Lucy POV~
i smelt the sharp sting of the dienfectant. soon i was slowly being able to feel yet however much i tried to move, i couldnt. i then could suddenly hear, the humm of life and living below me. people. i layed until i was able to crack my eyes open, i was blinded by light and groaned painfully but i am a stubborn person so i opened them again, and kept them open. i swept the room with my foggy,groggy eyes and instantly recognised the tall stone walls and floor, the white beds and the dark red plush armchairs that dotted around the room. the big wooden door was pushed and the iron hinges protested a little before letting the door open freely. a figure swept into the room and my eyes were slowly focussing.
"sweet lucy you are awake!" the figure smiled and i then tried to move, my fingers twitching.
"i shall return, remember that"
for the whole time they were gone i had set myself a mission to be moving. Once He came back i instantly recognised the figure "ru-Fus" i croaked. i had hauled myself upright and i was leaning heavily on my arms. gods i mustve looked absolutely awful. the Medical wizard who he had brought was faffing around and propping me on pillows after pillows.
once the wizard was gone Rufus perched in a deep red armchair next to me and we were choked in silence.
"its been a week Lucy" he finally said. i snapped my eyes from the blank stone wall to look at Rufus "We're back at sabertooth" he continued. "your victory gave us another year as the strongest, thank you" i managed a slight smile and a nod before the memories came flooding back.
"S-s- ig" i could hardly form Sting's name and it sounded more like a hiss. "ro-o"
"hush" Rufus smiled as he petted my hand "its okay"
Another week and a half came and went, however i only saw Rufs, Ogra, Minerva and a glimpse of Frosch at the doorway. i was finally able to walk around and i was finally leaving the infirmary. i looked at myself in the mirror, i was sporting a new scar accross my cheekbone to my nose which the medic said would only last a few months, possibly a year. i couldnt help but remember Natsu's bloodied and torn face as i traced the scar with my fingertips. i left my blonde hair loose, the navy part was burnt off in the fight. it was back to how it was when i left fairy tail. i pulled on a pink striped top and small denim shorts (((2014 lucy)) i glanced at the bandage on my lower arm. it was the only bandage left.
Rufus appered and opened the door "c'mon Lucy" he smiled softly. i nodded and strode out of the room, my hair dancing as i finally saw the guild again. i looked around and i was soon in the center of the guild, nothing had changed except the new sabertooth banners and more requests. there was a huge gust of wind as the guild doors flew open and my back froze and hair swept in front of my face. as if sheilding me from seeing something i shouldnt. i turned slowly, tucking my hair behind my ear and stopped halfway when my big brown orbs met Crimson.
"Lucy?" he breathed
Rouge POV~
she was stood there in the middle of the guild, one bandage left and walking. i met her eyes, her deep brown eyes and my insides began to melt though i didnt show it. she was alive. i tried to step forward but my body was still. i felt Sting's hand on my shoulder and he practically dragged me to the other side of the guild, away from the innocent angel- innocent? was she innocent? damn. i loved her, no, i love her. we thudded onto the benches on the far wall and i began to fix the bandage accross my head, my last few missions opened up the wound on my head again. i absentmindedly thought of the infirmary where she was playing with my hair in a sweet silence and then when she blew me a kiss goodbye, and then the battle where she did it for the world to see... but then... what happened? what was said? the image of Natsu and Lucy kissing was stuck in my mind and i felt my eyes glisten. i sighed brokenly and put my head into my hand, covering my eyes and letting my hair flop over lifelessly. i heard the soft growl that rose from sting and then a step on the wood. and another. and another. the steps were slow, and unsure, unsteady. i saw a flash of pink from the corner of my eye. lucy... i stood abruptly and swept away, past lucy, my cape hitting her as i continued. people parted for me in the streets at one look of my face. a small girl tugged on my cape and i turned, the young girl mustve been not even 6 or 7 and she smiled and held out a single daisy, i crouched down and tousled her hair before taking the daisy and sliding it into her long pink locks. i then stood abrubtly and continued my way through the town to the house which Sting and i shared, we hadnt been home yet and the door takes a good shove to open. simple.
sting pov~
Rouge had swept past lucy and her eyes were glued to her oh so interesting toes. i sat stiffly and suddenly stood. dammit. lucy... i used my balled fist to heave myself up from the table. i know she has a thing for Rouge but ...all i can think of... that soft blonde hair... i silenly rememberd of our stay in the hotel where tripped and she tried to cover up her laugh but, i love her laugh.. ...dammit! i'm going crazy! her eyes lifted and found mine. "s...sti-" she began
"what. Lucy" i raised my scarred brow. broken... like us...
