A Shocking Tail of Brothers

It was a normal day for the Pokemon belonging to Ash, Iris and Cilan until horribly, a murderous Raichu appeared and tried to kill Pikachu. It was then revealed that Pikachu and the Raichu are in fact siblings. When it was captured by one of the humans, chaos ensues as they get to know him. Can they turn this killer's attitude around or die trying?

8. Chapter 8

Axew began tugging on Iris' pant leg, trying to get her attention. Iris looked down at her starter pokemon and spoke with a depressed tone.

"Hey Axew. Are you hungry?"

Axew shook his head no and continued to try to get his trainers attention. Finally Iris looked at him, waiting for him to tell her what he wanted;

"It wasn't Raichu's fault! I was there and I saw the whole thing!"

If Iris wasn't paying attention to what Axew was saying before, she was now. She looked at Axew with widened eyes as even all the pokemon gathered around him to see if even they heard right. Iris spoke;

"What do you mean Raichu didn't start it?"

That caught Ash and Cilan's attention, who now paid close attention to what the small dragon was saying;

"Exactly as I said. He didn't start that fight! Dragonite did. Dragonite threatened Raichu, who was extremely annoyed at being threatened like that."

Iris scowled as she spoke;

"So let me guess. Raichu attacked Dragonite because of something Dragonite said?"

Axew growled almost dangerously as he spoke;

"Will you shut up and listen to me already? Jeez no wonder Raichu left! You guys place the blame on him for everything!"

Iris's jaw dropped. Axew had never disrespected anybody before. She immediately began to listen as he continued;

"Dragonite threatened Raichu…and Raichu while he was annoyed about it, Raichu simply walked past him. It was then that Dragonite fired a Dragon Rage at him while his back was turned."

Iris' eyes widened. She immediately turned towards Dragonite with a scowl on her face as she spoke;

"Is this true?"

Dragonite had a scowl of his own on his face but still nodded in agreement. Iris felt a pit in her stomach as a lone thought raced through her mind;

'What have I done?'

Axew spoke with annoyance in his tone;

"That's when the fight broke out. Raichu was attacked first. And yet you all automatically blamed him for it and immediately threw him out! Something that you promised that YOU WOULD NEVER DO!"

Iris winced, Axew was right. But it still stung to hear it none the less. Axew then spoke again;

"That's why we need to find him. Now! We need to have the flying type pokemon search above the woods. That could make this whole thing go by faster."

It was then that Tranquil spoke up her thoughts;

"No! So what if Raichu didn't start it this time? He's still too dangerous to have here. While yes, it sucks that we blamed him for something he didn't do, why should we place the group in danger to find him. Do ANY of you remember what he did to Patrat? He killed another pokemon for simply intruding on a fight! What Iris did, was make it look like her entire friendship with him was a lie. He's gonna be out for blood! I think I speak for everyone when I say that it's better that he's left where he is."

A chorus of agreement rang out amongst the pokemon until Axew spoke;

"I'm disappointed in ALL of you! I expected better than this. And you know what. Raichu has done many terrible things. I won't deny that fact. The worst thing he has ever done was when he killed Pikachu's mate Cassandra. And despite all that, PIKACHU WAS STILL ABLE TO PUT HIS DIFFERENCES WITH RAICHU ASIDE AND GO INTO THE WOODS TO FIND HIM! Do you wanna know why? Because it was the right thing to do! You cowards do whatever you want, but Pikachu and I won't rest until we bring our FRIEND home!"

With that, Axew stormed of enraged towards the woods, leaving everyone with their jaws dropped. Most of them hadn't heard the story of Cassandra, but they were shocked to learn that Pikachu was willing to drop everything to go and search in the woods. That made all of them feel a little guilty.

Ash on the other hand, immediately got up and spoke;

"Tranquil, I want you to fly up and search above the woods for Pikachu. I have a gut feeling that where ever he is, Raichu won't be far away."

Tranquil reluctantly nodded before taking to the skies. Emolga looked at Ash as she spoke;

"Well what about me? I can jump from tree to tree to see if I can spot either Raichu or Pikachu!"

To say everyone was shocked was an understatement. Emolga, the LAZIEST pokemon on the planet, was offering to help search. And not by using attract to send someone to do it for her, but actually do it herself. Of course they knew about her crush on Raichu, but they didn't think that it would be because of that, that she would actually be willing to help. Ash nodded and that was all Emolga needed to scamper towards the trees. Ash then recalled the rest of his pokemon before turning towards Iris and speaking;

"I think we should go and find Axew. He's too small and anything in that forest can potentially harm him."

