I've grown accustomed to living inside my mind. It's the only way that I can occupy myself while I travel around the world. Plus, nothing around me seems interesting. So, why bother to actually look at it? Thoughts and ideas flow through my mind as I walk along my path. Some of them are mundane, but some are very perplexing. Why do I exist is a common theme I bring myself. The world around moves forward infinitely. Never does anything affect this change. Even the greater beings have little effect on the outcome of life itself. So, why do I exist? There is no true reason. Since I was young, I've been guided by Bishop. Why did I follow him? What left me in his hands? Who was this Drew? Why was he the supposed savior of the world? Since when was our world going to be destroyed? And how could it be destroyed? These thoughts ran circles around my mind as I walked on.

Eventually, what appeared to be a small encampment with two Pokémon lying around it came into sight. Was this the place? I checked my surroundings; it seemed so. Well, where was the human? Actually, now that I think about it, what does a human look like? However, there were steps leading from the campsite into the grey woods. The tracks slowly faded and I had become lost. Which way did I come from? It became even harder to detect where I came from. Walking and watching became my only choice. And so I walked.

About an hour passed, and I had no idea where I was. The trees all looked the same. I debated for a while whether I should climb to look around. Eventually, I tried and failed. A large crashing sound filled the silent wood. It echoed violently through the leaves of the trees.

"Damn it Ismene, what did you get yourself into?" The loud crash came again, this time it was closer, "Hey! Who's out there?"

Then, a painful thud and darkness.

"Ah, Drew. What'd you get yourself into? Blair and Astra are probably freaking the hell out right now." I looked around, and the forest seemed eternal. The silence was only interrupted by the occasional gust of wind, which knocked down a leaf that landed peacefully on the grass like a drop of water into a lake. However, this silence was interrupted by a thundering boom that resonated through the woods.

Under my breath, I said, "Perhaps it's time for me to leave." But, as I turned away from the sound, I felt as though I should investigate. So, I treaded towards the origin of the din. What led I was not sure. It may be a strong sense of courage, an idiotic curiosity, or a mix of both.

The site that I saw was breath-taking. This giant stone creature, which I assumed to be an Onix, was plowing down trees in what seemed to be a fit of rage. Cautiously, I circled it by using the trees as cover. It didn't seem as though it was going to hurt any Pokémon, so I may as well leave it alone. Just as I said that, I saw what seemed to be a girl. Was she human? I couldn't tell. It looked as though she might be. My vision of her was disrupted by a swing of the Onix's tail, knocking her right to the ground. What the hell!? Why did it do that! Anger surged through my body. What do I do? What can I do? That Pokémon is about five times my size! I looked at her limp body on the ground. Well, I need to at least try.

Running past the gargantuan Pokémon, I noticed that it was raising its tail high up. It appeared that it was going to crush her. My legs burned as I pushed on. That destructive tower was bound to come crashing down on her any second now. She was just within reach when the fist overshadowed us. In less than a second, she was in my arms and I was dashing away as fast as my legs would allow. The dust had barely settled by the time I was out of its sight. Once I thought it was safe enough, I placed her upright against a tree. I felt her head. She seemed fine, although bruised. After soaking my shirt in the river adjacent to us, I placed it on her forehead. What was she? I looked closer. She looked so much like a person, but, at the same time, different. I guess that didn't matter. I did save her life after all.

EDT: Yeah. This chapter was written and all. Sorry if it's not as good as it normally would be. You see, I had a good friend. He moved into my neighborhood about 4 or 5 years ago. His name was Jonathan and he was a great person. He taught me countless things about computers. He was my mentor, guide, leader, etc. I found out that he died last night. His heart was infected as was his blood. So, he left this world. I'll miss him for as long as I live. Please just keep him in your thoughts. Thank all of you. On a lighter note, special thanks to Dude492. He made me cover art. :D This was a man. (-Compliment! Read some Julius Caesar!)
