I tore the shirt away from my incredibly moist skin and drenched it into the water. The coolness beneath the surface engulfed my hands. After a few moments, I squeezed the shirt dry. This process was repeated multiple times before I placed it over her head to cool her off. Who was she, anyways? I investigated her more closely. She had an effeminate body type, much similar to that of a human. Her skin was porcelain white, almost unnaturally. Her hair was an odd looking green, and it was wrapped into a (small) pony tail behind her head. Despite the way it was styled, I could tell it was naturally jagged. She had a small nose and mouth, and here ears must have been hidden behind her locks. The most unusual thing about her was the red object protruding from her chest. Was it some sort of fashion statement? I'm not sure. In fact, I think she might be a Pokémon. Well, that was beyond the point. I sat down and began to create a small fire. It was already late into the day and I don't think I could lug her all the way back to camp. Hopefully Blair and Astra can see the smoke from there.
"Where could he have gone to?!" yelled Blair out of frustration "I mean, really! Would it be that hard to wake me up everyone once in a while!"
I slyly remarked, "You mean 'us', right?"
"No! Wait. Yes. Damn it!" Blair screamed fire into the cloudy domains that drifted so silently above us. "Well, where do you think he could have gone?"
"I'm not sure. If I had to guess, probably into the forest over there, considering that there Is nothing else around here."
We started walking into the forest. It was obvious that he had gotten lost, or something like that. He had been gone for a good five hours at that point. So, it only made sense to go looking. "Hey, Astra? Do you think that Drew is alright? I mean, maybe he has a legitimate reason for why he couldn't come back?" Blair inquired of me.
"Like what? I mean, he's a smart guy. I doubt he'd do anything that stupid."
She laughed subtly, "Yeah, he's strong too. There's no way he'd even be hurt by anything that he does do!"
We trotted along laughing silently. Of course, the thought of him being injured still crept in the back of our minds. If he was injured, it'd be serious. We'd need to find him some serious help. We don't know the area at all, either; so, we'd have trouble even getting him to help. At that moment, we began to walk a little bit faster.
"Stupid fish!" I kept yelling quietly to myself as I tried fishing with my bare hands. These fish were small, but fast. I just wanted to catch one to cook. They actually looked like normal fish, too. Not Pokémon fish, so that was a plus. I was beginning to worry about a lack of protein in my diet. Soon enough, one did manage to make its way into my hands. And with that, I began cooking. Now, I don't mean to brag or anything, but I make one great chef! Of course, it'd help if I had some sort of seasoning to go with this fish, but it doesn't matter. This is going to be delicious. Just as it was about done cooking, I heard a rustling from behind me. Upon turning my head, our eyes made contact. Her red eyes filled mine with incredible interest. She looked away after one second as I sat there dazed by the experience. Soon enough, I felt normal again. "Do you want to try some of this?" I asked her politely. She shook her head yes and came over to the fire. She opened up to me very shortly after. Her name was Ismene. She was apparently an Avid traveler. Her voice was energetic, but very subtly.
"This was delicious! Thanks for cooking for me." Ismene thanked me.
"Oh, no problem at all! I actually enjoy cooking, and this is the first time that I had done so in a long while, too."
"Mind me asking, but what happened? Like, what happened to me before you helped me out?"
I started, "Well, you were knocked out by some large creature. I think it was an Onix, if I'm not mistaken."
"You saved me from an Onix! How!? You're only a—" She cut herself short.
"Wait, what were you going to call me just now?"
She looked around cautiously, and then knocked me into the water playfully.
"Hey! I just dried off, you know! Alright then, time for you to get wet as well!"
She looked startled, "Wait, no!"
I pulled her into the water, drenching her completely. She jumped out of the water on top of me. I threw her off and splashed here with water. And, we began to just hang out as though we had known each other for a very long time. Some time passed and we were both fast asleep. I wonder where Blair and Astra were. They are probably worried sick. (At this time, Blair and Astra were also lost in the forest. They were still searching for Drew, but they were bound to stop and rest soon enough.)
EDT: It's been a while, hasn't it? Sorry about that, once again. School has become hectic as I get older, it's actually quite ridiculous. Leave reviews and all that jazz. (Not smooth jazz, god no)