Iris and Cilan nodded and they immediately sprinted off towards the forest.

Meanwhile

Axew was utterly terrified. He never had been this far in the woods by himself before. So he was a little nervous. But still he trudged on. He continued to cautiously walk when he heard rustling in the bushes ahead. His eyes widened in shock before he let out a scream when he saw a fearsome looking Scolipede. Axew quietly tried to sneak past the pokemon who he normally has a habit of pissing off. Unfortunately, it saw him and charged at him. Axew let out a scream before he rolled out of the way.

Elsewhere

Pikachu was looking around for Raichu when he heard Axew's scream. His eyes widened before he immediately turned and scurried off in that direction with one thought on his mind;

'Raichu will have to wait. Axew need's help now!"

Axew was hit by an attack that sent him rolling across the ground. He shook his head before he weakly looked up at the Scolipede. It growled menacingly at him before it was about to attack again when a volt tackle came out of nowhere and hit it in its side. Axew looked up, expecting to see Pikachu, and was shocked when he saw Raichu had defended him instead. Raichu sent his tail out and wrapped it around Axew's waist before pulling him out of harm's way. Raichu set Axew down safely behind him and spoke with to the Scolipede;

"Look pal, why don't you try picking on somebody your own size?"

The Scolipede growled at Raichu and went to attack the bipedal mouse pokemon, when Pikachu came out of nowhere with an Iron Tail primed and ready. The Iron limb smashed against the wild Pokémon's cranium and made Scolipede stumble as Pikachu stood next to Raichu, standing in between the Scolipede and Axew. Raichu spoke;

"Well look who decided to show his yellow little face? Decided to show up before all the fun was gone?"

Pikachu grinned as he spoke in response;

"Well as you know, the bigger they are, the more fun it is to knock them on their ass. A fun little game I learned from you. So, you up to take him down?"

Raichu smirked before speaking;

"A tag team up? Heh, this is gonna be fun."

Both brothers got into battle ready stances as their cheeks sparked with electricity. The Scolipede charged and was immediately met by 2 powerful thunder shocks. While the creature was stunned, Raichu lunged and shot his tail directly into the Bug type's side. The Scolipede roared in pain before it used it's antenna to knock Raichu away.

Meanwhile,

The humans were searching the woods when they saw the thunder shocks in the distance. Their eyes widened before they immediately sprinted off in that direction;

Back to the fight, Pikachu used Volt Tackle to knock the Scolipede over, while Raichu again got up close to slash it with his tail. Raichu jumped high into the air and with an awesome battle cry, he grabbed his tail and slammed the spear like tip into the Scolipede's skull. The Bug Pokemon was dead in moments. Raichu pulled his tail out of the Scolipede before he spoke;

"Well, after the day I had today. I needed to kill something!"

Pikachu smiled sadly and was about to speak when Iris, Cilan and Ash finally caught up to them and Iris spoke once she saw the area;

"What the heck happened here?"

Upon seeing Iris, Raichu's good mood immediately went down the crapper as he scowled and spoke;

"Oh nothing too serious, just me being a soulless monster and killing another pokemon. Ya know the usual!"

And with that, Raichu turned around and immediately began to walk away. Axew immediately blocked his path. Raichu growled dangerously before he spoke with venom in his tone;

"Out of my way runt. Before I flatten you like a pancake."

Iris saw than within the hour of Raichu being on his own, all the work she had done on him within the week had become undone. Axew scowled at him before he spoke;

"Don't be like that! You're not a soulless monster, and what you did here proves it. You came to my rescue, despite hating us. You saved me, because somewhere inside, you knew it was the right thing to do."

It was then Raichu growled as he spoke;

"I didn't do it to save you. I needed something to kill and that Scolipede was the perfect target. That's it."

Pikachu then spoke;

"It's actually thanks to Axew that we even know what truly happened. He saw the entire fight and told us exactly what happened!"

Raichu turned towards Axew and spoke in annoyance;

"And expect me to be grateful? You said it yourself Iris. You said that I'm incapable of having any remorse or compassion! Sound familiar?"

Iris winced at the hate filled tone in his voice, Raichu growled as he continued to speak;

"I'm just doing what I always do. If you think that despite what just happened, we can go back to being buddy-buddy with each other, then you're damn fools."

