OK, here's the next part of this arc. Everyone, enjoy. And remember, I do not own any of the characters except for a few OCs. All the other characters belong to their respective owners.

The Human Factor Part 2

(3 Years ago. Harlem, New York. New York CADMUS facility. April 30th, 12:03)

In a hospital room, Silas was glaring at a man who was in a room with him as scientists were putting the finishing touches on something. "Listen here, Desmond, what the hell do you think you were doing!?"

"I don't know what you are talking about." Said the man in front of him, Mark Desmond. Desmond was a thin man with a strong-looking chin, long brown hair tied in a ponytail and a pair of wire-rim glasses over his eyes, his dark brown eyes narrowing under them.

"You had been avoiding me for weeks now and you only came here because your boss made you." Silas said, pointing to a slightly younger Amanda Waller with Faraday, adjusting his sunglasses as he looked inside.

"Desmond, enough." Amanda said, walking over as she gave him a look. "I know what you were doing. I found out about it the hard way when I looked it over your notes: I saw the robotics that you had Morrow give you and you also had that formula you're making."

"The Blockbuster, yes. What about it?" Mark said, crossing his arms at this.

"I've looked into it; you think you can sneak that under my radar that you had plans to sell them to our enemies?" Amanda asked, giving him a glare as Mark went wide-eyed. "And if I heard right, your little brother works at STAR and gave you the information on Dr. Stone's prosthetics. Knowing you, you want to make more of weapons for any future war, right?"

"Well, I, uh…" Mark began as Amanda gave a glare at this, her gaze icy and threatening, making Mark gulp nervously.

"Do not think of trying ot make excuses with me, Desmond. I want you out of my science devision. Silas, do you mind taking over his position?" Amanda asked, looking at Silas, as both looked equally shocked.

"What?!" Both men asked in surprise; Silas out of genuine surprise, Desmond out of pure rage.

"You can't do this to me, Waller!" Mark said, grabbing her at this as Amanda swatted his arms off.

"I just did. Get out of my sight. Or else my friend here will make you." Amanda said, snapping her fingers as a two agents with chesspiece monikers walked up, glaring at desmond as they dragged him out. Amanda sighed as she looked at silas. "Sorry you had to see that, Dr. Stone."

"Uh…it's…no problem." Silas said sheepishly as he thinks, 'No wonder people fear this woman…she is frightening when angry…' Suddenly they heard a scream.

"Wha-WHAT HAPPENED TO ME!?" victor screamed as Silas and Amanda both ran inside.

"He-he just woke up!" A doctor said to Silas as Victor was up, looking at a mirror that he had just smashed.

"Victor, calm down son." Silas said as Victor turned, a glare on his face as he was now outfitted with a lot of mechanical parts.

"Calm down!? How the hell can I calm down!? I just got blown up and I wake up looking like…THIS!" Victor said, pointing to himself. "I'm a freak!" Silas and Amanda shared looks, unsure as Victor looked at his broken reflection. "I'm…not even human anymore…just…a cyborg…" He looked down, a tear escaping his good eye.

(Present day.)

(Washington DC. Hall of Justice. March 25th, 9:31)

"Vic…Victor…wake up…" a distorted voice said in Victor's ear, as he was shaken.

"Wake up, Victor." A female voice said as Victor's human eye cracked open, his other activating slowly as he looks between the two, groaning. Over him was Christian and Amanda, looking down at him.

Victor groaned as he got up and saw various CADMUS agents looking over the scene as some repair robots were putting in repairs for the infrastructure. "What happened? We got footage of you, Wildcat, Katana and Aqualad being defeated by some robotic invaders." Amanda said as she looked at Cyborg with some concern.

"Ugh…big guy called himself Atlas, that's what I remember. I'll remember more once my program kicks back up." Cyborg said, getting up.

"This is an outrage!" Aquaman said as he arrived with Geo-Force, very livid. "Those mechanized monsters have a lot of gall to rampage our headquarters and take away our teammates." Aquaman said, his hook hand at the ready. "if I get my hands on them, I will personally dismantle them myself if I must."

