"You will tell no one about this," I growled. He grinned even wider.
"I don't have to," He replied while holding back fits of laughter. "Her scent's all over you now." I groaned.
"Shit."
"Have a blood tablet. That would help with your eyes. They're creepy red man." I groaned again.
Fucking brilliant!
Akemi
I hung up my towel and threw my clothes into the little dirty clothes basket before walking out, forcing myself to not laugh at the look on his face and when he tilted, nearly falling out of the tree.
I collapsed on my bed with a smirk that I couldn't hold back and stretched out, quickly falling asleep. The vampires need to learn not to screw with me. Whether they know what I am or not, the kitten has claws.
His scent was everywhere. It enticed me, I wanted to smell more of it, bathe in its smoky smell. I threw my head back a little and took a breath, my nose twitched in pleasure. I heard myself purr. My tail twitched back and forth, trying to ingrain his scent in my fur, permanently mingle it with mine. Two arms wrapped around my waist from behind and pulled me close. I didn't attack, I knew it was him. He buried his face in my neck and nuzzled it. I purred again in delight. I felt his body shake as his deep baritone voice let out a laugh. I turned in his arms and slid my own above around his neck. He looked at me, eyes a brilliant red. I moved my hair out of the way with a smile. He slowly leaned down and-
My eyes snapped open and I took in a sharp breath. I knew my eyes were flickering back and forth between brown and the blue and red that I loved so much. I threw off the blankets and jerked out of my bed, walking quickly to the closet that my held most of my clothes. It was about an hour before sunrise but I still started school today; I might as well get ready now.
I pulled out the shirt and skirt, wrinkling my nose at the length. I was used to something much shorter. Shrugging, I went back to my bathroom and brushed my teeth again and washed my face before undoing my hair. It kinked out in damp waves that I knew would be dry in a few hours and I brushed away the waves so it would dry straight before going to face the horrors of my uniform.
I dressed quickly with a small sigh. I wasn't looking forward to school. I put my thigh strap on my right thigh and slid in one of my tessens, I was never without one, before standing back straight. I was restless. I wanted to run. I slid in my earrings and made sure the ear cuff attached to the one was fastened before sliding my ring on my right ring finger before pausing. I didn't know if my jewelry was prohibited or not, on one hand I really didn't care on the other I didn't want to get in trouble. I shrugged and left them on, consequences be damned.
I tied my school-issued boots and grabbed my bag and walked out the door, hoping to avoid any fan girls who got up early to stare at the Night Class as they walked back to their dorms. I got lucky; it was early enough that I doubted the night classes were over yet. I wanted to walk around a little and explore but if the Night Class was still in… not a good idea. I decided to escape to the library and read awhile before they left. I walked to what seemed to be a more secluded area of the library and sat down. I glanced around a bit before lifting my shirt and taking out my belly ring.
I hated having it in while I was at the library. The smell of books was lovely; I hated to dull it with the spell. Worst comes to worst, I curl up my tail and flatten my ears. And that's assuming I don't hear or smell anything. I doubted that would happen.
I grabbed a book from the nearest shelf and nearly snorted when I looked at the cover. The title was Vampires: Everything You Wanted To Know and More! Obviously someone had a sense of humor. I shrugged and curled up to read it anyway. I was about halfway through the first page when my ears twitched. Listening hard, I vaguely hear two voices coming my way. There were others, though. I could hear their footsteps. I grabbed my belly ring and barely had it on before the library doors opened. I quickly went back to my book, pretending not to hear a thing as the people approached.
"It's your own fault Akatsuki; you were supposed to watch her." The first voice spoke.
"So were you Hanabusa." Said another. I tilted my head slightly at the two males annoyed tones.
"Shut up, both of you." A female voice said. "It doesn't matter, what does, is that you both lost her. Kaname-sama will be so displeased!" I scrunched my brow in irritation. There went my quiet place to read. I heard the one voice, Akatsuki, inhale deeply before speaking again.
"We didn't lose her. Her scent's all over in this section of the library." He said in a cool tone. I rolled my eyes slightly.
No shit Sherlock. Damn vampires with their fucking stupidly incredible sense of smell. I wish I could have that with my belly ring in!
It was silent for a while; the only sounds were their footsteps and our breathing. Quiet until a fairly tall Night Class vampire came around the corner and screeched slightly in an annoying voice.
"What the hell is a Day Class student doing here at this time?" She shook her long, light brown hair and looked at me scathingly with her darker brown eyes. I rolled my own and held up my book.
"Reading fiction?" I asked sarcastically. I really hated people like her.
"Ruka, don't bully the Day Class…" the first voice from before, Hanabusa reproached before turning the corner. He was the same one from earlier in the night, the one with honey-blonde hair and light, celestial eyes. "Oh, you're the girl from before. Hello, darling." He smiled seductively and approached me, bending to kiss my hand. I just blinked and pulled it away.