And yet again Raichu immediately turned around and began to storm off, but this time, Ash spoke up;

"That's not true Raichu. You are our friend. You always were our friend. We just weren't being good friends to you. But give us the chance to make it up to you."

Raichu stopped moving. He turned around and looked at Iris as he spoke with even more hostility in his tone;

"The thing Iris, is you LIED to me!"

He then pointed at Pikachu as he continued speaking;

"And I know that it's my fault. I knew that this would happen eventually. That sooner or later, you would betray me like this. I knew this and despite my better judgment, I allowed myself to trust you. And do you wanna know why? Because you said to me, that in your eyes, All pokemon are equal to humans and that you would never get rid of me and all that shit! I thought I could trust you because of those words, but those words should have made me more cautious. It's my fault for even thinking FOR THE SLIGHTEST MOMENT, that there was even a possibility I could trust you."

Iris' eyes widened before she lowered her head. She deserved this. He was hurt and angry and she honestly deserved his wrath. She didn't trust him enough to believe him when he was telling the truth. She hurt him, and basically proved him right when he said that she would abandon him at some point. And she has never felt so bad her entire life. She was about to speak when suddenly, Dragonite landed in front of her. At the sight of the pokemon who started all of this, Raichu's eyes narrowed into slits and his lips pulled into a snarl. He was moments away from attacking when Dragonite raised a hand and spoke;

"I said earlier how you couldn't be trusted. And I was wrong. I saw how you had defended Axew, even when you still believed that he hated you. You still defended him despite you anger and hatred and I now see that I was wrong. If you want to hate anybody, then hate me. It's my fault everything happened to you. But Iris was honestly doing what she thought was right at the time. Don't throw away something that you could possibly have just because of anger. Like I did."

Raichu's eyes widened before Dragonite continued;

"I was angry about you getting so accepted by everybody despite what you could possibly do. I was angry and because of this, I threw away any potential friendship I could ever have with you."

Raichu closed his eyes before he opened them quickly and reared his fist back before mashing it against Dragonite's face.

The dragon pokemon flew backwards a few feet as Raichu spoke out;

"That…was for the Dragon Rage."

He looked at Iris and spoke;

"I honestly don't care if that bothered you. That needed to happen."

Iris rolled her eyes but nodded non the less before she spoke;

"So…we good?"

Raichu crossed his arms and spoke;

"Why should I trust you again? Give me one DECENT reason and I'll forget this entire thing ever happened."

Iris sighed before she spoke;

"Because you're my friend! You may not believe it, but I did value the time we spent together. The choice is yours. But I guarantee you this, if you do decide to leave. You will be missed."

Raichu groaned out in mock annoyance;

"Alright I forgive you already! So can we stop talking about it? All this mushy shit is making me wanna puke!"

Iris grinned as she nodded. Raichu smiled and was about to head back to camp when Iris spoke;

"Oh No you don't! There is still one more apology that needs to be made."

Raichu blinked before he looked around, clearly puzzled. Iris groaned before she pointed at Pikachu and spoke;

"You can try to deny it all you want, but you're both brothers. And that fact will never change. So what will it take to put this entire Cassandra incident behind both of you?"

Pikachu as well as Raichu immediately shook their heads as Pikachu spoke;

"There is nothing that Mother Fucker can possibly do to get me to let that go! He killed my mate, AND DESTROYED THE EGG! Sooner or later I will fucking end him!"

All the Pokémon's eyes widen in shock! They didn't know that there was an egg that was destroyed as well. (Minus Axew and Oshawott as they already knew).

Raichu rolled his eyes before he spoke;

"Aww let it go already ya fucking cry baby! Ya buried them, ya mourned them; now it's time to grow a pair and move on!"

At that comment, Pikachu snarled dangerously as Raichu smirked and spoke;

"You want a fight shorty, just say so!"

Iris growled as she spoke out over the brothers;

"Enough, both of you! Raichu, when you first told me about this story, I knew that there was a part you left out, something that Pikachu probably doesn't know! What is it?"

At this, Pikachu turned to Raichu and spoke;

"Wait, what does she mean a part I don't know?"

Raichu shrugged before he spoke;

"Like I know what she means. And like I said after you asked me why Iris, Remember my answer? I stated that I saw something that made Pikachu happy and I decided to take it away from him."

Iris glared at him as she then responded to that;

"And my answer was on how that was complete Bullshit!"

