"Akemi, your track record isn't that great, but you don't need to run again. You are safe here." I laughed bitterly.

"It's not dangerous for me out there either, Kaien. I ran because I was trapped. All that this place is is another more permanent prison." I told him. "The only upside is I don't have to deal with the same shit from before." I left him to his thoughts and the other three baffled. They were going to ask about me, I was sure. I didn't care.

Kain POV:

I stood there, spacing out, not even sure what was going on. Kaname just ordered Aido and I to be there. I thought it had something to do with a new Day Class student.

Just what we need. Another fan girl or fan boy. I don't know which is worse… I thought. I sighed and continued to space off, until the door half-slammed open. Zero Kiryuu walked in, followed by a petite girl. She wasn't in uniform and I didn't remember her in any of the crowds, though that doesn't say much. I assumed she was the new student. I was proved right. She took her time, staring coolly at the headmaster, then Kaname, Aido tensed at that but relaxed when she moved to him, then onto me. She eyes widened with slight surprise but didn't truly go back to normal size when whatever shock was over.

I took a breath and noticed her scent, a light cherry and Elder wood mixed in a beautiful combination, untouched by any false fragrances. It was mouthwatering.

"You must be our new Day Class student." The headmaster stated. "I'm Kaien Cross, the headmaster." She nodded at him and bowed.

"I am Akemi Tenshiwara; I am pleased to meet you Headmaster." The girl, Akemi, stated. She stared straight ahead but there was something different in her gaze this time. She was challenging him. She acted like she wanted a fight. It wasn't a big surprise, though; if you looked at her you would think she was trouble.

Her black skinny jeans were tucked into black combat boots with several silvery zippers on the front of the legs. Her shirt was a skin-tight white "Hollywood Is Dead" tank top that came up just above the tops of her jeans, showing a tiny bit of her skin. The piercing in her navel easily seen through the tightness of her shirt. She wore no jacket and there were a few scrapes on her arms like she'd been fighting. Her knee length red hair looked disheveled, barely noticeable but still there.

"Ah, don't be so formal Akemi-chan! Call me Kaien!" The Headmaster stated, waving his hand like an idiot. She noticeably when he called her "Akemi-chan".

"Do not call me that." She said harshly and twitched slightly towards the direction of the door. Her face was mostly vacant but you could tell that struck a nerve. It also stirred up something else, when her hand moved, her scent was stronger. I looked subtly for a cut but didn't find one. It perked my curiosity.

So sorry," Cross apologized. "I didn't realize that it would bother you." She took a breath and relaxed with effort.

It's fine, Kaien-sama. I shouldn't have spoken to you like that." She said. We all stared at her; no one had ever given him the "sama" honorific. We could only hope it didn't go to his head. She twitched again and was lost in thought for a second before tensing, I assumed to fight another twitch.

"Zero, take her to the Sun Dorms," Cross told the Kiryuu. He nodded and left, stopping outside the door to wait for her. She was halfway out the door before Kaien spoke again. "Akemi, your track record isn't that great, but you don't need to run again. You are safe here." She gave a bitter laugh.

"It's not dangerous for me out there either, Kaien. I ran because I was trapped. All that this place is; is another more permanent prison." She stated, Cross's face started becoming as blank as hers was when she first walked in. "The only upside is I don't have to deal with the same shit from before." She exited the room, leaving a silence and a mystery to solve.

"Kaien," Kaname spoke for the first time since her arrival. "I will need to see her record." With a blank expression on his face as well.

What's with all the emotionless people tonight? I thought to myself. Cross handed it over immediately, much to my surprise. I was sure it would involve some minor struggle that Kaname would inevitably win.

"Don't mess with her, Kaname." Cross warned. "For a 15 year old, she's led a hard life." Kaname nodded and turned, leaving with Hanabusa Aido, my cousin, and I flanking him. He read her file as we walked, smirking every so often.

"Interesting." He stated.

"What is, Kaname-sama?" Aido asked.

"That girl was found as a baby, abandoned with a fake last name on her birth certificate." He began. That caught our attention. Well mine, Aido's was already captured. "She went from foster home to foster home until she ran away when she was 10 and lived on the streets until she was caught four years later. Her case worker made a deal with her and now, one year later, here she is."

"She lived on the streets?" Aido asked appalled. "Like a homeless person?" Kaname nodded.

"Headmaster is right; her track record isn't all that good. She tried to run often before she was 10 but was always caught." Kaname told us, going over the papers again. "It seems that she got into multiple fights at school and at her foster homes as well.

"Fairly resourceful, that girl. She even continued school while she was on the streets under a false name." He gazed over at me from over the notes. "Kain, you and Aido will watch her, she is hiding something." We nodded and turned to the direction of the Sun Dorm, catching up to and cautiously following Kiryuu and the girl.

The strange thing was the feeling coming from the two wasn't strained. It was like they were in a comfortably silence. That was the first time I've ever seen Kiryuu so at ease. And The first time I've truly seen a relaxed look on Akemi's face. It was nice. It suited her. Hanabusa and I walked quietly, observing her closely. They reached the Sun Dorms and she smiled up at him slightly. It was then that I realized how short she really was. About 5'2", a full foot shorter than me.

"Thanks, Zero-kun." She said. How had the gotten so familiar so fast?

"Get inside. Stay there. Curfew passed a while ago; it's dangerous out at night." She nodded.

"Good night." Akemi told him. He patted her on top of the head.

"'Night. Don't come back outside." He walked away from her then. She whispered something at his retreating form before walking inside. I left Aido and made my way slowly around to her dorm room, her scent easily identified it from the clothing that was sent before. I sat in a tree, careful not to be visible and watched her. She unloaded her many zippered pockets before grabbing some clothes and walked into what I assumed was a bathroom. When she came out I nearly fell out of the tree.

