale, he's got a ten, too!"
"Oh, really?" Willy looked sceptically at Hatter. He didn't like competition, rather it concerned the chocolate market or the attentions of a good friend. He'd grown up an only child, so he did not share well. However, for Scrub's benefit, he forced a grin and tipped his hat in a similar way as he had when greeting the other members of the party.
"Yeah." She clapped her hands together and smiled at the room full of people. "So now that we're all acquainted, I think that it would be a good time to show them the Elevator, don't you?"