"Easy there, Arthur." Christian said, putting a hand up at this. "Look, I want to teach the Tinman and his goon squad a lesson as well, but we need to find out where they are."

"I know where." Cyborg said, looking up at this, getting their attention. "Atlas wanted to fight me, one on one. Later today. He didn't say where, but I think we can figure it out if we track down his signal."

"Then we must go there at once." Aquaman said with a scowl as Christian nods, agreeing.

"If you go, you'll be heading right into their hands." Amanda warned as Cyborg shook his head.

"No…no, they didn't want me. At least, not like with the others." Cyborg said, looking up at this. "Atlas thinks of me as some warrior or something, but I don't know why. Look, we need to get Bruce, Billy, Dinah and everyone back."

"And they only want you…ode to joy." Geo-Force groaned. "Why not I just level them in a mountain of earth? Or just send them into the higher atmosphere?"

"Then you'd just be wasting your time. Yes, you can do all that, but to what end? Robots can be rebuilt. And even then, they took on blows from Black Canary's canary cry and took out Captain Marvel, who's equal to superman in strength. THAT is saying a lot." Christian pointed out, crossing his arms.

"Oracle, are you there?" Cyborg asked, getting an image of Barbara on his arm.

"Oracle here, what's up, Vic?" asked Barbara as Cyborg's eye glowed a bit.

"I'm giving you guys some info about what I got from my scans on Atlas, maybe you can use that to look for them. I'm…heading out." Cyborg sighed as he headed out, Aquaman grabbing his shoulder.

"Where are you going?" Aquaman asked, some concern in his tone for the younger hero.

"I royally messed up, Arthur…and I know I can't beat Atlas, but I can at least help you guys out. I'll be heading to where he wants to meet me. Maybe that way I can find a way to lead you all to the others. I just need to get some repairs done, maybe add in that self-repairing program you have for your armor, Chris. See you guys there." Cyborg said, as the others nod as walked off.

"Oracle, we need to see those schematics. Now." Alchimia said as the group went to think of a plan as Cyborg sighed. A beep is heard as Oracle's face came out with a nod.

"I was able to find a trace signal…they're base is in Jump City." Said Maya.

(Atlas's HQ. Jump City, New York. March 25th, 10:12)

"Let us out!" A voice cried out in a large stadium-based HQ, as Captain Marvel began to punch at his barrier, grunting at the energy forming around his head as he kept at it. The captive Leaguers were on giant trophies as some of the younger members kept trying to get out.

Katana grunts as she sent a kick at the barrier as she says, "Ugh, if I had Soultaker I can get out. But they took it and Batman's belt…" Katana said, looking at a table where the weapons were.

"Look, kids, calm down." Wildcat said, a scowl on his face as Canary nods, rubbing her neck as there was an odd device there, keeping her from using her powers at the moment.

"Heh, good luck with that." Said a voice as a shorter man came in, wiping his hands with a rag. "Those things are based on that tech that Rocket girl from Dakota uses. It absorbs kinetic energy; no way even you guys can get out." The person in question was the Mechanic. "The name's spike, by the way."

Hal looked at him and says, "So you're the brains behind this operation, huh?"

"Nah, that was all Koios. He's the brain behind all of this, I just do the fixing." Said Spike, as Batman looked up at this.

"Then wouldn't that make you the most important?" Batman asked calmly, making Spike raise an eyebrow. "These machines hold their lives in your hand, and yet they treat you as trash."

"Yeah, talk about inconsiderate." Flash said, as Spike gave a glare at this.

"Hey, watch it. They kicked your sorry butts no problem." Spike said, as Flash rolled his eyes.

"Yeah? And the only thing keeping Green Lantern there from kicking their backsides is the color of this orb. And even then, I'm pretty sure Batman has thought of 10 different escape routes." Flash said, as Spike rolled his eyes.

"Yeah right. Lets face it: Machines are stronger…especially now. Have you SEEN that one guy you have? Cyborg or whatever? He's super strong AND he's mostly machine. That just proves it." Spike said, as batman frowns.

"Those mechanical parts aren't what gives him his strength." Batman said, as the sound of clanking is heard.

