Richtofen sat in the driver's seat of the sleek grey car that the Veteran's had owned. In the passenger's seat was Dempsey who stared out the window at the snow covered grounds. Nikolai and Takeo sat in the back and Milz separated the two, kicking his feet and playing with his stuffed blue and white panda. Lulling Christmas carols played softly on the radio, breaking the silence that threatened to sit between the few.
The zombie survivors and their son had all been invited to Lona's house for Christmas and New Year's. The offer was immediately accepted by Dempsey himself, forcing the other 3 to pack their bags and follow along. Edward pulled into a large curved driveway and stopped by the two, large, white double doors in the front. The family gazed out of the windows on the right side of the car in awe. Lona had lived in a fancy two story, brick home.
Dempsey was the first to get out and open the trunk, followed by Takeo who helped Milz out of the car. Tank unloaded suitcase after suitcase into the freezing winter atmosphere.
"Do me a favor Dempsey." the Doctor piped up, casting a glare at the Marine.
"What do you want, Kraut?"
"Try not to embarrass yourself." Richtofen growled, fixing the beanie on his head.
"And why would I do that?" Tank replied as Lona stepped out from one of the front doors in a white gown.
"Hi~!" She grinned, throwing a hand up and waving at the five.
"Hey!" Dempsey croaked. He flung a hand over his mouth, stunned that his voice had randomly cracked.
Richtofen cast him another glare and snatched the suitcase he was holding.
"Stupid American." he mumbled, stalking over to the fancy home.
"I'm so glad that you guys could come by!" Lona cheered, grinning widely at Richtofen as he passed by.
"Vell, it vas nice of you to invite us." The Doctor replied, coming to a halt next to the woman. "Your eyes..."
"M-my eyes? What about them?" the model stuttered, blinking her sunny yellow orbs.
"Zhey're yellow... zhat's usually a sign of a very serious disorder." the Nazi observed, leaning in towards the blonde. "Are you alright?"
Lona cast a threatening glare his way, her eyes beginning to emit a strange glow.
"Back away, traitor." she growled, forcing Edward to back away a step. "I-I mean! These are just some new contacts that I'm trying out! Go make yourself at home!"
The model laughed happily as the now curious Doctor walked off into the living room. Takeo passed by her, giving her a respectful nod. Nikolai carried several suitcases through the door and walked by without a greeting with Milz behind him. Dempsey came through last and Lona closed the door behind him.
"Hey, baby." the American cooed, leaning in for a kiss.
The female leaned away in disgust and punched the Marine in his left shoulder. The act didn't bring pain to him, but it did surprise him. His blue eyes stared down at her in wonder and Lona forced out a flirty giggle.
"N-not in front of everyone, trait- err, darling!"
"Okay then... are your eyes yellow?" Dempsey asked, gazing deep into her eyes.
"They're just contacts!" the model smiled. "Do you think I look cute?" She winked at him afterwards.
"You look gorgeous." Tank smiled, wrapping an arm around her waist.
Milz stepped over to the couple with a big plastic box of cookies in his hands. He placed the box down with a struggle and stared up at the two.
"Uh... cookie, please?" he wondered in his high-pitched baby voice.
"Sure, kid! Let's go unpack first! Cookie later!" Dempsey promised, slinging the boy over his shoulder, causing him to begin laughing uncontrollably.
Lona watched the two leave and left her post near the front door and stepped into the tall living room where a hugely decorated Christmas tree sat in the middle, a sparkling star on top. Presents of all shapes and sizes were at the foot of it, waiting to be opened. The woman smoothed her bangs out of her face and slipped into the kitchen.
"I've got them where I want them. It won't take much to get Milly alone in a place as big as this..." she whispered to herself.
Night had come and everyone had been sent off to bed. Lona was the only one who had remained awake, stalking the hallways of her home for anyone who dared leave their room in the late of the night. The model glanced at a clock on the wall. 1:32 am on Christmas Eve. She grinned to herself evilly and began her stride to Milz's room, where she cracked open the door. The baby lay on a tiny bed in the corner of the room, his toys scattered all over the floor.
Ah, she was smart. Very smart indeed. It didn't take much to convince the Vets to let the baby have a room to himself, but dodging all of their concerns is what gave Lona a run for her money. She creeped inside on her tip-toes, closing the door behind herself. Stepping over one toy after another, the blonde made her way towards the sleeping child. A sudden pain shot through her foot and Lona bit her lip painfully hard, realizing that she'd stepped on a lego.
Kicking the annoying block aside, she stood next to Milz's dormant body that rose and fell slowly. She extended a soft, pale hand and tapped his cheek gently. Two yellow dots broke the darkness of the room and the baby sat up in surprise.
"Lonny?" the zombie questioned.
"No, no, Milly. It's me, Samantha." the woman grinned, her eyes glowing. "I need you."
"Why?" the toddler wondered as Lona's body fell limply to the floor and all that remained was Samantha's floating spirit.
"You're the beginning." she whispered and grabbed either side of Milz's head.
Gruesome images flashed through his mind. Pictures of zombies that looked like him. Their skin was grey, their eyes were yellow and they limped across the broken streets. In some images, the zombies were eating humans, some of them were alive as they were bitten into and mists of blood flew everywhere. Some zombies ran and climbed things with insane speed. Then came the images of these monsters with no eyes and big wide, split-mouths and sharp, pointy teeth. They scrambled about on all fours, emitting a strange green mist.
Suddenly, images of his fathers showed as they were running from herds of zombies and terrifying creatures. They shot off their heads and stuffed grenades down their throats. The dying screams of the zombies scarred him as Samantha removed her hands from his head.
Milz began to shake in terror, whimpers escaping his lips. The girl opened her mouth to speak, but was interrupted by Milz's sudden cries for help. He screamed at the top of his lungs, horrified by what he'd saw. Sam reacted quickly and took over Lona's limp body once again. Lona stood to her feet and picked up the boy, petting his head and shushing him.
The door buckled once and Richtofen popped into the room wearing a blood red robe with a scalpel in his hand.
"Put him do- oh. You got here fast." he wondered, placing his scalpel onto a bookshelf and taking the now whimpering baby from Lona's arms. "Zhere, zhere, Milly. Daddy's here for you now."
"S-scared..." the zombie trembled, holding onto the Nazi for dear life.
"Zhere's no need to be scared anymore." the Doctor whispered, holding him close. "Come now. You can sleep in daddy's bed tonight."
The duo left and Lona stood in the center of the room, her face twisted into an evil smirk.
Christmas morning, Milz seemed alright. He'd pushed the horrifying thoughts to the back of his head and focused on the amazing things that Lona had bought for him. As everyone unpacked their gifts, Lona stood by the opening of the kitchen, her arms crossed over her chest. The Marine stepped over and stood beside her, snaking an arm around her waist and pulling her close.
"What are you doing?" the model questioned, finding the urge to slap him across the face.
Dempsey pointed up and the model followed his finger, disgusted to find a mistletoe above their heads. Her bright, yellow eyes widened as her stomach twisted with the urge to empty itself. Tank leaned forward and she had no choice. The peck was over in a flash and the American laughed to himself in victory as Lona shot over to the kitchen sink, spitting into it.
"Karma... how cruel..."
