OK, here's part 3 of this arc. I hope you all enjoy it! As you know, I only own my own OCs, everyone else belongs to their respective owners. So as always enjoy! (Also sorry if it seems it's all over the place. Remember, we are dealing with dreams…so it's kind of a 'meanwhile' thing whenever I switch to the dreams…dreams have no timestamp, after all.)

Sweet Dreams Part 3

(Diner in mid-Pennsylvania. April 4th, 2:12)

The Javelin landed as Alchimia got something from the upper levels and got a helmet on and put it on Perdita's head. "Here. This should keep you safe from his powers."

"Thank you." Perdita said as she looked at them. "Good luck, everyone." They all nod in return as Tim got his birdarang out while Speedy got her bow ready, but the younger heroes were stopped.

"Tim, I need you, Spoiler and Speedy to keep those things away from Perdita." Batman said, seeing creatures heading in as the three nod in response. "The rest of us will go around this compound and sneak up on him."

"Sounds like a plan to me." Green Arrow said as Black Canary pressed on her ear-piece.

"how are the others doing, Amanda?" Canary asked in concern, as Amanda gave a sigh on the other side.

"They are doing better now than they did earlier. But for now stay focused on the mission at hand. Dubbilex, Manhunter and 'Dream' as you like to call him have stabilized the others. They are going towards Jason from what I can tell…" Amanda said as canary nods as Batman gave a nod in return.

"They won't save everyone, you know." A voice said in their heads, making them look around in confusion as they exited the plane.

"…anyone else hear that?" Geo-Force asked in confusion as he floated ahead, as a monster roared and tried to attack him, making him counter with a gravity burst, making it hit the ground with a loud thud.

"I know you all have your doubts…you try so hard to keep them locked away, but I know what you are all worried about…what you fear most…" the voice said as Batman scowled.

"John Dee, I presume? I take it you don't like that I'm here?" asked Batman, as a growl is heard in their minds.

"Indeed…this is all YOUR fault!" The voice said as the man exited the diner, glaring at them as they all recoiled at his appearance.

"OK, that boy needs some protein…" Wildcat cringed at this as John glared ahead.

"that wreched asylum that you decided to lock your enemies away in…that is what created me! I couldn't sleep until I got this medallion, but even then, I can't sleep because of the dreams! So If I cannot have a good sleep…NO ONE SHALL!" John said as the area around him began shift and change. "I AM DR. DESTINY! THE MASTER OF DREAMS! THE MOLDER OF REALITY ITSELF!" The area glowed as his appearance started to look more like his nightmare self. "WELCOME TO MY NIGHTMARE!" He then laughed evilly as they all stared.

"…It's official, he's snapped." Green Arrow said flatly as he mutters, "Hope the others are doing alright…" He said as he looked around, seeing monsters coming out of the wood work as he fired three arrows, which exploded on impact with them while Canary sent out a loud screech towards them.

(Inside of Jason's mind…)

Dubbilex, Dream, Manhunter and the retrieved Leaguers arrived in a large meadow where the remains of a castle stood, as they saw Jason in a stockade, wearing battered and worn out knight armor. "Jason!" Kara said as she was about to fly forward, but Clark stopped her.

"Wait, what is that noise?" Superman asked as the others turned to hear a loud fight occurring as they saw Etrigan appear, throwing Dr. Destiny, clad in more regal kingly attire than before, aside as he roared out.

"You were unwise to come into this mind, you mortal fool!" Etrigan roared in anger. "Blood's mind may have been vulnerable, but I, Etrigan, am not so easily tricked by your musing."

"Ugh…" Dr. Destiny groaned as he saw them come in, as Captain Marvel and Superman flew forward and slammed their fists into his face, as Dream noticed the area looked unstable.

"…Destiny must be losing control of the power. We must end this quickly." Dream said as Manhunter nods, flying to Etrigan.

"Etrigan, free Jason. We are gonna need you both." Manhunter said as Etrigan nods, going over as Superman and Marvel were sent back, both growling in anger as Kara flew forward quickly, sending a barrage of punches at him.

Etrigan ripped the stockade off as he growled at Jason. "Blood, we must help our comrades out."