She was clad in a black, Skillet t-shirt that barely went past her breasts and clung tightly to her skin and a pair of spandex shorts that almost reached the middle of her thighs but was about an inch short. Her red hair was plaited and looked nearly black from the water. She smelled clean too. Her scent was easier to identify, there wasn't any dirt or outside scent contaminating it. I smirked, the girl was a tease. Although she didn't know I was here, she's still teasingly showing her body like that. I was tempted to light something on fire, just so she could run out of the dorms with everyone else and freeze her ass off… but for some reason the idea of others seeing her like this bothered me.

I shrugged it off and focused on watching her. She half collapsed on her bed with a smirk and closed her eyes. She was out within seconds. I rolled my eyes and silently eased open the window to sneak into her room. She was completely asleep. Her long, nearly black eyelashes almost brushed her cheeks. Her mouth was slightly parted; as she exhaled I got a small whiff of her minty toothpaste.

I carefully slid the blankets out from underneath her and kneeled on the mattress and covered her up. As I straightened and began to inch away so I could stand on the floor to leave, her arm shot out and looped around my neck. I caught myself so I didn't land hard on her but my face was still pressed against her chest. Her very squishy, comfortable chest.

I wanted to stay there for the night, cuddle close and continue using her as my pillow. But even more so, I wanted to pin her down and take her in every way I could. I wanted to mark her as mine. I wanted my bite on her neck, my seed inside her. I inhaled and gritted my teeth at her scent. It was intoxicating. I was getting hungry. I needed a tablet. Badly.

I struggled slightly and was barely able to get out of her hold and cover up her exposed form again before I heard Aido snickering. I pulled him out and silently closed the window before hissing at him.

"You will tell no one about this," I growled. He grinned even wider.

"I don't have to," He replied while holding back fits of laughter. "Her scent's all over you now." I groaned.

"Shit."

"Have a blood tablet. That would help with your eyes. They're creepy red man." I groaned again.

Fucking brilliant!

Akemi POV:

I walked quietly beside Zero. I knew he was changing. Almost a Level E, he should've been. A weaker man would've. He was strong. I couldn't help but smile at that, I knew we would get along. He had a protective air about him. It was calming. My nose twitched as a scent registered with me. He must've smelled it too.

"We have to make a quick detour," He said. I nodded and followed. He stopped in front of a bush. "Come out now and you won't go to the Headmaster's office." Two humans slowly came out from behind the bushes. They were in the Day Class uniform. Lovely. Fan girls.

"We just wanted pictures…" The shorter of the two said. She glared at Zero before turning her attention to me. "Who the hell are you?" I smirked at her. Stupid fan girl.

"Akemi Tenshiwara, a new Day Class student." I told her. "I'm going to guess you're one of the infamous fan girls of this school. Tch. Pathetic." She narrowed her eyes.

"What did you just say I am?"

"Pathetic. Pa-the-tic." I broke it down. "Can your walnut sized brain register it?" She half screamed, half snarled and tried coming at me, her friend held her back with a menacing glower at me.

"Ami, don't. We'll just get in more trouble." I heard her whispers in her enraged friend's ear before dragging her back to the dorms.

"…They're going to try and make your life hell." Zero said, sweat dropping. I smirked.

"Bring it. I hate fan girls." He smirked right back at me.

"I knew I liked you. Let's get to the dorms." He stated. I followed him.

"Thanks Kiryuu-san." I said.

"Just call me Zero." He said. I grinned at him. We walked in a comfortable silence. A few feet away from the dorms I heard them. Zero's hearing must not have been as good as mine. He didn't register anything. I continued walking, smirking slightly at how careless they were being. I bet it was the blonde and the orange haired ones. The brunette didn't seem the type to do things himself. We stopped in front of the dorms and I smiled up at Zero.

"Thanks, Zero-kun." I told him.

"Get inside. Stay there. Curfew passed a while ago; it's dangerous out at night." He instructed me. I nodded.

"Good night." I said. He patted me on top of the head.

"'Night. Don't come back outside." He warned before walking away. When he got out of hearing range I whispered.

"I won't…tonight." I turned and went to my dorm room, which by some stroke of luck I had to myself. When I walked in I saw the orange haired boy in the tree outside my window, I could smell his scent. I unloaded the pockets of my jeans and grabbed some new clothes. I had guessed that he was supposed to watch me for whatever reason. I figured I would give him something to look at.

I brushed my teeth thoroughly before quickly undressing and hopping into the shower, turning the hot water up and relaxing under the heat. I quickly washed my hair and applied the conditioner before using my unscented body wash and shaving. Washing it out, I relaxed even more at the familiar, unscented soaps. I hated things that were scented. They covered your natural scent and usually made my nose burn.

I stepped out and dried off, quickly throwing my black Skillet shirt and spandex over my black panties. I brushed out my hair and quickly did a French braid, starting at the top, right portion of my head and twisting down and around my head into one long one over my shoulder. I stood back and looked in the full length mirror on the back of the bathroom door. What I saw pleased me, the shirt was pulled tight against my chest and almost didn't reach around them to my chest. It was supposed to be a belly shirt anyway but my chest outgrew it. The black spandex shorts hugged my hips and butt nicely, barely above the middles of my thighs, about an inch above. Yes, this should be fun. I hung up my towel and threw my clothes into the little dirty clothes basket before walking out, forcing myself to not laugh at the look on his face and when he tilted, nearly falling out of the tree.

I collapsed on my bed with a smirk that I couldn't hold back and stretched out, quickly falling asleep. The vampires need to learn not to screw with me. Whether they know what I am or not, the kitten has claws.