"I have many doubts." A voice said as they looked up to see Atlas, who had a mobile bed with him and revealed he had Tornado champion hitched to it, the mechanical being groaning a bit.

"Hey, let him go!" Marvel said, giving the tall robot a glare as Atlas chuckled.

"Do you think I'm scared of you, Captain? You are but a man…a powerful man, but a man none the less." Atlas said, a smirk on his face as Marvel gave a deep glare at that.

"You better watch it, Tin-Man. Because when we get out, you're heading RIGHT ofr the scrap heap." Hal warned, giving him a frown as Atlas chuckled.

"You have strong will, Lantern. I will give you that." Atlas said as he looks at his wrist and nods. "Hmm…he has arrived."

"Who has?" Batman asked as the rest of the robots arrived, the ones with mouths smirking.

"Your friend." Koios said, showing an image of Cyborg arriving at the front gate, walking towards the main stadium as Atlas walked off.

"Enjoy the show…while you can." Atlas said calmly as he went off, as Tornado Champion looked at the other robots.

"Why are you doing this? There is no reason for this." Tornado said as Impetus laughed a bit.

"Heh…then you must be new at this, old timer. Stick with us, we can teach you a LOT…once Mechanic here takes out that pesky AI limitation Morrow put on ya." Impetus said, as Canary raised an eyebrow.

"limitation?" asked Canary, now confused as Krios pointed to the back of his head, as if motioning something.

"Some inventors give us automatons AI limitations that you like to call 'ethics'. A weakness that many a mechanical being has that limits their full potential." Krios explained as he says, "Once it's removed, we can do whatever we want."

"Atlas was lucky to not have it installed when he was a working bot…he had us upgraded. I would've just been a bot who stuck giant nails in railroads if it wasn't for him." Impetus explained as Krios rolled his eyes.

"I would've just been a robot telling bratty children on how the universe works. Please…like that would have been a good use of my AI. Koios here would have been just another computer." Krios said with a grunt, as Hyperion just grunts.

"And Oceanus and I would have just been a glorified fire hose and furnace. Kronos, what is the estimated time for this fight?" Hyperion asked as Kronos concentrated, his eyes shining a bit as various numbers flashed as he nods.

"About 45.03 minutes…less if Atlas can get him to reach his limitations. " Kronus said as he suddenly got a blade out of his wrist and pointed it at the Mechanic, glaring. "You get to work, meat bag." Spike nods, gulping a bit as Batman scowled at this sight before looking at the cameras to see what was going up top.

(In the Stadium. March 25th, 11:50)

Cyborg walked into the stadium, as he says, "Alright Atlas, I'm here! Come on out! I am here for my friends."

"So, you have come half-bot?" Atlas asked, as Oracle watched this from the security cameras, concerned as an faint green image appeared on a near-by screen, Cyborg sending a signal to get her into the system as he looks around.

"Yeah, I'm here." Cyborg said as he looks at the area around him. The stadium was rundown and clearly had seen better days with various broken seats and litter filling the place, as he recognized some battle damage as he says, "I think I recognize this stadium…yeah, the Titans and I fought against Johnny Rancid here awhile back. Good times." Cyborg said.

"Indeed. That battle closed this building down, making it a perfect place for me to start my future. I was originally gonna fix this place but I discovered what I could do…with a little help of course. Now I, Atlas, shall begin our rise to power." Atlas said, as Cyborg frowned as he got into a stance.

"Well, you don't have your goon squad this time, Atlas. Lets see you take me on." Cyborg smirked as Atlas nods as various weapons came out as Spike typed in the bottom, as Atlas was outfitted with his hand to hand combat techniques, glaring ahead.

"Lets do battle, warrior. And since I want a fair fight, I have removed my weapons. Not that I need it…half of nothing is still nothing." Atlas said as he jumped down and ran forward as he punched down, making Cyborg grunt as he got hit before he was smacked, sending him back a bit.

"Victor, focus. Remember, he is just a machine. You can take him" Amanda said in his ear as Victor rolled his eyes

'Thanks for the pep talk, Waller. Glad to know you care." Cyborg muttered as he ran forward, his fist adjusting itself as he punched Atlas, making him grunt as he grabs Cyborg and threw him aside, making him yell out.