"How…we have failed Camelot, we will fail this battle…" Jason said as Etrigan grabbed him by the shoulders and glared into his eyes with his own dark red ones.

"That is not the tone of a knight! A true knight never gives into the enemy!" Etrigan roared in annoyance. "This is a dream! An illusion created by that robed menance! We must join now, Jason! Before he warps your mind!"

Jason looked unsure but then saw Kara get thrown aside, making his eyes narrow. "Gone, gone the form of man…rise the demon…" Both their eyes glowed as they fused together into a fiery tornado.

"ETRIGAN!" Etrigan roared as his armor returned, turning him back to his true form. He then charged forward, sending a punch at Destiny the same as the others did as Destiny roared out as he vanished into smoke.

"We must split up from here…I shall go into Wonder Woman's mind with Etrigan and Captain Marvel." Dream said as Manhunter nods.

"I will go to Hal's dream with Kara and Clark." Manhunter said as Dubbilex' eyes glowed.

"I can sense Arthur is attempting to free himself with his own telepathy…so I shall go to Mr. Allen alone." Dubbelix said calmly as Dream sprinkled sand on the terrain, making everything go back to normal.

"Here. You two each take some sand with you." Dream said as two small bags were given to Manhunter and Dubbilex, who both nod as they went off with their partners. "Shall we?" He asked Etrigan and Marvel, who nod back as they flew off with him.

(Inside of Arthur's mind…)

Aquaman looked at the ruins of his kingdom, his head throbbing slightly as he says, "So…this is the work of a telepath, yes?" He asked calmly as Dr. Destiny arrived in the form of a demonic shark.

"That would be me." Dr. Destiny began as Arthur's eyes shined faintly in the shadows of he sea, making him yell out as the water suddenly fade as he was now in the Dreaming terrain.

"So, you are the invader of the 'Dreaming', yes? I have read about this realm in the Atlantis archives when I was younger. It is the home of Morpheus, the god of sleep and dreams." Arthur said, as Dr. Destiny looked at him with shock. "What? Are you surprised? I have dealt with personal demons before…" He stomped forward at this, hook at the ready.

"Ugh…" Destiny growled in anger, his eyes shining red as he roared as his body turned bigger while he sent a fist down, which Arthur dodged, making him pant.

"You didn't think this idea through, did you? Trying to go into a mind of a telepath." Arthur said, glaring ahead as he jumped forward, punching at Destiny's shin. "And I can sense Manhunter in this realm, so he must be freeing the others."

(Inside of Diana's mind…)

Dream arrived in the remains of a large island nation with Greek architecture as Marvel looked around in shock. "This is Themyscira…Diana's home."

"it is in ruin…there is a theme I am noticing…" Etrigan growled as he saw something; Diana, now a statue. "What did he do to her!?"

"I returned her to how she was born…she is now clay once more." Dr. Destiny said, appearing in the form of a nightmarish Spartan with a smirk.

"Not for long…" Dream said as he walked forward, glaring at Destiny. "You have no place here, Dee…end this madness now while you can." Dream said as Destiny was about ot move, but a lightning bolt hit him, making him yell out as Marvel's hands sparked.

"FREEZE!" Etrigan said as he fired a cold blast of air at Destiny, who dodged as he threw the spear, which Dream touched as it suddenly turned into white butterflies when he touched it.

"You cannot take over my domain, human…" Dream said as he pressed his palm against Wonde Woman's head, causing her body to regain color, rubbing her head as she groan aloud.

"Wha…?" Wonder Woman asked as she saw Destiny and growled. "YOU!" She flew forward, but Destiny shattered upon impact with the fist, replacing himself with a statue.

"Come, we are needed." Dream said as he sprinkled some sand on the ground as the four vanished from sight as the proud kingdom of the Amazons started to rebuild itself.

(Back at the diner…3:04)

Wildcat sent a fist through a monster's head as he threw it aside as he saw Katana slash through the monsters but they kept coming at them.

"Where the hell did he get these creatures from!?" Tim asked as he kicked one away, while Spoiler bonked it with her tonfas.

"They're just coming out of the woodwork!" Speedy said while Alchimia slammed his hands but noticed something.