"I have a name and I know you know it. Please use it and not 'darling'." I told him impassively. He pouted.
"Alright, but how would you like me to call you then, beautiful; as you have stated previously that you do not like to be called 'Akemi-chan'." He asked.
"Use my last name or my first; I don't care so long as I am not called 'Akemi-chan'." I told him.
"Well then, Akemi-oshii¹," He said. I twitched slightly but let him have his fun."I am Hanabusa Aido, please just call me Hanabusa."
"A pleasure then, Hanabusa-senpai." I said coolly before glancing behind him at the girl and…
Oh dear god. I thought. It was him. The orange-haired boy yet again. I kept myself calm, mostly by force, before closing my book and standing; putting it away before bowing to the annoying girl.
"I am Akemi Tenshiwara." I said. "It is a pleasure to meet you senpai."
"Hai, hai²" She said. "I am Ruka Souen. Please do not call me by my first name."
"Hai, Souen-senpai." I nodded. I glanced curiously at Akatsuki but let him introduce himself when he wanted.
"I am Akatsuki Kain." He rumbled in a baritone voice that would've made me blush had I not had so much practice at being stoic.
"A pleasure, Kain-senpai." I replied. "I woke up early and decided to explore the school library a little. I did not realize the Night Classes were still in session. Gomenasai." I bowed again, swallowing my pride, asking their forgiveness. Souen sighed.
"It can't be helped now." She said. "It is late enough that classes are nearly over. You might as well stay."
"Arigato Goziamasu³, Souen-senpai." I replied. "But if that is the case then I should try to find my homeroom. Good day." I replied formally before bowing once more and walking past them. It took every bit of mental strength I had to turn my back on Ruka, she was not someone to mess around with, I was positive of that. I also didn't like how close Kain stood to her.
Whoa, wait, what? I thought, mentally slapping myself. Where the hell did THAT come from? I sighed and shook my head before continuing to walk in the direction that I guessed my first class was. Finding it easily, I explored a little more, making my way to a music room which held a baby grand piano.
I smiled and walked over to it, settling down and touching the keys. I pressed down on them in a C chord. I sighed happily when I heard the sound. I placed my hands gently on the keys and began to play Numb by Linkin Park. It was a beautiful piece on the piano. One of my favorites actually.
Mindful of the time, I stopped playing after going through a few more songs and quietly made my way to my classroom. The teacher had me stand in front of the class and announced my name.
"Go sit between Zero and Ichiru Kiryuu." He said. "Kiryuu, raise your hand." Zero did as told and I smiled slightly at him.
"I am Ichiru Kiryuu; it is a pleasure, Tenshiwara-san." Ichiru told me.
"The pleasure is mine; please just call me Tenshiwara or Akemi." I stated.
"As you wish, Akemi-san." He said politely.
"It's nice to be in the same class, ne Zero-kun?" I whispered when the teacher turned his back to us. Zero shrugged with a small twitch of his lips. I smirked lightly and didn't even bother paying attention to the lesson. Really, I was advanced and should be in college. I was just too lazy; as well as not wanting to be a mini genius at some university, assuming I was able to go to one. I looked down and began to doodle on my paper, enjoying my past time immensely… until I was called on for an answer.
"Tenshiwara, what is the answer?" The teacher called with a smirk. Expecting me to be stupid, I realized. I narrowed my eyes and looked at the problem on the board, doing the math calculations in under a minute.
"X equal 24 to the 7th power over 33." I stated. He twitched, the smile wiped from his face.
"Correct." He stated tersely before turning his attention back to the class. I felt a piece of paper lightly tap my elbow.
He didn't even explain how to do the problem yet. I looked at Ichiru with a surprised look
Asswipe. He was just trying to humiliate me. I wrote back. Ichiru smirked lightly.
But you didn't let him… And you should tie your thigh holster up a little higher. The bottom of it is slightly visible as you walk. I sucked in a sharp breath, causing Zero to look at me. I put my hand over the last part and waved it off with a slight smile. He shrugged and went back to his work… in other words he went back to his nap.
Don't tell anyone! I scribbled furiously.
My lips are sealed. What weapons do you use? I searched his face before answering.
Tessens. They're deceptive weapons so they're easier to hide. He nodded.
Much like you yourself. You may look delicate but I'll bet you're a fierce warrior. I glanced at him with a small smile.
I have a katana here myself. We should spar sometime. I full out grinned then. I might finally have a challenge!
Absolutely.
Yayz! Another chapter! Please review! Lack of reviews in this fanfic has saddened me :'( No playlist with this one. I just couldn't put one together, sadly.