In the basement, the robots cheered for their boss as Spike was working on Tornado as Hal watched this, as he says, "Why do you put up with them? I mean, they should be afraid of you."

"What do you mean?" Spike asked, giving the Lantern a confused look as Captain Marvle smirked.

"You don't need the wisdom of Solomon to know why; you know these guys inside and out. You know their weakspots better than anyone on earth. So in other words…you're their biggest threat. That's why they treat you like dirt." Marvel said as Spike frowned, looking at the Robots who were too focused on the fight as Batman watched as well, as if studying it.

Cyborg growled as he got up and charged forward, tackling into Atlas before moving back and sending a kick his way, sending Atlas back a bit. "I learned THAT from Red Arrow. He told me he took out Brick with that kick."

"peh…giving a pitiful human praise…surprised they aren't here…" Atlas said with a chuckle. "Shows how under the radar I truly am."

"Actually knowing them, they're dealing with something else." Cyborg muttered to himself at that as Atlas charged forward as Cyborg dodged to the left and sent a fist his way.

"That's it, boy! Show him the old left hook!" Wildcat said with a smirk as Impetus growled.

"Oh come on, Atlas! That kid's ¾ your height! You can take him blindfolded!" Impetus said, annoyed.

"You know nothing about fighting, boy: it doesn't matter if you're bigger, it's skill." Wildcat smirked as he watched as Cyborg sent a few jabs at Atlas, who grunts.

"Impressive technique…but not enough." Atlas said as he grabs Cyborg by the arm and threw him into a wall, as Flash cringed at that.

"Ouch…" Flash said as the two mechanical fighters continued to trade blows for about an hour, both panting as Cyborg groaned.

"Ah man…" Cyborg groaned as he looks at his arm, seeing his body almost reaching their limit as Atlas chuckled.

"That is your problem, human…machines have no true limitations, but humans? That's all they are." Atlas said as he grabs him by the head and throws him, making Cyborg grunt as he rolled a bit, before glaring.

"Oh yeah? Bring it." Cyborg said as he yelled out as the two grappled with each other, as a few sparks came out of his arms as he groaned a bit, Atlas smirking as he saw this.

"As I said…only limits." Atlas said as he pulled his fist back before sending a powerful punch his way, Cyborg yelling out as he got sent back.

"CYBORG!" The Leaguers in the bottom floor yelled out as Cyborg was sent flying, grunting as his body creaked a bit, groaning a bit.

"Heh…pathetic." Atlas said as he turned around, as Cyborg groaned as his body creaked a bit. "Go and get yourself repaired, human. I would suggest you leave your 'friends' here…they will make prime trophies."

"Wait, what?" Flash asked, glaring at this as Captain Marvel looked at Cyborg with concern as the mechanical hero groaned as he staggered out, pressing some buttons on his wrist to activate some self repairs that he got from Alchimia.

"Where do you think you're going? Cyborg, are you listening to m-?" Before Amanda could finish, Cyborg turned off his communicator, looking down with a sigh of defeat as he walked out of the arena.

(At a near-by warehouse. March 25th, 13:45)

Amanda scowled as she saw that she was cut off, as she looks at Oracle, who was typing away as Snapper stood by, Alchimia, Aquaman, Samurai, Geo-Force and Robin at the ready.

"Did you get in?" Amanda asked, as Barbara nods.

"Yeah, I was able to get in." Barbara as Robin nods, looking at the signal and the camera feed she was able to get.

"Great…but what about Cyborg?" Robin asked, as Samurai sighed at this.

"I believe…Victor-sama may have some problems…we need to get someone to fetch him, quickly." Samurai said as Amanda nods.

"Snapper, find Cyborg. By any means, you understand?" Amanda asked as Snapper nods, understanding as he gave a smirk.

"Yes ma'am. I'll be back in a snap." Snapper said as Amanda looks at the League with a frown.

"We better make a game plan, people, or else your teammates may be in a heap of trouble." Amanda said, her gaze calm as they nod, understanding.