"Wait…my powers aren't even effecting them…they're not made of matter…" said Alchimia as he scowled. "This is an illusion! Solid, but an illusion!"

"An illusion…that's it! He's trying to get into our heads!" Batman said as they backed up the creatures, who growled. "This is just a distraction so we can't get to him."

"And how do we stop it?" Green Arrow asked as Wildcat got an idea.

"Don't do a thing." Wildcat smirked as Canary smirked as Green Arrow gave him an odd look.

"I think he means let our minds go somewhere else." Tim said as everyone closed their eyes to concentrate on something else as the illusions began to falter but growl.

Destiny growled as he was reaching behind him to start getting something together.

(Inside of Hal's head…)

Manhunter arrived with Clark and Kara as they saw the outskirts of Ferris Aircrafts as a scream is heard, making them look up to see an out of control plane. Superman listened to it, glaring at it.

"HELP! I CAN'T EJECT!" Hal said inside as the group went wide-eyed and flew forward and went to the ship and all three gripped at it, but it wouldn't slow.

"I REALLY HATE DREAM LOGIC!" Kara said in annoyance as she pushed against the ship with all her might as Superman and Manhunter did the same.

"Hal, you need to use your ring! You have a stronger will than this! You shouldn't let this man tell you what to do!" Manhunter said in annoyance as Dream suddenly appeared on the jet, glaring at them.

"OK, my patience is being thinned out from you lot and your friends fighting me in your world." Destiny said in annoyance as Superman's eyes narrowed as he glared up.

"We make it our business to be an annoyance.." Superman said as he fired a blast of heat at him, making Destiny yell out as he fell off. "…He'll live." Superman reassured Kara, as she nods

"Hal, this is serious! You need to get your ring out and get out!" Manhunter said as Hal looked at him and nods as he concentrates as a dark green aura went over them as the plane shattered, making Hal reform in full Lantern garb as Manhunter dropped the sands below, releasing it through Hal's mind.

"OK…what's the sand for?" Hal asked as Superman pats his shoulder.

"Long story. Come on, we need to help the others." Superman said as he led Hal out of the dream to the Dreaming realm, where they saw Dream aiding the others in fighting the giant Dr. Destiny.

Wonder Woman grunts as she sent a punch at his gut, aking him grunt in pain as Aquaman stabbed his leg with his hook, making him roar out while Etrigan and Marvel firedm agical blasts at him while Dream fired burst of magical energy. "Shall we?" Manhunter asked as the other three nod and flew in, all yelling out as Hal created an energy fist.

"This is for messingw ith our heads!" Hal said as he made an energy fist as all four sent a punch right into his gut, making him go wide eyed in pain.

(Back at the Diner. 2:54)

"GAAAH!" Dr. Destiny said, cluctching his head in pain as Batman saw an afterimage of the giant Dr. Destiny fighting the League.

"Looks like we're gonna win." Batman said as the group walked forward, the illusions turning into dust as the Leaguers advanced, glaring as Dr. Destiny graoned a loud, glaring at this.

"YOU SHALL NOT DEFEAT ME!" Destiny said as the ground shook, making the ground shake.

"…OK, that gem has to be unstable…" Wildcat said with a scowl. "I remember the time I fought against the first Psycho Pirate…his helmet went nutty and it almost caused a city-wide migraine." Wildcat said with a growl.

"We need to stop him before he rips all of reality apart." Batman said as Green arrow looked at the amulet.

"We take that off of him, we can stop this." Green Arrow as the group nod and ran forward, but the shockwave caused the ground to separate all out. "…Great. Come on, lets move!" he said as he fired an arrow with a rope on it as he nods to Geo-Force, who nods back as the segment they were on float up and flew right for Dr. Destiny.

Batman and Arrow fired their weapons at them while Canary gave out a canary cry, Alchimia fired down some stones with his alchemy, which exploded upon impact with the ground.

Dee grunts as he saw the explosions go around him as he went inside as Alchimia scanned the building. "Crap…there's people in there! We can't attack if we don't want to hurt them…"

"Then what is the plan?" Katana asked as Batman looks around and nods.