"i.. didnt... mean..."
"Didnt mean for what, For us to see that?" i couldnt stop myself from cutting her off angrily
"st-?"
i growled and jerked my hands into my pockets, my elbow hitting lucy as i strode out of the guild, making her stagger backward and into freed who had anticipated my move. bloody memory mage. the exceeds trailed behind me and struggled to keep up on their litle paws.
Lucy POV, Timeskip~
i hadnt seen the boys since then. a month had passed. i was still sporting my black outfit with the armour. i never even thought of putting the navy back into my hair, i had called out cancer to fix up the burnt rag it had become but it had resulted in it being much shorter than i imagined. at first i was surprised and it had reminded me of the singer that sometimes appeers in weekly sorcerer with her brother, Rin Kagamine was it? but mine was shorter. i was sat in the new cafe that had opened in town, the opposite end to sabertooth so it was nice and peaceful but had a nice bubbly feel. it was a cute vintage inspired place and i was sipping my drink and reading the newest issue of the weekly sorcerer. This issue was based on sabertooth and had a shot of lucy on the front, i didnt know the image was being taken at the time and she was sat on a stool next to rufus at sabertooth, mid conversation and smiling. it was from a low angle and i wondered how i had missed the reporter taking it. "at least i dont look bad" i mumbled before finishing the cool drink. suddenly there was a loud crashing and collapsing sound and my eyes flicked above the issue to look around, straight out of the window i was sat by, stood a tall, pale, stupid mage. i tried not to move but i was plain obvious, all in black at the window of the cutest tea room in the town? well done lucy. i sighed and rolled up the weekly sorcerer and slipped dantily off the stool before leaving the cafe. i came up right behind the mage, grabbed his shoulder and spun him around. i looked around and saw that a couple of the old buildings had been destroyed.. what the? the planning said it would start next week? i got a job and everything so i could miss the congestion of people!
"hey! look your in sabertooth!" my focus turned back to the mage and i groaned to myself.
"yes" i replied, glancing at my insignia. is he a total moron?!
"awesome! ya see this girl?!" he shoved my hand off his shoulder too eagerly and fished a picture out of his pocket, grinning the whole time. ugh yeah i forgot what a complete doofus he is.. he shoved a picture into my face, obviously ripped from a newspaper or magazine. he had to flip it around because all i could see was writing. i studied the face of the girl, medium hair, brown eyes, slutty skirt, super big cleave.. ugh who is that desperate? i then stopped and blinked before stepping back so i could look at it better. oh god its me from when i was in fairy tail?! oh gosh i was so desperate! that was only like, 4 or 5 months ago?!
"i see her" i said looking back at the mage with a slight frown.
"well.."the mage trailed off, sticking his hands into his pants. i only then noticed he wasnt wearing a shirt and there wasnt any shoes to be seen, he looked quite feline.
"Seriously?!" a small man climbed out of the redicilous pile of rubble and came towards us "i swear if you get sidetracked again i will seriously..." he let the threat hang in the air but the feline mage looked as derpy as possible. "we just need to get to sabertooth is that so hard Toby?!"
"but Yuka..." toby whined, swinging his arms to me, hitting my nose by accident.
"no buts toby!" Eyebrows-on-legs-Yuka growled before turning to me with what was supposed to be a nice smile but it ended up really creepy. "sorry miss! my Guildmate here hasnt seen some freinds in a while and cant seem to contact one, hes currently obsessing and doesnt know what to do"
" i see...?"
"yuka"
"shutup toby!"
"but yu"
"SHUTUPPPP!"
"SHES FROM SABERTOOTH!"
i winced at the noise and everyone was staring. Yuka turned back, "oh.. i see, well... done ...toby...?."
"hi?" i cocked an eyebrow
"ah, dont suppose you could take us to your guild by any chance?"
"its on the other side of town, the guildmaster i never in though, nor is the deputy. you'll want to speak to Yukino" i said as i turned around and walked, they sped up to follow me.
Someone else's pov~
i had come back to the guild, we were never there long and we came back when there was less people in the guild. my nose twitched and i looked up
"i thought she wasnt here yukino"
"i said it was next week! stop being such an ass!"