An argument like this went back and forth between Iris and Raichu until finally, Raichu snapped;

"FINE! THE FUCKING EGG WASN'T HIS! ARE YOU HAPPY NOW!"

The whole forest was silent for about a minute until Pikachu spoke enraged;

"What the fuck are you talking about? Of course it was mine!"

Raichu growled before he spoke;

"And this is what I'm talking about! You're such a fucking idiot that you didn't even know the most common trait about the Eevee species! They are known as the MOST UNFAITHFUL POKEMON IN THE ENTIRE WORLD! If you had even the smallest, teeny tiniest bit of an IQ, you would have known this!"

Pikachu's eyes widened before he took a deep breath and tried to speak calmly despite trying to hold back tears.

"Just…because of that trait, doesn't mean that she….she wouldn't!"

Raichu sighed as he spoke aloud;

"Can all of you leave please? This is a conversation I need to have alone with him. It's not for any of your ears."

Every one nodded and headed back to camp before Raichu sat down on a nearby log and patted the space next to him. Pikachu sat down, waiting for an explanation as Raichu spoke in a softer and calmer tone;

"You said how you believed she wouldn't do that. And that's just it right there; you look for the good in everybody. You are always willing to give anybody the benefit of the doubt! And yes, while that's a good trait; you still need to be cautious."

Pikachu sighed as Raichu continued;

"On that day, many years ago. I was willing to give her the benefit of the doubt as well. But just to make sure, I sniffed the scent on the egg. It wasn't yours. I knew that finding this out would completely destroy you at the time, so I killed her and smashed the egg. The way I saw it, for the time, it would be better for you to hate me and think that Cassandra died a martyr, protecting the child; than the truth that she didn't love you and it wasn't yours to begin with."

Pikachu sighed as a few tears leaked out of his eyes as he spoke;

"Why? Why didn't I bother to check? I mean around the time the egg was laid, she was distant and I didn't know why. I just wish I had…"

Raichu sighed as he replied;

"You loved her. You were soo in love with her that you automatically assumed that those feelings were returned. But the thing about Eevee's, is that it's nearly impossible to find one that will always stick to one mate. When I confronted her about it, she nearly bragged to me that you wouldn't believe me over her. She didn't feel bad at all. It's just their nature."

Pikachu nodded as he wiped his eyes. Raichu asked another question;

"What I wanna know is, why didn't you move on yet? There have been many girls that I'm pretty sure would have made nice mates and they were guaranteed to stick by you forever. Why didn't you choose someone else?"

Pikachu looked at Raichu like he had a second head as he spoke;

"You know the answer to that. It's because the Pikachu species mate for life. They always stick to one mate."

Raichu blinked before he tried to fight laughter. Pikachu saw this and scowled as he spoke;

"Grow up will ya! And what's soo funny about that?"

Raichu grinned as he spoke;

"Let me guess, you heard that from Mom and Dad?"

Pikachu nodded as Raichu began to snicker;

"Oh god, I thought you would have figured it out by now. That's bullshit dude. Mom and Dad lied to you."

Pikachu's jaw hit the ground as he spoke;

"Wait, what?"

Raichu grinned as he spoke;

"Yeah, no! They didn't want you to hop from mate to mate like I did when I was around your age. Well mom didn't anyway. Dad simply hated you!"

Pikachu's eye began to twitch as he spoke;

"Are you telling me that this whole time I could have moved on and I didn't because of Mom and Dad?"

Raichu spoke as he began to laugh;

"Hahahahahahaha, yup! Dude I thought you would have known by now!"

Pikachu crossed his arms with a scowl as he spoke;

"Stupid Asshole. I'm glad he's dead."

Raichu grinned as he spoke;

"So….are we cool?"

Pikachu sighed for a few moments before he spoke with a smile on his face;

"Yeah, we're cool."

Raichu grinned before he spoke;

"Dude I swear to God, if you hug me, I'll slap you!"

Pikachu started to laugh as both brothers got up and began to walk back to camp.

When they arrived; Iris, Ash and Cilan immediately stood up as Iris spoke;

"So, are you guys friends?"

Raichu spoke as Pikachu shook his head in the same fashion;

"No!"

Iris frowned and was about to speak when Pikachu beat her to it;

"We're Brothers. And neither of us would have it any other way!"

Iris smiled at them as Ash spoke the question that has been on his mind for a while;

"Hey guys, what region are you both truly from?"