"We go through the roof and behind him." Batman said as the group went into action, heading to the roof while Alchimia's hands glowed as they made contact with it.

(Inside Barry's mind…)

Dubbelix appeared in what looked like Central City, but made entirely black and white, making him raise an eyebrow. "I see…his nightmare is to be frozen in time…trapped with his speed in an endless cycle."

"FINALLY! Someone that's moving!" Flash said ash e sped over. "…or are you just like everyone else I'm outrunning…?"

"Flash, this is no time for this squabble. You know this is a dream, yes? Then break free. Your mind works at about 50 miles per minute…use that to your advantage and slow your thinking down…it should help you calm down enough to slow down." Dubbilex said as Flash took a breath.

"Right…right…I usually try to think about Iris and the others…that usually helps…" Barry took a breath as he concentrated, as Dr. Destiny appeared with a sneer.

"Do you know how silly you look. Huh?!" Destiny asked, frustrated beyond belief but suddenly grabbed as Dubbelix dropped the sand, as the area began to regain it's color as Flash smirked.

"Sweet! I'm back to normal speed." Flash said as Dubbelix looked at him calmly.

"You go. I'll keep this one distracted. Help your comrades." He said as the portal opened up as Flash speed through it, joining into the battle quickly.

(Back at the Diner)

Dr. Destiny groaned as he gripped hish ead in pain as Batman saw the image of Flash joining the battle in a speed of red light as Aquaman sent a fist into his shins to knock the giant down while Wonder woman wrapped his head up with her lasso.

"Hurry! We don't have much time!" said Batman as Alchimia glared at this.

"Hey, YOU try to melt down a roof to make a hole big enough for all of us!" Said Alchimia as the roof gained a thinner surface as Canary took a breath.

"I got this!" said Canary as she sent a canary cry to shatter the ceiling as the group jumped down and glared as Dee glared at them, his eyes blood red.

"It's over, Dr. Dee. Come quietly or we put you to sleep." Green arrow said with a glare.

Dee just laughed as he says, "Even if you take the amulet away, I've absorbed enough powe to still do this! Even behind bars, you cannot stop me!"

(Inside the Dreaming)

Dubbelix heard the version he was hiding and dragged him out as he says, "Then I shall stop this…"

Superman noticed as he saw Dubbilex grab the fraction of Dee as he glared at the larger one and grabbed him. "Dubbilex? What are you doing?" Superman asked as the others turned to him in shock.

"Simple…I am putting an end to this madness…once and for all." Dubbilex said as his eyes shined brightly as the giant yelled out, as he was absorbed into the smaller one, as the real Dee screamed in the real world.

"Stop this, now!" Said Etrigan in rage as Dubbilex looked up calmly.

"Orders…are orders…" Dubbilex said calmly as he got his arm ready.

"DON'T!" Manhunter yelled, his eyes widening as Dubbilex' arm glowed with energy as he strikes forward.

(At the Diner. 3:06)

Dee screamed in pure agony as the others jumped back in shock, as the people around him groaned as they woke up as Dee suddenly fainted, a trail of drool escaping his lips as Batman checked his neck.

"He's alive…comatose but alive…what the hell happened?" Batman asked in anger as Perdita came into the building and touched his head to get a fix and frowned.

"Mr. Dubbilex…he did something to his mind…I sense his psychic signature in his mind." Perdita said as she concentrates harder. "Ugh…it's like this man's brain got shut down."

Batman scowled, as the others looked shocked at this, looking at the man with a slight frown as Alchimia took the necklace off.

(Washington DC. Hall of Justice main room. April 4th, 10:04)

"Why the hell did you do it, Waller?" Superman asked, when they were all fully awake after the whole thing was done. He, Batman and Wonder Woman were in the main hall of the building, as Amanda and Dubbilex stood calmly at them.

"It's simple: I checked with my associate in Arkham, Penelope Young, to give me an insight of Dr. Dee's condition. He was driven mad when he put that thing on. I felt it best to neutralize him." Amanda said calmly as Batman scowled.

"So you decide to make him into a vegetable?" Wonder Woman asked with a glare as Amanda gave her a scowl.

"Don't act all high and mighty, Princess. Last I checked, you amazons wouldn't have been so kind if it went to Themyscira. They would have thought the gods were sending an attack and we were the instigators. Or even worse, what if the Atlanteans got wind of this insanity? If they found out one of the surface dwellers attacked their kings, we'd have a war on our hands." Amanda said as Dubbilex put a hand up.

"I will like to point out that I didn't kill him nor make him permanently into a vegetable. IT was only until the doctors at Arkham can fully heal him. His mind being a more docile state can find ways to fix him once his mind pieces itself back together." Dubbilex said calmly. "By that time, he should lose the power the Dreamstone has given him."

The three looked at each other at this as Batman says, "We do not condone this, Amanda…next time, let us do something before you decide to do this yourself."

"No offense Wayne, but I am with the government. If you gotta problem with some of my methods, take it up with them." Amanda said calmly as she walked off with Dubbilex, making Batman scowl as Cyborg walked past them, looking at them with a faint caution as he came over.

"Hey guys. Despite…THAT bit of nightmare fuel, this made me realize something." Cyborg said as Batman raised an eyebrow.

"What's that?" asked Batman as Cyborg gave a sigh.

"The Hall is a great base and all, but we could be vulnerable here for mental attacks even with Manhunter. So I've been thinking…maybe we can have a secondary base? Out in orbit? No way any telepath can get past there. It'd be too far away. Plus we can have access to the Hall from it, so two-for-one deal."

"So, what do you recommend?" Superman asked as Cyborg pressed a few buttons and revealed something; a satellite-like spacecraft that was silver in color as he gave a smirk.

"Had a few design specs from CADMUS. I think we can talk my dad to letting us have our own base that only specific personal can come in." Cyborg said with a smirk as Batman nods.

"This looks like an interesting idea, Victor. But how are we gonna fund it?" Wonder Woman, as Cyborg gave her a flat look.

"You say that when we got Bruce Wayne, Christian Natura, Oliver Queen, Takeru Yamato, the king of Atlantis AND the Prince of Markovia on our team? I think we got more than enough cash to last us awhile, Princess." Cyborg said with a smirk. "AND with a few…half-truths, we can build this bad boy independently with the help of my dad."

"Hmm…this sounds like a marvelous idea, Cyborg. We'll have everyone talk about it later, OK?" Superman said as Cyborg nods, smirking at this, unaware of a camera focusing on them.

In another room, Lane frowned as he turns to Michael Holt and Vera Black. "Looks like we're losing their trust. It's bet we cut our losses and just cut them out from us for good."

"Why would that make it any better?" asked Michael, crossing his arms at this as Vera frowned as well.

"Think about it; we can help prep up a new team. One loyal to the Government." Lane said as Amanda walked in, frowning a bit.

"talking behind my back, General?" Amanda asked with a frown as Lane gave a sneer. "Before we decide to switch out our Super heroes…let us focus on the Squad…Cheshire." She said as she saw Cheshire walk in with a nod.

"Ma'am?" She said as Amanda walked over. "What is it?"

"I want you and Lane to get Task Force X together again. Officially this time, NOT with some agents we rounded up with some of the recruits we put together for the Markovia mission. We are doing this back to the basics. That means…getting criminals who would be interested in a little time off." She said with a smirk, as Cheshire nods.

"Yes Ma'am. I'll have Rick look through the candidates at once." Cheshire said as Amanda nods as she looks at her cohorts as Maxwell and Snapper walked in as well.

"Don't forget, everyone. We are CADMUS, we are one of the Earth's best hope for survival. The super heroes may be able to deal with normal criminals and the costumed freaks…but we deal with the major threats to society, something they cannot comprehend."

"And when any would-be conqueror wants to come knocking on America's or her allies' doorstep…" General Lane began as Michael sighed, walking up with a frown.

"We answer with a firm 'No'." Michael said as Vera walked up next as she gave a smirk, putting on her sunglasses.

"And when they decide to not play nice…" She began as Cheshire put her mask on as she gave a nod.

"Then they made a wrong move. And for us…" Cheshire threw her sai to a wall, imbedding it into it. "It's Checkmate."
